Abstract

Untuk menghadapi virus Covid 19 yang terus meningkat dan menyebar secara masif, pemerintah di seluruh dunia, termasuk Indonesia, menghimbau dan mewajibkan masyarakatnya untuk mematuhi protokol kesehatan termasuk dalam penggunaan masker dalam kegiatan sehari-hari. Masker menjadi sarana wajib yang dipakai masyarakat terlebih lagi dikonfirmasi bahwa virus Covid 19 dapat menular melalui udara (airbone). Namun, masyarakat Bali masih abai dalam penggunaan masker karena kurangnya edukasi. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi kepada masyarakat untuk selalu mematuhi protokol kesehatan di masa pandemi covid 19. Selain itu, pengabdian kepada masyarakat juga dapat meningkatkan jiwa sosial dosen dan mahasiswa Institut Desain dan Bisnis Bali, serta dapat meningkatkan kemampuan di bidang desain, dimana hasil karya civitas akademika Institut Desain dan Bisnis Bali dapat langsung dirasakan oleh masyarakat umum. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat dalam bentuk pembagian masker kain ini dilaksanakan di Pasar Yadnya, Kesiman karena pasar tradisional merupakan lokasi yang sering dikunjungi masyarakat dalam aktivitas perekonomian sehari-hari. Produksi masker kain dilakukan oleh dosen dan mahasiswa program studi Desain Mode yang kemudian dikemas dengan kemasan yang didesain oleh dosen dan mahasiswa Desain Komunikasi Visual, Institut Desain dan Bisnis Bali. Untuk memberikan edukasi, dirancang pula infografis berisi informasi secara visual mengenai protokol kesehatan dan cara mencuci masker kain. Penyerahan masker dilakukan secara simbolis kepada pengurus kelurahan Kesiman dan kepala pasar Yadnya. Selanjutnya dilakukan pembagian masker kepada pedagang dan pembeli di lingkungan pasar Yadnya, Kesiman.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic, which has hit almost all countries in the world, requires all people to comply with health protocols to face new life, such as using masks in everyday life. In Denpasar, Bali itself, the number of COVID-19 transmissions continues to increase, so masks are mandatory items that must be owned by the community. However, conditions in the field, there are still many people who do not use masks in their daily activities, such as at Badung Market, Denpasar. The market as a place of buying and selling that involves the interaction of many people, should have more health protocols so that it does not become a new cluster in the spread of COVID-19. Therefore, community service was made by involving lecturers and students of all Study Programs at the Bali Design and Business Institute, in the form of distributing cloth masks and infographics to provide education to the public, especially traders and the community in the Badung Market area, Denpasar-Bali. The methods used are choosing the location for distributing masks, collecting cloth materials for mask production, producing masks, designing infographics and mask packaging, packaging, and distributing masks in the Badung Market area. The resulting cloth masks are packaged together with infographics, so that people can easily get education on preventing COVID-19 by using masks.

Abstract

Pendidikan merupakan salah suatu upaya yang dilakukan untuk dapat mengembangkan potensi diri, atapun meningkatkan kecerdasan, baik itu melalui pendidikan formal maupun non formal. Setiap warga negara berhak mendapatkan pendidikan yang sama, begitu pula dengan penyandang disabilitas. Pemerintah juga sudah mengeluarkan Peraturan Menteri Riset Teknologi dan Pendidikan Tinggi Nomor 46 Tahun 2017 sebagai langkah strategis untuk memberi kesempatan bagi penyandang disabilitas dalam mendapatkan pendidikan khususnya di pendidikan tinggi. Sekolah Tinggi Desain Bali sebagai kampus desain yang berbasis teknologi juga mendapatkan mahasiswa berkebutuhan khusus, yaitu tuna rungu selama dua tahun terakhir ini. Mahasiswa tuna rungu ini memiliki antusiasme yang tinggi dalam menerima pembelajaran, namun pada pelaksanaan proses pembelajaran khususnya mata kuliah praktikum dengan menggunakan alat dan komputer masih memerlukan inovasi agar mahasiswa tuna rungu ini dapat menyerap dan menerima pembelajaran dengan cepat, tepat dan efektif. Oleh karena itu dirancanglah model inovasi pembelajaran yaitu video tutorial interpreter dengan mengedepankan konsep pembelajaran yang bersifat berulang, mobile, dan mengedepankan kemudahan mahasiswa berkebutuhan khusus dalam mempelajari suatu materi. Setelah dipraktekkan kepada mahasiswa tuna rungu, dampak positif yang didapat adalah terlihat adanya peningkatan motivasi belajar dan hasil belajar mahasiswa berkebutuhan khusus yang dapat dilihat dari antusiasme mereka menerima pembelajaran di kelas serta penerimaan dan pemahaman mereka terhadap tugas-tugas yang diberikan.

Abstract

ABSTRACTIn recent years, the popularity of using animated GIFs on social media, especially on Instagram, has increased. The need for Instagram users to produce interesting stories becomes more attractive with the use of animated GIFs. The contextual images generated by animated GIFs are brief but can tell a story, making it easier for Instagram users to tell stories and get feedback from the audience who saw the story. This study aims to show the work process and results of the design and publication of animated GIFs on Instagram Stories. The method used in this study is a qualitative research method with a case study approach with the results in the form of a published animated GIF design and gaining insight into the results of the activities of the animated GIF users.Keywords: Animation, GIF, Design, Instagram Story.ABSTRAKBeberapa tahun terakhir, popularitas penggunaan animasi GIF di media sosial, khususnya di Instagram menjadi meningkat. Kebutuhan pengguna Instagram untuk menghasilkan story yang menarik menjadi lebih atraktif dengan penggunaan animasi GIF. Citra kontekstual yang dihasilkan oleh animasi GIF yang singkat namun dapat bercerita, membuat konten story pada Instagram pengguna menjadi lebih mudah dimengerti dan mendapat feedback dari audience yang melihat story tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menunjukkan proses kerja dan hasil perancangan dan publikasi animasi GIF pada Instagram Story. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus dengan hasil berupa rancangan animasi GIF yang terpublikasi dan mendapatkan insight hasil aktivitas dari pengguna animasi GIF tersebut.Kata Kunci: animasi, GIF, Desain, Instagram Story.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic that has hit all countries in the world including Indonesia, has made access to tourism and community activities not optimal. However, in a situation like this, the city of Denpasar, Bali, which has been named a creative city with a cultural perspective by the Indonesian Creative Agency, continues to carry out branding activities in the hope that after the pandemic ends, both local and foreign people will continue to visit Bali and carry out their usual activities. One tourist village that wants to do branding is Padang Sambian Kelod Village. This village collaborates with the Bali Design and Business Institute to carry out the Community Service program in the form of a mural which is carried out in Astagina Field, as a form of enhancing the image of the village and welcoming the planned Porsenides (Village Sports and Art Week) activities when the pandemic situation has decreased or ended. The method used is a participatory design approach, which will connect humans (lecturers and students who carry out the mural), place (the identity of the tourist village) and function functions (knowledge and action). The result of this activity is the design of a mural that features Balinese traditional sports as a characteristic of Padangsambian Kelod Village, where this mural is expected not only to beautify the village, but also to improve the image of the village itself, and of course to become an icon of Porsenides in the village.

Abstract

Literacy is a system of graphical signs or visual symbols of the language that people use to communicate. Balinese script is a mother tongue for Balinese people, which is still used for the benefit of social order and religious ceremonies.For this reason, Balinese script is very important to learn and understand from an early age.But its existence is now increasingly marginalized, along with the times.In its current development, the interest of children to learn Balinese script is decreasing.One of the factors causing a reduction in children's interest in learning Balinese script is a learning system by using conventional media with lectures in class and guided by manuals or student worksheets that contain more text than illustrative illustrations, so that it becomes less interesting and boring. So that learning supporting media is needed, with Balinese Script Puzzle Game that are in accordance with the Balinese Language curriculum for grade 1-3 elementary school children.The purpose of this study was to examine the extent of the effectiveness of the Balinese Script Puzzle Game as a supporter of Balinese script learning and preservation of Balinese script for technology-based grade 1-3 elementary school children.The research method used is qualitative and quantitative methods by going through several stages, among others, beginning with observations by observing the extent to which interest in elementary school children in grades 1-3 on the Balinese Script Puzzle Game,and observe changes that occur after trying to use the Balinese Script Game Puzzle as a supporter of Balinese Script learning. The next stage is doing sampling and measuring the level of effectiveness based on the data obtained and the measurement scale.

Abstract

Bali sebagai daerah pariwisata memiliki potensi yang tinggi dalam mendatangkan wisatawan. Melihat peluang tersebut, banyak industri minuman beralkohol seperti wine yang beroperasi dan memproduksi produknya di Bali, salah satunya adalah Plaga Wine. Perusahaan wine yang berlokasi di Kuta ini membangun citra produknya dengan melakukan branding di media sosial, seperti di Instagram dengan memberikan konten visual yang menarik dan sesuai dengan karakter target konsumennya, yaitu generasi milenial. Keunikan dan ciri khas dari brand menjadi satu kunci untuk memenangkan persaingan, terlebih lagi perusahaan wine di Bali sudah cukup banyak dan sama-sama gencar untuk melakukan branding di media sosial. Oleh karena itu, penulis menganalisa strategi konten visual pada Instagram Plaga Wine sebagai upaya branding kepada generasi milenial. Metode yang digunakan untuk menganalisa masalah adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif dimana penulis mengumpulkan data mengenai konten visual yang dimiliki pada Instagram Plaga Wine, menganalisa per masing-masing konten dan mendeskripsikan berdasarkan literasi visual serta kenyataannya di lapangan. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah Plaga Wine sudah efektif dalam melakukan branding melalui konten visual Instagramnya terhadap generasi milenial. Dalam melakukan branding di media sosial diperlukan konsistensi dalam memilih unsur-unsur visual agar citra perusahaan akan mudah teringat oleh target audience, dan melaksanakan riset yang dalam mengenai karakteristik konsumen yang dituju.

Abstract

Loloh cemcem is a typical herbal drink from the tourist village of Penglipuran, Bangli Regency, Bali which has good health properties for the body, such as preventing heartburn and providing freshness. This drink is widely traded, but its packaging only uses bottles that resemble mineral water bottles, so that many tourists view this cemcem loloh drink as unhygienic, less aesthetic, and different from similar drinks. Penglipuran Village is a tourist village that is always visited by hundreds of tourists per day, should be able to create an increase in sales from loloh cemcem. When viewed from the character of consumers who are currently the millennial generation, visual appearance is certainly one of the attractions in choosing a product. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the packaging design of loloh cemcem to increase the value of the product using a visual communication aesthetic approach. The trial was conducted on consumers and prospective consumers of the loloh cemcem drink to get feedback using existing packaging designs with new packaging design innovations, as data analysis taking into account the visual communication aesthetics of each loloh cemcem packaging design. This research is expected to provide additional benefits to the knowledge of visual communication design, in this case, packaging design, so that it can be used as a reference for further research. The research method used in determining the research topic, determining the problem based on internal and external factors, data collection, data analysis, and conducting trials to obtain the expected research reports and outputs. The results of the research are in the form of Loloh cemcem packaging prototypes, and how the packaging can increase the value of Loloh cemcem products.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic that has lasted since 2020 has had a major impact on the tourism sector. This uncertain situation has made various countries produce policies for traveling both at home and abroad. World tourism, including Indonesia, needs time to return to being able to generate visitors. Various efforts and strategies have been made to save Indonesian tourism. One of them is by doing branding including branding on tourist villages on social media, namely through presenting visual content on Instagram. The choice of tourist village in this study is because Indonesia has villages with natural, cultural and traditional potential, community communities to culinary diversity. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive method with case studies from several tourism village Instagram accounts that have potential and are analyzed based on branding variables. It was found that the selection of the right visual content such as showing the identity of the tourist village and testimonials became effective content for branding the tourist village. In addition, the consistency of visual elements is also an important factor in improving the image of a tourist village. This study aims to determine effective visual content in branding for tourist villages so that it is expected to revive the tourism sector and the creative economy in Indonesia since the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Jakarta Head in The Clouds 2022 Music and Arts Festival (Jakarta HITC) merupakan event musik internasional di bawah naungan label 88rising, Amerika Serikat. Untuk mempromosikan pagelaran berkelas internasional ini, Jakarta HITC melakukan kolaborasi Ida Bagus Ratu Antoni Putra, atau lebih dikenal dengan nama Monez, seorang ilustrator Bali yang menghasilkan poster promosi bertajuk “Light from The Sky”. Poster ini sangat menarik dari segi ilustrasi yang kemudian dianalisa oleh penulis dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan dari Susie Hodge mengenai bagaimana melihat seni. Pendekatan analisis yang dituangkan Susie Hodge menggunakan lima (5) tahapan yaitu tahap intimidate (intimidasi), tahap disconcert (membingungkan), tahap puzzle, tahap instruct (menginstruksikan) dan tahap enlighten (mencerahkan). Hasil penelitian didapat bahwa Dalam melihat suatu karya seni, seorang penikmat seni memerlukan metode kritis untuk tidak hanya melihat dari satu sisi, tapi juga dari berbagai sisi agar mendapat pemahaman yang lebih mendalam dari karya seni tersebut. Desainer/seniman tidak hanya memberikan fokus pada tema acara untuk menghasilkan karya yang unity, tapi juga memberikan makna lain yang dapat menginspirasi target audience yang dituju. Desainer atau seniman juga perlu tetap memberikan ciri khas dalam setiap karyanya sebagai identitas dari seniman tersebut.
