Abstract

This quasi experimental study was aimed to find out the effect of PBL model on student’s understanding of  mathematical concept. The population of this study was all eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 7 Bandarlampung in the odd semester of academic year of 2018/2019 as many as 305 students that were distributed into ten classes. The samples of this study were students of VIII-2 class as many as 30 students and VIII-3 class as many as 29 students who were selected by using cluster random sampling technique. The design used was the randomized control group pretest posttest design. The data analysis used was thet Mann-Whitney U test. The results of data analysis showed that the median of gain score of student’s understanding mathematical concept in PBL model was higher than the median of gain score of student’s mathematical concept in conventional learning. Thus, the PBL model affects the student’s understanding of mathematical concept.Keywords: understanding of mathematical concept,  problem based learning Penelitian quasi experiment ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model PBL terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 7 Bandar-lampung semester ganjil tahun pelajaran 2018/2019 sebanyak 305 siswa yang terdistribusi ke dalam 10 kelas. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII-2 sebanyak 30 siswa dan kelas VIII-3 sebanyak 29 siswa yang dipilih menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling. Desain yang digunakan adalah the randomized control group pretest posttest design. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji Mann-Whitney U. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa median gain skor pemahaman konsep matematis siswa dengan model PBL lebih tinggi daripada median gain skor pemahaman konsep matematis siswa dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Dengan demikian, model PBL berpengaruh terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis siswa.Kata kunci: pemahaman konsep matematis,  problem based learning

Abstract

This research aimed to find out the influence of discovery learning model towards student’s understanding of mathematical concepts. The population of this research was all of 7th grade students of SMPN 31 Bandarlampung in academic year of 2018/2019 that distributed into nine classes. The samples of this research were students of VII E and VII F class which chosen by cluster random sampling technique. The randomized pretest-posttest control group design was used as the design of this research.  The data of this research was  score of understanding of mathematical concepts that obtained by essay test on quadrilaterals and triangle. By using t’ test analysis,  it was concluded that discovery learning model was influenced student’s understanding of mathematical concepts.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of problem based learning model in terms of students' mathematical communication skills. The population of this study was all students of grade VIII of SMP Negeri 2 Pugung, Tanggamus in the academic year of 2018/2019 as many as 135 students, which were distributed into five classes. The sample of this study were students in VIIIA and VIIIB class selected by cluster random sampling technique. The design which was used was a pretest-posttest group design. Data analysis used the Mann-Whitney U test and proportion test. The results of data analysis showed that the mathematical communication skills of students who followed the PBL model were higher than the mathematical communication skills of students who followed conventional learning and the proportion of students who had good categorized of mathematical communication skills was more than 60% of the number of students who followed the PBL model. Thus, the PBL model was effective in terms of students' mathematical communication skills. Keywords : comunication skils of mathematics, problem based learning

Abstract

This research aimed to examine the effectiveness of the problem based learning model in terms of students mathematical communication skills. The population of this research was all the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 22 Bandar Lampung in the odd semester of the 2018/2019 academic year as many as 329 student’s which distributed in 11 classes. The samples of this research were students of VIII-G as many as 30 student’s and VIII-K as many as 30 student’s class which were chosen by purposive sampling technique. This research used the nonequivalent pretest posttest control group design. The research data was obtained through essay tests of mathematical communication skills in material of linear equations system with two variables. Data of this research used Mann-Whitney U test and Binomial Sign test. The conclusion of this research was the problem based learning model was not effective in term of students mathematical communication skills, but the mathematical communication skills of the students who taught by problem based learning was higher than students who taught by conventional learning Keywords: conventional, mathematical communication, problem based learning Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji efektivitas model problem based learning ditinjau dari kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa.  Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 22 Bandar Lampung semester ganjil tahun pelajaran 2018/2019 sebanyak 329 siswa yang terdistribusi dalam sebelas kelas.  Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII G sebanyak 30 siswa dan VIII K sebanyak 30 siswa yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling.  Desain yang digunakan adalah the nonequivalent pretest posttest control group design.  Data penelitian diperoleh melalui tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis yang berbentuk uraian pada materi sistem persamaan linear dua variabel.  Analisis data penelitian ini menggunakan uji Mann-Whitney U dan uji Tanda Binomial. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah model problem based learning tidak efektif ditinjau dari kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa, akan tetapi kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang mengikuti problem based learning lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional. Kata kunci: komunikasi matematis, konvensional, problem based learning

Abstract

This quasi-experimental research aimed to find out the effect of problem based learning (PBL) model towards students’ representation mathematical ability. The population of this research was all students of grade 8th of SMPN 22 Bandarlampung in the even semester of academic year of 2018/2019 as many as 330 students that were distributed into eleven classes. The samples of this research were students of VIII I class which consist of 31 students and VIII K class which consist of 29 students who were selected by cluster random sampling. This research used pretest-posttest control group design. The research data were obtained through an essay test on the polyhedron. The data analysis used  test. The result showed that the gain of representation mathematical ability through PBL model was higher than the gain of representation mathematical ability through conventional learning. Thus, PBL model has effect towards student’s representation mathematical ability.

Abstract

This quasi experimental research aimed to find out the influence of cooperative learning model types think pair share towards learner’s mathematical concept comprehension. The population of this research was learners of grade VIII of Junior High School of Tri Sukses Natar in academic year of 2018/2019 as much as 85 learners that were distributed into four classes, that are VIII A until VIII D. The sampling was done by cluster random sampling technique and it was chosen learners of VIII C and VIII D as samples. The design which was used in this research was the non equivalent control group design. Research data were obtained through test of ma­thematical concept comprehension. The data analysis which was used was . The result of this research show that mathe­matical concept comprehension of learner who follow learning with cooperative learning model types TPS higher than mathematical concept comprehension of learner who follow learning with non-TPS model.  Based on the results and dicussion, the conclusion of the research is the cooperative learning model types TPS model was influence to learner’s mathematical concept comprehension. Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh model kooperatif tipe think pair share (TPS) terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis peserta didik.  Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VIII SMP Tri Sukses Natar tahun pelajaran 2018/2019 sebanyak 85 peserta didik yang terdistribusi dalam empat kelas, mulai dari VIII A hingga VIII D.  Pengam­bilan sam­­pel dilakukan dengan teknik cluster random sampling dan terpilih peserta didik pada kelas VIII C dan VIII D sebagai sampel. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan non equivalent control group design. Data penelitian diperoleh menggunakan instrumen tes pemahaman konsep matematis. Pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji . Hasil dari penelitian ini me­nunjukkan bahwa pe­ma­haman kon­sep matematis peserta didik yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan model kooperatif tipe TPS lebih tinggi dari pemahaman konsep matematis peserta didik yang me­ngikuti pembelajaran dengan model pembelajaran non-TPS. Berdasarkan hasil dan pembahasan, diperoleh simpulan bahwa model kooperatif tipe TPS ber­pengaruh terhadap pemahaman konsep matematis peserta didik.Kata kunci: model kooperatif, pemahaman konsep, think pair share

Abstract

This quasi experimental research aimed to find out the effectiveness of Alqurun Teaching Model in terms of students’conceptual understanding of mathematics. The population of this research was all students of grade VII of SMP Negeri 1 Kibang in academic year of 2018/2019 as many as 192 students that were distributed into six clases. By using cluster random sampling technique, two classes were taken as the sample that was VIIB as many as 32 students and VIIC class as many as 32 students. This research used the randomized posttest only control design. Data analysis of this research used t test. Based on the result of research, it was concluded that Alqurun Teaching Model was not effective in terms of students’conceptual understanding of mathematics. However, understanding mathematical concepts of students following Alqurun Teaching Model was higher than understanding mathematical concepts of students following conventional learning.Keywords: alqurun teaching model, effectiveness, students’conceptual understanding of mathematics Penelitian eksperimen semu ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas Alqurun Teaching Model ditinjau dari pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, disimpulkan bahwa Alqurun Teaching Model tidak efektif ditinjau dari pemahaman konsep mate­matis siswa. Abstract

The population of this study was all seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 19 Bandarlampung in even semester academic year of 2018/2019 as many as 319 students. The research samples were students of class VII-E as many as 32 students and VII-J as many as 32 students who were selected through cluster random sampling technique. The design used was the randomized pretest-posttest control group design. The research data was the score of mathematical communication skills that obtained through a essay test. Abstract

The Influence of Discovery Learning to Students Mathematical Communication Skills. This research aimed to examine the influence of discovery learning towards student’s mathematical communication skill. The population of this research was all the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Natar  in the odd semester of the 2018/2019 academic year as many as 363 student’s that were distributed into 11 classes. The samples of this research were students of class VIII-D consist of 30 students and VIII-F consist of 30 students which were chosen by cluster random sampling technique. This research used the randomized pretest-posstest control group design. The research data were scores of the mathematical communication skill that were obtained through essay test of linear equations system with two variables. The data analysis of this research used Mann-Whitney  test. Abstract

The Effectiveness of Two Stay Two Stray Model on Students’ Mathematical Communication Skill. This quasi-experimental research  aim­ed to find out the effectiveness of two stay two stray model on students’ mathematical communication skill.  The population in this research was all students of grade 7th of SMPN 10 Bandarlampung in academic year of  2018/2019 that consist of 352 students and distributed into eleven classes. Through cluster random sampling technique, VII H consist of 32 students and VII J consist of 32 students were chosen as the research sample. This research used the randomized pretest-posttest control group design. The research data were obtained by the essay test of mathematical communication skill on topic of ratio. Analysis of research data used the Mann-Whitney u test and z test. Based on the results of this research and discussion, it concluded that two stay two stray model was effective in terms of students’ mathematical communication skill.Kata kunci: efektivitas,  kemampuan komunikasi matematis, two stay two stray
