Abstract

Abstrak: Tanah merupakan medium alami untuk pertumbuhan tanaman daratan. Tersusun atas padatan, cairan dan gas. Tanah adalah tubuh alam bebas, tersusun atas bahan mineral dan organik, memiliki lapisan-lapisan yang berbeda dengan bahan induk. Degradasi Daerah Aliran Sungai (DAS) umumnya disebabkan oleh lahan gundul, erosi pada lereng-lereng curam yang digunakan untuk pertanian. Sub DAS Suco masuk dalam DAS Mayang Kabupaten Jember. Sungai Mayang memiliki panjang 24,5 km yang bermuara di Kecamatan Ambulu. Pemilihan sebuah MDS yang representatif dari sifat tanah terpilih menggunakan Principal Component Analysis (PCA). PCA untuk ekstraksi faktor digunakan faktor prosedur reduksi data menggunakan  perangkat lunak SPSS 15 (SPSS Inc.). Indeks kualitas tanah disusun berdasarkan nilai pembobot (weighted) yang didapatkan dari pembagian antara % varian dengan % kumulatif. Empat komponen utama dengan enam indikator MDS. Faktor pembobot yang dihasilkan PC1, PC2, PC3, dan PC4 berturut-turut adalah 0,398, 0,258, 0,195, dan 0,148. Penggunaan lahan yang kompleks tersebut memiliki indeks kualitas tanah terendah akibat terletak pada kelerengan tertinggi dengan klasifikasi bergunung. Hal ini memungkinkan terjadinya erosi tanah.Kata Kunci: DAS, Kualitas Tanah, Evaluasi LahanAbstract: Soil is a natural medium for the growth of land plants. Composed of solids, liquids and gases. The selection of an MDS that represents soil properties was selected using principal component analysis (PCA) (Doran and Parkin, 1994). PCA for the extraction of factors used data reduction procedure factors using SPSS 15 software (SPSS Inc.). The soil quality index is arranged based on the weighted value (weighted) obtained from the division between% variation and cumulative%. The four main components with six MDS indicators. The weighting factors produced by PC1, PC2, PC3, and PC4 produced respectively were 0.398, 0.258, 0.195, and 0.148. Abstract

Mangrove atau di Indonesia biasa disebut bakau adalah nama sekelompok tumbuhan dari marga Rhizophora, suku Rhizophoraceae. Tumbuhan ini memiliki ciri-ciri yang mencolok, yaitu berupa akar tunjang yang besar dan berkayu, pucuk yang tertutup daun penumpu yang meruncing, serta buah yang berkecambah serta berakar ketika masih di pohon (vivipar). Hutan mangrove terdapat di sepanjang garis pantai di kawasan tropis, dan menjadi pendukung berbagai jasa ekosistem, termasuk produksi perikanan dan siklus unsur hara. Namun luas hutan mangrove telah mengalami penurunan sampai 30–50% dalam setengah abad terakhir ini. Termasuk kondisi ekosistem mangrove khususnya di Jawa Timur sebagian besar rusak, sebagai akibat kekurangan pemahaman, kurangnya kepedulian baik masyarakat maupun stakeholder yang terkait. Tujuan dan sasaran tersebut dicapai melalui kegiatan kunjungan ke stakeholder (dinas/instansi) terkait dengan pengembangan dan pengelolaan ekosistem mangrove di wilayah kabupaten yang memiliki kawasan pantai, untuk melakukan pendekatan dan serap informasi mengenai kondisi mangrove dan pengelolaannya, kemudian kita menjalin pendekatan melalui workshop dan praktik pembibitan serta kegiatan penanaman 1500 bibit mangrove di lahan seluas 3 Ha sebagai bagian dari program untuk menciptakan alternatif pendapatan dari sektor pengelolaan lingkungan. Kegiatan pengabdian terutama ditujukan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran dan kepedulian masyarakat di wilayah pesisir terhadap pengembangan dan pengelolaan ekosistem mangrove, dengan target khusus tersusunnya strategi pengembangan dan pengelolaan ekosistem mangrove serta terbentuknya Kelompok Kerja Petani Mangrove di wilayah Desa Agel, Kecamatan Jangkar Kabupaten Situbondo. Harapannya, kedepan masyarakat di wilayah pesisir semakin berdaya memiliki alternatif pendapatan yang sekaligus juga dalam rangka menjaga ekosistem alami di wilayah pesisir dan menjadikan kawasan pesisir khususnya kawasan hutan mangrove nantinya menjadi kawasan ekoeduwisata yang menarik bagi para pengunjung, lebih jauh lagi tujuan inti dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah pengembangan dan pengelolaan ekosistem mangrove secara berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Results of previous research have proven that soil organic matter (humic and biochar compounds) can increase and maintain soil fertility and protect environmental resilience. The purpose of this study was to increase the abundance of microorganisms in young soil (regosol) with biopelet fertilizer composed of a combination of biochar, chicken manure, and shrimp waste to improve soil fertility. The experimental design used was a randomized block design with two factors, namely the composition and dosage of biopelets. The compositions of biopelet were 70% biochar, 15% chicken manure and 15% fish waste (B1); 50% biochar, 25% chicken manure and 25 % fish waste (B2): and 20% biochar, 40% chicken manure and 40% fish waste (B3). The dosage used was four levels (0, 2.5, 5, and 10 t/ha).The results showed that the application of biopelet fertilizer to the regosol soil reduced soil pH from slightly alkaline to near neutral, and the addition of up to 10 t biopelet/ha increased soil organic C content from 1.17% to 1.72%, as well as increasing the availability of N, P, and K nutrients. Improvement in pH, organic-C, and soil macronutrients was followed by an increase in the abundance of soil microorganisms, especially bacteria.

Abstract

Most of the activities of the use of organic fertilizers and natural additions of organic matter in agricultural intensification fields in Indonesia have not been able to compensate for the rate of decline in soil organic matter by the decomposition process. Biochar has a high C level and has the mean residence time in a long period in the soils. It has been proven that biochar applications may increase soil Carbon but have not been able to increase plant production. Therefore, the use of biochar combined with organic waste rich in nutrients is essential to develop. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of some biochar compositions with sugar cane, chicken manure, fish waste in the form of biopellet fertilizer on improving the chemical properties of sandy soils and the vegetative growth of soybean plants. This study used a completely randomized block design with two factors. The first factor (B) was the composition of biochar consisting of three levels, namely: 70% biochar, 15% chicken manure, 15% fish waste (B1), 50 % biochar, 25% chicken manure, 25% fish waste (B2), and 20% biochar, 40% chicken manure, 40% fish waste (B3). The second factor (D) was the dose of biopellet fertilizers consisting of four levels, namely: control (D0), 2.5 t/ha (D1), 5 t/ha (D2), and 10 t/ha (D3). The results showed that the addition of biopellet fertilizer effectively improved soil chemical properties (pH, C-organic, and CEC) and the availability of N, P, and K of the sandy soil. The effectiveness of increasing the soil total-N varied from 32.42 to 75.79%, P-available varied from 17.46 to 40.69%, and exchangeable K ranged from 8.7 to 25.67%. Improvement of soil chemical properties and the availability of N, P, and K by biopellet fertilizer application increased plant growth but reduced the weight of root nodules.

Abstract

Citatah karst area is the oldest kars in West Java that located in District Cipatat West Bandung Regency. Karst area in Cipatat District Gunung Masigit Village has 1,053 Ha area, one of the areas that have a potential of cultural heritage and geological reserves. Mining activities conducted in the kars area Citatah Gunung Masigit Village, in the form of active mining and post mining, resulting in decreased quality of physical, chemical, and biological soil fertility. To solve problems in post-mining areas, governments should be able to replace community livelihoods (such as limestone mining) to agriculture, farming, tourism and the creative economy. Through the efforts of plant revegetation. Several options plan that will be developed based on environmental, social, and economic conditions. Selection of plants for revegetation purposes, will be analyzed using Analytical Hierarcy Process (AHP), while to know the public response to revegetation and soil fertility assessment, will be analyzed descriptively. Based on the results obtained from the community response level, a positive response from the AHP analysis of the agrotourism revegetation program has a relative value of 0.834 states agreement for revegetation program with each positive response given that the most positive response is a conative response of 0.395, continued by cognitive response 0.277, affective response 0.199, while the relative value of the lowest response were shown in the negative response of 0.13. On the type of election plant revegetation, has acquired the plant revegetation well developed based on the relative value of the highest to the lowest of which is; 1). Corn (0.338 the highest crop species to be a revegetation commodity in both of social, economic and environmental conditions, 2). Guava (0,216), 3). Albasiah (0.109), 4). Cassava (0.084), 5). Soybean (0,043), 6) Cucumbers, Bananas, yam each have a relative value (0.042). Albasiah and nuts, can be used as pioneer plants to improve the fertility of the land before being developed in fruit and vegetable crops.

Abstract

The suitability of typical rice varieties in Tegalampel Sub-District, Bondowoso District. The need for rice is increasing every year. Rice production is inseparable from paddy production in the field. Paddy production on the field will be optimal if the variety matches the soil and land characteristics. This research is an exploratory study to evaluate the suitability of the typical location of paddy varieties in Tegalampel Sub-District, Bondowoso District. The research was conducted in August-December 2020 in Tegalampel District, Jember Regency, and soil analysis at the Soil Fertility Laboratory of the University of Jember. The research method uses a survey method which is divided into 3 stages: literature study, field survey, and data analysis. The results showed Tegalampel Sub-District has the potential to be planted with paddy divided into 3 land uses with a height of <700 m asl with rainfall <2000 mm / year, namely irrigated rice fields, rain-fed rice fields, and dry fields / dry land. Suitability of rice varieties for irrigated rice fields namely Ciherang, Inpari 1, Inpari 6 Jete, Mekongga by 16.60%; suitability of rice varieties for rain-fed rice fields are varieties Inpari 10, Inpari 12, Inpari 13, Inpari 18, Inpari 19, Inpari 20, Inpari 38, Inpari 39, Inpari 40, Inpari 41, Dodokan, Silugonggo by 26.64%; and suitability of rice varieties for dry fields / dry land, namely Inpago 5, Inpago 8, Inpago 9, Inpago 10, Inpago 11, Inpago 12 by 26.35%.

Abstract

Tidal flooding is one of many disasters caused by climate change. Semarang is one of coastal areas that is affected by climate change which brings tidal flooding in some coastal communities especially Tanjung Mas community in North Semarang. The flood is driven by sea level rise and subsidence. Tidal flooding distrupts the communities of Tanjung Mas in term of physical destruction and enviromental destruction. The disruptions are also affecting both their social and economic activities. The secondary data were collected by doing survey in some instutions who already had the data about tidal flooding. After the data were analyzed by using SPSS with cross tabulation analysis, it shows that the period of residency is ( ) 26,543 > ( ) with statistical significance 5%:11,070. Meanwhile, the level of education is ( ) 42,285  > ( ) with statistical significance in 5% : 9,487. The livelihood is ( ) 17,616 > ( ) with statistical significance in 5% : 9,487. The level of income is ( ) 22,196 > ( ) with statistical significance in 5% : 9,487. The level of knowledge is ( ) 13, 328 > ( ) with statistical significance in 5% : 9,488. Those results show that the five factors are the cause of Tanjung Mas community’s reluctance to move from the coastal area and to stay in this tidal risk area.

Abstract

ABSTRAKLahan pertanian mengalami penurunan kesuburan tanah dengan indikasi nilai C-Organik < 1% sangat luas, termasuk di Desa Sekarputih Kabupaten Bondowoso. Masyarakat Desa Sekarputih sebagian besar bermata pencaharian sebagai petani dan peternak. Survei awal menunjukkan bahwa kotoran sapi yang dihasilkan oleh ternak belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal. Banyak kotoran sapi yang dibiarkan begitu saja sehingga menimbulkan masalah lingkungan seperti bau yang menyengat. Tujuan dari program pengabdian ini adalah sosialisasi dan pelatihan pembuatan pupuk organik yang berasal dari kotoran sapi sebagai alternatif untuk meningkatkan bahan organik tanah dan mengurangi permasalahan lingkungan. hasil kegiatan pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa peserta sangat aktif dan antusias dalam bertanya dan menjawab pertanyaan dalam kegiatan sosialisasi, dan antusias aktif dalam praktek langsung pada tahap pelatihan. Kata kunci: pelatihan; pupuk organic; kotoran sapi; ternak. ABSTRACTAgricultural land experienced degradation of soil fertility with indicated C-Organic value < 1% very widely, including in Sekarputih Village, Bondowoso Regency. The people of Sekarputih village mostly make a living as farmers and ranchers. The initial survey shows that cow dung produced by livestock has not been utilized optimally. A lot of cow dung is left alone which causes environmental problems such as a strong odor. The purpose of this service program is socialization and training on the manufacture of organic fertilizer derived from cow dung as an alternative to increasing soil organic matter and reducing environmental problems. the results of the service activities showed that the participants were very active and enthusiastic about asking and answering questions in socialization activities, and enthusiastically active in direct practice at the training stage. Keywords: training; organic fertilizer; cow manure; livestock.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Terdapat berbagai macam potensi ide-ide yang kreatif untuk menjalankan usaha dan kegiatan kewirausahaan namun belum banyak yang tergali secara optimal. Di kalangan masyarakat pedesaan yang ada di Kabupaten Jember khususnya Desa Gumukmas Kecamatan Gumukmas yang menjadi salah satu desa penempatan KKN dengan fokus pada desa wisata dan wirausaha sejahtera dengan obyek pengembangan melalui Hidroponik, pembinanan dan kegiatannya diarahkan menuju kegiatan positif yang bersifat entrepreneurship utamanya melalui karang taruna dan ibu rumah tangga. Jenis-jenis pembinaan dan kegiatan-kegiatan tersebut mengarahkan para generasi muda untuk mengisi waktu luang di sela-sela kegiatan sekolah untuk mempelajari konsep dan teori sains tanah di beberapa aspek. Penumbuhan jiwa kewirausahaan akan mampu memfasilitasi dan menjembatani konsep teori kewirausahaan dan konsep kemandirian khususnya dari sisi pertanian yang potensial yang menjadi aksi nyata dalam implementasi konsep usaha/bisnis ke praktik bisnis dengan menginternalisasikan nilai- nilai kemandirian dan semangat berwirausaha pada generasi muda melalui bercocok tanam, lebih jauh lagi kegiatan tersebut dapat merangsang geliat masyarakat untuk mengembangkan desa wisata berbasis “Kampung Hidroponik”Kegiatan wirausaha di bidang pertanian ini, salah satu faktor yang perlu diperhatikan adalah lahan yang digunakan untuk kegiatan budidaya. lahan yang ada saat ini semakin sempit akibat dari lahan-lahan yang di gunakan untuk kegiatan budidaya di alih fungsikan ke bidang lain seperti industri, perumahan, dan lain-lain meningat lokasi pengabdian yaitu Kecamatan Arjasa merupakan salah satu kecamatan yang berkembang pesat. Oleh sebab itu, kegiatan pertanian berbasis lahan sempit harus mampu mengelolah lahan terbatas untuk mendapatkan hasil yang semaksimal mungkin dengan teknik hidroponik. Berdasarkan uraian analisis situasi tersebut, perlu diadakan pelatihan hidroponik bagi masyarakat khususnya genarasi muda yang terhimpun dalam Karang Taruna dan Ibu rumah tangga, yang menjadi obyek pengembangan untuk menggali potensi yang ada. Dengan diadakannya pelatihan Hidroponik diharapkan mampu memunculkan usaha baru yang bernilai positif dikalangan generasi muda.
