<![CDATA[The purpose of this paper is about to investigate of Code-Mixing appeared in South Jakarta Community while this community having chat each other through social media, WhatsApp and Twitter. The phenomenon of Code-Mixing and Code-Switching in Indonesia became viral in last September. The used of code-mixing helps them to communicate with others, because not all the people can use the language properly. So that, learning about language is really needed. It will increase their vocabularies whether in Bahasa or English. Also, there are few reasons why the community applies the code-mixing in the daily activities. The writer uses the method of qualitative-description research which is done by the writer by getting involved in the community of social media, having the library and internet research with the relevant sources, and collects the data to be analyzed also describes by explaining the result of the research. The conclusion of the research is by the often using of Code-Mixing, the people indirectly increase their vocabularies. This phenomenon influenced many people to start to apply the Code-Mixing]]>

<![CDATA[Nowadays in globalization era, being able to communicate in a foreign language is of paramount importance due to its role in seeking for jobs and scholarships. Translation, belonging to English for Specific Purposes, is a challenging and interesting skill to be mastered. Because of i ts rel ati ve di f fi cul ti es, it needs serious attention and concentration. The core of translation is a transfer of a message without any words missing, especially the meaning. The translator shall then be careful in replacing the words from Source Language to the Target Language. In translation, some problems appear like the usage of collocation in the novel Twilight New Moon. The author mostly uses collocation in the novel. Meanwhile, the translator translates the novel not only using word by word method, but also modulation method and the context of sentence. The use of collocation in novel makes readers find it easy to understand its meaning and acquire its message.]]>

<![CDATA[This research focuses on symbolism which is appeared in Angels and Demos movie. There are various symbolisms shown through this Angels and Demons movie. Most of the symbolism has different meaning to be analyzed. The discussion covers on symbolism specifically on types and meaning on it. This research uses qualitative-description research which is accomplished by the writer by getting the data needed through this movie, having the library and internet research with the relevant sources, collects the data to be analyzed also describing meaning by explaining the result of the research. The conclusion of the research is finding five types of symbolism whereas only three symbolisms are suitable for this research, discover the meaning of every single symbolism found.]]>

<![CDATA[Since the world has been disturbed by the increasing impact of Covid-19, various countries have applied distance learning, responding to the pandemic policy on an international scale. The author believes that the learning of technological innovation for Indonesia is different from that of developed countries, so this study tries to understand the digital pedagogical perspective of teaching. A series of successful electronic literature searches were carried out on several scientific journal publications, books, and other website literature to get the intended understanding. The data that we have obtained are then analyzed in-depth, involving critical coding and high evaluation to obtain understanding and conclusions that can answer the core questions of this study. We used all data from secondary data, namely scientific evidence published between 2010 and 2021. Then the design of this study was in a descriptive qualitative system under a phenomenological approach, an effort to explore data as widely as possible. After discussing the results, we included that pedagogical technology, which is a method that discusses how teachers handle their duties assisted by technological innovation. However, the pedagogy also helps teachers become student learning facilitators by using existing technological facilities to improve learning outcomes. While at the same time developing students' potential even though they are being afflicted with learning disorders due to pandemics. We hope this result can be a contributing input for further studies.]]>

<![CDATA[The aim of this research is to figure out about the symptoms and the treatment of the Anorexia in the movie entitled “To the Bone”. The researcher chooses “To the Bone” movie because the movie provides Anorexia disorder that occurred in the main character, Ellen, as the main analysis of this theme movie. The object of this research is about movie entitled “To the Bone” due to this movie provides shown Anorexia appeared in the main character. The researcher applies descriptive qualitative method to analyze the “To the Bone” movie. The data are analyzed using the anorexia theory from Pamela I. Swain. The data as the results of this analysis are (1) There are six symptoms of Anorexia in the main character are always wear baggy clothes, weight less than 85 percent normal, downy hair grows in arms, extremely low-calorie diet, compulsive exercise, refuse for not eating; (2) The treatments of anorexia for the main character are refeeding and psychotherapy counseling that consists of family counseling, group counselling, and personal counselling.]]>

<![CDATA[RPS (Rencana Pembelajaran Semester -- Semester Learning Plan) is a document contains the framework or outline of learning plan for one semester. The RPS is used by the lecturer and for students. It is as the guideline in learning activities in order to reach the expected outcome. As there is expected outcome, thus it is designed both for lecturer and students and also for the principal, of subject. The RPS can be viewed from students side by having perception test. This perception test will perform either the RPS is synchronous with the students substantial needs by their department. Through perception, students will have notion of something, synchronicity. This research aims at (1) presenting perception of students from Broadcasting Department at Bina Sarana Informatika University on the RPS for English for Broadcasting subject; (2) viewing the influence of RPS through online learning in the Covid-19 pandemic era. This research is conducted by giving a questionnaire to students. Then, it is discussed and analyzed either by qualitative or quantitative research. Students from broadcasting semester IV are taken as an example in this research. There are 35 students was taken questionnaire. The data analysis are using the form of Spearman hypothesis test. The result shows that (1) students perception on RPS synchronousity is Synchronous; (2) There is no influence of students' perceptions of synchronization to their department through online learning. The proof shows that the value of P = 0.124 (P > 0.05) and the value of r xy = 0.294, means the relationship between students' perceptions of synchronicity to their department is not significant or weak.]]>

<![CDATA[Pelaksanaan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, wawasan serta kompetensi bagi para santri, terutama Bahasa Inggris. Kegiatan ini berfokus pada pelatihan tata Bahasa Inggris dengan jenis materi yang disesuaikan dengan karakter dan kebutuhan para santri. Teknik pembelajaran tata bahasa yang digunakan pada pelatihan tata Bahasa Inggris ini adalah dengan menggunakan teknik Dictogloss (dikte). Dictogloss adalah aktivitas dikte kelas di mana peserta didik diharuskan merekonstruksi teks pendek dengan mendengarkan dan mencatat kata-kata kunci, yang kemudian digunakan sebagai basis untuk membuat sebuah kalimat lengkap. Pelatihan ini diikuti oleh 30 santri dengan kisaran usia 10 sampai dengan 13 tahun. Dikarenakan masih dalam keadaan pandemic Covid-19 maka pelatihan ini dilaksanakan secara daring yaitu dengan memanfaatkan aplikasi Zoom. <![CDATA[Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah memberikan pelatihan keahlian kepada masyarakat betapa pentingnya komunikasi berbicara menggunakan Bahasa Inggris. Pelatihan difokuskan pada percakapan Bahasa Inggris sehari-hari yang dilakukan di Yayasan Darussalam, Depok Timur. Metode penelitian yang dipakai dalam riset ini adalah berbasis kualitatif deskriptif dengan tehnik role-play. Data berasal dari peserta pengabdian masyarakat yang berusia antara 13 hingga 17 tahun. Skala pengukuran menggunakan level kemampuan berbicara dari level terendah 1 hingga level tertinggi 6. Hasil yang didapatkan dari riset ini sebanyak 1 peserta pada level 4, 9 peserta pada level 3, 5 peserta pada level 2, 2 peserta pada level 1.]]>

<![CDATA[The objective of this research is to explain the types of discrimination shown by the main character in her society and to identify the effects that main character experienced after being discriminated. This research used descriptive qualitative method to analyze the movie. The subject of this paper was movie Crazy Rich Asians by Jon M Chu. The data analysis was conducted using U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission theory reference. By the process of the analysis, it was that harassment, national origin discrimination, race/color discrimination, and religious discrimination were experienced by the main character. Not only that, the researchers found four types of effects experienced by a person after being discriminated, which are marginalization, disempowerment, low self-esteem and self-identity, and aggression or criminality.]]>

<![CDATA[Masalah utama dalam belajar Bahasa Inggris adalah kurangnya rasa percaya diri, hal ini tentu saja menghambat penguasaan Bahasa Inggris seseorang. Oleh karena itu, sebagai salah satu Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi, pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara Bahasa Inggris melalui materi bertanya dan berpendapat (asking and giving opinion). Metode yang digunakan pada pelatihan ini adalah ceramah, tanya jawab dan diskusi yang diikuti oleh 25 peserta yang merupakan pegawai dari Badan Perencanaan Pembangunan Daerah (BAPPEDA) Bogor Jawa Barat. Dikarenakan masih dalam keadaan pandemi Covid-19 maka pelatihan ini dilaksanakan secara daring yaitu dengan memanfaatkan aplikasi Zoom. Hasil yang diharapkan dari kegiatan ini adalah adanya peningkatan kepercayaan diri dalam berbicara Bahasa Inggris terutama dalam bertanya dan berpendapat. Selain itu, para peserta diharapkan dapat mempraktikan materi yang diberikan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.]]>
