Abstract

Abstract: Efforts to reduce the misconceptions of students with low imagination ability on the VSEPR concept and hybridization are urgent to do. This study aims to produce a worksheet of conceptual change (WCC) that is suitable for reducing VSEPR misconceptions and hybridization in students with low imagination ability. This development research followed the 4 D model stages (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate) and only reached the third stage. The research data were analyzed descriptively. The results of the study (1) The two WCCs (VSEPR concept and hybridization concept) that were developed were declared to meet the requirements of construct and content validity with the majority of the highest mode values being 5 (very valid) and there were no conceptual errors; (2) The two WCCs developed were found to be practical to use; the majority (above 85 percent) of user students gave a positive assessment of the 14 practicality indicators, and (3) Both WCCs were declared effective because the majority of students (90 percent, respectively) had successfully changed their conceptions to understand concepts. Thus, it can be concluded that the two WCCs developed are suitable for reducing VSEPR misconceptions and hybridization in students with low imagination abilities.Keywords: development, worksheet of conceptual change, low imagination.Abstrak: Upaya mereduksi miskonsepsi siswa berkemampuan imajinasi rendah pada konsep VSEPR dan hibridisasi urgen untuk dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan lembar kerja perubahan konseptual (WCC) yang layak digunakan untuk mereduksi miskonsepsi VSEPR dan hibridisasi pada siswa berkemampuan imajinasi rendah. Penelitian pengembangan ini mengikuti tahapan 4-D model (Define, Design, Develop, dan Disseminate) dan baru sampai tahap ketiga. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian: (1) Dua WCC (konsep VSEPR dan konsep hibridisasi) yang dikembangkan dinyatakan memenuhi syarat validitas konstruk dan isi dengan mayoritas nilai modus tertinggi 5 (sangat valid) dan tidak terdapat kesalahan konsep; (2) Dua WCC yang dikembangkan dinyatakan praktis digunakan; mayoritas (di atas 85 persen) siswa pengguna memberikan penilain positif terhadap 14 indikator kepraktisan, dan (3) Kedua WCC dinyatakan efektif karena mayoritas siswa (90 persen, masing-masing) berhasil diubah konsepsinya menjadi paham konsep. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa kedua WCC yang dikembangkan layak digunakan untuk mereduksi miskonsepsi VSEPR dan hibridisasi pada siswa berkemampuan imajinasi rendah.Kata kunci: pengembangan, lembar kerja perubahan konseptual, imajinasi rendah.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v22i1.pp121-136

Abstract

Abstract: During the Covid 19 pandemic, blended learning became one of the innovations in learning. This study aims to develop blended learning oriented worksheets to train students metacognitive skills on the rate of reaction material. This research method uses the ADDIE model. The instruments used are validation sheets, pre test and post test sheets of metacognitive skills, student response questionnaire, student activity observation sheets, and metacognitive inventory questionnaires. The research subjects were 15 students of class XI MIPA 6 SMAS Al Islam Krian. The student worksheets produced are very valid, with the average content and construct validation results being 87-88 percent. The practicality of worksheets gets a percentage more than 81 percent, which is a very practical category. The effectiveness of worksheets is obtained based on the N Gain score of pre test and post test gets moderate and high results. Thus, conclude that the blended learning-oriented worksheets are very valid, very practical, and effective. Keywords: students’ worksheet, blended learning, metacognitive skills, rate of reaction. Abstrak: Pada masa pandemi Covid 19 ini blended learning menjadi salah satu inovasi dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan lembar kerja siswa berorientasi blended learning untuk melatihkan keterampilan metakognitif siswa pada materi laju reaksi. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan model ADDIE. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar validasi, lembar pre-test dan post-test keterampilan metakognitif, angket respon peserta didik, lembar observasi aktivitas peserta didik dan angket inventori metakognitif. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 15 siswa kelas XI MIPA 6 SMAS Al lslam Krian. Lembar kerja  yang dihasilkan sangat valid dengan hasil rerata validasi isi dan konstruk adalah 87-88 persen. Kepraktisan lembar kerja mendapatkan persentase lebih dari 81 persen, berada pada kategori sangat praktis. Keefektifan lembar kerja ditentukan berdasarkan hasil N Gain pre test dan post-test yang mendapatkan hasil sedang dan tinggi. Dengan demikian, disimpulkan bahwa lembar kerja siswa berorientasi blended learning adalah sangat valid, sangat praktis dan efektif.Kata Kunci: lembar kerja peserta didik, blended learning, keterampilan metakognitif, laju reaksi. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v23i1.pp185-197

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Group Investigation cooperative learning model and the activities of students to practice critical thinking skills of interpretation and inference on acid-base material. The research method used is the One Group Pretest Posttest Design method to determine an increase in interpretation and inference skills. The trial was conducted on 30 students of class XI MIA SMA 14 Surabaya. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively quantitatively. The results showed that: (1) the use of learning models with cooperative type Group Investigation type 1 to successive closures was 91.67%; 91.67%; 92.71%; 91.67%; 89.59%; 95.83%; and 90.27% with a very good category, (2) the results of students' activities on interpretation and inference skills from meetings 1 to 3 amounted to 17.56%; 15%; and 17,89%, and (3) improved interpretation and inference skills get N-Gain results high category of  93.33%; 86.67% while the medium category 6.67%; 13.33%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to improve students' metacognitive skills through theapplication of the Process-Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL) model in blendedlearning in the COVID-19 pandemic era on molecular form materials.The research method used is experimental quantitative. The research subjects werestudents of class X IPA 1 SMAN 14 Surabaya. The research data refers to theimplementation of learning, observation of student activities, improvement of metacognitive skills and learning outcomes using One Group Pretest and Post-test Design as research designs. Data analysis used percentage, average, n-gain score, normality test, and paired sample t-test. The results showed that (1) the implementation of learning was categorized as very good with the percentage of each phase of orientation, investigation, concept formation, application, and closure as 92.97%; 84.38%; 93.75%; 93.75%; and 92.71%, (2) students were actively involved in the learning process with a percentage of relevant activities of 93%, (3) students' metacognitive skills increased in three metacognitive dimensions in terms of the n-gain score of 0.74-0.77 in the very good category, and (4) There is a significant difference in the result of metacognitive skills between before and after being given a POGIL model based on blanded learning. The implementation of POGIL model on blended learning in this study as a whole can improve students' metacognitive skills in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic in molecular shape.

Abstract

Science literacy is the main key to face challenges in the 21st century. The research aimed to describe the students’ science literacy on chemical equilibrium topic through implementation of guided inquiry learning model. The research design used is One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The research was conducted in class XI MIPA 4 of SMAN 3 Surabaya. Data obtained by instruments of multiple-choice tests of science literacy and observation sheet. The result showed that every aspect of students’ science literacy skills was increased in the medium criteria, it was indicated by an average gain score of 0.6 for competence to explain scientific phenomena and to evaluate data and design scientific investigations. Moreover competence of interpreting data and scientific evidence obtained gain score of 0.7. The result of this research indicated that the skill of science literacy had been trained to students.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini memiliki tujuan yang diharapkan untuk menguraikan (1) keterlaksanaan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT berbasis Blended Learning, (2) aktivitas peserta didik, (3) motivasi belajar, (4) hasil belajar, dan (5) respon peserta didik. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah pra-eksperimen dengan rancangan One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Sasaran yang dituju adalah peserta didik kelas XI MIPA 2 di SMA Negeri 19 Surabaya. Hasil penelitian diperoleh (1) Keterlaksanaan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT berbasis Blended Learning diperoleh persentase pertemuan pertama sebesar 95,24% dan pertemuan kedua sebesar 98,81% dengan keduanya termasuk kategori sangat baik. (2) Aktivitas peserta didik sangat baik dengan persentase pada pertemuan I dan II adalah 98,53% dan 98,64%. (3) Peningkatan motivasi belajar sebelum dan sesudah diberikan model pembelajaran dengan persentase dari 74,88% menjadi 85,32%, (4) Peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik dapat dilihat dari skor N-Gain sebesar 0,749 dengan kriteria tinggi. (5) Respon peserta didik dalam kategori sangat baik dengan persentase sebesar 95,83%. Simpulan penelitian ini yakni motivasi dan hasil belajar peserta didik pada materi laju reaksi mengalami peningkatan sebagai akibat dari penerapan model pembelajaran koopearatif tipe NHT.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop STEM-based chemistry textbooks on reaction rate topic, in order to improve students' problem solving skills. Textbooks are developed using the Research & Development (R&D) scheme with feasibility indicators seen from the validity and effectiveness of textbooks. The developed textbook was then tested using a one group pretest-postest design research, where the research subjects were 30 students of class XI at SMA Wachid Hasyim 1 Surabaya. The research data were obtained from expert validation sheets and student problem solving skills test sheets. Based on the research conducted, it was found that 1) the textbook developed had a validity score of 3.70 and was categorized as very valid, 2) the increase in student problem solving skills classically obtained was 0.75, in the high category, 3) the percentage of completeness a test of student problem solving skills by 90%, so that STEM-based textbooks can be state to be effective in improving students' problem solving skills. Based on these results, it can be conclude that STEM-based textbooks developed feasible to improve students' problem solving skills.

Abstract

The Covid 19 pandemic has hit all countries including Indonesia. Indonesia was hit by a pandemic starting in early March 2020. With this pandemic, Indonesia is required to be prepared for the potential spread of this virus. This is due to the geographical location of Indonesia which is directly adjacent to several countries affected by the spread of the Covid-19 virus as well as the development of globalization and increasingly smooth traffic between countries. One way to reduce the rate of spread of this virus is by implementing Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) so that all activities in schools and offices are carried out in a work from home (WFH) manner. Learning activities cannot be carried out directly so that learning in this period utilizes existing technology so that students still understand the material. As one solution to improving the quality of learning, the program activities make a product in the form of a learning video that is very interesting and fun so that students don't feel bored when participating in distance learning

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Jigsaw type cooperative learning model, student activities in the application of learning models, students' metacognitive skills, and student responses to the applied learning model. This research targets 34 students of class XI MIPA 5 SMAN 19 Surabaya with a One Group Pretest Posttest Design research design. The results obtained are 1) the learning model implementation obtained 96.42% and 99.52% with very good criteria. 2) The percentage of relevant student activities is greater than that of irrelevant students, namely 98.98% and 96.59%. 3) The students' metacognitive skills increased with the average gain score obtained belonging to the high criteria, including Planning Skills 0.90; Monitoring skills 0.82; and Evaluating skills 0.83. 4) Students' response to the applied learning model is good, where 93.3% of students respond positively.

Abstract

This study aims to study the effect of the number head together NHT type cooperative learning model on the activities of students and metacognitive skills. The research subjects came from students of class eleventh Science Senior High School of 19 Surabaya, 35 students using a one pretest-posttest control group design. The results obtained were 1) the percentage of implementation of the NHT cooperative learning model at meetings 1 and 2 was 94.4% and 95.8%, which were categorized as very good. 2) The percentage of student activity at the relevant 1 and 2 meetings is 95.97% and 97.20%, respectively. 3) Increased N-gain on students' metacognitive skills through post-test, including planning skills of 0.6; monitoring skills of 0.5; and evaluating skills of 0.5.
