Abstract

Families have obligations to protect and care for their children. The general objective of this study was to analyze the gender of the investment and the quality of the children in highland farmers. The study was conducted at highland areas at Cianjur Regency (Sindangjaya Village, Cipanas Sub-district) and Bogor Regency (Petir Village, Dramaga Sub-district). The findings showed that they were 4 (four) indicators of child investment latent variable such as the allocation of time togetherness between parents and children, investment in education and health, material allocations, and protection of children. Moreover, there were 5 (five) indicators of child quality latent variable such as the physical quality, learning achievement, child's behavior, psycho-social-spiritual, and the quality of life. The first result showed that there was no difference between boys and girls in total of child investment, but there was significantly difference between boys and girls in total of child quality. The second result proved that the latent variable of child investment has significantly positive effect on latent variable of child quality. As recommendation, the study need to be continued with various family characteristics and broadening analysis such as the effect of child investment and child quality to the child happiness.

Abstract

Desa Segaran merupakan desa di Kecamatan Batujaya, Kabupaten Karawang, Provinsi Jawa Barat. Salah satu masalah yang dihadapi oleh keluarga di Desa Segaran adalah tingkat kesejahteraan keluarga yang termasuk dalam kategori rendah. Desa Segaran memiliki potensi yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan keluarga, yaitu sebagai Kawasan Cagar Budaya Nasional dan daerah penghasil beras. Potensi ini belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan pembuatan dan pengemasan cookies tepung beras di Desa Segaran, Kecamatan Batujaya, Kabupaten Karawang, Provinsi Jawa Barat. Kegiatan ini dilakukan pada bulan Juli tahun 2019 dan diikuti oleh 30 keluarga. Materi yang disampaikan dalam kegiatan pelatihan adalah materi tentang pembuatan, pendekorasian, dan juga pengemasan cookies tepung beras. Tim pelaksana mempresentasikan alat dan bahan yang dibutuhkan. Tim pelaksana mendemonstrasikan cara untuk membuat, mendekorasi, dan mengemas cookies tepung beras. Setiap peserta pelatihan diminta untuk mencoba membuat, mendekorasi, dan mengemas cookies tepung beras. Kegiatan ini mendapatkan respon yang positif dari peserta pelatihan. Setelah kegiatan dilaksanakan, pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta pelatihan dalam membuat, mendekorasikan, dan mengemas cookies tepung beras meningkat.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the correlation between internet parenting and adolescent internet behavior. Data was collect using self-report techniques from May to June 2020. This study involved 235 students in one of junior high school, who were randomly selected. The instrument for measuring internet parenting was the Factor Analysis of Mediating Rules and Practices (Livingstone and Helsper, 2008), which consists of 24 statements. The instrument for measuring internet behavior was the Principal Component Analysis of the Internet Use Questionnaire (Johnson & Kulpa, 2006), which consists of 20 statements. The data collected was analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics, namely Pearson Correlation Coefficient. The results showed that internet parenting was included in the moderate category (54,5%). Internet behavior is included in the low category (55,3%). The results of correlation analysis show that internet parenting has a significant negative correlation with adolescent internet behavior (r=-0,223, p<0,01). These results indicate that the higher the attitude of parents in disciplining internet use in adolescents can reduce the frequency of adolescents using the internet. Thus, the implementation of internet parenting can be one way to reduce internet use in adolescents.

Abstract

This research is part of the standardization of the Students' Coping Strategy Scale (SCSS). This study aims to reveal the content validity, empirical validity, and reliability of the SCSS. The non-test instrument consisting of 42 statements from three dimensions: problem-focused coping, emotion-focused coping, and seeking social support. Content validity analysis was carried out by experts to obtain Gregory's content validity coefficient, while the empirical validity and reliability analysis by empirically testing the instrument on 211 respondents and analyzed using the Rasch model approach. The results show that Gregory's content validity coefficient is 0.714, so it needs improvement on some items that are considered unsuitable. Empirical validity analysis using WINSTEPS software shows that three items do not fit the model. The reliability coefficient of the SCSS is 0.99. Thus, the remaining 39 items are appropriate to be used to measure students' coping strategies.

Abstract

Abstrak Orang tua berperan penting dalam menentukan asupan gizi pada anak prasekolah salah satunya dengan cara praktik pemberian makan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan praktik pemberian makan dengan status gizi anak prasekolah di PAUD Ar-Raudoh, Desa Cisarua, Kecamatan Tegalwaru, Kabupaten Purwakarta. Sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 60 orang ibu dan anak prasekolah. Instrumen Compherensive Feeding Practice Questionere (CFPQ) dan status gizi menggunakan data antropometri. Analisis data menggunakan statistika deskriptif dan analisis korelasi menggunakan Spearman Rank serta Chi-Square. Sebaran jenis kelamin anak dalam penelitian adalah laki – laki (50%) dan perempuan (50%), mayoritas umur anak 6 tahun (51,7%), ibu dengan jumlah anak 2 (40%), urutan kelahiran bungsu (40%), pendapatan keluarga < Rp1.500.00 (58,3%), pendidikan ibu lulus SD/MI (55%), pekerjaan ibu yaitu ibu rumah tangga (90%), dan usia ibu mayoritas dewasa awal (44,2%). Tidak terdapat hubungan antara karakteristik keluarga seperti jenis kelamin, jumlah anak, urutan kelahiran anak, pendidikan ibu, dan pekerjaan ibu. Terdapat hubungan antara variabel praktik pemberian makan dengan karakteristik pendapatan keluarga. Tidak terdapat hubungan antara karakteristik keluarga seperti jumlah anak, urutan kelahiran anak, pendapatan keluarga, dan pendidikan ibu dengan status gizi anak prasekolah. Terdapat hubungan antara variabel status gizi anak prasekolah dengan karakteristik jenis kelamin dan pekerjaan ibu. Terdapat hubungan praktik pemberian makan dengan status gizi dengan nilai koefisien korelasi 0,298 dan nilai koefisien determinasi 0,085. Terdapat hubungan antara variabel praktik pemberian makan dengan karakteristik pendapatan keluarga. Terdapat hubungan antara variabel status gizi anak prasekolah dengan karakteristik jenis kelamin, pekerjaan ibu, dan status gizi. Kata Kunci: Status gizi, Praktik pemberian makan, Anak prasekolah Abstract Parents play an important role in determining nutritional intake in preschool children, one of which is by way of feeding practices. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between feeding practices and the nutritional status of preschool children in PAUD Ar-Raudoh, Cisarua Village, Tegalwaru District, Purwakarta Regency. Sample in this study were 60 mothers and preschool children. The Compherensive Feeding Practice Questioner (CFPQ) instrument and nutritional status used anthropometric data. There is no relationship between family characteristics such as gender, number of children, child birth order, mother's education, and mother's occupation. There is a relationship between the variables of feeding practices with the characteristics of family income. There is no relationship between family characteristics such as number of children, child birth order, family income, and mother's education with the nutritional status of preschool children. There is a relationship between the variables of the nutritional status of preschool children with the characteristics of the gender and occupation of the mother. There is a relationship between feeding practices and nutritional status with a correlation coefficient of 0.298 and a coefficient of determination of 0.085. There is a relationship between the variables of feeding practices with the characteristics of family income. There is a relationship between the nutritional status of preschool children with the characteristics of gender, mother's occupation, and nutritional status. Abstract

This study aims to determine students' tendency to use the same or different platforms in distance learning to create effective and joyful learning. The study was conducted on 119 students from the Department of Family Welfare Education, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, from April to May 2020. The research was conducted using survey methods—data collected through questionnaires and online interviews. Data analyzed descriptively. The results showed that 74 of 119 students preferred using the same platform during learning. The consistent use of platforms makes it easier for students to access so that the student just focus on lecture material.

Abstract

Abstract The golden age is a very effective and essential period for optimizing the various intelligence potentials possessed by children to achieve quality human resources. Many families need to learn about the indicators children must achieve at each stage of development and every aspect of their development. This issue impacts parents' inability to provide appropriate care to optimize child development, especially during the golden age. Families need assistance from cadres in optimizing children's development, especially during the golden age. Unfortunately, only some Family Welfare Empowerment (FWE) cadres know how to measure and assess children's developmental achievements. At the same time, the measurement and assessment results of child development are the basis for determining the right parenting style. So there needs to be training for FWE cadres regarding the measurement and development of children so that families or parents can provide the right parenting style and support optimal child development. The solution to overcome this problem is to optimize the development of children in the golden age through the Training of Trainers measuring and assessing child development in Pantai Mekar Village, Muara Gembong District, Bekasi Regency, West Java Province. The participants were enthusiastic about paying attention to the material presentation session. Participants are also able to conduct interactive discussions. In the question and answer session, some participants presented a real case in the Pantai Mekar Village regarding children's growth and development that was not optimal. The participants were satisfied with this activity. Unfortunately, during the activity implementation, no children under five came to the Mekar Beach Village Office hall, so participants could not directly measure children's growth. Abstrak Masa keemasan merupakan masa yang sangat efektif dan esensial untuk mengoptimalkan berbagai potensi kecerdasan yang dimiliki anak untuk mencapai sumber daya manusia yang berkualitas. Banyak keluarga perlu belajar tentang indikator-indikator yang harus dicapai anak-anak pada setiap tahap perkembangan dan setiap aspek perkembangan mereka. Hal ini berdampak pada ketidakmampuan orang tua dalam memberikan pengasuhan yang tepat untuk mengoptimalkan tumbuh kembang anak, terutama pada masa keemasan. Keluarga membutuhkan pendampingan kader dalam mengoptimalkan tumbuh kembang anak, terutama pada masa keemasan. Sayangnya, hanya sebagian kader Pemberdayaan Kesejahteraan Keluarga (PKK) yang mengetahui cara mengukur dan menilai capaian tumbuh kembang anak. Sementara itu, hasil pengukuran dan penilaian tumbuh kembang anak menjadi dasar dalam menentukan pola asuh yang tepat. Sehingga perlu adanya pelatihan bagi kader PKK mengenai pengukuran dan perkembangan anak agar keluarga atau orang tua dapat memberikan pola asuh yang tepat dan mendukung tumbuh kembang anak yang optimal. Solusi untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut adalah dengan mengoptimalkan tumbuh kembang anak di masa keemasan melalui Training of Trainer pengukuran dan penilaian tumbuh kembang anak di Desa Pantai Mekar, Kecamatan Muara Gembong, Kabupaten Bekasi, Provinsi Jawa Barat. Para peserta sangat antusias memperhatikan sesi pemaparan materi. Peserta juga mampu melakukan diskusi interaktif. Dalam sesi tanya jawab, beberapa peserta memaparkan kasus nyata di Desa Pantai Mekar terkait tumbuh kembang anak yang belum optimal. Para peserta merasa puas dengan kegiatan ini. Sayangnya, pada saat pelaksanaan kegiatan, tidak ada balita yang datang ke aula Kantor Desa Pantai Mekar, sehingga peserta tidak bisa mengukur pertumbuhan anak secara langsung.

Abstract

AbstractProblems surrounding environmental damage are increasing from time to time. One of the efforts that can be made to prevent and overcome these problems is internalizing the character of love for the environment, especially in children. In internalizing the character values of loving the environment in children, the role of the family and school environment is a microenvironment for children. Therefore, community service activities are training for Early Childhood Education teachers and Family Welfare Empowerment cadres regarding the urgency of internalizing the character of loving the environment in children. This activity is part of the Environmental Love Village Program, abbreviated as the Kacintaan Program. In addition, 27 early childhood education teachers and Family Welfare Empowerment cadres in Jatinegara Kaum Village, Pulo Gadung District, East Jakarta City, DKI Jakarta Province, follow this activity. The training activity lasted for two days, on 9-10 August 2022, and consisted of preparation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and the preparation of activity outcomes. The training activity begins with the presentation of the material by the resource person. The material discussed is the component of character building in environmental care, indicators of loving the environment, and strategies for growing the character of loving the environment. After the presentation of the material, the participants conducted group discussions to identify the achievements of the character of loving the environment. At the end of the activity, participants were allowed to identify stimulation media that could be used to internalize the character values of environmental love in children. The activity results show that the ability of PAUD teachers and PKK cadres to integrate learning materials and the character of loving the environment has increased. Thus, participants expected to implement the knowledge gained through this activity in the family and school environment. AbstrakPermasalahan seputar kerusakan lingkungan meningkat dari waktu ke waktu. Untuk mencegah dan mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan adalah dengan cara menginternalisasikan karakter cinta lingkungan terutama pada anak. Dalam menginternalisasikan nilai-nilai karakter cinta lingkungan pada anak membutuhkan peran dari lingkungan keluarga dan sekolah yang merupakan lingkungan mikro untuk anak. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dilakukan adalah pelatihan untuk guru Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini dan kader Pemberdayaan Kesejahteraan Keluarga mengenai urgensi internalisasi karakter cinta lingkungan pada anak. Kegiatan ini merupakan bagian dari Program Kampung Cinta Lingkungan atau disingkat dengan Program Kacintaan. Kegiatan ini telah melibatkan 27 orang guru Pendidikan anak usia dini dan juga kader Pemberdayaan Kesejahteraan Keluarga di Kelurahan Jatinegara Kaum, Kecamatan Pulo Gadung, Kota Jakarta Timur, Provinsi DKI Jakarta. Kegiatan pelatihan berlangsung selama dua hari, yaitu pada tanggal 9-10 Agustus 2022. Kegiatan pelatihan terdiri atas persiapan, pelaksanaan, monitoring dan evaluasi, serta penyusunan luaran kegiatan. Kegiatan pelatihan diawali dengan pemaparan materi oleh narasumber. Materi yang dibahas adalah komponen pembentukan karakter dalam pemeliharaan lingkungan, indikator karakter cinta lingkungan, serta strategi menumbuhkan karakter cinta lingkungan. Setelah pemaparan materi, peserta melakukan diskusi kelompok untuk mengidentifikasi capaian karakter cinta lingkungan. Di akhir kegiatan, peserta diberikan kesempatan untuk mengidentifikasi media stimulasi yang dapat digunakan untuk internalisasi nilai karakter cinta lingkungan pada anak. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan guru PAUD dan Kader PKK dalam mengintegrasikan materi pembelajaran dan karakter cinta lingkungan mengalami peningkatan. Dengan demikian, peserta kegiatan dapat menerapkan pengetahuan yang diperoleh di lingkungan keluarga dan lingkungan sekolah.

Abstract

Community service activities aim to internalize the character values of orphans using the rainbow rocket educational game media at the Orphanage Dhuafa Raydha Aulia. Lecturers and five students in the Family Welfare Education Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, implement this community service activity. The timing of the activity is May-July 2020. The implementation of this activity involves five administrators and 24 orphans. The steps in implementing the activity are communication with the board, media development, setting the schedule of activities, internalizing character values using the rainbow rocket educational game media, and monitoring and evaluating the implementation of activities. The evaluation activities show a change in the attitude shown by the orphans, especially in the character of self-confidence and hard work. Abstrak Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk menginternalisasikan nilai-nilai karakter anak yatim dengan menggunakan media game edukasi rainbow rocket di Rumah Yatim Dhuafa Raydha Aulia. Dosen dan lima mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Kesejahteraan Keluarga Fakultas Teknik Universitas Negeri Jakarta melaksanakan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini. Waktu pelaksanaan kegiatan Mei-Juli 2020. Pelaksanaan kegiatan ini melibatkan lima pengurus dan 24 anak yatim. Langkah-langkah dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan adalah komunikasi dengan pengurus, pengembangan media, pengaturan jadwal kegiatan, internalisasi nilai-nilai karakter dengan menggunakan media game edukasi rainbow rocket, serta monitoring dan evaluasi pelaksanaan kegiatan. Kegiatan evaluasi menunjukkan adanya perubahan sikap yang ditunjukkan oleh anak yatim terutama pada karakter percaya diri dan kerja keras.

Abstract

As an effort to break the chain of spreading Covid-19, the campus is implementing Distance Learning activities. There are many things that educators must prepare in carrying out distance learning activities, one of which is a platform for conducting exams. This study aims to analyze the exam platforms that are chosen by undergraduate students during Distance Learning activities. This research is quantitative descriptive. This study involved 119 students who were randomly selected. The research data was collected using Google Form. The data that has been collected were analyzed using descriptive analysis. The results showed that students chose Quizizz as a fun exam platform during Distance Learning activities. The reason is that students consider Quizizz to have an attractive design, easy to access, fun and challenging, and provide information about the results obtained and feedback. Thus, Quizizz can be an alternative choice for lecturers in giving exams to students, especially in Distance Learning activities.
