Abstract

A clinical trial simulation of Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT) for breast cancer was conducted at National Nuclear Energy Agency Yogyakarta, Indonesia. This was motivated by high rate of breast cancer in the world, especially in Indonesia. BNCT is a type of therapy by nuclear reaction 10B(n,α)7Li that produces kinetic energy totaling 2.79 MeV. High Linear Energy Transfer (LET) radiation of α-particle and recoil 7Li would locally deposit their energy in a range of 5-9 μm, which corresponds to the human cell diameter. Fast neutron coming out of Compact Neutron Generator (CNG) was moderated using Fe and MgF2 material. A collimator, along with breast cancer and the corresponding organ at risk were designed compatible to Monte Carlo N-Particle X (MCNPX). The radiation were simulated by the MCNPX software and the physical quantities were counted by tally MCNPX codes. The highest neutron thermal flux was found at a depth of 1.4 cm on fat tissue. En face and upward intersection radiation techniques were adopted for the breast cancer radiation. The average dose rate of radiation used on breast cancer was 1.72×10-5 Gy/s for the en face method and 8.98×10-6 Gy/s for the upward intersection method. Dose 50±3 Gy was given into cancer cell, (4.18±0.06) ×10-2 Gy into heart and (8.16±0.06) ×10-2Gy into lung for 806.34 hours irradiation.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze students' items and abilities—the analysis for mapping test instruments and students' basic concepts regarding optics subjects before lectures are held. The test participants were 35 physics students. The analysis model of item response theory is a one-parameter logistic model or Rasch Model with the scope of analysis of the level of item difficulty, student ability, and statements that fit the item response model. Analysis of item responses and student responses carried out using Winstep version 3.73 software. The results of the qualitative analysis of the test items consisted of memory (C1) analysis (C4). The quantitative analysis using the Rasch model showed that 35% of the total items were difficult category items. For the suitability of test items in the instrument by 85% of items fit or generally function in measurement, more than 57% of students have the geometric optical ability in logit values of 0 to 1. The results of item analysis and student ability become information for teachers to design courses such as method selection, project implementation strategies, and assessments are undertaken.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPerkembangan teknologi informasi yang pesat mengubah pola kehidupan pada berbagai aspek.  Wujud perkembangannya bisa dilihat pada aspek pendidikan diantaranya pelaksanaan belajar secara online dan evaluasi belajar secara online. Dampak lain dari perubahan tersebut yakni kecenderungan siswa menggunakan media belajar yang disukai, mudah diakses, serta tertarik pada media-media belajar yang interaktif. Pergeseran pola belajar siswa yang demikian menuntut guru untuk mencari serta membiasakan diri untuk menggunakan media belajar interaktif sesuai kebutuhan belajar. Media simulasi interaktif PhET adalah salah satu cara guru menghadirkan pembelajaran interaktif di tengah pembelajaran. Tujuan kegiatan yakni menjaring informasi siswa tentang pembelajaran menggunakan aplikasi simulasi PhET. Topik simulasi dalam kegiatan mencakup kesetimbangan benda, hukum Hooke serta gaya dan gerak benda. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah metode simulasi. Evaluasi kegiatan menggunakan angket respon pembelajaran dengan simulasi PhET. Hasilnya menunjukkan 88% siswa puas terhadap pembelajaran interaktif dengan media PhET. Selanjutnya penggunaan aplikasi interaktif ini diharapkan mampu membangun konsep-konsep fisika dan keterampilan proses sains siswa. Kata kunci: pembelajaran interaktif; simulasi PhET; hasil belajar. ABSTRACTThe rapid development of information technology changes the pattern of life in various aspects. The form of its development can be seen in the educational aspects including online learning implementation and online learning evaluation. Another impact of this change is the tendency of students to use learning media that they like, are easily accessible, and are interested in interactive learning media. This shift in student learning patterns requires teachers to seek out and get used to using interactive learning media according to learning needs. PhET interactive simulation media is one way for teachers to present interactive learning in the middle of learning. The purpose of the activity is to collect student information about learning using the PhET simulation application. Simulation topics in activities include the equilibrium of objects, Hooke's law and the forces and motion of objects. The method used in this activity is the simulation method. Evaluation of activities using a learning response questionnaire with a PhET simulation. The results showed that 88% of students were satisfied with interactive learning using PhET media. Furthermore, the use of this interactive application is expected to be able to build students' physics concepts and science process skills. Keywords: interactive learning; PhET simulation; learning outcomes.

Abstract

The problem of learning physics at the Oepoi Kupang Seminary High School is the limited use of teaching aids in physics learning. The purpose of the service activities carried out is to describe the satisfaction and benefits of the process of making teaching aids and the results of their use. Methods of implementation activities include observation and interviews, reviewing laboratory equipment, followed by preparation and training activities. The props made are binoculars, a hose and a U-pipe holder, and an image model for visualizing the formation of an object's image between two plane mirrors. The activity was carried out for three days and was attended by 25 students of class X SMA Seminar Oepoi Kupang. Furthermore, observations and filling out questionnaires on the satisfaction and benefits of participating in the activities carried out were carried out. The results of the activities carried out, the teacher and resource persons can make physics teaching aids that can explain physics material in more detail. The benefits and satisfaction of students participating in mentoring activities is that more than 80% of students are satisfied to feel the benefits of this mentoring activity.

Abstract

Penyampaian materi Fisika tentu memerlukan praktikum agar mahasiswa lebih memahami materi yang diajarkan. Namun, pada kenyataannya mahasiswa mengalami keterbatasan diantaranya ketidaktersediaan alat di laboratorium. Hal ini sangat mempengaruhi kemampuan mahasiswa untuk menguasai konsep fisika. Kegiatan PPM ini bertujuan untuk menyediakan alat praktikum Efek foto listrik di Prodi Pendidikan Fisika Unwira. Dengan ketersediaan alat praktikum diharapkan dapat meningkatkan mutu proses pembelajaran khususnya pada materi Efek foto Listrik. Metode yang dilakukan adalah dengan merakit alat percobaan Efek Foto Listrik, kemudian melatih mahasiswa untuk menggunakan alat tersebut dengan melakukan percobaan. Hasil yang diperoleh melalui kegiatan PPM ini adalah dua set alat percobaan efek foto listrik. Selain itu, mutu proses pembelajaran materi Efek foto listrik menjadi lebih baik, yang dapat dilihat persentasi peningkatan kemampuan menjawab soal konsep, yaitu dari 14 mahasiswa peningkatan  50% sebanyak 4 orang, 50%  100% sebanyak 3 orang dan 100%  200% sebanyak 7 orang.

Abstract

Kesadaran akan peran seorang pendidik, khususnya dosen, perlu mengembangkan diri melalui kegiatan tridharma perguruan tinggi, salah satunya adalah pengabdian kepada masyarakat. Melalui kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini, dirancang suatu kegiatan yakni pengoptimalan laboratorium melalui pelatihan penggunaan kit praktikum di SMPN. 8 Kota Kupang. Pelatihan ini diharapkan mampu meningkatkan kemampuan guru SMP untuk melakukan demonstrasi dan percobaan fisika di sekolah. Selain itu, guru di SMPN. 8 Kota Kupang diharapkan semakin kreatif dalam menyampaikan materi melalui kit praktikum yang telah tersedia di sekolah. Rancangan kegiatan optimalisasi laboratorium melalui pelatihan penggunaan kit praktikum dilakukan di SMPN. 8 Kota Kupang didasari dari hasil observasi serta diskusi dengan guru IPA Terpadu dan kepala sekolah. Pada saat diskusi, para guru IPA Terpadu mengungkapkan bahwa perlu dilakukan pelatihan untuk menggunakan kit praktikum fisika yang tersedia di sekolah, karena guru- guru IPA terpadu tidak semua berasal dari dasar pendidikan fisika, namun ada juga dari biologi. Oleh karena itu, Program Studi Fisika akan melakukan suatu kegiatan pelatihan penggunaan kit praktikum fisika di sekolan SMPN. 8 Kota Kupang, yang diharapkan dapat membantu pengembangan sekolah tersebut

Abstract

Abstrak Kegiatan Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat penerapan model pembelajaran aktif tipe learning tournament berbasis local wisdom untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa. pemahaman konsep yang mau di lihat meliputi interpreting, explaining, classifying, examplyfifying, inferring, summarizing dan compairing. Pembelajaran aktif tipe learning tournament mengajak siswa untuk belajar secara kooperatif, kolaboratif, kompetitif dan menciptakan kondisi pembelajaran lebih santai. Drinkwater, et al. (2014) membuktikan bahwa pembelajaran aktif menciptakan suasana belajar sehingga dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep dan penguatan karakter siswa. desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah One – Group Pretest- Posttest Design Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan tes untuk menjaring data kemampuan pemahaman konsep baik sebelum maupun sesudah pembelajaran. sementara itu untuk nilai hasil pre-test dan post-test yang diberikan menjadi bahan pertimbangan lain dalam menentukan peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep dan penguatan karakter siswa. setelah data-data tersebut terkumpul, maka tahap selanjutnya adalah analisis. dimana Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji Gain. berdasarkan hasil analisis pada tes pemahaman konsep yang menerapkan pembelajaran Aktif tipe learning Tournament Berbasis Local Wisdom, dengan menggunakan uji n-gain secara keseluruhan siswa mengalami peningkatan. peningkatan pada pemahaman konsep sebesar 0,82 dan dikategorikan tinggi. kata-kata kunci : Aktif Tipe Learning Tournament, local wisdom, Pemahaman konsep Abstract This research activity aims to see the application of active learning models based on local wisdom type learning tournament to improve students' understanding of concepts. Understanding the concepts to be seen include interpreting, explaining, classifying, exemplifying, inferring, summarizing and compairing. Active learning type learning tournament invites students to learn cooperatively, collaboratively, competitively, and create more relaxed learning conditions. Drinkwater, et al. (2014) proves that active learning creates a learning atmosphere so that it can improve the ability to understand concepts and strengthen students' character. The process of data collection in this study uses tests to capture data of understanding concepts, both before and after learning. meanwhile the value of the pre-test and post-test results given is another consideration in determining the increase in the ability to understand concepts and strengthen student character. After the data is collected, the next step is analysis. Where the data analysis technique used is the Gain test. Based on the results of the analysis on the concept understanding test that applies the Active Learning Type Learning Tournament Based on Local Wisdom, by using the n-gain test overall students have increased. Abstract

Serangan Covid-19 telah membuat umat manusia semakin sadar akan perlunya kecukupan asupan vitamin ke dalam tubuh. Salah satu vitamin yang diketahui dapat mendukung peningkatan imunitas adalah Vitamin D. Berdasarkan penelitian, asupan vitamin D yang cukup dapat meringankan infeksi saluran pernapasan. Vitamin D juga dapat disintesis oleh tubuh manusia sendiri melalui pajanan UVB pada kulit. Di sisi lain, pajanan yang tidak tepat juga dapat merusak kulit manusia. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendapatkan pola sebaran intensitas UVB sepanjang hari serta mengetahui waktu berjemur yang tepat dan optimal. Pengukuran intensitas dilakukan dengan bantuan alat solar meter model RGM-UVB. Pengukuran dilakukan mulai dari pukul 08.00 WITA – 16.00 WITA. Pola sebaran Intensitas UVB adalah dari rendah naik hingga puncak dan kemudian turun. Puncak Intensitas UVB berada pada pukul 11.00 WITA – 12.00 WITA dengan intensitas rata-rata diatas 200 mW/m2. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa wantu berjemur yang baik dan optimal adalah sekitar pukul 09.30 WITA dan 14.00 WITA dengan lama pajanan sekitar 15menit.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan pemahaman konsep dan minat belajar mahasiswa calon guru fisika setelah menggunakan simulasi PhET dan e-evaluation berbasis Hot Potatoes pada materi efek fotolistrik. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design, instrumen yang digunakan berupa soal tes pemahaman konsep dan angket minat belajar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata pemahaman konsep pada pre test sebesar 47%  dengan kategori sedang dan post test sebesar 82% dengan kategori sangat tinggi. Nilai N-Gain pemahaman konsep mahasiswa calon guru fisika sebesar 0,66 dengan kategori sedang sedangkan rata-rata minat belajar mahasiswa calon guru fisika sebesar 83% dengan kategori sangat tinggi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan simulasi PhET dan e-evaluation berbasis Hot-Potatoes dalam pembelajaran fisika modern sub bab efek fotolistrik berkontribusi pada peningkatan pemahaman konsep dan minat belajar yang tinggi dari mahasiswa calon guru fisika. Kata kunci: simulasi PhET; hot potatoes; efek fotolistrik; pemahaman konsep; minat. ABSTRACTThis study aims to determine the improvement of concept understanding and learning interest of prospective physics teacher students after using PhET simulation and e-evaluation based on Hot Potatoes on photoelectric effect material. This study used a One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design research design, the instruments used were concept understanding test questions and learning interest questionnaires. The results showed that the average understanding of concepts in the pre-test was 47% with a moderate category and the post-test was 82% with a very high category. The N-Gain value of conceptual understanding of prospective physics teacher students is 0.66 with a moderate category. In contrast, the average learning interest of prospective students is 83% with a very high category. The results showed that the use of PhET simulation and e-evaluation based on Hot-Potatoes in learning modern physics of photoelectric effect sub-chapter contributed to the improvement of concept understanding and high learning interest of prospective physics teacher students. Keywords: PhET simulation; hot potatoes; photoelectric effects; concept understanding; interests.

Abstract

Physics experiment festival activities have been carried out at SMPN 6 Kupang Tengah. This activity is in the form of community service activities. Festival activities consist of physics demonstrations, media and physics learning products exhibitions, and simple physics experiments. The selection of festival activities was determined based on the observation results. The results of the observations were the unavailability of Physics practicum tools and the absence of Integrated Science teachers with a Physics education background at the school. This condition causes Integrated Science learning to be minimal with physics practicum activities. The variable that is measured in this activity is student interest. The results of the analysis of students' interest in the Physics Experiment Festival activities were 85% of students very interested and 15% of students interested. The results also show that interesting physics learning, which is complemented by demonstrations and experiments, will increase students' interest in learning. Therefore, it is necessary for teachers to complement science learning with demonstrations or experiments involving students.
