Abstract

Biochar is an organic material instantly made by burning wood into charcoal by pyrolysis, which can meet the high demand for an organic material that cannot be available in a short time. The study aimed to determine the effect of biochar and Chromolaena odorata liquid fertilizer (CLF) enriched with Sodium bicarbonate on soil pH and Muskmelon (Cucumis melo L.) productivity. The research was conducted from December to February 2019 at the field station of Tamansiswa University, Padang. The study was carried out in a factorial experiment with 2 treatment factors arranged in a Completely Randomized Design, consisting of three replications within treatments. The data obtained were analyzed using the F test at 5%, followed by the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test at 5%. The results showed that there was an interaction effect of Biochar and CLF application on reducing the soil pH. Among all treatments, the application of 2 t.Ha-1 biochar combined with 50 ml.L-1 CLF + 0 g.L-1 sodium bicarbonate resulted in the highest growth rate and yield of muskmelon in Ultisols soil.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui interaksi pengaruh Sediaan Salut dan Pupuk Organik Cair Unitas Super terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil kedelai (Glycine max.L Merril).  Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap yang disusun secara faktorial dengan 2 perlakuan  dan 3 ulangan.  Faktor pertama sediaan salut terdiri atas 2 taraf yaitu tanpa salut SO (kontrol) dan S1 (1kg tanah + 1kg kompos + 100gr kapur +0,5 kg tanah bekas tanam kedelai + 10 gr pupuk PK), faktor ke 2 adalah aplikasi POC  yang terdiri atas 4 taraf yaitu 0 ml/L,10ml/L,20 ml/L,30 ml/L.  Hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa pemberian tanpa Salut dan POC US pada taraf 30 ml/L  dapat meningkatkan tinggi tanaman, rasio tajuk akar, dan bobot 100 biji.Key words : kedelai, salut, pupuk organik cair

Abstract

Indonesian rice yields are still relatively low. One of the efforts to increase the yield of rice plants is to trim the foliages before flowering, in addition to the application of ‘Unitas Super’ liquid organic fertilizer (LOF). The study was carried out in the Lubuk Lintah Village, Padang City in May - September 2017. The aim of the study was to investigate the effectiveness of pruning, as a source of forage, and the concentration of ‘Unitas Super’ liquid organic fertilizer in improving rice yields. The experiment was arranged in split plot design with main plots consisting of 2 levels, namely pruning at 45 days and without pruning. The subplots consisted of 3 concentrations of ‘Unitas Super’ liquid organic fertilizer, namely 0 ml L-1, 50 ml L-1, and100 ml L-1. All treatments were replicated 3 times. Data were analyzed statistically using the F test at 5% and tested using LSD at 5%. According to the results of the observations, it can be concluded that pruning reduced the weight of 1000 seeds and panicle length, but did not reduce the yield of harvested dry grain and harvest index. Application of ‘Unitas Super’ liquid organic fertilizer did not significantly increase the growth and yield of Black Madras purple rice. The highest dry grain yield was 4.04 t ha-1 observed in plants sprayed with 50 ml L-1 ‘Unitas Super’ liquid organic fertilizer without pruning treatment.

Abstract

The study titled " Rice Cultivation pruned periodically And Fertilized By Chromolaena odorata Compost (CC)" had been carried out during the second period of the growing season, the first season (MT1), and the second season (MT2), was ratoon. The aimed was to reach maximum forage and yield of rice pruned periodically fertilized by C.odorata compost. The experiments were conducted in Split-plot, which was arranged in a completely randomized design. The main plot consists of two levels; not pruned (P0) and pruned (P1). The subplot was three doses of CC, namely; 5 Mg ha-1 (B1); 7.5 Mg ha-1 (B2) and 10 Mg ha-1 (B3). The parameters observed; plant height, maximum and productive tiller, the production of forage, the percentage of empty grain, grain weight. Data were analyzed statistically if the real effect of treatment then continued with Honestly Significant Difference test α 5%. The results proved that there was no influence C.odorata compost, on the growth and yield of rice both at the MT1 and MT2. Forage fodder (HMT) decreased acquisition on MT2 (ratoon) up to 50% compared to HMT at MT1. An increase in the empty grain to 4-fold in ratoon model (MT2) than MT1. From an economic perspective, there was a loss of farmers, pruning, until MT2, Rp. 2.9 million compared to plants that were not pruned but also be ratoon.

Abstract

Kegiatan penghjauan di Pantai Parupuk Tabing Kota Padang merupakan suatu keharusan dan menjadi tanggung jawab semua fihak.  Hal ini karena kondisi pantai yang sangat tandus, dan mengkhawatirkan adanya isu tsunami yang akan membahayakan secara langsung masyarakat yang ada ditepi pantai.  Saat ini pemerintah Kota Padang sudah membangun crip pemecah ombak dengan menumpuk secara teratur batu coral menjorok ke laut yang berguna memecah ombak.  Namun jika ada bencana gempa yang besar, hal ini dianggap akan membahayakan.  Oleh sebab itu penghijauan pantai menggunakan tanaman casuarina equisetifolia menjadi laternatif yang paling aman.  Masyarakat digandeng bersama dalam upaya menghijuakan pantai, baik dalam kegiatan menyulam tanaman yang mati atau juga memelihara tanaman yang tumbuh. Dari kegiatan memberikan edukasi kepada masyarakat pantai upaya pemeliharaan tanaman yang baik, mampu menurunkan angka kematian tanaman dari 30%  menjadi 5% saja. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan penyuluhan kepada masyarakat agar mampu memelihara lingkungan khususnya menjaga tanaman yang tumbuh agar tepi pantai terpelihara tetap hijau. Selain itu, diharapkan pantai tidak mudah tergerus ombak. Kesimpulan kegiatan penghijauan pantai Parupuk Tabing dengan menggunakan tanaman Casurina sangat efektif dalam memelihara pantai dari kekeringan dan kegersangan. Upaya tersebut menjadi sangat besar maknanya karena ada  komitmen bersama antara masyarakat sekitar yang mendapat manfaat dari penghijauan tersebut. Kerjasama dengan masyarakat mencegah banyaknya tanaman yang mati akibat kekeringan.

Abstract

The objective of the study was to obtain the proper concentration of POC Unitas Super on the optimal growth and yield of local cayenne pepper (Capsicum frutescens L.). The experiment was conducted at Kanagarian Toboh Gadang, Padang Pariaman, from July to October 2017. The location is at 20 m asl, and is 10 km from the district capital, in the dry land of latosol soil type. The tools used are the hoe, stand, rope, bucket, analytical scale, meter, rake, and stationery. Materials needed include; local cayenne pepper seedlings result from propagation of local cayenne pepper seeds, POC Unitas Super (US) obtained from Faculty of Agriculture Universitas Tamansiswa Padang. NPK Compound Fertilizers (15-15-15) are given 50% recommendation, and manure as much as 5 ton ha-1. The experiment was conducted using Completely Randomized Design, with 5 treatment of POC concentration ie; P0 (0 ml L-1); P1 (25 ml L-1); P2 (50 ml L-1) and P3 (75 ml L-1), replicate 4 times, so there were 20 experimental units. The data obtained were analyzed statistically by using F (ANOVA) test of 5% real level if the treatment had the significant effect on BNT further test (smallest real difference) at 5% level. The parameters observed were; plant height, number of branches, the diameter of plant canopy, the age of flowering, the yield of cayenne pepper. The giving of 50 ml of L-1 POC Unitas Super every 2 weeks is the optimum concentration to increase the growth and yield of cayenne pepper (Capsicum frutescens L.). The production of cayenne pepper produced reached 5.55 kg plot-1 or equal to 55.50 tons ha-1.

Abstract

Procurement of artificial fertilizers is very limited, in addition to the high price, sometimes the distribution of fertilizer at retail kiosks experiences various obstacles in the smooth distribution. Therefore there must be other efforts in the procurement of liquid organic fertilizers (LOF) that take from raw materials found in nature. The purpose was to socialize the manufacture of C.odora LOF and its application techniques and benefits to plants. This counseling was carried out at the Nanggalo Agricultural Extension Center (BPP) office, Padang City. The activity began with a request from the Nanggalo Agricultural Extension Center, Padang City, to the Faculty of Agriculture for their willingness to provide counseling in their office. In accordance with the agreed schedule, the activities were carried out. In this activity, the team from the Faculty of Agriculture, consisted of 3 group members and was attended by no less than 20 Padang City instructors. On this occasion, the activity began with remarks from the Head of BPP, then a lecture using an LCD projector and a question and answer discussion about the topics discussed and a group photo. The conclusion was that making of LOF has become important at this time because artificial fertilizers are increasingly expensive and limited in availability. Agricultural extension workers have an important role in disseminating this activity to farmer groups in their working areas. Making LOF is also one of the efforts to reduce organic waste that can pollute the environment.

Abstract

Community service activities have been conducted in Ikur Lubuk Urban Village, Padang Panjang Timur Subdistrict, Padang Panjang City, in March-July 2016. Activities are demonstration plots (demplot) by planting rice that is given Liquid Organic Fertilizer (LOF) and pruning treatment. The purpose of the devotion is to socialize the demonstration plot so that the community can apply the pruning technology of HMT (forage and livestock feed) and the application of LOF Crocober to the paddy field of medium elevation area, Padang Panjang, so as to obtain HMT and optimal dried rice yield. Activities including the demplot establishment and LOF production. The results of the activity concluded that Crocober organic fertilizer product derived from Chromolaena odorata is the best LOF type and has a better quality than commercial LOF which is distributed in the market and already have PATENT approval. Pruning can help provide HMT for cattle to cope with the high imports of Indonesian meat. Treatment of pruning on paddy rice will be advantageous if pruning is done periodically with the pattern of rice cultivation which is named by salibu. Forage which is obtained in the area of 1 hectare of rice fields per year is able to meet the needs of 2 cows for 1 year.

Abstract

Penelitian tentang “ Respon Pertumbuhan tanaman Pinang (Areca catechu. L) Akibat Pemberian Beberapa Dosis Cendawan Mikoriza Arbuskula “ dilaksanakan di rumah setengah bayangan dan laboratorium Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Barat. Tujuan Penelitian, untuk mendapatkan dosis pupuk Cendawan Mikoriza Arbuskula (CMA) yang tepat untuk tanaman Pinang. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), dengan 5 taraf dan 4 ulangan yaitu : dosis fungi mikoriza arbuskula : 0, 5, 10, 15 dan 20 g/tanaman. Data pengamatan dianalis secara statistika dengan uji F pada taraf nyata 5 %. Hasil peneltian memperlihatkan untuk pertumbuhan tanaman Pinang dosis 20 g/tanaman memberikan hasil yang terbaik untuk pertumbuhan tanaman Pinang.

Abstract

The aim of this experiment is to get the right concentration in auxin application for growth and production of red rice on sistem bujur sangkar utama. This experiment was carried out from March to June 2019 in the Nagari Aie Tajun rice fields in Lubuk Alung District, Padang Pariaman Regency. The experiment used this type of Randomized Block Design (RAK) with 4 groups. The treatment factor was auxin ZPT (Z), which consisted of 5 levels, namely the conventional system (control), Auxin 0 ml/L, Auxin 1 ml/L, Auxin 2 ml/L, Auxin 3 ml/L. The experiment consisted of 5 treatments and 4 replications in order to obtain 20 experimental units. The data were processed with variance with levels of = 0.05 and 0.01 and continued with the DNMRT test at levels = 0.05 and 0.01. Based on the experiments that have been carried out, it can be concluded that the treatment of the concentration of 3 ml/auxin with a square system the main produce per hectare is 6.44 Mg.ha-1. Tujuan dalam percobaan ini adalah untuk mendapatkan konsentrasi yang tepat dalam aplikasi Auksin untuk pertumbuhan dan produksi padi merah pada sistem bujur sangkar utama. Percobaan ini di lakasanakan dari Maret hingga Juni 2019 di lahan sawah Nagari Aie Tajun di Kecamatan Lubuk Alung, Kabupaten Padang PariamanPercobaan menggunakan tipe Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) ini dengan 4 kelompok. Faktor perlakuan yaitu ZPT auksin (Z), yang terdiri dari 5 taraf yaitu sistem konvensional (kontrol), Auksin 0 ml/L, Auksin 1 ml/L, Auksin 2 ml/L, Auksin 3 ml/L . Percobaan terdiri dari 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan sehingga didapat 20 satuan percobaan. Data diolah dengan sidik ragam dengan taraf = 0,05 dan 0,01 serta dilanjutkan dengan uji DNMRT pada taraf = 0,05 dan 0,01.Berdasarkan percobaan yang telah dilakukan dapat disimpulkan pada perlakuan konsentrasi 3 ml/L auksin dengan sistem bujur sangkar utama menghasilkan produksi perhektar yaitu 6.44 Mg.ha-1.
