Abstract

Usahatani padi dengan sistem organik bukan merupakan hal baru dalam komoditas padi. Pasca Revolusi Hijau yang akhir-akhir ini dirasakan dampak negatifnya, telah banyak menggugah kesadaran petani akan pentingnyasistem pertanian organik yang lebih ramah lingkungan. Namun demikian, peralihan dari sistem usahatani padi yang konvensional menuju ke sistem usahatani padi organik tidak dengan mudah diterima petani. Isu kerusakan ekosistem sawah tidak begitu saja mengubah perilaku petani untuk beralih ke sistem usahatani organik. Minimnya pengetahuan petani akan sistem usahatani padi organik, memperlambat laju peralihan dari usahatani padi konvensional ke usahatani padi oganik. Tantangan menjadi semakin berat tanpa adanya insentif yang berarti bagi para petani padi organik karenaperbedaan harga yang diterima petani antara padi organik dan kovensional hanya berbeda sedikit. Alih-alih menambah jumlah petani dan luas lahan sawah yang ditanamai padi dengan sistem organik, petani yang telah menggunakan sistem organik setelah berhitung secara ekonomi banyak yang kembali beralih ke sistem konvensional. Berbagai paradoks persoalan usahatani padi organik ini dianalisis dengan menggunakan pendekatan berpikir sistem (system thinking) dalam suatu struktur diagram kausalitas. Masih diperlukan upaya yang lebih keras dan masif untuk meningkatkanproduksi organik dari aspek luas lahan dan petaninya terutama pada aspek sosial dan ekonomi yang secara langsung dialami oleh para petani.

Abstract

Masa pandemi covid-19 merupakan masa dimana lebih banyak menggunakan waktu di rumah, untuk menghindari terpaparnya virus tersebut. Pemanfaatan waktu ini bisa digunakan secara positif dengan memanfaatkan lahan pekarangan yang ditanami sayuran, tabulampot dan tanaman hias secara organik. Kondisi ini menjadi menarik sebagai topik pengabdian pada masyarakat (PPM) yang dikemas dalam Pengabdian Masyarakat terintegrasi dengan KKN Mahasiswa. Oleh karena itu metode yang digunakan adalah metode blended antara daring (virtual) dan sebagian kecil luring dengan protokol kesehatan yang ketat. Sasaran (mitra) PPM adalah yang bisa menguasai smartphone atau laptop, sehingga terjaring  mitra (sasaran) adalah golongan masyarakat yang usianya muda dan berpendidikan SMA serta mahasiswa yang hobby bertani. Mitra mahasiswa KKN berdomisili di sekitar tempat tinggal mahasiswa yaitu di perkotaan dan  menyebar di beberapa kota Jawa Barat. Materi yang diberikan ialah tentang pertanian organik, pembuatan pupuk organik nabati, pupuk organik cair, pembuatan pestisida organik dan aplikasi pemanfaatan pekarangan dengan usaha tani bunga telang organik. Pada saat pre-test tingkat pengetahuan sebagian besar sudah tinggi namun tingkat keterampilan masih rendah, namun setelah diberikan pelatihan terjadi perubahan semua aspek baik pengetahuan, sikap dan keterampilan meningkat.

Abstract

Cidahu farmer group is a farmer group that started cultivating organic rice since 2005. Poktan Cidahu has a partnership with Gapoktan Simpatik as a formal institution that houses farmers in marketing organic rice production for domestic and export markets. Changes in demand from Simpatik Farmers Association to Farmers in the midst of the Covid-19 Pandemic led to several changes in farming activities and actions to fulfill the needs of farmer households. The purpose of this study is to describe the adaptation strategies carried out by organic rice farmers in the Covid-19 era. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach in the Cidahu Farmer Group. Data collection techniques used are in-depth interviews, online interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis in this study used data collection techniques, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that farmers are making efforts to make adjustments to the changes caused by the Covid-19 Pandemic by implementing active, passive, network and field activity strategies. Based on this research, according to farmers, by implementing this strategy, they are able to minimize farmers from exceeding subsistence limits, be able to fulfill household needs and adapt to the situation amid the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Abstract

Historically, Tasikmalaya Regency is the embryo of the development of lowland rice in eastern Indonesia. Since the 7th century, rice culture has been institutionalized in the lake community, strengthened by the printing of the first rice fields in Sukapura in the 17th century by Regent Wiradadahan. In its development (at the present time), paddy fields continue to decrease, most recently in 2018 an area of 4023 hectares has been converted. However, the number of farmer households using agricultural land, increased by 3.02% and RTP Gurem increased by 3.88%, even the number of farmers increased by 49.60%. This phenomenon indicates the dependence of the Tasikmalaya community on the rice field farming sector. The question is what is the motivation of farmers in lowland rice farming. The purpose of this study was to determine the motivation of farmers in lowland rice farming. This research used a qualitative method with a case study technique. The technique of determining informants was carried out deliberately. Data collection techniques were carried out by in-depth interviews, observation and FGD. Data analysis was carried out by means of data reduction, data display, and conclusions. The result of their research on their motivation to do business is social motivation to maintain self-existence, without neglecting economic motivation.

Abstract

Cianjur Regency is known as the top ten rice producers in West Java, precisely in the fifth position. Rice from Cianjur is not only known at the local level, but also known at the regional and even national level. One of the well-known rice varieties is the pandanwangi variety, namely the local bulu variety (javanica) Cianjur Agriculture Service, 2011. This rice variety has several advantages, in addition to delicious taste, pandanus fragrance and the price is much more expensive than premium rice. However, recently the pandanwangi rice planting area continues to decrease, even in 2017 the harvest area is only 14 930 hectares. This phenomenon indicates that there is a discrepancy between the behavior of farmers and the support of the government, which makes pandanwangi rice an icon of the city of Cianjur. The question arises how the behavior of farmers in farming pandanwangi rice. The purpose of this study was to determine the perceptions and motivations of farmers to plant pandanwangi rice; and farmers' income from pandanwangi rice farming. Design This study uses a quantitative design with a survey technique on 88 farmers in Warungkondang District, Cianjur. The results of the research on farmers' perceptions of the geographical environment are very supportive; government support is very good, and the motivation of farmers to plant fragrant pandan rice in addition to maintaining the availability of household food, has made pandanwangi an icon of the city of Cianjur.

Abstract

PG Madukismo, salah satu sentra agroindustri gula terbesar di Indonesia dan merupakan perusahaan agroindustri berbasis tebu yang memproduksi gula secara profesional. Tujuan penelitian yaitu mengkaji profil masyarakat yang bekerja dan tidak bekerja di PG Madukismo dan menganalisis hubungan karakteristik masyarakat terhadap pendapatan masyarakat di sekitar perusahaan, Desa Tirtonirmolo. Sample terbagi dalam 2 kategori, 12 responden masyarakat yang bekerja dan 57 responden masyarakat yang tidak bekerja di PG Madukismo. Penelitian menggunakan desain kuantitaif dan teknik survey. Analisis data sekunder dengan analisis deskriptif dan uji chi-square dilakukan dalam penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan masyarakat yang bekerja di PG Madukismo didominasi oleh laki-laki berusia >21 tahun dengan tingkat pendidikan SMA, mayoritas jarak tempuh para karyawan >300m hingga >1500m, dengan lama tinggal >15 tahun sebanyak 7 orang dan <15 tahun sebanyak 5 orang. Masyarakat yang tidak bekerja di PT Madukismo didominasi  perempuan berusia >21 tahun dengan rerata tingkat pendidikan SMA. Mayoritas masyarakat yang tidak bekerja di PT Madukismo bekerja sebagai karyawan swasta. Pendapatan mayoritas sebesar Rp1.600.000,00–Rp3.500.000,00 dengan tanggungan 3-5 orang dengan jarak dan lama tinggal sama seperti karyawan PT Madukismo. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan keterkaitan antara karakteristik masyarakat di Desa Tirtonirmolo dan pendapatan.

Abstract

Rice is a basic need for some Indonesian people. One of the policies to increase paddy rice production carried out by the government during the Old Order and the New Order era was the intensification and extensification program. Development programs through extensification are mainly carried out outside Java through the transmigration program. One of the provinces that have carried out rice field extensification by inviting transmigrants in Papua Province, especially Merauke Regency. Lowland rice production in 2021 will reach 199,214.00 tonnes, making it worthy of being called a rice barn in eastern Indonesia. The main contributors to this increase in production are transmigrant farmers from Java. Javanese farmers are known as farmers whose social exchange values are dominant in farming. But the reality is that in the transmigration area, paddy rice farming activities are full of high technology, and all farmers sell their produce in rice. The question arises, what drives farmers to make these decisions? Are these farmers rational? This research aims to know the farmer's decision to cultivate lowland rice. This research is qualitative with a case study technique in Kurik District, Merauke Regency. The analysis used is descriptive. The results of the research on farmers' decision to cultivate paddy according to their ancestral knowledge, government program to make the location for paddy fields, economic motivation and instrumental rationality.

Abstract

Pada masa pandemi Covid-19, WHO menganjurkan masyarakat termasuk mahasiswa untuk mengkonsumsi makanan yang baik guna meningkatkan imunitas tubuh. Salah stu jenis makanan yang dapat meningkatkan imun tubuh adalah makanan Fermentasi akan tetapi ralitanya masyarakat indonesia masih rendah dalam mengkonsumsi makanan fermentasi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah Menjelaskan faktor-faktor apa saja yang berhubungan dengan pola konsumsi makanan fermentasi . Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kuantitatif dengan metode survei dan teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah uji chi-square . Responden penelitian ini merupakan mahasiswa Universitas Padjadjaran dengan ukuran sampel 60 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Terdapat hubungan antara faktor motivasi dan faktor peran teman sebaya terhadap variabel frekuensi konsumsi makanan fermentasi. ABSTRACTDuring the Covid-19 pandemic, WHO advised the public, including students, to consume good food to increase body immunity. One type of food that can increase the body's immunity is fermented food, but the reality is that Indonesian people are still low in consuming fermented food. The purpose of this study is to explain what factors are related to the pattern of consumption of fermented foods. This study uses a quantitative design with a survey method and the analytical technique used is the chi-square test. Respondents in this study were students of Padjadjaran University with a sample size of 60 people. The results showed that there was a relationship between motivational factors and peer factors on the variable frequency of consumption of fermented foods.
