Abstract

Improving maximum absorbance (lmax) of b-(2-furyl) acrylic acid by modification structure had been done. The research was done on three stages, the first was activity test to b-(2-furyl) acrylic acid as the raw material of the sunscreen compound in vitro at several values of pH using UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The second was structure modification of â-(2-furyl) acrylic acid became octyl b-(2-furyl) acrylic and the last was activity test of octyl of â-(2-furyl) acrylic. Base on this research, b-(2-furyl) acrylic acid had wavelength of maximum absorption before pH conditioning was the same as that of pH 7, namely 295 nm. While it shifted to shorter value (290 nm) at pH 4,5,6 and to longer value (300 nm) at pH 8, 9. After modification became octyl-b-(2-furyl) acrylic, it had wavelength of maximum absorption between 303,00 - 304,20 nm and relative stable in several pH.lmax) of b-(2-furyl) acrylic acid by modification structure had been done. Abstract

The aims of research were to know the growth difference between the weeds crop and the cultivation crop after treated by the alelochemical isolated from the leaves of Pluchea indica Less. Plants test for the cultivation crop were green bean and peanut (leguminaceae), tomato and chili (Solanaceae). While for weeds crop were Mimosa pudica and Ruellia tuberosa (leguminaceae), Amaranthus spinosus and Celosia arganteae (Amaranthaceae). Concentration used were 1%, 0.50%, 0.25%, 0.125% and 0%. Design research used was completed randomized design with one factor. Result of research showed that there are differenciate the growth of weeds and cultivation crop after treated using alelochemical isolated from Pluchea indica. For cultivation crop, green bean was very tolerant to alelochemical, followed by chili and tomato. While weeds crop, the best growth was showed by Celosia, followed by Ruellia, Amarantus, and Mimosa. The bigger alelochemical concentration used, the bigger inhibition of growth. The weeds crop was inhibited more bigger than cultivation crop.

Abstract

Abstract

The learning process of 2013 curriculum emphasizes on the students’ skill, it also demands them to be more active and have extraordinary abilities such as creative thinking skills. The purpose of this study is to describe the feasibility of the Students’ Worksheet with the mind mapping strategy to improve the students’ creative thinking skills on stoichiometry material. There are tree aspects which were observed in the students’ worksheets to measure the feasibility, those are content, presentation, and language. This study was conducted based on 4-D development model which has been modified into 3-D (define, design, and develop). The limited trial was implemented on 12 students of X Science 2 in Senior High School 3 Mojokerto. Furthermore, the results showed that from the three aspects of students’ worksheet which were content, presentation and language were categorized to be very feasible with the percentage 91.88%;93.55%;86.67 % . The students’ activities and responses were the data that obtained through the limited trials with the percentage 97.62% and 88.02% of each. Moreover, the increasing of the students’ creative thinking skills and learning outcomes can be seen from the N-Gain value which were 0.74 and 0.75, and belonged to high category. Based on the results it can be concluded that the students’ worksheet with a mind mapping strategy was feasible and able to improve the students’ creative thinking skills and learning outcomes on stoichiometry material

Abstract

Community Service Activities (PKM) have been carried out regarding the management of chemical education laboratories in the form of training. The training was given to teachers of Blitar Regency MGMP members. The training activities aimed to increase teachers' knowledge about the management and management of the Chemistry Education Laboratory. The implementation method started from preparation and planning, implementation and evaluation. The results of the training showed an increase in participants' understanding of the management of chemical laboratory. Training activities can be carried out well, and receive positive responses from participants. As many as 67% of participants sent a report on the implementation of laboratory management tasks as a post test in their respective schools. Related to the implementation of the evaluation of the training showed a positive response as indicated by the dominant percentage in the positive (very good and good) total answer statements between 70-90%. Judging from its total usefulness, 89% stated that training activities were very useful and beneficial.

Abstract

Science literacy and green chemistry is very needed in learning chemistry. The learning process uses student worksheet to increase scientific literacy ability and the application of green chemistry. The study aims to describe the feasibility of student worksheet with green chemistry insight to increase scientific literacy ability on the matter of acid base. The principles of green chemistry in this student worksheets were limited 3 principles. number 1 is preventing waste. number 5 is using safe solvent. and number 12 is minimizing the occurrencence of accidents. Research method was referred to the stage of 4-D development model (define, design, develop, and desseminate). This study is limited to the stage of development and limited test was conducted to 12 students in a state Senior High School. Analysis of the data uses quantitative descriptive methods. Feasibility in terms of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. Worksheet is stated to be valid, practical, and effective if the percentage results are obtained ≥ 61%. The result showed that the feasibility of student worksheets is reviewed from content validity a percentage of 91.67% and construct validity a percentage of 94.26% with very valid criteria. The practicality of student worksheets is reviewed from observation of student activities a percentage of 95% with very good interpretations and response of student a percentage of 95.09% with very practical interpretations. The effectiveness of the student worksheets reviewed from pretest and posttest of scientific literacy with N-gain score of 0.88 high category.

Abstract

The research aims to determine the influence of flash media on students' understanding of scientific literacy in stoichiometry. The research method used one group pretest-posttest design. The research was conducted in the tenth grade in one of the State Senior High schools in Gresik, East Java, Indonesia. The three meetings in action research were running well. However, there are obstacles where the device used is very limited, so teachers need to find the solution. Student activity during learning gets a percentage average of 87.67%. It means students were very active. Student learning outcomes show that 97% of students complete the standard minimum of completeness, 34 students complete, and one student does not complete. The Wilcoxon test shows a significantly average student learning outcomes, and the n-gain value for all students of 0.72 is relatively high. The results of the percentage of students' positive responses of 87% are classified as very good. In conclusion, learning by using flash media can be accepted by students and increase their understanding of scientific literacy on stoichiometry.
