Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tutupan karang keras pada waktu sebelum (tahun 2015) saat (2016) dan sesudah pemutihan karang (2017) di Krueng Raya, Aceh Besar. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan April 2017 di Krueng Raya, Aceh Besar. Pengambilan data dilakukan di 3 stasiun pengamatan menggunakan metode PIT (Point Intercept Transect) yang meliputi: Benteng Inong Balee, Ahmad Rhang Manyang, dan Lhok Mee. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan persentase rata - rata tutupan karang keras tahun 2015 sebesar 52,83% berkategori baik, tahun 2016 sebesar 32,43% berkategori sedang dan tahun pada tahun 2017 persentase tutupan karang keras menjadi 22,90% dan masuk ke dalam kategori rusak. Terdapat sebanyak 16 genus karang (2015), 18 genus karang (2016) dan 8 genus karang 8 (2017). Indeks Mortalitas (IM) tahun 2015 berkisar antara 0,02-0,20 (tingkat kematian karang yang rendah), tahun 2016 berkisar antara 0,13-0,49 (kematian karang rendah), tahun 2017 berkisar antara 0,63-0,79 (tingkat kematian karang tinggi). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa persentase tutupan karang keras mengalami penurunan hingga mencapai ±50% yang diakibatkan oleh pemutihan karang pada Perairan Krueng Raya Aceh Besar. ABSTRACTThe aim of this study was to determine hard coral cover at the time before (2015), during (2016) and after coral bleaching (2017) in Krueng Raya, Aceh besar. This study was conducted on April 2017 in Krueng Raya, Aceh Besar. Data collection was carried out at 3 observation stations using the PIT (Point Intercept Transect) method which included : Fort Inong Balee, Ahmad Rhang Manyang, and Lhok Mee. The results showed that the average percentage of hard coral cover in 2017 was 22.90% (bad category), it was lower than in 2016 32.43% (medium category) and in 2015 was 52.83% (good category). There were found 16 genera of coral (2015), 18 genera of coral (2016), and 8 genera of coral (2017). Mortality Index (MI) in 2015 ranged between 0.02-0.20 (low coral mortality rate), in 2016 ranged between 0.13-0.49 (low coral mortality rate), in 2017 ranged between 0.63-0.79 (high coral mortality rate). The results of this study indicate that the percentage of hard coral cover has decreased to reach 50% due to coral bleaching in the waters of Krueng Raya Aceh Besar.

Abstract

The aims of this research was to determine the optimum concentration of pineapple stem (Ananas comusus) extract in the feed on the growth and protein digestibility of climbing perch (Anabas testudineus). This research was conducted at Aquatic Laboratory in Veterinary Medicine Faculty of Syiah Kuala University on September to November 2014. This research used six treatments with four replicates. The treatments were 0%, 5%, 7.5%, 10%, 12.5%, and 15% pineapple extracts in the diet. The fish fed three times a day at feeding level of 5% body weight for 60 days. The result showed that weight gain ranged from 0.448 g to 1.678 g, the specific growth rate ranged from 0.039% day-1 to- 0.973% day-1, the daily growth rate ranged from 0.007 g day-1 to 0.028 g day-1, and feed conversion ratio ranged from 2.537-7.829, feed efficiency ranged from 12.868% to 40.222%, and protein digestibility ranged from 74% - 86.7%. The ANOVA test showed that addition of pineapple stem extract on the feed gave a significant effect on growth performance, feed conversion ratio, feed efficiency of   climbing perch and the optimum concentration of pineapple stem extract in feed was 5%. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan konsentrasi optimum ekstrak batang nanas (Ananas comusus) dalam pakan untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan daya cerna protein pakan pada ikan betok (Anabas testudineus). Penelitian ini dilakukan di Laboratorium Akuatik Fakultas Kedokteran Hewan Universitas Syiah Kuala pada bulan September hingga November 2014. Penelitian terdiri dari 6 taraf perlakuan dan 4 ulangan.  Perlakuan yang diuji adalah perbedaan konsentrasi ekstrak batang nanas dalam pakan, yaitu 0%, 5% , 7,5% , 10% , 12,5% dan 15% . Ikan beri pakan tiga kali sehari sebanyak 5% dari biomassa selam 60 hari. Hasil penelitian diperoleh pertumbuhan bobot berkisar 0,448 g - 1,678 g, laju pertumbuhan spesifik 0.039% perharisampai 0.973% perhari, laju pertumbuhan harian berkisar antara 0,007 g perhari – 0,028 g perhari, sedangkan rasio konversi pakan berkisar antara 2,537-7,829, efisiensi pakan berkisar antara 12,868% - 40,222 %, dan daya cerna protein berkisar 74% - 86,7%,  nilai tertinggi pada setiap parameter uji dijumpai pada perlakuan 5% ekstrak batang nanas. Hasil uji ANOVA menunjukkan bahwa penambahan ekstrak batang nanas dalam pakan berpengaruh nyata terhadap pertumbuhan bobot, pertumbuhan spesifik, pertumbuhan harian, konversi pakan, dan efisiensi pakan ikan betok, serta hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan ekstrak batang nanas dalam pakan meningkatkan daya cerna protein ikan betok (Anabas testudineus). Konsentrasi ekstrak batang nanas terbaik pada penelitian ini adalah 5%.

Abstract

Stabilizing elemental mercury using elemental sulfur has been a laboratory standard method but the studies in gas system are still growing. This study aims to explore the effect of different type immobilized sulfurs toward the mercury vapor uptake in a mini gas reactor. Sulfur powder, sulfur dissolved in carbon disulfide and colloidal sulfur from sodium thiosulfate-hydrochloric acid were immobilized on mini rice-husk-ash pellets that were previously coated with chitosan film. The average thinness of chitosan film was 58 µm covered the each pellet surface with dimension of 3 mm Ø x 4 mm. The trends of the mercury uptake and the rate of absorption were described as follow; Pellet-Scolloid > Pellet-SCS2 > Pellet-Spowder. The mean percentages of mercury uptake after 1 h running at 70oC were 99.36; 89.09 and 75.00 respectively. The reverse trends were observed for the size of S-particle aggregation and the amount of S found on the pellet surface.

Abstract

In continuous concern of marine resources relating to molecular structures that have biological activity around the western part of the Indonesian Archipelago, a marine cyanobacterium species Oscillatoria sp. was found in Sabang Island, Aceh. This study aimed at investigating the chemical and biological contents of Oscillatoria sp. The isolation of the target molecule was carried out based on bioassay-guided separation with several steps of chromatography. In addition, the evaluation of bioactivity was determined by the MTT assay protocol against the human pancreatic cancer Panc-1 cell line. The planar structure of the target molecule was determined by spectroscopic analysis. Results showed that the whole planar structure was identified as cycloheximide-4-acetate (1), a cycloimide class of molecule. Moreover, the relative stereochemistry was confirmed by nuclear overhauser effect (NOE) analysis. Therefore, the molecule was assigned as (2S*,4S*,6S*,7R*)-cycloheximide-4-acetate. The cytotoxicity evaluation of compound 1 showed IC50 value of 0.32 mM against the human pancreatic cancer cell. Dalam perhatian berkelanjutan terhadap sumber daya laut yang berkaitan dengan struktur molekul yang memiliki aktivitas biologis di sekitar bagian barat Kepulauan Indonesia, spesies sianobakteria Oscillatoria sp. ditemukan di Pulau Sabang, Aceh. Penelitian ini bertujuan melakukan investigasi kandungan kimiawi dan biologis dari Oscillatoria sp. Isolasi molekul target dilakukan melalui metode pemisahan berdasarkan uji bioaktivitas dengan menggunakan beberapa tahapan kromatografi. Selain itu, evaluasi bioaktivitas ditentukan oleh protokol uji MTT terhadap sel kanker manusia Panc-1. Struktur planar dari molekul target ditentukan dengan analisis spektroskopi. Hasilnya, struktur planar dari senyawa target diidentifikasi sebagai sikloheksimida-4-asetat (1), kelompok molekul sikloimida. Selanjutnya, relatif stereokimia dikonfirmasi oleh analisis nuclear overhauser effect (NOE). Oleh karena itu, molekul tersebut ditetapkan sebagai (2S*,4S*,6S*,7R*)-sikloheksimida-4-asetat. Evaluasi sitotoksisitas pada senyawa 1 menunjukkan nilai IC50 sebesar 0.32 mM terhadap sel kanker pankreas.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui distribusi kandungan magnetite dari sedimen pada sistemfluvial di Gampong Leungah, Kabupaten Aceh Besar. Pengambilan data dilakukan pada bulan Februari 2017.Sebanyak 10 stasiun ditentukan untuk pengambilan sampelsedimen berdasarkanmetode coring menggunakan pipa paralon yang dimodifikasi dengan diameter 2,5 inchi. Penelitian inimembagi wilayah penelitian menjadi dua kawasan, yaitu daerah aliran sungai dan muara.Lapisansedimen dengan ketebalan 15 cm diproses ayak basah untuk memisahkan sampel berdasarkan ukuranbutir pada tiap fraksinya.Setelah kering sedimen diseparasi menggunakan magnet kuat neodymiumn35 untuk memisahkan bijih besi dari sedimen.Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasimagnetite lebih tinggi pada daerah aliran sungai, dengan ukuran butiran yang lebih kasar.Kondisitersebut menjelaskan bahwa sumber magnetite berasal dari daerah hulu Sungai Leungah danterakumulasi hingga daerah muara dan pantai.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to determine the effect and the optimum concentration of Avicennia leaf extracts on prevalence, hatching rate and hatching time of common carp eggs (Cyprinus carpio) that infected by Saprolegnia sp. The research was conducted at Balai Benih Ikan (BBI) Lukup Badak, Aceh Tengah District in June 2016. The completely randomized design was used as statistical analysis method in this study with five treatments and 4 replications. The fertilized eggs of common carp were infected by Saporolegnia sp. then treated by immersing in the extract. The treatments were the different concentrations of extract, namely; 0, 5, 10, 15 and 20 ppm. The result of ANOVA test showed that the extract Avecenia leaf extracts gave the significant effect on the prevalence, hatching rate and hatching time of common carp eggs (P0.05). The best results for all parameters were recorded at the concentration of 10 ppm. Therefore, it is concluded that the optimum concentration is 10 ppm. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dan konsentrasi optimum ekstrak daun Avicennia marina terhadap prevalensi, daya tetas serta waktu tetas telur ikan mas (Cyprinus carpio) yang terinfeksi Saprolegnia sp. Penelitian dilakukan di Balai Benih Ikan (BBI) Lukup Badak, Kab. Aceh Tengah pada bulan Juni 2016. Analisis statistik menggunakan metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 taraf perlakuan dan 4 kali ulangan. Sampel yang digunakan adalah telur ikan mas yang telah terbuahi dan terinfeksi dengan jamur Saprolegnia sp. kemudian direndam dengan ekstrak. Perlakuan yang dilakukan meliputi perlakuan konsentrasi ekstrak yaitu: 0, 5, 10, 15, 20 ppm. Hasil uji ANOVA menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak daun Avicennia marina berpengaruh nyata (P0,05) terhadap prevalensi serangan jamur, daya tetas serta waktu tetas telur ikan mas. Nilai terbaik untuk semua parameter yang diukur ditemukan pada konsentrasi 10 ppm ekstrak. Oleh karena itu disimpulkan bahwa konsentrasi yang optimum untuk telur ikan mas adalah 10 ppm.

Abstract

Abstract. This study examined the selectivity of ethyl acetate extract of putat air (Barringtonia racemosa) in controlling Pomacea canaliculata compared to local catfish (Clarias batrachus). Five concentration of putat air (25, 50, 100, 200, and 400 ppm) with triplicate were tested in this study. The powder of putat air kernel was extracted through increasing the polarity of solvent, i.e. dichloromethane, ethyl acetate, and methanol. The mortality data were analyzed using Trimmed Spearman Karber (TSK) program version 1.5. The selectivity value was calculated based on LC50 values obtained from TSK. The results showed that (1) LC50 values of putat air's kernel extract of putat air to P. canaliculata and C. batrachus were 25.00 and 87.06 ppm, respectively, (2) the selectivity value of putat air's kernel extract as molluscicide of P. canaliculata was 3.48. Abstract

Abstract. The objective of present study was to evaluate the possibility of  papaya’s latex (Carica papaya) as anti stress or larvaside for tiger shrimp (Panaeus monodon) post larvae Pl 14-30 during transportation. The tiger shrimp post larvae was collected from BBAP Ujung Batee, Aceh Besar on September, 2012. Reseach method used the completely random design with two factors, density of post larvae with three treatments (1000; 1500 dan 2000 ind/l) and concentration of papaya’s latex with four treatments (0; 100; 200 dan 300 ppm) and three replications for each treatments. The effect of papaya’s latex on tiger shrimp post larvae was observed by calculating the percentage of post larvae’s survival rate. The calculation was only done after twelve hours of transportation, due to the everage of survival rate percentage of post larvae on all levels of density was less than 50%.  The ANOVA test showed that  the density and the concentration factors gave significance effect on survival rate of tiger shrimp post larvae (P0,05). The results showed that survival rate of tiger shrimp post larvae (PL 14-30) were decreased with increasing of larvae density and concentration of papaya’s latex.  However, Duncan’s test showed that the highest survival rate was obtained at 1.000 ind/l  and 0 ppm of papaya’s latex. Hence, the effect of papaya’s latex concentration treatments in this study was larvaside on tiger shrimp post larvae.Key words: Closed transportation system, dissolved oxygen, enzyme papain, tiger shrimp post larvae.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the optimal concentration of Moringa oleifera leaf extract as an antibacterial agent on Litopenaeus vannamei larvae that are infected by Vibrio sp.. It was conducted in 15 March - 15 April 2019 at PT. Global Gain Superior Seeds, Pantai Cermin, North Sumatera. The research used a completely randomized design (CRD) method with five treatments and four replications. The shrimps infected by Vibrio sp. were immersed into M. oleifera leaf extract in various concentration of (A) 0 ppm, (B) 400 ppm, (C) 600 ppm, (D) 800 ppm, and (E) 1000 ppm for ±15 minutes. The size of shrimp used was post-larvae 8 (length of 3.5-5 mm/ind). The best performance results of vannamei shrimps were obtained in treatment E (1000 ppm), namely length growth of 16.75 ± 1.16 cm, weight growth of 0.92 ± 0.89 g and survival rate of 91±7.87%.Keywords:Moringa oleiferaVibrio sp.Immersion

Abstract

Abstract. The objective of this research was to study the influence of salinity and buoyancy on hatchability of milkfish eggs (Chanos-chanos). The completely random design was used this study. Two factors i.e. salinity and buoyancy were tested where the salinity with three levels oncentration; 16, 23 and 30 ppt, while the buoyancy with three egg buoyancy categories i.e. floating, drifting and sinking with three replicates respectively. The result showed that the hatchability of floating eggs in tested salinities were 76,7% ; 78,75% ; 91,7%, for 16, 23 and 30 ppt, respectively. Then drifting eggs were 65,3%; 67,0%; 77,0% and sinking eggs were 54,0% ; 55,3% ; 65,0% for 16, 23 and 30 ppt, respectively. In generally, the hatchability was increased with increasing of salinity. In addition, the hatchability of the floating eggs was higher than the sinking eggs. Keyword: Salinity, buoyancy, hatchability, milkfish.
