Abstract

The objectives of this research are to find out the influence of trichokompos TKKS with NPK fertilizer formulations and to get the best treatment of formulation for the growth of oil palm seedling (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.)which derived of multy embrio. This  research has  been  conducted  in  the Agriculture  Experimental  Station  Faculty  of  Agriculture,  University  of  Riau, District of Tampan, the research was  carried out for 4 months starting in September 2014  to  Desember  2014. This research arranged experimentally using Completely Randomized Design (CRD), consist of 5 treatments and 3 replications, so obtained 15 units of experiment. The treatments are P0:Without fertilizer,P1: Trichokompos TKKS 74,5 g/polybag+ NPK 2 tablet. P2: Trichokompos TKKS 74,5 g/polybag+ NPK 4 tablet.P3:Trichokompos TKKS 124,5 g/polybeg + NPK 2 tablet. P4:Trichokompos 124,5 g/polybag + NPK 4 tablet. Analysis of variance result showing significantly difference, continued with Duncans New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT)at level 5%. Based on research result which has been done indicates that giving various doses of trichokompos TKKS with NPK fertilizer formulations give an significantly effect on all parameters observed. From this research giving the best formulation at dose 124,5 g trichokompos TKKS + 4 Tablet NPK on all parameter observed.The final results of observationsshowing that the average of high, number of leaves and cusps diameter oil palm seedlingof multy embrio origin which aged 6 months has exceeded the growth standards issued by PPKS.So oil palm seedling of multy embrio origin worth for use as plant material.   Keywords:Oil palm, Multy embrio, Trichokompos TKKS, NPK fertilizer.

Abstract

Plant oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) is one of plantation crop which plays an important role for Indonesia as a mainstay commodity for export and commodity that can increase farmers’ income results. Nurseries is the initial activity in the field that aims to prepare seedlings ready for planting. The research aims to determine the effect of some types ash on the growth of oil palm seedlings and determine the type of ash is best for growth of oil palm seedlings in the main nursery. Experimental research conducted at the Faculty of Agriculture University of Riau, from April to August 2015. This study uses a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) which consist of 6 treatments and 4 repeat, to obtain 24 units of trial. Treatment given, among others : without dust, ash oil palm empty bunch, ash of oil palm fruit shells, ash sawdust, ash rice husk and ash rice straw. Data were analyzed using ANOVA and continued with further test Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5%. Research that has been carried out showed that giving some kind of as in oil palm seedlings show the real effect of the parameters on the increase in diameter hump and dry weight of seedlings, but the effect not real of the parameters as heigh of seedlings, increase the number of leave, root volume and ratio crown roots. Treatments sawdust ash and ash oil palm empty bunch showed better results for the growth of iol palm seedlings.   Keywords: Ash, oil palm, main nursery

Abstract

This study aim to determine the effect of compost on the growth of           Azolla microphylla PB 260 clone rubber seedlings mini stump. This research has been conducted at Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau starting from April to July 2013. The research was carried out experimentally using completely randomized design non factorial consisting of 4 treat ments  and 3 replications, obtained 12 experimental units and each unit consists of 3 seeds so that total earned is 36 rubber seedlings and as sample 2 seedlings per unit experiment. Compost treatment given to the provision of  treatment levels; 0, 15, 30 and 45 g/polybag (0, 10, 20 and 30 ton/ha) mixed by weighing soil 3 kg. The data were statistically analyzed using analysis of variance, followed by Duncan's test New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at the level of 5%. Parameters observed are lenght of grafting (cm), stem graft girth (cm), number of leaves (sheet), leaf area (cm²) and shoot root ratio (g). Giving Azolla microphylla compost on growing mini stump  rubber seedling significantly effect on extending the graft and number of leaves. Meanwhile, for stem graft girth, leaf area and shoot root ratio reveal not significant. Compost dosing 30 g/polybag shows the best results for the growth of rubber seedlings mini stump compared them 0, 15 and 45 g/polybag. Abstract

The objective of this study was to know the effect of giving stimulant ethephon to latex production increase and to obtain the best dose of stimulant ethephon with groove application technique. The experiment was carried out rubber plantation of  citizenry. Bencah Kelubi village, Tapung Subdistrict, Kampar Regency from February to March 2015.The study arranged experimentally using Completely Randomized Block Design with five treatments and Four block then obtained 20 experimental units. The treatments were ethephon dose 0 cc plant-1 (without ethephon’s application), ethephon dose 0,3 cc plant-1, ethephon dose 0,6 cc plant-1, ethephon dose 0,9 cc plant-1, and ethephon dose 1,2 cc plant-1. Parameters observed were duration of latex flow, volume of latex and Dry Rubber Content. Data were analyzed statistically using ANOVA and followed by LSD at level of 5%. The results showed that ethephon’s application real effect to increase on duration of latex flow and the volume of latex. ethephon’s application dose 0,3 cc plant-1 showed the best result for duration of latex flow (the increase of 0 cc plant-1 were 0,321 ml/minute) and volume of latex (the increase of control were 25,633 ml. Ethephon’s application dose 0,3 cc plant-1 showed dry rubber content relatively better than other treatment were 71,078%. Keywords : Heveabrasiliensis Muell Arg., ethephon, groove application

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of non-governmental palm oil cultivation techniques (Elaeis guineensis Jacq) in tidal area on Bangko Pusako District Rokan Hilir Regency. The research was conducted on tidal land at the village of Bangko Kanan and Bangko Kiri in Bangko Pusako District Rokan Hilir  Regency, from April to July 2013. This study was conducted using survey and processed data presented in descriptive form. The number of respondents in this study were 40 respondents, based on  5% level of representation. 17 respondents drawn from the Bangko Kanan and 23 respondents drawn from the Bangko Kiri. The parameters studied were the origin of the seeds, plant spacing, size of planting holes, transplanting seedlings to the field, eradication of weeds, fertilizing, castration, plant population/ha, water level measurements and measurements of distance of land from the river. The results show that the average production of farmers palm oil are still very low at less than 50% when compared to the average production of palm oil of PTPN V on mineral lands in general. The low production of palm oil cultivation techniques of farmers due to conducted as seed origin, plant spacing, pattern spacing, the size of the planting hole, transplanting seedlings into the ground, fertilizing, castration and plant population/ha are still quite low level of the appropriate palm oil cultivation techniques application in the field. Abstract

The research intent to know the effect of giving ethephon stimulant to the latex production of rubber plant with bark application technique. Research conducted in plantation of people rubber, Countryside of Bencah Kelubi, District of Tapung, Regency of Kampar from February till March 2015. This research  arranged experimentally by using Completely Randomized Block Design which consist of  5 treatments ( without giving of ethephon, giving dose of ethephon 0,3 cc plant-1, giving dose of ethephon 0,6 cc plant-1, giving dose of ethephon 0,9 cc plant-1, giving dose of ethephon 1,2 cc plant-1) and 4 group then obtained 20 experimental units with 3 tree each every unit. Parameter observed duration of latex flow, volume of latex and Dry Rubber Content. Data analyzed statistically using ANOVA and followed with LSD at level 5% if the results of analysis of variance significant. Result of research indicate that giving of ethephon stimulant with dose 0,9 cc plant-1 tend to increase parameters duration of latex flow and latex volume of local clone rubber. Abstract

The used of organic fertilizers that environment friendly and do not damage nature is the best solution in the cultivation of green beans (Vigna radiata L.). Vermicompost organic fertilizer is one of the more qualified than the other organic fertilizers. This organic fertilizer is the result of composting without worms.The purpose of this study was to examine the use of multiple doses of vermicompost fertilizer and get a dose of fertilizer is best for the growth and production of green beans. This research has been conducted in the gauze, experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, from December 2013 to February 2014. This study was performed experimentally using a completely randomized design (CRD), 5 treatments and 3 replicates with 6 plants per experimental unit, 3 plants used as a sample. The parameters measured were plant height (cm), number of primary branches (branches), days to flowering (days), pod formation age (days), maturity (days), number of pods per plant pithy (pieces), the number of empty pods per plant (pieces), dried seed weight per plant (g) and weight of 100 seeds (g). The data analysis results were significant statistical test followed by least significant difference (LSD) at the 5% level. The results of this study indicate that vermicompost fertilizer on green beans significantly affect flowering, pod formation age, maturity and weight of 100 seeds. Vermicompost fertilizer at a dose of 40 g/polybag give the best results on a number of parameters compared to the other doses. Keywords : Fertilizer, Vermicompost, Dose, Green Bean

Abstract

Plant oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq) is a plant that is a top priority in Indonesian plantations. Liquid smoke is a liquid organic fertilizer made ​​by using waste oil palm empty fruit bunches (TKKS). This study aims to examine the use of multiple doses of Liquid Smoke oil palm empty fruit bunches and determine dose tested for the growth of oil palm seedlings. This research has been carried out in the garden experiment Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, Jalan Bina Widya, New Simpang Village, District Handsome. This research was conducted with completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 7 treatments and 3 replications. The data obtained were analyzed statistically by analysis of variance and then proceed to test Duncans New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at the level of 5%. Parameters measured were high pertambahn seedlings (cm), in the number of leaves (blade), added girth seed weevil (cm), dry weight (g), the ratio of crown roots, seed quality index. The results showed that administration of 150 ml of liquid smoke TKKS / polybag shows the effect of the increase in plant height, plant dry weight in plants in Main aunt palm nursery. Abstract

The process of developing oil palm cultivation is closely associated with the availaibility of quality seed. Quality seed is very determining the growth and production of such commodities. Supply of cocoa peel’s compost into the soil may increase the availability of nutrient elements both macro and micro. The research is aimed to know the influence of of cocoa peel’s compost on the growth of the oil palm seeds in the main nursery. The research was carried out experimentally by using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with consists of four treatments and three replication. The results of research that application of cocoa peel’s compost to the oil palm seed is significantly to seed height increment, but not significantly to the number of leaves, diameter of excrescence, the ratio of the editorial root and dry weight. The application of cocoa peel’s compost with increasingly high doses tend to increase diameter of excrescence and dry weight of oil palm seed, while on parameters the number of leaves and the ratio of the editorial root not tend to increase of growing oil palm seed. The application 150 g compost/polybag or same with 37,5 ton/ha, shows the best growth of oil palm seed. Key Word : Cocoa Peel’s Compost, Oil Palm Seed

Abstract

Agarwood (Aquilaria malaccensis) is one character of forest plants that deliver really good quality with high economic value, because the forest contains a fragrant resin To overcome the scarcity of agarwoodgaharu cultivation needs to be exercised both in the forest or outside the woodland region.Referring to the cultivation of the required quality gaharu seedlings.The means to answer that is by giving PGR.Auxin found in plants are very few in number, and so it should be added exogenous auxin.One of the natural plant growth regulator that can be utilized in breeding agarwood was the juice of the onion. Juice of onion contains growth regulators, which have a role as Indol Acetic Acid. The experimentation was led at the experimental field of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau. The experiment was conducted in December 2013 through the month of April 2014. This research was carried out experiments using a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of five treatments, Z0: without PGR origin onion, Z1: PGR origin onion 5 ml / l of water, Z2: PGR origin onion 10 ml / l of water, Z3: PGR origin onion 15 ml / l of water and Z4: PGR origin onion 20 ml / l of water. The parameters measured were plant height, in the number of leaves , leaf area , leaf weight , stem circumference , number of branches , root volume , wet weight , dry weight and the ratio of the root crown. Giving PGR on agarwood seeds can increase the value of agarwood seedling growth, as determined in the parameters as height, increase in the number of leaves, leaf area, stem girth, fresh weight and dry weight.Offering a natural PGR derived from the onion with a concentration of 1.5 % and 2 % gave the best seedling growth Keyword : Onion, PGR, seedlings agarwood.
