Abstract

Vocabulary is entirely important to be learns. In order that the students can express their minds, make sentences, interact and also catch the meaning from the context. This research applied Word Webs Game in teaching vocabulary. This research analyzed the result of application of the technique in order to know the influence of Word Webs game.The number all population in this research are 161 students. It used an experimental method in this research. It took two classes as the sample. The sample is taken by using Cluster Random Sampling Technique. The form of the test is objective test that is multiple choice that consist of 50 items of vocabulary test.Before conducting the research, it is assumed that the students had the same characteristics, qualities and also status. The result of the research showed that there was positive influence of Word Webs Game towards students’ vocabulary mastery at the second semester at SMP Dharmapala Bandar Lampung in 2012/2013. It is shown from the distribution list df = 40 obtained the 3.24 and for α = 5 % or 2.00, α = 1 % or 0.01 = 2.66, so the result is 2.00 < 3.24 > 2.66. So, Ho is accepted and ha is rejected.The Average score of post test in experiment class was 68.75, while the average score of post test in control class was 57.67. It is indicated that the average score of post test in experiment class was higher than the average score of post test in control class. So, it can be concluded that there was positive influence in of Word Webs game towards students’ vocabulary mastery.

Abstract

This study is aimed to find out which technique is better in improving students’ vocabulary mastery. The techniques used in this research are Jigsaw Reading and Think-Pair Share. This is a quantitative research with quasi experiment design. The researcher took two classes to apply those techniques. After conducting the treatments for four meetings, the students of each group are given the vocabulary test. The data were analyzed by using t-test with SPSS program. The result showed that Think-Pair Share is better than Jigsaw Reading to apply in the classroom to improve the students’ vocabulary mastery.

Abstract

The research was conducted at SD Negeri 2 Labuhan Ratu, Bandar Lampung in 2022/2023 academic year. In this research the writer used experimental method. It consist of two classes, they were experimental class and control class. The population of this research was the students at the first semester of the fifth grade at SD Negeri 2 Labuhan Ratu, Bandar Lampung. The population  consisted of  66 students from three classes. The sample of this research was VA and VB. The writer used cluster random sampling technique. In the data collecting technique the writer used test, kind of the test is multiple choice. To prove the hypothesis that there is positive and significant effect of Complete the Story Game towards students’ vocabulary mastery, the writer used ttest  formula. The result of this research showed that the average score of students’ vocabulary mastery in experimental class (71.3) was higher than the students’ vocabulary mastery in control class (50.17). Then, the writer got the result of ttest was higher than ttable with significance level 5% (7.57>1.68). It means that the writer proved the hypothesis that there was significant effect of Complete the Story Game towards students’ vocabulary mastery of the fifth grade at SDN 2 Labuhan Ratu, Bandar Lampung.

Abstract

The research aimed to know the effect of Freewriting technique on students’ ability to write procedure text. This research used a quantitative method. There were two classes as the sample in this research which was taken randomly from 24 classes. One class was AKL 1 as experimental, there were 35 students, and the other class was AKL 2 as the control class, there were 35 students. In determining the sample, the researcher used cluster random sampling technique. In collecting the data, the researcher used a writing test. In analysing the data, the researcher used the t-test formula. Based on the data analysis, it can be concluded that ttest 6.66 and ttable = 1.67 with the significance 5% (0,05) and ttable =2.39 with the significance 1% (0,01). It means that ttest > ttable. So, Ha was accepted. This shows that there is any positive and significant influence of using freewriting technique on the students’ writing ability. The students who were taught through the Freewriting technique got a higher score than those who were not taught through Freewriting technique. The average score of the experimental class was 68.61 and the average score of the control class was 57.14.
