Abstract

Bali is regarded as one of the most interesting places as a tourist destination, which is very frequently visited by tourists from all over the world. One of the recent phenomena in Balinese tourism is marked by the significant increasing number of Russian tourists. In regards to this matter; oil stakeholders should be ready in giving the maximum services in order to maximaize the business oppor­tunity. The purpose of this study is to find out a clear picture of the characters of the Russian tourists which can influence services given to satisfy the needs and expectation of the tourists themselves. The understanding of the character of Russian tourists is really needed for bridging the cultural gap resulted from the interaction activity of giving services to the tourists. Consequently, the indicator of the service quality in the tourism industry can be realized in the form of satis­faction and positive impression from the given services.

Abstract

Kinerja seorang pramuwisata sangat penting terhadap kepuasan wisatawan ketika wisatawan tersebut melakukan aktivitas wisata di sebuah destinasi. Salah satu faktor penting untuk memberikan kepuasan wisatawan adalah melalui penguasaan bahasa, karena jika pramuwisata menguasai suatu bahasa dengan baik, maka komunikasi akan berjalan lancar dan semua informasi dapat tersampaikan dengan baik. Dalam hal ini, penguasaan bahasa Rusia yang tergolong masih baru di industri pariwisata Bali sangat diperlukan oleh wisatawan Rusia untuk mendapatkan informasi yang memadai tentang kebudayaan masyarakat lokal.   Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menelaah tentang peningkatan penguasaan bahasa Rusia oleh pramuwisata sebagai sebuah kualitas pelayanan untuk kepuasan wisatawan Rusia. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif kualitatif yang datanya dikumpulkan melalui observasi terhadap penanganan wisatawan Rusia di lapangan, wawancara langsung dengan pramuwisata, dan studi dokumen. Data yang telah diklasifikasikan dianalisis dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif berdasarkan paradigma metodologis induktif. Hasil analisis data disajikan dengan metode formal dan informal. Berdasarkan tuntutan wisatawan Rusia untuk mendapatkan pelayanan prima, penguasaan bahasa Rusia pramuwisata telah mengalami peningkatan yang sangat signifikan. Peningkatan penguasaan bahasa Rusia sebagai kompetensi komunikatif pramuwisata berkontribusi positif terhadap peningkatan kualitas layanan untuk kepuasan wisatawan Rusia.

Abstract

A professional tour guide is regarded as a front-liner of the tourism and the ambassador of his/her country. Therefore, the performace of a tour guide is very important as a quality assurance of services in order to fulfill the tourists’ satisfaction. One of the important things to satisfy the tourists is through mastering the language, because if the tour guide speaks the language fluently and accurately, the commucation will be well maintained and all information can be successfully delivered. In this case, mastering Russian language, which is categorized into one of the latest foreign languages in the tourism business of Bali, is deemly needed by the Russian tourists in order to get sufficient information about the culture of the indigenous community. This study aimes at investigating the mastery level of the tour guide’s Russian language related to the struggle of symbolic capital between foreign representatives and local tour guides. By applying a descriptive qualitative research, the data was collected through observation, interview, and document review. The theory used to undertake this study is Bourdieu’s social practice theory which involves capital, habitus, and field. The data that has been classified is analyzed by qualitative descriptive method with an inductive-metodological paradigm which is seting up the discussion from particular principles to the general in order to obtain a conclusion. The result of data analys is presented by formal and informal method. The study reveals that the mastery of Russian language for a professional tour guide has been proven to compete with foreign tour guides in preserving the Balinese culture and empowering local community in tourism participation. Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui kesalahan pelafalan bunyi dalam bahasa Rusia oleh para karyawan yang meng-handle wisatawan Rusia di Bali serta memberikan cara untuk mengoreksi kesalahan tersebut dari segi ilmu linguistik. Bahasa Rusia, yang masuk dalam rumpun bahasa Slavia dan banyak digunakan oleh para karyawan perusahaan yang meng- handle wisatawan Rusia di Bali, memiliki susunan gramatika dan fonetik jauh lebih kompleks dibandingkan dengan bahasa Indonesia dan Inggris (Fadillah:2006). Secara fonetik, terdapat beberapa huruf bahasa Rusia yang tidak terdapat dalam bahasa Indonesia dan Inggris, seperti э [e], ж [zh], щ [shy], ь (tanda pelunak), ы [euy], dan ъ (tanda pengeras) yang sering menimbulkan masalah dalam pelafalan bunyi kata yang berisi huruf-huruf tersebut. Kesalahan pelafalan bunyi huruf dalam bahasa rusia terjadi karena adanya interpensi dari bahasa ibu (native tongue), juga kurangnya pengetahuan tentang artikulasi bunyi huruf tersebut. Koreksi terhadap kesalahan pelafalan bunyi dalam bahasa Rusia mutlak dilakukan untuk meningkatkan jasa pelayanan terhadap kunjungan wisatawan Rusia yang semakin meningkat setiap tahunnya. Abstract This research attempts to discuss the mistake of pronunciation in Russian language committed by the workers who are handling Russian tourists in Bali and give some correction of the mistake in linguistics. Russian language which is belong to Slavia group and it is widely used by the workers of a company which is handling Russian tourists in Bali, has much more complicated grammatical and phonetical pattern than Indonesian and English (Fadillah:2006). Phonetically, there are some letter which are found neither in Indonesian nor in English, like э [e], ж [zh], щ [shy], ь (a soft sign), ы [euy], dan ъ (a hard sign). If these letters are occurred in words they will often cause some problems in pronunciation. The mistake of pronunciation in Rusian is mostly commited due to the interference of the native tongue and also lack of phonological knowledge on the proper sounds of the language. Correction of the mistakes is absolutely needed in order to increase the quality of service towards the Russian tourists who are getting increased and increased every year.

Abstract

Behind the COVID-19 pandemic that has hit the whole world, there are blessings in disguises. One of them is millennial students can utilize the museum as a means of developing values of their characters. The purpose of this study is to examine the contribution of millennials to the development of Batur Geopark Museum. By applying a qualitative research method, the primary data were collected through observations and interviews. Secondary data was obtained from relevant authorities, news, and literature reviews. The results of the study explain the mutual benefits between students and the Batur Geopark Museum. For millennial students, they benefit in the form of visual references and experiences of past historical events. On the other hand, the Batur Geopark Museum get leverage from the millenials’ visits through on the job training (OJT) programs and student industrial visits. This will be followed by information exchange, social media activities and enhanced electronic word-of-mouth (EWOM).
