Abstract

Abstract: Equity of education can be attained by the implementation of Reading Questioning Answering (RQA) learning strategy. RQA has potential to optimize the critical thinking skills and cognitive learning outcome of students. The aim of this study is to compare the critical thinking skills and cognitive learning outcome among students with different academic ability through RQA strategy. The subjects are students in X grade of SMA Al-Khairat and SMAN 5 Ternate. The result showed that the critical thinking skills percentage of low academic ability students is higher 5.691% than high academic ability students, and the cognitive learning outcome percentage of low academic students is higher 7.067% than high academic students. Therefore, RQA able to empower the critical thinking skills and cognitive learning outcomes of low academic ability studentsKey Words: Critical Thinking Skills, Cognitive learning Outcome, Academic Ability, RQA strategy Abstrak: Upaya pemerataan pendidikan dapat dilakukan melalui penerapan strategi pembelajaran Reading Questioning Answering (RQA). RQA diketahui berpotensi untuk mengoptimalkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar kognitif siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat perbandingan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar kognitif antara siswa berkemampuan akademik berbeda melalui strategi RQA. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X SMA AL-Khairaat dan SMA N 5 Kota Ternate.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata presentase peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis  siswa berkemampuan akademik rendah lebih tinggi 5,691% dibandingkan siswa berkemampuan akademik tinggi sedangkan rata-rata presentase peningkatan hasil belajar kognitif  siswa berkemampuan akademik rendah lebih tinggi 7,067% dibandingkan siswa berkemampuan akademik tinggi. Jadi, RQA mampu memberdayakan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar kognitif siswa pada kemampuan akademik rendahKata kunci: keterampilan berpikir kritis, hasil belajar kognitif, kemampuan akademik, strategi Pembelajaran RQA

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims at (1) producing the science instructional materials for SMP based on salingtemas and guided inquiry to build the integrated understanding; (2) discovering the validity and reliability levels of the instructional materials, namely Syllabus, Lesson Plans (RPP), Assessment Instruments, and Students’ Worksheet (LKPD). This research used development research design 4D model suggested by Thiagarajan and limited only to the development level. The developed instructional materials are validated by the expert of instructional materials, the expert in the subject, the science teacher, then, the learning device tested on eight graders of SMPN 2 Jember to discover the readability of LKPD. The validation test result from all validators showed that the science instructional materials based on the salingtemas and guided inquiry have categorized as valid. The readability evaluative result showed that the LKPD can be used in learning process, and the totality the science instructional materials based on salingtemas and guided inquiry effectively used on learning process.Key Words: instructional materials, integrated understanding, salingtemas, guided inquiryAbstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran IPA di SMP berbasis salingtemas dan inkuiri terbimbing untuk membentuk pemahaman terintegrasi dan mengetahui tingkat validitas dan kelayakan produk perangkat pembelajaran yang berupa silabus, Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP), instrumen penilaian, dan Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD). Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian pengembangan model 4D dari Thiagarajan, yang dibatasi hanya sampai pada tahap develop. Perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan divalidasi oleh ahli perangkat pembelajaran, ahli materi dan guru IPA, kemudian diujicobakan pada peserta didik kelas VIII SMPN 2 Jember untuk mengetahui aspek keterbacaan LKPD. Hasil validasi dari seluruh validator menunjukkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran IPA berbasis salingtemas dan inkuiri terbimbing memiliki kategori layak/valid. Hasil penilaian keterbacaan menunjukkan bahwa LKPD dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran dan perangkat pembelajaran IPA berbasis salingtemas dan inkuiri terbimbing efektif dapat digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran.Kata kunci: perangkat pembelajaran, pemahaman terintegrasi, salingtemas, inkuiri terbimbing

Abstract

The aims of this research were to investigate: 1) The effect of Problem Based Learning (PBL), Reading Questioning and Answering (RQA), and PBL integrated with RQA learning (PBL+RQA) on students’ characters, 2) The effects of gender on students' characters, and 3) the effect of the interaction between learning strategies and gender on students’ characters. The population of this research was all the tenth grade students of state senior high schools in Malang. The results showed that 1) There was not any effect of biology learning strategies on the students’ characters. 2) There was an effect of gender on the students’ characters. The average of the characters of the female students was 2,81% higher than that of the male students. 3) There was no interaction effect of learning strategy and gender on the students’ characters.Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji: 1) Pengaruh strategi pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL), Reading Questioning and Answering (RQA), dan PBL dipadu RQA terhadap karakter siswa, 2) Pengaruh gender terhadap pembentukkan karakter siswa, dan 3) Pengaruh interaksi strategi pembelajaran dan gender terhadap karakter siswa. Populasi penelitian ialah seluruh siswa kelas X SMAN Malang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hal-hal berikut. 1) Tidak ada pengaruh strategi pembelajaran terhadap karakter siswa. 2) Perbedaan gender berpengaruh terhadap pembentukkan karakter siswa. Nilai rerata terkoreksi karakter siswa putri lebih tinggi 2,81% dari siswa putra. 3) Interaksi strategi pembelajaran dan gender tidak berpengaruh terhadap pembentukkan karakter siswa.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to (1) produce Mycology handout on fungal endophyte and (2) determine the feasibility and readability of handout. This research type is development research. Handout data feasibility obtained from material experts and learning media expert by validation questionnaires, the handout readability data was obtained from questonnaires for the Biology students. The research results showed that the percentage of validation result from Mycology material expert I is 100% and from Mycology expert II is 99.44% with very high feasibility criteria. Percentage of handout feasibility by learning media expert is 93.06% with very high feasibility criteria. The handout readability result from Mycology student is 85,56% with very high criteria. The research results show that the handout are very feasible and very easy to use in the Mycology learning activities. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) menghasilkan handout Mikologi pada materi kapang endofit dan (2) menguji kelayakan dan keterbacaan handout. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan. Data kelayakan handout diperoleh dari angket validasi oleh ahli materi dan ahli bahan ajar, sedangkan data keterbacaan diperoleh dari hasil angket keterbacaan handout pada mahasiswa Biologi UM. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persentase kelayakan materi handout oleh validator ahli materi Mikologi I sebesar 100% dan validator ahli materi Mikologi II sebesar 99,44% dengan kriteria kelayakan sangat tinggi. Persentase kelayakan handout oleh ahli bahan ajar sebesar 93,06% dengan kriteria kelayakan sangat tinggi pula. Persentase uji keterbacaan oleh mahasiswa sebesar 85,56% dengan kriteria keterbacaan sangat tinggi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa handout sangat layak dan sangat mudah digunakan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran Mikologi.

Abstract

Abstrack: Research carried out to develop the module for achieving air quality is based on the results of Metro River physics, chemistry, and biology research. Module development is done by using the ADDIE model which consists of 4 stages, namely analysis, design, development, and application (implementation). Every development process is evaluated and revised. The research data were obtained based on the validation of material experts, instructional materials experts, practicality test by consent, and openness test by students. Data were collected using materials expert validation sheets, expert materials validation sheets, practicality test sheets, and student response questionnaires. Module testing was carried out at SMAN 10 Malang as many as 36 students. Based on the results of the evaluation by the expert module the material was declared valid (100%), the evaluation of the expert instructional module was valid and feasible (98.75%) the module was quite readable (83.69%).Abstrak: Penelitian dilakukan untuk mengembangkan modul penentuan kualitas air berbasis hasil penelitian kualitas fisika, kimia, dan biologi Sungai Metro. Pengembangan modul dilakukan dengan menggunakan model ADDIE yang terdiri dari empat tahap, yaitu analisis, desain, pengembangan, dan penerapan. Setiap tahap pengembangan dilakukan evaluasi dan revisi. Data penelitian diperoleh berdasarkan validasi ahli materi, ahli bahan ajar, uji kepraktisan oleh praktisi, dan uji keterbacaan oleh siswa. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan lembar validasi ahli materi, lembar validasi ahli bahan ajar, lembar uji praktikalitas, dan angket respons siswa. Uji coba modul dilakukan di SMAN 10 Malang sebanyak 36 siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penilaian oleh ahli materi modul dinyatakan valid (100%), penilaian ahli bahan ajar modul valid dan layak (98,75%) penilaian oleh praktisi lapangan modul cukup praktis dan dapat digunakan setelah melalui revisi kecil (84,70%), serta modul cukup terbaca (83,69%).

Abstract

Nontext book are books which are not used directly as a book to study particular subject in educational institution. One of nontext books is a supplementary book. Genetics course is a course taught in Biology Education Program of Jember University. There are several problems in the lecture based on the analysis of teaching materials needs. These problems are such as the source of many teaching materials that use English, so the students get difficult in understanding the material, students are looking forward to the material with a simple language and easy to understand, and having interesting illustrations. The purpose of this study is to produce a supplementary book of Genetics in Biology Education Program in University of Jember. The supplementary book which was being developed is a research-based supplementary book with development model R&D Borg and Gall. The supplementary book was validated by a material expert, a development expert, and tested on a small group of 15 students. The result of material validation showed the value of 81,39%, developing validation 97,96%, and the result of reading test 73,66%. Overall, the supplementary book is valid enough with a little revision. Salah satu jenis buku nonteks adalah buku suplemen. Matakuliah Genetika adalah matakuliah yang diajarkan di Program Studi Pendidikan Biologi Universitas Jember. Terdapat beberapa permasalahan didalam perkuliahan tersebut berdasarkan analisis kebutuhan bahan ajar. Permasalahan tersebut diantaranya adalah sumber bahan ajar banyak yang menggunakan bahasa Inggris sehingga mahasiswa merasa kesulitan dalam memahami materi, mahasiswa sangat mengharapkan materi dengan bahasa yang sederhana dan mudah dipahami, dan disertai ilustrasi menarik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menghasilkan buku suplemen bahan ajar mata kuliah Genetika di Program Studi Pendidikan Biologi Universitasi Jember Buku suplemen yang dikembangkan merupakan buku suplemen yang berbasis penelitian dengan model pengembangan R&D Borg and Gall. Buku suplemen divalidasi oleh ahli materi, ahli pengembangan, dan diuji coba pada kelompok kecil dengan 15 mahasiswa. Hasil validasi materi menunjukkan nilai 81,39%, validasi pengembangan buku 97,96%, dan hasil uji keterbacaan 73,66%. Secara keseluruhan buku yang dikembangkan dalam kategori valid dan cukup valid dengan sedikit revisi. Revisi buku dilakukan berdasarkan saran dan komentar yang diberikan oleh validator dan mahasiswa uji coba kelompok kecil.

Abstract

This research aims to identify misconceptions of Biodiversity and Protist material. This type of research is a quantitative descriptive study. The sampling technique is purposive sampling with the provisions that misconceptions have not been identified, and students have received Biodiversity and protists. The object of the research is the students of class XI SMA Islam Malang, SMAN 1 Trenggalek, MAN 2 Lamongan, and SMAN 1 Pare, each in one class with a total of 127 students. Retrieval of data using a diagnostic instrument in the form of multiple-choice open reason (MCOR) with a total of 15 questions about Biodiversity and 15 questions about Protist. The results showed the average of misconceptions of 22,08% experienced by students on Biodiversity and the mean of misconceptions of 13,25% experienced by students on Protist. The highest misconception occurred in the threat indicator of biodiversity damage that is equal to 35,91%. Whereas for Protist, the highest misconception occurred in the sub-indicator identification of the general characteristics of Protist like an animal that is 26,28%. The conclusion is the misconception on the material of Biodiversity and Protist, including misconception type 2 or Mi-2, that is, students answer incorrectly to the core questions and are accompanied by the right reasons. A suggestion from the research that has been done is that it is necessary to develop a level three diagnostic instrument used by experts to find out students' misconceptions so that the results are more detailed. Besides, it is necessary to identify the causes of misconceptions and identify misconceptions in student handbooks on Biodiversity and Protist.

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of teaching materials in the form of the PjBL-based Electronic Encyclopedia of Ethnobotany equipped with Augmented Reality (AR) for Biology undergraduate students in ethnobotany courses. The learning outcomes measured are digital literacy, critical thinking skills, and collaboration. The research population is students of the Department of Biology at the State Islamic University of Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang who programmed the Ethnobotany course in the odd semester of the 2021/2022 academic year as many as seventeen students. This type of research is research and development using the Lee & Owens model with a research design of One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Data analysis using N-Gain Score and Paired Sample T-Test. The results showed that the PjBL-based Ethnobotany Electronic Encyclopedia equipped with Augmented Reality (AR effectively improves digital literacy, critical thinking skills and collaboration of Biology undergraduate students. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur efektifitas bahan ajar berupa Ensiklopedia Elektronik Etnobotani berbasis PjBL dilengkapi dengan Augmented Reality (AR) terhadap mahasiswa S1 Biologi pada mata kuliah etnobotani. Hasil belajar yang diukur yakni literasi digital, keterampilan berpikir kritis, dan kolaborasi. Populasi penelitian yakni mahasiswa Jurusan Biologi Universitas Islam Negeri Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang yang memprogram mata kuliah Etnobotani pada semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2021/2022 sebanyak 17 Mahasiswa. Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian dan pengembangan menggunakan model Lee & Owens dengan desain penelitian One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Analisis data menggunakan N-Gain Score dan Paired Sample T-Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Ensiklopedia Elektronik Etnobotani berbasis PjBL dilengkapi dengan Augmented Reality (ARefektif meningkatkan literasi digital, keterampilan berpikir kritis dan kolaborasi mahasiswa S1 Biologi.
