Abstract

This study aims to (1) identify synonymy and (2) antonym in prisoners' autobiographies. This research method uses descriptive qualitative. The data of this study are words, phrases, clauses and sentences that show synonymical and antonymy lexical cohesion tools. The data source was in the form of inmates' autobiographical texts in the Prison Class IA Surakarta. Data collection techniques with documentation, refer and note techniques. Data analysis techniques with the matching and agitating methods. The basic technique used in the padan method is the referential sorting technique. The basic technique used in the distribution method is the technique for direct elements (BUL) and advanced techniques in the form of dressing techniques. The results showed first, the use of synonyms in the form of words with more words than other types of synonyms. The use of word synonyms with words is 48%, followed by free morphemes with 16% bound morphemes, words with 12% phrases, words with 8% clauses, phrases with 8% phrases, and clauses with 8% clauses. Second, antonymy consists of absolute opposition 36%, polar opposition 33%, relationship 17%, hierarchy 7%, and compound 7%. Thus, absolute opposition is the most dominant type of antonym in prisoners' autobiographies.

Abstract

Gibran, the eldest son of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, won the election and currently serves as Surakarta Mayor for the period 2021-2026. Netizens’ Surakarta have great hopes for his leadership. Gibran’s inauguration attracted spotlight, because he is the first child in the Republic of Indonesia (Ir. Joko Widodo). The formulations of the research problems are: (1) What is the form of speech acts of netizens toward Gibran’s inauguration pragmatically? And (2) What is the form of speech acts of netizens toward Gibran’s inauguration anthropolinguistically? This study aims (1) to describe the form of netizens’ speech acts toward Gibran's inauguration pragmatically, (2) to describe the form of netizens’ speech acts toward Gibran's inauguration anthropolinguistically. This research is included in a qualitative with description approach. The data are in the form of speech acts which contain pragmatic and anthropolinguistic aspects of netizens comments. The data source is written language taken from the Instagram comments column that posted Gibran's inauguration. The data collection technique used was the observation and taking note techniques. Methods of data analysis uses intralingual equivalents in the form of pragmatic equivalents and antroprolinguistics. The results indicate that in netizens’ comments there are speech acts in a pragmatic manner, namely locutionary, illocutionary, and perlocutionary. Apart from being pragmatics, there are antroprolinguistic speech acts, namely saying congratulations, being happy, hoping/asking, and giving advice. The speech acts of the netizens’ Surakarata, both pragmatically and anthropolinguistically (anthropopragmatically), aim to accept a new leader and define Javanese culture.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the implementation of AIK learning program with the Baitul Arqam model at the Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta in the 2019/2020 year. This study employed a qualitative approach to research. In collecting data, this study used observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation techniques, while the data validation was a triangulation of data sources and theories. This study's data analysis applied a CIPP Stufflebeam analysis. The results showed that (1) evaluating the AIK learning program with the Baitul Arqam model can be stated quite well in planning, organization, and implementation. The evaluation results on the supervision aspect of AIK learning program within the Baitul Arqam model can be unfavorable. Supervision was carried out only when students follow Baitul Arqam. Maintenance carried out after following the AIK learning with the Baitul Arqam model was not held. (2) The challenges faced by the AIK learning program with the Baitul Arqam model included: (a) the need for strategic planning, (b) qualified educators based on the standards, (c) a campus environment, and (d) an integrated supervision model.

Abstract

Overcapacity in prisons and non maximized empowerment activities can affect the psychological prisoners such as stress, boredom, or anxiety. Autobiographical expressive writing is used as a way to express regret, sadness, distress, stress, boredom, anxiety, and hone their potential. The research aims: (1) to identify the use of prisoners’ expressive perlocotion; and (2) to uncover prisoners’ problems in Rutan class I A Surakarta. The research type is descriptive-qualitative using a psycho pragmatic approach. Data sources are autobiographical texts write by prisoners in Rutan Class IA Surakarta from a variety of cases and diverse educational backgrounds. Data analysis methods are translasional identity (the determining tool is language/speech), referential identity (the determining tool is something outside the language or problems faced by prisoners and ESA types), and pragmatic identity (the determining tool is the interlocutor). Based on the results and discussion concluded that (1) the speech act of expressive perlocotion in prisoners’ autobiography in Rutan Class I A Surakarta consists of regret, hope, recognition, complaining, pride, sadness, happiness, regret, suggest, criticize, resentment, disappointment, confidence, possibility, gratitude, and praise. (2) The problems disclosed by the prisoners relate to personal, social, economic, and legal issue.
