IMPROVING STUDENTS’ WRITING ABILITY THROUGH THINK TALK WRITE (TTW) TECHNIQUE BY USING ENGLISH BLOG AS MEDIA Nofriati, Eli

Abstract

The title of this research was improving students’ writing ability through Think Talk Write (TTW) technique by using English Blog as media. the aim of this research were first, to improve the students’ writing ability through Think Talk Write (TTW) technique by using English Blog as media and second, to know the students’ responses toward the implementation of Think Talk Write (TTW) technique by using English Blog as media in learning writing. This research was designed in Classroom Action Research (CAR) and the subject of the research was the fourth semester students which consisted of 30 students. In collecting the data, the researcher used some research instruments such as observation sheets, test, questionnaire and field note. This research was done in two cycles by following the four steps; planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. After all of process of the research was done (cycle 1 and cycle 2), the researcher found some research findings. The first result was found from the observation. It showed that the percentage of the researcher’s performance in implementing the technique by using English Blog as media in teaching writing in cycle 1 was 69% or belongs to level ‘good’ and it increased to be 85% or belongs to level ‘excellent’ in cycle 2. Furthermore, the percentage of the students’ activities in cycle 1 was 63% or belongs to level ‘fair’ and it increased to be 82% or in level ‘good’ in cycle 2. The second result was found from the students’ achievement in writing test. It showed that the average score of the students’ writing test in cycle 1 was 60 or in level ‘fair’ and increased become to 72.33 in cycle 2. The last result was found from the questionnaire and the result showed that the students gave positive response toward the implementation of TTW technique by using English Blog as media in learning writing. It could be proved by the result of questionnaire was 3.48 or belongs to criteria ‘agree’. Based on the research finding above, it can be concluded that the research was done successfully. Key words: Writing, Think Talk Write (TTW) Technique, English Blog

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian pengabdian masyarakat melalui kegiatan coloring family ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk mengembangkan kreativitas anak usia dini. Kegiatan ini dilakukan di sekolah TK Idhata Matangglumpangdua Kabupaten Bireuen pada tanggal 28 s.d 29 Januari 2019 dengan jumlah peserta 20 orang. kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk melatih anak dalam mengasah keterampilan motorik yang mereka miliki, baik motorik kasar maupun motorik halus. bagi anak usia dini keterampilan motorik sangat penting karena disamping kemampuan kognitif anak juga harus memiliki keterampilan motorik terutama keterampilan motorik halus. keterampilan motorik halus adalah gerakan tubuh yang melibatkan otot – otot kecil seperti jari tangan, pergelangan tangan dan lain – lain. Gerakan Motorik Halus terutama yang melibatkan otot tangan dan jari biasanya membutuhkan kecermatan tinggi, ketekunan dan koordinasi antara mata dan otot kecil. Semakin baik gerakan motorik halus membuat anak dapat berkreasi, seperti menggunting, menggambar, mewarnai, merobek, menulis, meronce, melipat, menjahit, meremas, menggenggam, menganyam dan sebagainya. oleh karena itu, keterampilan motorik anak ini perlu selalu diasah sedemikian rupa agar otot – otot jari tangan anak lebih kuat dan dapat digunakan untuk berbagai aktivitas yang berhubungan dengan motorik. oleh karenanya kegiatan pengabdian coloring family yang telah dilakukan merupakan salah satu cara untuk mengasah dan melatih keterampilan motorik anak.

Abstract

The tittle of the community service activity is the training of English Learning toward the students at the Rumah Quran Khairul Ummah Gandapura Subdistrict, Bireuen Regency. The purpose of this training is to solve the problems faced by the students at Rumah Quran Khairul Ummah during the pandemic. In this activity the students were given the training of English learning in order to provide the students with adequate English competence. The training was held for 3 days from 25th until 27th October 2021. The activity was carried out in two sessions; the first session was a presentation of English learning by the team and the second session was the discussing activity where the students are encouraged to ask questions to the teacher and could discuss about the English with their friends. After the training was done, it can be found that the result was the students were motivated and give  good responses during the training activity. Through the activity the students also can increase their knowledge about English and can improve their performance in practicing English. Based on the result above, it can be concluded that the training was done successfully.

Abstract

Abstract People need to learn writing in English for occupational or academic purpose to write well, students must have good capabilities in writing process and aspects of writing. The purposes of the research are: to improve PPIE technique for the students writing skill in Narrative text. And to know the students’ response of PPIE Technique in Narrative text. Qualitative and quantitative research methodology were combined by the researcher. In qualitative, the researcher used questionnaires, observation sheet as instrument of the research to observe and learn. Based on the quantitative research methodology, the researcher and teacher gave post-tes. The result of observation sheet for the teachers performance in cycle 1 had the mean score was about 67.84% . In cycle 2 showed that the the mean score was about 83.14%. The result of observation sheet for the students’ activities in cycle 1 the mean score was 52.54%. In second cycle mean score was 75.68%. The total score on questionaires about 12.99 and average score about 3.24. Therefore, the researcher concluded that the PPIE technique could improve the students’ ability in writing skill.

Abstract

The title of this Service Community Activity is the Training of English through the activity of making handy crafts from nonorganic wastes in elementary school students. The activity was done by given the training to the students to learn English vocabulary through the making of handy crafts from nonorganic wastes such as flower arrangement. The purpose of the training is to help the students in learning various English vocabularies. Through this training the students are expected to be able to mention and remember the English vocabulary related to the activity. For example, the students can pronounce the words such as: flower petals (kelopak bunga), leaves (daun), flower pistil (putik bunga), stalk (tangkai), cut out (menggunting), stringing (merangkai) and etc. This activity was held for one month starting from doing observation, preparing of the proposal, doing the training and ended by preparing the report. The activity and the training was held on January 2022 of the second week. During the training, the students were taught about the English vocabulary while aranging the flowers from the nonorganic waste. After doing the training, the result that can be found that the students were able to mention and pronounce the English vocabulary well and the students also could make and create the handy craft (flowers) from the nonorganic waste. Based on the result of the service community activity to the students of SDN 3 Muara Batu can be concluded that the training was done successfully.

Abstract

Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk melatih keterampilan Guru-Guru PAUD dalam meningkatkan kemampuan high order thinking dalam mengmbangkan literasi membaca dalam penggunaan APE melalui learning community menuju caring community. Pengabdian masyarakat ini menggunakan rancangan berbasis Lesson Study yang dilakukan untuk Guru-Guru PAUD di Kabupaten Bireuen. Metode pengambilan data pada pelatihan ini adalah dengan menggunakan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Ada 3 (Tiga) Tahapan dalam pelatihan ini yaitu: (1) menyusun RPPH yang berbasis lesson study (2) para peserta pelatihan melakukan demonstrasi sesuai dengan RPPH yang telah disusun (3) tahap refleksi dimana para peserta pelatihan setelah melakukan demonstrasi pembelajaran melakukan tahap refleksi. Para peserta pelatihan begitu antusias dalam mengikuti pelatihan dimulai dari hari pertama hingga hari terakhir pelaksanaan kegiatan tentang apa itu lesson study dan mengapa lesson study itu perlu untuk diterapkan dalam pembelajaran Anak Usia Dini.

Abstract

Tuntutan pembelajaran revolusi industri mengacu pada 4C yaitu communication, collaboration, creativity and critical thinking. Pada kenyataannya masih ditemukannya permasalahan di dalam kelas pada saat proses belajar mengajar seperti 1) masih kurang menerapkan pembelajaran yang interaktif, 2) kurangnya pengamat pada saat proses belajar mengajar, dan 3) tidak maksimalnya pembelajaran peerteaching. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah kualitatif yang dianalisis melalui pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif melalui tiga tahapan yaitu reduksi data, data display dan verifikasi data. Subyek penelitian adalah dosen pada fakultas keguruan dan ilmu pendidikan. Sampel penelitian ini adalah lima orang dosen pengampu mata kuliah micro teaching. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui kuesioner dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa Lesson Study tepat diterapkan dalam pengelolaan kelas pada mata kuliah micro teaching. Selain itu, dari pembelajaran lesson study tergambarkan bahwa kondisi kelas lebih interaktif dan lebih menyenangkan serta berpusat pada mahamahasiswa sesuai dengan tuntutan pembelajaran abad 21.

Abstract

This study focuses on how Almuslim University EFL graduates perceive plagiarism from 2020 to 2022. The data for this study were gathered through documents and interviews using a descriptive qualitative design. 15 theses were used as samples to determine the types of plagiarism, and 15 respondents were interviewed to determine the factors that influence plagiarism. The documents were coded based on the types of plagiarism, and the respondents were asked five questions during the interview. The findings revealed that 12 of the 15 theses samples had plagiarism rates greater than 25%. Three theses were found to have a small percentage of plagiarism. According to the samples, the majority of EFL graduates completed their theses using patchwriting instead of verbatim plagiarism. Furthermore, the interview results revealed that theses plagiarism could occur due to a variety of factors, including a lack of information, a desire to finish it quickly, a negative environment influence, and viewing the theses as a graduate formality. Furthermore, the findings of this study can be used to educate others about the various types, causes, and contributing factors to plagiarism. As a result, lecturers and universities can take precautionary measures to avoid plagiarism in the future.

Abstract

Melakukan pembelajaran yang kreatif dan berpikir kritis serta menyatukan dengan kehidupan nyata adalah salah satu bentuk dari konsep Contextual Teaching and Learning. Pelatihan ini dilakukan untuk menambah wawasan guru serta murid tentang pembelajaran diabad ke 21 sekarang ini. Hal ini sangat penting dilaksanakan untuk memotivasi siswa agar proses pembelajaran dapat tercapainya tujuan pembelajaran serta proses pembelajaran juga dapat menyatu dengan kehidupan real siswa. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian ini dengan mengamati proses pembelajaran yang telah dilaksanakan di SD Negeri 4 tersebut dalam pendekatan kontestual proses pembelajaran tidak hanya berpusat pada guru tetapi menjadikan Students Learning Center. Siswa juga menemukan hal yang sudah dialami. Pelatihan ini dilaksanakan agar guru dapat melakukan pengembangan terhadap proses pembelajaran yang memotivasi siswa, berpikir kritis dan mampu berdiskusi dan mengikuti pembelajaran dengan menyenangkan. Dengan adanya pengabdian ini dapat kita lihat dengan bertambahnya minat belajar dan siswa sangat termotivasi serta bertambahnya wawasan guru untuk menciptakan proses pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan kondisi sekarang ini
