Abstract

Education is a very important thing in human life. However, there are still some people who think that education is only the background of life. Where they just follow the flow of their education without remembering (even forgetting) and understanding the lessons learned. This also happened to one of the children in the Al-Jam Washliyah orphanage who needed help to improve his memory in lessons. In providing assistance through Praktkum I mini project activities, using the casework method through general or general intervention stages including: Engagement intake contract, assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of follow-up termination. Where this process is a problem-solving strategy given to the client, namely using the singing method which aims to improve the client's learning memory. And from this strategy the client is expected to develop the coveted and capabilities.

Abstract

Drawing is a means of expression, development of activities, depicting imagination and fantasy, which are very important in maintaining the development and growth of children’s creativity and productivity. Drawing is also one of the parts in seeking identity beacuse children feel they can be honest and independent from the demands that surround them. The purpose of this paper is as a result of the author's dedication in developing children's creative thinking at the Rumah Pintar YAFSI. The method used is qualitative research with data collection techniques by observation. In this casework activity, the writer took one of the children to help increase their creative potential through drawing and story telling. Children's abilities are not only measured by the limits of numbers and letters which have been the main focus in learning. Children's motor skills and imagination must also be included in the attention of learning.

Abstract

In the era of globalization, children are required to be able to learn the language of other countries in order to become their guide in exploring a world full of fierce competition from various directions in obtaining the necessities of life such as work, education, and so on. The language that is most recommended to be mastered is English, because English has been designated as a universal language that is commonly used to interact with people around the world. This activity was carried out with a comprehensive mentoring method for Rupin Yafsi's children through socializing the importance of using English in the era of globalization, using the Duolingo application, and testing out the learning achievements obtained after using the Duolingo application. The Intervention Program used in this practicum is the Mezzo Intervention by Zastrow which consists of; Preparation (with a Non-Directive Approach), Intake / Engagement, Assessment, Planning, Implementation and Action Plan, Evaluation and Termination. The final output achieved from this activity is the increase in the digital literacy skills of Rupin Yafsi's children in utilizing digital learning applications that are very useful to increase their new knowledge and insights.

Abstract

Self-confidence is an important indicator for self-development in success. Self-confidence is one of the factors that influence the high and low learning outcomes of children. A child who does not dare to show his interest and ability in learning will always be left behind in the lesson because he continues to feel hesitant to show it. In this case, it is important to cultivate a sense of self-confidence in the child in order to further increase the child's interest in learning. Various efforts were made to increase self-confidence in children, including YAFSI Smart Home children. Through the Practicum 1 activity which will start from March to June 2022, the author conducted a mini project on one of the YAFSI Smart Home children. In this Practicum, the method used is the Casework Method by Zastrow which includes Intake Contract, Assessment, Planning, Intervention, Evaluation and Termination. The tools used in the assessment are ecomap tools that help find the source of the problem in the client. The efforts made in this Practicum make clients feel an increased interest in learning because of their self-confidence. Because, the interests that children have will make them interested and happy with something they learn

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic is an epidemic that occurs in various parts of the world. The impact caused by the pandemic is felt by all citizens in various countries. The Covid-19 pandemic is not only disturbing health, but has an impact on the economic order of all countries. The country's economic condition since March 2020 has plummeted, this can be seen from the recorded Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth of -2.07% in 2020, whereas in 2019 GDP still grew to 5.02%. The decline in economic growth was also felt by small traders such as a resident who made a living as a flower seller in the city of Tebing Tinggi. The solutions offered in practical activities are several ways that the florist can do to increase his income. The stages used in the micro-level social intervention are the case work stages of skidmore which consist of the assessment stage, program planning, intervention stage, evaluation stage, and termination stage. In the study phase, I as a case woker began to build relationships with clients. At the case woker stage, I tried to explain and instill the understanding that it is the client who determines the results to be achieved later. In the case study stage the woker tries various forms of therapy (treatment), depending on the client's needs. The intervention phase is basically developed based on the client's needs. In this case the case woker can discuss choosing alternative solutions to problems with the client, the client is encouraged to develop his ability to overcome the problems he faces. While the termination stage is the stage where the relationship between the case woker and the client will be terminated. Termination can be stopped if it is seen that there is a change in the client for the better.

Abstract

Interest in reading needs to be instilled and grown since children are small because interest in reading in children will not be formed by itself, but is strongly influenced by stimuli obtained from the child’s environment. Especially the interest in learning to read the Qur’an which is the main guideline for Muslims. The purpose of this research is to increase the spirit of interest in learning the Qur’an in children at the Al-Jami’yatul Washliyah Orphanage. The intervention rogram is carried out using the Mezzo Intervention by Zastrow which consist of Engagement, Intake and Contract, Assessment, Planning, Intervention, Evaluation and Termination. The final results obtained are that children become more aware and understand in learning to read the Qur’an.

Abstract

In the era of the rise of online games among underage children which can be freely accessed via mobile phones, and causing children's interest in learning to continue to decline over time. Apart from the fact that online games are increasingly mushrooming among children, the decline in children's interest in learning is also due to a decrease in the learning methods used which are also boring. this is also very visible among children who live in rural areas due to the lack of updating of parents and the existing education system in rural areas, which is still monotonous. This will become a very serious problem if it continues. This also happened to several children in sialang village. because of this the process of providing assistance is also carried out through field work practices or PKL II students of social welfare sciences, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of North Sumatra by applying the discussion method in learning. This method has the aim of increasing children's interest in learning and training children to exchange ideas and learning processes as well as daily activities. Apart from that, a mini project was also carried out at the practicum this time, namely by making an intervention, specifically an intervention that aims to help several children in the unlucky village in solving the problems they are experiencing.

Abstract

The community service program is a forum for implementing and carrying out the development of science and technology that is carried out outside the campus within certain time, work mechanisms and requirements. Community service carried out at the orphanage is a form of student service to provide useful knowledge for the surrounding community, especially at the orphanage. The author does community service at the Eben Haezer Orphanage which certainly has a special purpose to provide counseling in increasing interest in learning for the children of the Eben Haezer Orphanage. The main problem faced is the low interest in learning for the children at the orphanage, the low interest in learning and the learning environment where their achievement decreases at school and this is of course a problem for the children and at this orphanage. Learning interests of children/students can be influenced by learning objects, methods, learning strategies and approaches, teacher attitudes and behavior, learning media, learning facilities, learning environment and teacher's voice. From this interest in learning, it can lead to self-confidence that children have in the learning they want to achieve, especially in learning mathematics. The self-confidence that the child already has will become enthusiastic, as well as a high curiosity about new learning. Other activities that will be carried out include outreach, education, and motivation which will later change the mindset specifically for the children living at the Eben Haezer Orphanage so that they receive more knowledge not only in the school environment. Therefore, with the activities that will be carried out, the author intends to carry out a mini project at the orphanage using two tools in the assessment stage, the two tools are focus group discussion (FGD) tools and ecomap.
