Abstract

Bubu merupakan alat tangkap paling memungkinkan untuk penangkapan ikan hias karang. Namun dalam pengoperasiannya masih sering terjadi kegagalan akibat hempasan arus yang menyebabkan posisi bubu terbalik. Melalui rekayasa bubu lipat multifunnel, diharapkan permasalahan tersebut dapat dikurangi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah merekayasa bubu lipat multifunnel, menghitung nilai hidrostatis serta uji coba penangkapan. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dan ekperimental fishing. Bubu lipat terdiri dari rangka besi, badan jaring, mulut bubu, tempat umpan serta pintu hasil tangkapan. Bubu didesain mempunyai enam mulut pada bagian sisi samping, bagian rangka hanya terdapat pada sisi atas dan bawah. Proses terbukanya bubu ketika dalam air karena adanya gaya apung pada rangka atas yang lebih besar dibandingkan gaya tenggelam pada rangka bawah. Besar gaya pada rangka atas -0,2344 kgf, rangka bawah 2,2753 kgf dan gaya total bubu sebesar 2,0409 kgf. Uji coba penangkapan memperoleh ikan kerapu, ikan kakatua dan morai.

Abstract

The water survey activities in remote areas have many challenges, such as cost, transportation to location, access to the location, boat for water survey, manpower, and other factors. This research proposes the method of water survey to overcome the difficulties encountered in surveying in remote areas. The mini boat prototype was designed and fabricated by using a control system to operate in the water. The propulsion power prediction was carried out, by comparison, the similarity to the fullscale ships with 9.5 knots of velocity. Furthermore, the wave-making resistance was simulated by software and confirmed by the trial. The trial has shown that the boat was going well on the water and the measurement equipment in a safe condition. Aktifitas survei perairan pada wilayah terpencil menemui banyak tantangan, seperti biaya yang mahal, transportasi menuju lokasi, akses jalan, perahu untuk melakukan survei dan tenaga manusia untuk membawa peralatan tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan menawarkan metode survei perairan untuk mengatasi kesulitan saat melakukan survei pada wilayah terpencil. Survei dilakukan dengan menggunakan kapal mini yang telah didesain dan dibuat prototipenya. Pengoperasian kapal di air menggunakan sistem kendali jarak jauh. Prediksi kecepatan menggunakan perbandingan kemiripan dengan kapal sebenarnya dengan kecepatan yang diperoleh sebesar 9.5 knot. Selanjutnya, karakteristik gelombang yang terbentuk akibat gesekan dengan lambung kapal disimulasikan menggunakan software dan terkonfirmasi melalui pengujian performa kapal bahwa air tidak masuk kedalam kapal sehingga alat ukur yang berada diatas kapal tetap aman.

Abstract

ABSTRACT               Application of fiberglass lamination is the best way in wooden fishing vessel maintenance and improvement. Fiberglass lamination will improve the hull as waterproof hull, increase strength, smoother surface and more protection against marine fouling. There are several steps of fiberglass laminationfor wooden vessel, the first step is drying and cleaning the wooden vessel from the paint and fouling. The second step is laminating the hull with 2 layers of fiberglass and followed with compound spackling and the last step painting. Based on economical analysis, fiberglass lamination has more advantages compared to conventional repair method. By using fiberglass lamination the nest maintenance activity is only cleaning the moss. From point of performance view, fiberglass lamination will reduce the skin friction resistance and increases the speed and the efficiency of the ship. This speed increase and efficiency are caused by the hull which no more absorb water. Due to no water absorption, the weight of the vessel will be maintained as its dry weight and finally will reduce fuel consumption.  Keywords:  Lamination, Fiberglass, wood, maintenance, efficiency

Abstract

Identification and biological analysis of Cuttlefish (Sepia spp) this could be the basis of information for cuttlefish resource management for sustainability. The aims of this study were to determine the species composition of cuttlefish, determine similarity in morphology among cuttlefish species, and length-weight relationship of dominant species cuttlefish landed in Muncar, Banyuwangi, East Java. The analytical method used is species composition analyze, Hierarchical clustering analysis to determine similarity among cuttlefish species and length-weight relationship analysis of dominant cuttlefish species with the following equation W = aLb. There are three species of cuttlefish were landed in Muncar, Banyuwangi, Sepia pharaonis with 373 individuals (92.6%), Sepia latimanus 19 individuals (4.7%), and Sepia esculenta 11 individuals (2.7%). The results of length-weight relationship analysis cuttlefish dominant species, Sepia pharaonis, the b values obtained in the total sample, males and females respectively are 2.55, 2.56, and 2.57. It shows that the growth properties of S. pharaonis is negative allometric. It means the population has thin body shape where the increase in length faster than weight gain.

Abstract

Kondang Merak was lied on south of Java sea that has monitored coral reef inside. Environment condition such as load of terrestrial’s nutrient into the sea, increase of surface water temperature and tourism activities were affected on coral reef health. The massive Porites that common coral found in this location need be monitored gradually to see coral condition over time. The research was conducted on May 2015 in reef flat area of Kondang Merak. The aims of the research were to know distribution of massive Porites and oceanography condition in Kondang Merak. The highest sea surface temperature was 26,46o C in transect number 2 at station 1 (eastern part). Salinity of sea water was in normal range between 34, 42o/oo to 35,75o/oo, dissolved oxygen was on range 6 mg/l sampai 9,1 mg/l and pH was 7,23 sampai 8,68 respectively. Two species on massive Porites they were Porites lobata dan P. lutea. In station 1 the average diameter of P. lobata was 228.57 cm and P. lutea 63.89 cm, in while P. lobata in station 2 was 260.57 cm and P. lutea 153.56 cm.

Abstract

One of the main problem of inland waterways fisheries is the transportation of fish from ponds to fish market during low tide trough inland waterways with 0.6m water depth.The boat is experiences grounding due to water depth of the river is not sufficient for the fishing boat to carry fish at it’s maximum2 tones capacity or experience dead freight . This condition forces fisherman to wait until the high tide from the sea, this delay causes the quality of the fish is decreasing.Besides the problem dead freight  problem the existing vessel is causes environmental problem such as erosion of the river bank due to wake wash. The other important issue is the increases of fuel price and it’s scarcity.  This paper presents the results of comparison of existing monohull fishing boat and two other alternativecatamaran designs. The catamaran design alternatives are is ordinary catamaran and flat side catamaran.  Both of the catamaran fishing boat design shows that the catamaran boat with 0.5m draft is able to carry more than 2 tonnes payload during low tide water depth.  The CFD simulation results shows that flat side catamaran resistance is more than 17.7% lower compared to ordinary catamaran and 44% lower compared to monohull. It means that the consumption of flat side catamaran is lowest compared to two other type of hull design. The flat side catamaran also produces lowest wake wash compared to o two other design. The low wake wash means more friendly to environment.

Abstract

This community service activity for the Doctoral Serving UB funding scheme is one of the efforts to help partners in Pangi Beach in managing Pangi beach marine tourism. The activity will be held from June to November 2021 located on Pangi beach. There are three main activities, namely discussions with partners, designing and producing artificial squid habitats and finally setting up artificial squid habitats on the seabed of Pangi beach. The method implemented in this service is workshop, training, discussion and assistance starting from training to setting 4 artificial squid habitat units on Pangi beach which is carried out well. The results of the activities in addition to the installation of artificial squid habitats, are also the transfer of knowledge in conservation-based tourism management. The follow-up activity is monitoring which is planned to be carried out through Internship and Student Thesis Research activities in 2022. Cooperation and public awareness (partners) of the importance of developing conservation-based tourism are the main things for this service activity to run well.

Abstract

Rajungan (portunus pelagicus) merupakan salah satu komoditas penting perikanan Indonesia. Pengetahuan tentang aspek biologi rajungan, termasuk hubungan antar ukuran bagian-bagian tubuhnya (morfometrik) dan sebaran lebar karapas serta beratnya, akan berguna sebagai salah satu informasi dalam pengelolaan rajungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan lebar karapas- berat rajungan, hubungan lebar-panjang-tinggi karapas, serta sebaran lebar dan berat rajungan. Metode yang digunakan adalah survei dengan pengambilan sample secara acak pada 2 (dua) titik pendaratan ikan di perairan utara Lamongan, khusunya kecamatan Paciran pada bulan Juli sampai September 2018. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sifat pertumbuhan isometrik untuk rajungan betina dan allometrik positif untuk rajungan jantan. Selain itu, didapatkan hubungan linear positif dengan nilai a = 0,06 dan b = 0,45 untuk lebar-panjang karapas serta nilai a = 0,06 dan b = 0,25 untuk lebar-tinggi karapas. Rajungan betina paling banyak ditangkap pada lebar karapas 12-13 cm dan berat 100 g, sedangkan rajungan jantan sering ditangkap dengan lebar karapas 11 cm dan berat 80-90 g.  Masih adanya rajungan dibawah ukuran lebar karapas 10 cm yang tertangkap (lebar karapas diatas 10 cm adalah aturan rajungan yang boleh ditangkap sesuai dengan PER MEN KP 56/2016), maka informasi tentang hubungan lebar-panjang-tinggi rajungan dapat dijadikan masukan untuk melakukan modifikasi alat tangkap, misalnya mendesain ukuran celah pelolosan pada bubu, agar rajungan dengan lebar karapas dibawah 10 cm dapat keluar dari alat tangkap.

Abstract

Nelayan di Kecamatan Lekok hampir semua kapal yang digunakan berbahan kayu dengan ukuran rata-rata panjang 10-15 meter, lebar 2 meter dan tinggi 1 meter. Masalah yang terjadi sekarang harga kapal kayu yang naik seiring dengan naiknya harga bahan baku kayu dan upah tenaga kerja. Perawatan kapal kayu dengan metode tradisional dilakukan setiap minggu untuk membersihkan kulit kapal dari hewan laut dan kerak yang menempel di kulit kapal, 3 bulan sekali kapal di docking untuk penggantian papan yang bocor dan lepas dan juga perbaikan mesin kapal. Metode perbaikan kapal dengan memanfaatkan teknologi laminasi fiberglass ini telah terbukti secara efektif untuk perbaikan kapal, terutama pada bagian kulit lambung kapal. Urutan pengerjaan perbaikan kapal dengan laminasi fiberglass adalah sebagai berikut: mengeringkan dan membersihkan lambung kapal, mengganti papan kayu yang lepas atau bocor, melakukan laminasi dengan menggunakan dempul dari campuran resin dan talek, laminasi fiberglass dengan lapisan MAT dan resin, tahap terakhir yaitu penyelesaian akhir dan pengecatan. Secara teknis metode ini mampu menjaga kapal bertahan sampai dengan 6 tahun dengan kondisi sampai sekarang kulit kapal belum mengalami kerusakan. Beberapa keuntungan yang didapatkan adalah tidak perlu lagi perbaikan kapal pada bagian lambung kapal baik mingguan atau bulanan, kapal cukup dibersihkan dari lumpur pada kulitnya. Keuntungan lainnya, kapal lebih tinggi kecepatannya karena permukaan kapal yang menjadi halus dan tidak ada air yang terserap ke dalam kulit kapal.

Abstract

Tawangrejo fishers located in Binangun, Blitar are a group of fishers who conducted destructed fishing. Once fish population decreased, they believed that they must recover the fish population in the Brantas river, especially for a ray-finned fish, Puntius bramoides (Valenciennes, 1842) that live endemic, by forming Community based surveillance named POKMASWAS Fajar Bengawan. The POKMASWAS actively monitor and prohibit destructive fishing, also initiate ecotourism called Badher Bank such as river tracking, fish feeding and fishing. However, Badher Bank still has some constraints related to service management and infrastructure availability. Therefore, the aim of these activities was to increase the service of Badher Bank ecotourism by assisting the group management and building a rest facility for tourists. The results of these activities were the workshop and capacity building for POKMASWAS and the provision of a gazebo. Now, Badher Bank has been well managed with improved management skills and excellent ecotourism services.
