Abstract

Children are the future successors of the nation, so their growth and development must be maximized, especially for children in the childhood phase. Therefore, it is hoped that all parties can support the creation of a good and child-friendly environment for their development. Indonesia has a target for all regions to become a Child Friendly City/ District (KLA) by 2030. One of the KLA indicators is Child Friendly Schools (SRA), which is manifested in the implementation of a child-friendly learning process. Schools must be able to use the right learning approach for optimal child development. One method that is considered appropriate for the child's development stage is the Beyond Centers and Circle Time (BCCT) method, which in Indonesia is known as senling or short for centers and circles. The BCCT method is a learning method that is applied based on certain areas and is centered on children as learners. This method aim is to develop all aspects of multiple intelligence in early childhood through directed play by moving classes. The purpose of this is to find out how to design a BCCT based primary school using design method by J.C. Jones. The concept of space is formulated by applying textures, colors, flexible spaces and individual spaces that can support children's development.

Abstract

Covid-19 is a disease that attacks the respiratory tract that began to be identified in Wuhan, China. WHO then announced the condition as a pandemic that quickly spread throughout the world. The rapid spread of the Coronavirus Pandemic (COVID-19) also occurred in West Kalimantan, Indonesia. In a spatial-temporal perspective, the spread of infectious diseases can be happened by the interconnectivity or interaction between areas, populations, and transportation facilities that facilitate community mobility. This research aims to describe the interactions between regions in West Kalimantan and the relation to the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic. The method used centrality measurement and cluster analysis, where the results of these calculations are then described in line with the distribution of the Covid-19 case in West Kalimantan. From the justification, areas with high centrality in the network configuration tend to have the most confirmed cases compared to other areas. The character of these areas tends to be the main entrance (air/port), the provincial capital, and the hub area in West Kalimantan, which is also included as the same cluster. Another interesting finding is that areas with low centrality, and included in the same cluster, have several people under surveillance which is quite large compared to the previous cluster. These areas tend to have a dense population and are directly related to the Provincial Capital and neighboring countries (border).

Abstract

Designing configuration of buildings and streets in an urban area by maximizing air movement is an approach of the sustainable city. The existing buildings and streets of an urban area can affect the microclimate formed, including the airflow. The airflow can be used to create a comfortable city environment. Jalan Gajahmada is one of the economic strategic areas in Pontianak City which requires a comfortable condition to support activities there. The airflow that occurs in Gajahmada Street affects the conditions that occur now. This paper aims to provide an overview of airflow conditions on Gajahmada Street Area. The research method is through computer simulations using the Envi-Met simulation program. The data used local climate data and field data based on surveys. Through the analysis, it is known that the airflow is strongly influenced by the direction of the wind, the surface mass of the building and the ratio between the height of the building to the width of the streets that is formed from the distance between building masses (H / W).

Abstract

Type 36 houses are built for people who have low income. Because of this, the buildings’ ventilation relies on natural airflow. One of the variables that affects natural ventilation is airflow. Airflow can affect the quality of indoor air, influencing the comfort and health of those within. This study aims to evaluate the designs of type 36 buildings from the perspective of the airflow through the unit. It uses computational fluid dynamics simulations to compare the pattern and velocity of airflow in each building design. There are six designs of type 36 house that have different layouts and placements of air vents. The results of the simulation and analysis show that rooms arranged in a way that allows for the placement of vents that were facing each other, even if they were in different rooms, generated continuous airflow without experiencing turbulence.

Abstract

Pontianak is one of the developing cities. Various culinary businesses are developing in Pontianak, such as catering businesses, restaurants, food courts, street stalls / street stalls. Culinary needs are not only as a fulfillment of basic needs but have also developed into a lifestyle. This is inseparable from the daily life of urban people who have a high level of mobility. People prefer to eat outside the home because it is more practical and also the need for entertainment after a day of activities. Food Court is an alternative that can accommodate and introduce various types of local and non-local foods and can meet the lifestyle of urban people and entertainment. In addition, the phenomenon of the Covid-19 pandemic emerged which became the basis for people's concerns. Covid-19 greatly affects people's mind preferences for the ease of being infected and tend to choose open spaces. Therefore, it is necessary to design a food court in Pontianak that emphasizes open space. This design is carried out through data collection, followed by the analysis stage to obtain spatial layout and design concepts with the final result in the form of visualization and design work drawings. The design location is on Jalan Abdulrahman Saleh, Bangka Belitung Laut District, Southeast Pontianak District, Pontianak City, West Kalimantan. The shape of the building is adapted to modern architecture containing food and beverage outlets, as well as facilities for visitors.
