Abstract

Public space is a communal area  to accommodate interaction  between different communities in one space. The concept of public space that can be utilized as social space can also be owned by individual party (private), such as shopping centers, restaurants, campuses, and others. The campus is a private space which is used as public space for the exchange of science information and  an area to fulfillment  the psychological and biological needs (recreation and green open spaces) that is used by the academic community and societies. The aim of this paper is to formulate concepts of open space in Tanjungpura university as a public space. This study use three techniques/methods of data collection, such as observation, questionnaire and a behavioral mapping. The results of these methods were analyzed by  chi-square crosstab and  discriminant analysis to identify whether there are any relationship between the selection of public space and the  respondent preferences in viewing  public space. Furthermore, the analysis also has a goal to classify the preference of respondents about components and criteria of the design of public space. This study concluded that the formulation of design criteria  of public space for student in the Tanjungpura university is depend on the factors of the students itself in viewing the location of the space. The determining factors in formulating the design concept of the public open space are gender, the nature and kind of activity, duration of activities, frequency of activities, and partner in activities.REFERENCES---. 1991. Abstract

The terrace is an additional space that serves to accommodate the additional residents. A flexible use of the terrace is one of the reasons for the formation of terraces. Territory patio can be created from the occupant behavior patterns that have activities in the patio repetitive and constant. The research location is at Bansir Laut village, sub-district of southeast Pontianak, West Kalimantan. Bansir village settlements topology which is a riverside settlement has the character of settlements built on the water. Territories that are not clearly established because the house is above the water is the reason homeowners form a boundary marker or their home territory. Based on these reasons, established territory of terrace tailored to the needs and support the activities of the terrace. Thus, creating the same characteristic of the porch/terrace setting, with a different function. This research only discusses the creation of setting that influenced by the habits or behaviors from the homeowners and the allocation of the terrace as an additional activity space. From the results of this study, it generates data on the characteristics of the territory setting type of the terraces at the river Bansir villageREFERENCESHaryadi, B. Setiawan (1996). Abstract

Children are the future successors of the nation, so their growth and development must be maximized, especially for children in the childhood phase. Therefore, it is hoped that all parties can support the creation of a good and child-friendly environment for their development. Indonesia has a target for all regions to become a Child Friendly City/ District (KLA) by 2030. One of the KLA indicators is Child Friendly Schools (SRA), which is manifested in the implementation of a child-friendly learning process. Schools must be able to use the right learning approach for optimal child development. One method that is considered appropriate for the child's development stage is the Beyond Centers and Circle Time (BCCT) method, which in Indonesia is known as senling or short for centers and circles. The BCCT method is a learning method that is applied based on certain areas and is centered on children as learners. This method aim is to develop all aspects of multiple intelligence in early childhood through directed play by moving classes. The purpose of this is to find out how to design a BCCT based primary school using design method by J.C. Jones. The concept of space is formulated by applying textures, colors, flexible spaces and individual spaces that can support children's development.

Abstract

Covid-19 is a disease that attacks the respiratory tract that began to be identified in Wuhan, China. WHO then announced the condition as a pandemic that quickly spread throughout the world. The rapid spread of the Coronavirus Pandemic (COVID-19) also occurred in West Kalimantan, Indonesia. In a spatial-temporal perspective, the spread of infectious diseases can be happened by the interconnectivity or interaction between areas, populations, and transportation facilities that facilitate community mobility. This research aims to describe the interactions between regions in West Kalimantan and the relation to the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic. The method used centrality measurement and cluster analysis, where the results of these calculations are then described in line with the distribution of the Covid-19 case in West Kalimantan. From the justification, areas with high centrality in the network configuration tend to have the most confirmed cases compared to other areas. The character of these areas tends to be the main entrance (air/port), the provincial capital, and the hub area in West Kalimantan, which is also included as the same cluster. Another interesting finding is that areas with low centrality, and included in the same cluster, have several people under surveillance which is quite large compared to the previous cluster. These areas tend to have a dense population and are directly related to the Provincial Capital and neighboring countries (border).

Abstract

Abstract_ The COVID-19 pandemic has brought changes in both activities and space design to prevent the wider spread of the virus. These changes need an adaptation so that activities can run smoothly. Adaptation can be in the form of changes in space design, activities, and so on. One of the activities that began to be carried out was learning at school. In this regard, the purpose of this research is to see what changes have occurred (design and regulations) and the process of human adaptation to these changes. This research was conducted on 4 objects, namely SD 14 Pontianak Kota Subdistrict, SD 56 West Pontianak Subdistrict, SMP 2 South Pontianak Subdistrict, and SMP 10 South Pontianak Subdistrict. The methodology used is place-centered mapping, interviews, and questionnaires. The results of the study showed changes in the form of physical such as the provision of handwashing facilities, temperature checking, and changes in the overall seating arrangement and space setting changes at the level of acceptance. As for non-physical changes (regulations) such as the circulation path, it shows that humans are at a level in the process (some accept and reject). This shows that humans are more receptive to changes/adaptations to physical things, while non-physical changes still allow humans to refuse and act by what they usually do. Abstract

The research of the thermal environment of the school building is useful for determining the design strategy of a thermally comfortable school building. This research method is based on field measurements. A total of 8 classrooms from 4 public school buildings in Pontianak City with different characteristics of opening directions, orientations, and floor locations were selected in this study. The results showed that the air temperature and humidity in the classroom ranged between 26.9oC-33.5oC and 74.5%-84.2%. The average air velocity in the classroom is 0.24m/s. The globe temperature is higher than the air temperature with an average difference of 7.7oC. Protection against solar radiation and increased air velocity can be potential design strategies to achieve thermal comfort in classrooms.

Abstract

Sekadau is one of the regencies located in West Kalimantan. As the economy develops, transportation facilities and infrastructure in Sekadau Regency are also increasingly needed. It aims to support the smooth mobility of passengers and goods. One of the supporting elements of the transportation system is the station which functions in controlling, supervising, and regulating the passenger and goods transportation system and being one of the node points of public transportation routes. The only bus station in Sekadau Regency is Lawang Kuari Station which is a type B terminal. This station is located in Sungai Ringin Village, Sekadau Hilir District. Even though they already have a station, the enthusiasm of the Sekadau community to use public transportation services is still very low. This is due to the government's lack of attention to station empowerment, both in terms of fulfilling facilities and maintaining buildings and areas. Another problem in the Lawang Kuari Terminal area is the functional problem of this area itself. In this station redesign, the author uses a Humanist Architecture approach in order to increase comfort in the station, so that the Sekadau community pays attention to the existence of Lawang Kuari Station. The Humanist Architecture approach places more emphasis on small-scale elements that are an important part of society. This approach seeks to improve the quality of existing designs and design decisions are more focused on the needs of the community.

Abstract

Along with the development of the times, human life is also changing, the pattern of life and activities in every job that requires the community, especially big cities to be ready in prime condition. In carrying out daily activities, humans tend to use brain functions more than muscles, so humans are more likely to be lazy to spend more energy. This causes many people to experience obesity, stress, physically unhealthy etc. The purpose of the fitness center is to provide comfort with sports facilities provided for the community. The activities in the form of a gym, aerobics, yoga, swimming, jogging and several other sports that aim to train muscles and reduce weight, make the ideal body as desired. In planning a fitness center as a place for exercise and sports, the design must be in the form of a building with a large space. The application of green open space in the building can be applied to the garden in the building, with wide openings in each room so as to be able to take advantage of the ventilation sanded with vegetation to make the room feel comfortable and cool. This application is suitable for sports areas, because when doing sportsactivities the body requires smooth oxygen circulation. Destroyed ventilation with vegetation is also able to provide health for the body while exercising.
