Abstract

Watu Rambung Village is one of the villages in South Lembor District, West Manggarai Regency, which has a sacred ritual and is still preserved by the people of Watu Rambung Village. The ritual is called the Teing Ela Tinu ritual. The Teing Ela Tinu Ritual is a traditional event conducted by children as a form of appreciation and retribution to their parents. This ritual is performed when the children are married or have their own lives.The formulation of the problems in this study include (1) How the social coating system in the Ela Tinu Teing Ritual (2) The process of implementing the Ela Tinu Teing Ritual. This study aims to determine the social coating system in the Teing Ela Tinu ritual, as well as to know the process of implementing the Ela Tinu Teing Ritual in Watu Rambung Village. This research uses the theory of Bronislaw Malinowski about structural functional. The method used is a qualitative research method. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and literature study. The analysis used is descriptive qualitative.

Abstract

The study was conducted in Katung Village, the researcher attempted to provide the description of the life pattern of orange farming in Katung vil-lage vil-lage of Kintamani sub-district. After succeeding in developing the village up to present, the orange farmer commodity is increasingly gain-ing attention from a number of communities to be better developed like other Kintamani areas. anincrease in the number of farmers more than the number of jobs in other fields. This indicates that they have great hopes in the agricultural sector to resolve the demands of liv-ing needs, especially the necessities of life in the family, then of course it will affect the selection of different types of commodities because they are consid-ered more promising better results compared to other types of plants, Like-wise, the management pattern of orange farming that does not always run smoothly from the constraints experienced by farmers today. This study is interesting to study because Katung village is an orange production that needs to be studied specifically.This research is a qualitative research with a de-scriptive analysis approach, which consists of several stages, namely: observation, by interviews with several orange farmers such as: I Wayan Sastono et al. Collecting archives in the form of data population of Katung Villagem such as population growth data, with the area of research-related areas such as the potential they have with a majority farmers. In addi-tion, number of books related to orange farming were used and collaborated with cultural value orientation theories such as Koetjaraningrat's book.

Abstract

The Ministry of Public Works and the Public Housing (PUPR) has proposed innovations named Rumah Instan Sederhana Sehat (RISHA) as a form of post-disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara in 2018. One of the villages that received the innovations was Bayan village. Bayan community does not accept RISHA to be built as their new residence. This research focuses on two problems: (1) Why the Bayan people performs resistance to RISHA and (2) how the form of the resistance of Bayan people to RISHA. This research aims to study the determinants and the forms of resistance that the Bayan people has committed to the RISHA. The study was conducted for two months using qualitative research methods implementing the model of ethnographic research. The ethnography itself includes observation techniques, interviews, and library studies. The supporting instruments of this research are interview guidelines, voice recording equipment, cameras, and stationery. Based on the results of the research, it is known that the determinant that causes the Bayan people commit to RISHA is indigenous belief and framing made by the Government connected to the politic elections in 2019. The form of resistance performed by Bayan people are doing traditional deliberations, destruction of modern elements in the ancient Mosque of Bayan Beleq, efforts to build their own homes, dodge and do not want to know, as well as looking for alternative houses other than RISHA.

Abstract

Perkawinan yang ideal merupakan suatu perkawinan yang didambakan oleh kehiduan manusia, namun tidak memungkiri dapat juga terjadinya suatu perkawinan yang tidak ideal yang dilarang oleh masyarakat setempat. Masyarakat Julah terdapat perkawinan yang dilarang dan dihindari untuk dilakukan, apabila perkawinan tersebut terjadi maka disebut sebagai perkawinan manesin dikarenakan bersifat memanes atau panas dan kotor bagi keluarga dan juga lingkungan Desa Julah. Adapun rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini; 1) Bagaimana bentuk-bentuk perkawinan manesin menurut konsepsi masyarakat di Desa Julah?; 2) Faktor-faktor apa yang mempengaruhi terjadinya perkawinan manesin pada masyarakat Desa Julah?; 3)Apa implikasi dari perkawinan manesin bagi masyarakat Desa Julah? Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan jenis data kualitatif melalui observasi, wawancara, studi kepustakaan dan dokumentasi untuk mendapatkan sumber data yang primer dan sekunder, dengan analisis deskripstif. Teori yang digunakan merupakan teori strukturalisme dari Levi Strauss mengenai simbolik mengatur perkawinan di tunjang dengan teori tiga dimensi arti simbol dari Victor Turner. Adapun Perkawinan manesin ini merupakan suatu perkawinan yang terjadi antara seseorang dengan seseorang yang merupakan masih memiliki satu garis keturunan baik secara vertikal maupun horizontal atau dapat disebut dengan perkawinan sedarah (incest). Faktor terjadinya kawin manesin diantaranya faktor lingkungan dan budaya, faktor ekonomi dan lemahnya pengendalian sosial yang ada di Desa Julah, sehingga mengakibatkan suatu implikasi seperti berbagai permasalahan yang dialami oleh keluarga bersangkutan dan diwajibkan untuk membuatkan suatu upacara pembersihan diri, keluarga maupun desa yang dinamakan dengan melis gede.

Abstract

Kelurahan Serangan adalah salah satu kelurahan yang ada di Kecamatan Denpasar Selatan, Kota Denpasar, Provinsi Bali. Kelurahan Serangan identik dengan etnis Bugis yang sejak lama mendiami daerah Serangan dari 17 M hingga saat ini. Etnis Bugis yang di Serangan mampu beradaptasi dengan lingkungan etnis Hindu Bali yang dapat dikatakan kedua etnis tersebut berbeda dari segi lingkungan dan kebudayaannya. Oleh karena itu dirumuskanlah masalah penelitian untuk mengetahui (a) bagaimana strategi adaptasi etnis Bugis dalam kaitannya dengan dinamika sosial budaya di Kelurahan Serangan dan (b) bagaimana perilaku adaptif etnis Bugis di Kelurahan Serangan dalam kaitannya dengan multikulturalisme. Dalam menganalisis permasalahan penelitian, peneliti menggunakan teori adaptasi dari Bennett. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara, studi dokumentasi dan studi pustaka.  Hasil penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa etnis Bugis di Serangan menunjukkan sikap kerukunan antarsesama etnis tanpa memandang suku, ras dan agama. Strategi yang dilakukan etnis Bugis dalam menghadapi dinamika perubahan sosial budaya yakni Etnis Bugis di Kelurahan Serangan selalu ikut ke dalam kegiatan-kegiatan adat serta keagamaan etnis Hindu Bali. Hal tersebut yang mendasari bentuk kerukunan masyarakat di Kelurahan Serangan.

Abstract

Abstract: Di antara adat Jawa yang terkenal dan lekat dengan ajaran-ajaran agama ialah prosesi kirab. Prosesi kirab merupakan suatu kegiatan simbolis yang penuh dengan makna. Setiap prosesi kirab mempunyai keterhubungan pada setiap bagian-bagiannya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memaparkan deskripsi tradisi Kirab Pusaka Satu Suro di Keraton Kasunanan Surakarta sebagai wujud pelestarian budaya Jawa di Surakarta. Dalam mengungkap permasalahan penelitian, peneliti menggunakan Teori interpretatif dan teori fungsionalisme struktural. Dalam teori interpretatif, pelaksanaan kirab Pusaka ini merupakan pola dari (model of) sedangkan tatacara yang dijadikan pedoman untuk melakukan upacara kirab tersebut merupakan pola bagi (model for) kelakuan. Teori fungsionalisme disini mengungkap fungsi dari kebudayaan Kirab Pusaka yang dianalisis oleh peneliti. Hasil penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa Kirab Pusaka yang merupakan suatu bentuk acara adat setiap menjelang malam 1 Suro atau Tahun Baru Jawa, bukanlah ajang untuk memamerkan artifak senjata kuno, namun merupakan bentuk upaya meminta pertolongan kepada Tuhan Yang Maha Agung, akan rahmatNya atau untuk mendapatkan sih-wilasaning Pangeran Ingkang Maha Wikan (wahyu atau anugerah Ilahi) sehingga kekuatan magis, prabawa Pusaka-Pusaka yang dikirabkan akan memberi keselamatan, keberkahan, dan kesejahteraan untuk Keraton Kasunanan Surakarta dan Negara Indonesia seluruhnya.

Abstract

Angkringan is one of the typical culinary delights of the people who are now increasingly enjoying themselves, including in the New Normal era. This study aims to how does it survive in the New Normal era in Mojokerto City. This study uses the Functionalism theory by Bronislaw Malinowski and the Hierarchy of Human Needs theory by Abraham Maslow that uses a qualitative research method with an ethnographic research model through observation, interviews, and literature studies. The results of the study, it was found that the background of the existence of angkringan started from the economism respons of the Wong Kulonan overseas group who lived in Mojokerto City, the angkringan business in Mojokerto City also were accustomed to opening side jobs. Which then becomes an alternative job, and the needs of the people of Mojokerto City will have a wider public space The survival strategy of angkringan in the New Normal comes from the form of angkringan business that adapts to the New Normal era with simple capital and easy operations, high consumer interest with prices that adjust in the midst of a crisis and public space.
