Abstract

Toba Water Catchment Area (WCA) is approximately 369,854 ha, consists of about 65% land and 35% water. In Lake Toba WCA there is a land area of 235. 217 ha(61.23%) is classified as critical and if it is not conserved will have a major impact on WCA quality. The criticality of the land around WCA Lake Toba gives a significant impact on the aesthetic side of WCA Lake Toba.The village of Lumban Suhi-suhi located in Samosir Regency is one of the tourist destination and found quite a lot of locations with the habitat of Imperata which an indicator of critical land. Local people maintains many endemic goats namely Goat Panorusan Samosir that require good quality feed.Moringa (Moringa oleifera) is a multi-functional plant, as the Moringa (Moringa oleifera) plant has a root nodule that captures N from the air and stores it on the root so Moringa can help fertilize the soil.This dedication has been done in October 2017 in Lumban Suhi-suhi Village, Samosir and the objectives is to train the community to cultivate the Moringa plant (Moringa oleifera). The output of this dedication are the community do conservation by planting Moringa so that Lumban Suhi-suhi village and its surrounding turns green and fertile and there will be available good quality goat feed. It is also expected that Lumban Suhi-suhi village becomes a tourist village that attracts more tourists.

Abstract

Kinerja merupakan kemampuan yang dimiliki dalam menerapkan strategi secara efektif untuk  memastikan tujuan yang ingin dicapai perusahaan dapat diwujudkan. Untuk mencapai tujuan yang diinginkan, perusahaan haruslah meningkatkan kinerja dari periode ke periode berikutnya. Kebun Sidamanik Pematang Siantar PTP Nusantara IV (Persero) merupakan salah satu perusahaan yang bergerak dibidang industri yang menghasilkan teh yang dipasarkan di dalam negeri maupun luar negeri. Seiring dengan persaingan dalam dunia industri yang semakin ketat, Kebun  Sidamanik Pematang Siantar PTP IV (Persero) harus  berusaha untuk  meningkatkan kinerja perusahaan agar perusahaannya dapat bertahan. Untuk itu diperlukan sebuah pengukuran kinerja yang dapat mendukung perusahaan dalam meningkatkan kinerja tersebut. Maka diperlukan suatu pengukuran kinerja  yang lebih baik sehinga dapat diketahui maju mundurnya perusahaan tersebut. Pada penelitian ini, dilakukan pengukuran kinerja di Kebun Sidamanik Pematang Siantar PTP IV (Persero), untuk mengetahui besarnya (%) kinerja perusahaan, sehingga dapat dirumuskan kebijakan/strategi dalam mencapai tujuan perusahaan. Untuk mencapai tujuan perusahaan. Diperlukan strategi objektif dalam pengukuran kinerja. Balance Scorecard merupakan suatu kerangka kerja yang dibutuhkan untuk menurunkan strategi perusahaan. Pemecahan masalah dalam perhitungan besarnya kinerja (%) menggunakan metode Analytic  Network Procces (ANP). Metode ANP yaitu suatu metode pengukuran kinerja yang memperhatikan saling keterkaitan antara strategi objektif objektif yang satu dengan yang lain. Kebun Sidamanik Pematang Siantar PTP IV (Persero) memiliki empat perspektif yang masing-masing memiliki kinerja sebagai  berikut finansial (27.1%), pelanggan (46.4%), proses bisnis internal (9%) serta pertumbuhan dan pembelajaran (17.6%). Besarnya kinerja dari masing-masing strategi objektif di kebun Sidamanik Pematang Siantar  PTP Nusantara IV (Persero) yaitu bisnis growth (4.9%), profitabilitas (6.4%), solvabilitas (4.3%), biaya  operasional (5.5%), pendapatan operasi (4.7%), kepuasan pelanggan (6.8%), peningkatan jumlah  pelanggan (7.9%), karakteristik  produk (7.8%), kemajuan teknologi (4.1%), ramah lingkungan (5.9%), maintenance (5.8%), peningkatan K3 (5.6%), optimalisasi penjualan (4.5%), jumlah tenaga kerja ahli (3.6%), performance appraisal (6.2%), pelatihan  teknologi  informasi (4.7%), sistem informasi (7.4) dan inovasi (4%). Kata kunci: petunjuk penulisan, persiapan makalah, prosiding, seminar.  Abstract Performance is the capabilities to implement effective strategies to ensure corporate objectives are attained. To achieve the desired objectives, companies must improve the performance of the period to the next. Gardens Sidamanik Siantar PTP Nusantara IV (Limited) is one of the companies engaged in industries that produce tea which is marketed in the country and abroad. Along with the competition in the industry intensifies, Garden Sidamanik Siantar PTP IV (Limited) have attempted to improve the performance of the company so that the company can survive. It required a performance measurement which can support companies in improving performance. We need a better performance measurement can be determined so that reciprocation of the company. In this study, we measured the performance of the Garden Sidamanik Siantar PTP IV (Limited), to determine the amount (%) the performance of the company, so as to formulate policies / strategies to achieve company goals. To achieve its goals. Necessary objective in the performance measurement strategy. Balanced Scorecard is a framework that is needed to lower the corporate strategy. Solving problems in the calculation of the performance (%) using the Analytic Network Procces (ANP). ANP method is a method of performance measurement that regard the interplay between objective objective strategies with each other. Gardens Sidamanik Siantar PTP IV (Limited) has four perspectives each has the following financial performance (27.1%), customers (46.4%), internal business processes (9%) as well as growth and learning (17.6%). The magnitude of the performance of each objective in the garden Sidamanik strategy Siantar PTP Nusantara IV (Limited), namely business growth (4.9%), profitability (6.4%), solvency (4.3%), operating costs (5.5%), operating income (4.7 %), customer satisfaction (6.8%), an increase in the number of customers (7.9%), product characteristics (7.8%), technological advances (4.1%), green (5.9%), maintenance (5.8%), an increase in K3 (5.6% ), optimization of sales (4.5%), the number of skilled labor (3.6%), performance appraisal (6.2%), training, information technology (4.7%), information systems (7.4) and innovation (4%). Abstract

The choice of impeller type is an important factor in maximizing the performance of a stirred tank reactor in saponification process. This study aims to determine the type of impeller that can produce the highest reaction rate by taking into account changes in alkali concentration in saponification reactions so as to obtain a shorter residence time. The saponification process was carried out by reacting 30% oil with alkali (KOH) at operating conditions 70C, stirring speed of 400 rpm for 45 minutes using 4 types of impellers namely paddle-2 blades, pitch blade turbine 45°-2 blades, paddle-4 blades, pitch blade turbine 45°-4 blades. Testing of alkali concentration was carried out every 5 minutes until the reaction was complete. Alkali concentration was obtained at the end of the reaction using a paddle-2 blades impeller of 0.182 M with a conversion of 97.35%, a pitch blade turbine 45°-2 blades of 0.142 M with a conversion of 97.93%, paddle-2 blades of 0.106 M with conversion of 98.46%, pitch blade turbine 45°-4 blades of 0.100 M with conversion of 98.54%.

Abstract

Since 2006, Indonesia’s CPO production has surpassed Malaysia’s to be the world largest producer.Nevertheless, Indonesia is evidently lower in productivity. The expectation for new plantation is relatively highdue to the constant increasing demand for CPO, especially for biodiesel related purposes. North Sumateraprovince as the pioneer in palm oil plantation in Indonesia has huge potentials to grow in the future, with theexisting plantation land of 12.71% out of total plantation land in Indonesia. The idea of setting up NorthSumatera as a benchmark in national palm plantation industry is not impossible. For that reason, the plantationrevitalization program should be carried out. The aim of palm oil plantation revitalization program is toincrease competitiveness mainly by increasing productivity. This can be achieved not only through plantationland extent but also by increasing the land productivity per hectare. Hence, it is crucial that the process toidentify all possible efforts in order to increase palm oil plantation productivity in North Sumatera be carriedout. Identification process might start by analyzing all factors affecting palm oil plantation productivity by usinganalytical network process (ANP). Potential factors that have huge impact to increasing land productivity aresuch as plant diseases, seeding, fertilizer selection, fertilizer dosage, appropriate tools and equipment used, typeof land, fertilizing frequency, working procedures, weeding control, pest control, fertilizing technology and seedfertilizing. Population per hectare and plant uniformity up to 31.5%, and fertilizing at 27.6% would contributeas the main factors to be closely monitored and observed further in order to increase palm oil plantationproductivity.Keywords: Palm oil agroindustry, plantation revitalization, productivity, the pioneer in palm oil plantation

Abstract

Limonene in essential oils is highly valuable attracts great interest of consumers due to its specific fragrance. It is not surprising that many big perfume industries are looking for high purified limonene found in essential oils of certain fruits and flowers. This study investigates the extraction process of essential oil from lime peel waste. This study has used two extraction methods, i.e.  maceration method and Soxhlet technique. Two types of organic solvent applied, i.e. hexane and ethanol. This work studies the effect of extraction time, type of organic solvent, and extraction method on yield of extraction. Characterization studies as FTIR (Fourier Transform Infra Red) Spectroscopy related to type of chemical bonding of limonene in essential oil and GC-MS (Gas Chromatography – Mass Spectrometry) related to limonene fragmentation have also investigated.

Abstract

Islamic banking has enormous potential considering that Indonesia has the largest Muslim population in the world. The current performance measurement system for Islamic banks is still financial and non-financial, and there is an imbalance in the actual value of the company because it views financial and non-financial measurements as two important things that are not correlated. A comprehensive performance measurement system is urgently needed considering that Islamic banks must be able to follow market developments, such as the Balanced Scorecard. The aim of this research is to analyze the influence of the financial, customer, internal business, learning, and growth perspectives. Analyze which perspective is the most dominant in influencing the management performance of Islamic Banks. The results of the current research are Islamic banks in the growth stage towards the sustainability stage because they are supported by the application of goal-setting theory. Increasing employee performance satisfaction can be achieved by implementing an optimal system of leadership, motivation, and work spirit. This can be shown by the success of Islamic Banks in getting several awards from the business media.

Abstract

Abstract. A company making palm olein find the results of the productionprocess has some variation of the characteristics of the oil, which is a variation ofcolors, smells, acid number and moisture content. Variations occur due to theheating temperature in the engine Slurry Tank, spiral heat exchange machines anddeodorize machine that changed the conditions required. This resulted in financiallosses for the company. The research was conducted by examining thecharacteristics of the oil, which aims to get real-time comparison of thecharacteristics and expectations of the value characteristics of color, odor, acidnumber and moisture content. Furthermore, the interviews and the cost of losscalculation using the Taguchi Quality Loss Function to improve the characteristicsof the product which is not according to specifications. Research shows loss costper color characteristics of 0.099%, the characteristic odor of 0.077%, thecharacteristics of acid number of 0.1% and the characteristics of the water contentof 0.0002%. While the total cost of loss to Rp 269 319 600 / year. If doneimprovement of production processes, then the resulting cost reductionsamounting to 18.65% or USD 50.2524 million / year. The losses reached 18.65%showed losses during the company is quite large, so it is necessary improvementof the production process to minimize lost production costs.Keywords: Cooking Palm Oil, Taguchi Quality Loss Function, ProductCharacteristics, Production Cost

Abstract

Risk is a factor that hinders supply chain operations that cannot be avoided but can be minimized or eliminated by carrying out appropriate risk management. This research was conducted at a cosmetic factory with a make-to-order business system. The purpose of this research is to identify the various risks that occur, analyze the sources of risk and create mitigation strategies. The method used in this research is the House of Risk Model to identify and determine the priority of the handling strategy. There are 7 risks that become a priority for mitigation, namely sudden demand, increased demand, dependence on one supplier, supplier lead time too long, delays in delivery schedules, inappropriate alternative supplier selection, and delays in the purchasing process. In this case, the planning and sourcing processes must be improved.

Abstract

The purpose of this study to identify the technical needs and requirements of in Langkat District related to the power generation design variables, outlined in the form of a functional and non-functioning questionnaires. The power plant product attributes based on the results of the kano questionnaire distribution revealed that the price attribute and durability of the generator was in the attractive category. while the attributes of ease of operation are included in the one dimensional category. while aesthetics is the only attribute that falls into the indifferent category

Abstract

Perusahaan nasional yang bergerak dalam bidang migas menyelenggarkan kegiatan pada sektor huluadalah PT.XY. Secara garis besar kegiatan operasi yang berlangsung meliputi pengeboran, eksplorasi, dankegiatan produksi dengan hasil akhir yaitu minyak mentah yang disalurkan ke Pangkalan Susu untukpengapalan. Dalam kegiatan produksi menghasilkan limbah gas sisa (flare) sebesar 0.58 mmscfd yang berasaldari 17.05 % dari gas alam yang dihasilkan. Gas flare merupakan gas sisa yang selama ini dilakukanpembakaran melalui flare stack untuk menghindari gas beracun seperti H2S dan CO yang berbahaya bagikesehatan manusia dan lingkungan. Namun aktivitas pembakaran dapat menimbulkan isu pencemaranlingkungan. Melalui pendekatan Green Productivity yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini diharapkan usahareduksi limbah yang dilakukan dapat berpengaruh terhadap perbaikan kondisi lingkungan sekaligus meningkatanproduktivitas perusahaan. Pada penelitian ini, dilakukan identifikasi adanya permasalahan pada perusahaan yangberhubungan dengan jumlah limbah yang berlebih dan berpotensi untuk direduksi. Sebelumnya dilakukanpengukuran produktivitas perusahaan selanjutnya dirumuskan dan dipilih berdasarkan kelayakannya untukdiimplementasikan melalui analisis finansial, dan estimasi kontribusi alternatif terhadap tingkat produktivitasHasil penelitian, didapatkan alternatif solusi untuk mengatasi permasalahan perusahaan dengan memanfaatkankembali gas flare menjadi bahan bakar untuk mesin insinerator. Alternatif ini memberikan kontribusi terhadappeningkatan produktivitas penggunaan material sebesar 23.32 %, manusia 83.8 %, modal 10.13%, dan wastemenurun sebesar 99%. Penerapan Green Productivity dan pemantauan rona lingkungan secara keseluruhan dapatmembantu perusahaan memenuhi salah satu persyaratan ISO 14001.
