Abstract

The aim of the study is to develop a biology practicum guide on the concept of the digestive system to develop students' critical thinking skills, to determine eligibility, and to determine student responses to the biology practicum guide. The research method is the research and development (R&D) method by using the Sugiyono model. The research was conducted in October 2021 at SMAN 2 Serang City. The population in the study was 10 students from class XI SMAN 2 at Serang City High School, school year 2021/2022. Data retrieval and collection techniques are carried out by spreading questionnaires and interviews, while data analysis techniques using guttman scales and likert scales are used to test the feasibility of the biology practical guides that have been created. The validity assessment from the material expert for the Biology Practicum Guide received a score of 85% and the score from the media expert got a score of 86%. Both values are very feasible in the category. The result of the students' response test was a 98.6% score, which was very feasible in the category. Thus, it can be concluded that the Biology Practicum Guide on the concept of the digestive system was very feasible to use to develop critical thinking skills in students.

Abstract

Keberadaan hutan mangrove memiliki fungsi dan manfaat yang sangat besar. Ekosistem mangrove yang tumbuh di sepanjang garis pantai atau di pinggiran sungai yang dipengaruhi oleh pasang surut perpaduan antara air sungai dan air laut. Campur tangan manusia ataupun aktivitas manusia sangat berpengaruh terhadap perkembangan ekosistem mangrove. Semakin banyak manfaat dan keuntungan ekonomis yang diperoleh, maka semakin berat pula beban kerusakan lingkungan yang ditimbulkan. Sebaliknya makin sedikit manfaat dan keuntungan ekonomis, makin ringan pula kerusakan lingkungan yang ditimbulkannya. Melalui pengkembangan teknologi yang berkembang sangat cepat di abad ke 21 ini memberikan fasilitas kemudahan dalam membangun kesadaran masyarakat terkait pendidikan konservasi mangrove. Perkembangan teknologi dalam dunia pendidikan misalnya media edukasi berbasis teknologi seperti Augmented Reality (AR). Buku berbasis AR merupakan suatu terobosan dalam pendidikan konservasi diharapkan dapat memberikan kesadaran masyarakat dan akan berdampak pada peningkatan minat masyarakat akan pentingnya pelestarian dan konservasi.

Abstract

This research aims to determine student’s critical thinking ability profile through Group Investigation (GI) learning model on the biological motion systems concept at SMAN 7 Kota Serang. This research used a descriptive method. The population in this research were students of class XI IPA at SMAN 7 Kota Serang and sample were class XI IPA 1 which taken by simple random sampling technique. The data was collected by using essay test to determine student’s critical thinking ability. The result showed that student’s critical thinking ability of SMA Negeri 7 Kota Serang classically include in very critical category as much as 85,20%. Distribution of students in each category of critical thinking ability is 58.82% categorized as critical, 35.29% are very critical, and 5.88% are quite critical.

Abstract

Microteaching activities are part of the course of Teaching Competence Development. This course is designed to equip students with basic teaching skills, teacher competence, teacher / educator ethics, and teaching practice (microteaching). This research used descriptive method for identification and analysis of micro teaching instrument based on lecturer appraisal and peer assessment of student followed by development method (Research And Development). The micro teaching assessment instrument currently used does not include the basic teaching skills aspects a teacher must possess. Therefore, in this research, the development of micro teaching assessment instrument in the course of Teaching Competence Development is based on basic teaching skill to improve teaching skill for biology teacher candidate. The result of instrument analysis by the experts found that on the aspect of Basic Teaching Skills obtained the value of 89.06, the aspect of the language 100, and the evaluation aspect 100. The results of the calculation of both experts averaged and obtained the value of the feasibility of 91.25%. These results indicate that the product of the Micro Teaching Instrument based on the Basic Teaching Skills developed into the category is very feasible.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the learn from home strategy during the Covid-19 pandemic using the Youtube Platform in teaching competency development for biology education students. The method used in this research is a descriptive method, using a questionnaire on student responses to the learning process. The sample used was Biology Education students, FKIP Untirta who took teaching competency development courses. The research was conducted when students were studying PKM courses at Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University. The research instrument used was a questionnaire response to the learning process of Biology education students. The results of this study showed that learning to use the Youtube Platform when learning from home during the Covid-19 pandemic is an alternative that can be used in the learning process. As many as 82.10% of students feel that using Youtube provides effectiveness and efficiency in learning biology; 78.84% of students are very enthusiastic about using Youtube; and 76.70% of students feel that there is an attractiveness in being featured on Youtube as a distance learning medium. Keywords: Covid-19, Basic Teaching Skills, Learn From Home, Youtube

Abstract

21st century skills are currently skills that are being widely developed through learning, one of which is collaboration skills. The aim of this research was to analyze the profile of students' collaboration skills through learning using the EDP model. Students were directed to overcome environmental pollution in Banten. Qualitative descriptive was a research method that used with a sample of 30 Biology Education students. The instrument used of this research was questionnaire with data collection techniques using self-assessment. There were five indicators observed, namely listening and respecting others, being flexible and compromising, working efficiently, being responsible and contributing actively. The results of the analysis show that the collaboration skills of Biology Education students with EDP learning show a very high level with an average score of 88.37.
