Abstract

Pedagogical content knowledge is a combination of understanding of teaching material (content knowledge) and understanding how to educate (pedagogical knowledge) that needs to be possessed by a teacher. The purpose of this study was to determine the pedagogical content knowledge concept, the achievement of pedagogical content knowledge for prospective teacher students, and to determine the role of prospective mathematics teacher students towards pedagogical content knowledge. A teacher in carrying out his professional assignments must have the competence that is always maintained. Because of this, competency development is an important requirement to ensure that the quality of learning in the classroom adjusts to the development and demands of the times. Always maintained competence also ensures that the implementation of education is consistent in achieving educational goals. There are ten pedagogical content knowledge criteria that must be possessed by prospective teacher students before conducting the practice in the field. Prospective teacher students must also be able to implement learning, knowledge of ways to represent and explain the material to make the material understandable to others.

Abstract

This study provided an overview of the response of secondary school students regarding the learning from home policies in mathematics learning in four Provinces, Aceh, North Sumatra, Riau, and Jambi. Participants in this quantitative descriptive study were secondary school or equivalent students, amounting to 490 students who were selected based on convenience sampling. Data shows that only 30 percent of students who feel happy to do online mathematics learning, and as many as 62 percent of students experience obstacles on it. They are categorized into four things: Mathematical material that is very difficult to understand, there is no interaction between teacher and student as well as students and students, electricity and internet problems, and not focused on learning. While students who feel happy have a reason for the flexibility of time and place, as well as supporting social distancing recommended by the government. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep dan koneksi matematik siswa di SMP Swasta Tarbiyah Islamiyah Hamparan Perak pada materi kubus dan balok melalui pendekatan matematik realistik. Untuk mengetahui seberapa besar peningkatan yang diperoleh, siswa diberikan tes kemampuan pemahaman konsep dan koneksi matematik. Peningkatan kemampuan pertama kali dianalisis menggunakan rumus gain ternormalisasi untuk kemudian di olah menggunakan rumus ANAVA dua jalur. Rumus ANAVA dua jalur juga digunakan untuk mengetahui terdapat atau tidaknya interaksi antara model pembelajaran dan kemampuan awal matematika siswa terhadap peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep dan koneksi matematik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkaan bahwa (1) peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep dan koneksi matematik siswa yang diajarkan melalui pendekatan matematik realistik lebih tinggi dari pada kemampuan pemahaman konsep dan koneksi matematik siswa yang hanya di ajarkan melalui pembelajaran biasa, (2) tidak terdapat interaksi antara model pembelajaran dan kemampuan awal matematika siswa terhadap peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa, dan (3) tidak terdapat interaksi antara model pembelajaran dan kemampuan awal matematika siswa terhadap peningkatan kemampuan koneksi matematika siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase in the understanding of concepts and students ability at SMP Swasta Tarbiyah Islamiyah for the cube and beam through mathematical realistic approach. To find out how much improvement is obtained, students were given a test of understanding of concepts ability. Increased capabilities were first analyzed by using the normalized gain and processed by using two ways ANOVA formula. Two ways ANOVA formula is also used to determine whether an interaction between learning approach and students abilitiy to increase understanding of concepts skills. The results showed that (1) an increase in the understanding of concepts that students taught through mathematical realistic approach higher than understanding of concepts ability that students are taught only through ordinary learning, and (2) there is no interaction between the learning approach and the students ability to the improvement of students 'mathematical understanding of concepts ability.

Abstract

Abstract. The purpose of this study was to determine differences in the ability of understanding mathematical concepts eighth grade junior high school 3 Lala River. This is the kind of research is a Quasi Experiment, design Nonequivalen control group design. Data analysis techniques in this test using normality test, homogeneity and hypothesis testing. Based on the calculation hypothesis test showed significant values t_test = 1.619 t_table = 2.012. So it can be concluded that the ability of students' understanding of mathematical concepts with the application of Inside Outside Circle learning model is better than the ability of understanding mathematical concepts students by using conventional learning models in class VIII School SMP Negeri 3 Sungai Lala.Keywords: Inside Outside Circle, Understanding of Mathematical ConceptAbstrak. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbedaan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa kelas VIII Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri 3 Sungai Lala. Jenis penelitian ini adalah adalah Quasi Experiment, dengan desain Nonequivalen control grup desain. Teknik analisis data dalam pengujian ini menggunakan uji normalitas, homogenitas dan uji hipotesis.  Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan uji hipotesis menunjukkan nilai signifikan  = 1,619  = 2,012. jadi dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa dengan penerapan model pembelajaran Inside Outside Circlelebih baik daripada kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional di kelas VIII Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri 3 Sungai Lala.Kata Kunci: Pemahaman Konsep dan Inside Outside Circle

Abstract

Abstract. The research is motivated by the low ability of problem solving in student math SMP Negeri 6 Rengat, the activity of students in following the lesson is still relatively low. The us of fishbowl collaborative learning strategy is throught to be able overcome the problem solving ability of student math which is still low. The purpose of this research is to know the ability of problem solving of student mathematics by using fishbowl collaborative learning strategy. This type of research is experimental research. The research design used was randomized subjects posttest only control group design. The population in these villages is class VII. The class selected to be the experimental class is the class VIIA and the control class is the class VIIB. The data collection technique used in this research is the ability problem solving test in the form of essay. Data analysis techniques in this test use t test based on hypothesis test results obtained t count = -4,321 and t table = -2,010. Based on hypothesis test results t arithmetic t table with the real level used is 0,05. Ho rejected. So, it can be concluded that the ability to solve mathematical problem with the application of fishbowl collaborative learning strategy is better than the ability to solve mathematical problems with the application of conventional learning strategies in the class VII SMP Negeri 6 Rengat. Keywords: Collaborative Learning Strategy Fishbowl, Problem Solving

Abstract

Abstract. This research has been made to know skill of student’s concept by using active learning strategy everyone is teacher here (ETH). Beside that this study aims to measure student’s concept understanding with statistical test between Experimental Class (Active Learning Strategy Everyone Is Teacher Here) and control class (Conventional Learning ). The population was seventh grade of SMPN 3 Lirik consist 94 students in three classes. Sample was took randomly, experiment class ( VII.2 ) and control class ( VII.I ) This research was experiment, the form of this research was Quasi Experimental Design with randomized subject posttest only control group design. based on statistic data processing has been retrieved - t hitung -3,159 smaller than - t table was -2,000 and based on t test has been retrieved -thitung -t table so Ho rejected and Ha received. So that the writer conclude that skill of math student’s concept understanding by using active learning Strategy Everyone Is Teacher Here (ETH) is better than conventional concept understanding.Keywords: Everyone Is A Teacher Here, Concept Understanding

Abstract

The low ability of students' mathematical understanding, is influenced by the lack of interest of students in mathematics so that it eliminates the continuing curiosity. Then the students are less active in solving the questions given by the teacher. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the RMS (Reading, Mind Mapping, and Sharing) model with the help of the Powtoon application in improving the mathematical understanding ability of students of class X IPS SMA Negeri 1 Lirik. This type of research is a Quasy Experiment Design research. The sampling technique is random sampling. After the samples were taken randomly, class X IPS 1 was chosen as the experimental class and X IPS 2 as the control class. The instrument in this research is a test of mathematical understanding ability. The data analysis technique used the Paired Samples T-Test (t test) by carrying out normality tests and homogeneity tests as prerequisite tests. The results of the hypothesis obtained a significance value = 0.000 and = 0.05. Because sig. < or 0.000 < 0.05, then accept H_1 and reject H_0. It was concluded that the RMS (Reading, Mind Mapping, and Sharing) model with the help of the Powtoon application was effective in improving the mathematical understanding ability of class X Social Studies students of SMA Negeri 1 Lirik.Keywords: RMS Learning Model, Powtoon Application, Mathematical Comprehension Ability.

Abstract

This research begins with the results of interviews and observations which show that the value of students' mathematical critical thinking skills in class VII SMP Negeri 1 Sungai Lala is still low and there are differences between female students and male students in the process of solving the exercises given by the teacher. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a difference between critical thinking skills based on gender differences. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The subjects in this study were four students consisting of two female students and two male students, in which the four students were selected based on their critical thinking ability scores. The research instruments were questionnaire sheets and test questions. The data obtained will be analyzed by means of data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. Based on the results of the study showed that the results of the questionnaire percentage of critical thinking skills for female students were higher than for male students. The percentage results obtained were 50.77% for female students and 49.23% for male students. The completion of critical thinking ability test questions between female students and male students has differences. Female students have been able to master the five indicators of critical thinking skills in solving test questions, while for male students there are two indicators of critical thinking abilities that they have not yet mastered. In terms of conclusion, that female students have excellent critical thinking skills while male students have good critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This study aims to determine differences in mathematical communication abilities between students in classes receiving take-and-give learning and students in classes receiving conventional learning. This research is experimental, with a quasi-experimental research design with a nonequivalent control group research design. The data collection technique used a five-problem student mathematical communication test, and the data analysis included prerequisite tests (normality test and homogeneity test), while the hypothesis test used a two-mean comparison test (t test). The results of the tests that have been carried out show that the calculated t value is greater than the t table value. Thus, it can be concluded that students' mathematical communication abilities with the application of the take and give learning model are better than their mathematical communication abilities with conventional learning on triangle material in grade 7.
