Abstract

The theme of this paper is the role of the organization and social capital in the process of virtual collaboration. Business environment is constantly changing and the level of intense competition makes organizations  strive to create more sustainable value. For large organization  with large networks, there are geographical limitations that restrict the process of collaboration between its networks. Advances in technology enable and facilitate the organization to collaborate virtually. From the perspective of dynamic capabilities, virtual collaboration is conceptualized as the dynamic changes in the organization's ability to identify, integrate, and apply knowledge assets as learning materials to meet the competitive demands. Virtual collaboration here enables the process of communication and coordination organization, learning, and innovation-related decision-making processes, and process improvement.This paper uses a case study analysis to explore deeply about virtual collaboration and Social Capital in organization. The result  of the analysis in this paper suggests that engagement, transparency, and horizontal nature of the communication process  can encourage new organizational learning but they can only be done   for  business portfolio. More over, this research also reveals that social capital contributes to the enhancement of organization virtual collaboration process. In addition, cultural factors also limit the success of virtual collaboration on  the distribution of information in the organization at lower levels.

Abstract

Startups, as they are bounded to their liabilities of newness and smallness, need to collaborate extensively with their external partners through the open innovation process. This study aims to depict Co-working space's pivotal role in building up a working innovation ecosystem that facilitates open innovation for startups. To get a more deep understanding of the phenomena, this study used an exploratory study based on three case studies of Co-working spaces operated in the Jakarta region. The study shows that the open innovation process among startups is not naturally existed, but instead, it is purposefully designed by the role of a community manager who acts as the ecosystem catalyst. The community manager becomes the ecosystem enablers that facilitate the networking process by connecting members. As a result, these activities will help the emerging of mutual connection and collaboration processes among members that empower open innovation among startups members. The multiple-case design makes the study conclusions might be difficult to generalize. Future research, including quantitative studies, will help the conclusions examination and the knowledge enrichment of start-ups' open innovation process. This paper will enrich the knowledge concerning how Co-working spaces member seizing opportunities that lead to the open innovation process.

Abstract

In the midst of a business environment that is full of uncertainties, organizations must always be dynamic and improve entrepreneurship as a form of strategic response. Aims of this study are to explain the influence of perceived external business environment (dynamic, munificence, hostile and complex) as the organization external factor, and the tendency of individuals to take risks to entrepreneurial intentions at the level of individual branch heads. The object of this research is ABC Leasing which is experiencing environmental uncertainty as a result of the declining market of certain brand motorcycles as their main target of financing. The study was conducted based on 144 data collected from branch heads and Post Head Leasing ABC throughout Indonesia. Data analysis was analyzed using multiple regression to see the effect of perceived external business environment variables and risk propensity on entrepreneurial intentions. The results showed that the perceived of a dynamic business environment, the perceived of environmental munificence, the perceived of a complex environment and the tendency to take risks influence the formation of entrepreneurial intentions while the perception of a hostile environment has no significant effect.

Abstract

Pelayanan yang prima merupakan kunci keberhasilan di industri hotel. Oleh karena itu, karyawan front office di hotel, sebagai gambaran citra perusahaan sekaligus industri dituntut untuk menunjukkan pelayanan yang terbaik secara konsisten dari waktu-waktu. Untuk memenuhi tuntutan pekerjaan maka karyawan front office bekerja dengan waktu yang panjang dan tidak menentu. Hal ini membuat karyawan front office mengalami konflik peran dan kesulitan untuk menyeimbangkan tuntutan antara pekerjaan dengan keluarga. Konflik peran ini membuat pekerjaan front office memiliki tingkat stres kerja yang tinggi. Tingkat stress yang tinggi membuat keterlibatan di pekerjaan menjadi kurang maksimal yang akhirnya berdampak pada sikap ketidakpuasan terhadap hidup secara umum. Di Indonesia, penelitian mengenai kepuasan hidup karyawan front office hotel masih belum cukup banyak ditemui padahal sikap ketidakpuasan terhadap hidup karyawan dapat berdampak pada sikap dan pelayanan di tempat kerja. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh Work-Family Conflict, Family-Work Conflict terhadap stres kerja dan Kepuasan hidup pekerja front office hotel di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik sampling purposive terhadap 121 pekerja front office hotel di Indonesia. Hasil analisis data menggunakan SEM-PLS menunjukkan bahwa Work-Family Conflict dan Family-Work Conflict berpengaruh positif terhadap stres kerja, dan stres kerja yang tinggi akan berpengaruh negatif terhadap kepuasan hidup. Lebih lanjut, hasil analisis menunjukan Work-Family Conflict dan Family-Work Conflict tidak berpengaruh terhadap kepuasan hidup. Mengingat pentingnya tingkat kepuasan hidup terhadap sikap layanan pekerja, maka Manajemen hotel diharapkan untuk membuat kebijakan yang memfasilitasi tuntutan keluarga dan pekerjaan untuk mengurangi stres kerja.

Abstract

Entrepreneurship in Indonesia is still relatively low and lagging behind other ASEAN countries because the number of entrepreneurs in Indonesia has only reached 3.47% of the total population. College students have become one of the vital sources of supply for entrepreneurs in Indonesia. Therefore, to increase the number of entrepreneurs, the Indonesian government encourages higher education to produce graduates looking for work and creating jobs. Even though the government and universities have tried to increase the number of entrepreneurial students, the number of students who choose entrepreneurship as a professional career choice is still low. This research was conducted to see how students' entrepreneurial intention (EI) in Indonesia as a forecaster of entrepreneurial behaviour. The research analyses the effect of proactive personality traits and the theory of planned behaviour (TPB) as an integrated model, with the TPB dimension as a mediator. The research was conducted by using judgmental sampling of 387 students in Indonesia. Data collection was carried out using an e-survey, and data were analyzed using structural equation modelling with Partial Least Square (PLS). Research result shows that proactive personality and TPB are predictors of students' entrepreneurial intentions. This study also shows that TPB mediates the relationship between proactive personality towards Student' entrepreneurial intention. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the EI study of students in Indonesia. Scientifically, this research is also expected to enrich the EI literature by integrating proactive personality as an antecedent of TPB and EI.

Abstract

Tourism is a growing industry in Indonesia. In early 2019, the government established super priority destinations that are expected to enhance the number of tourist visits to Indonesia. However, the increase of a tourist destination to a super priority destination has some challenges in some areas, as some tourists simply fail their trip because of the fairly high entrance costs on the super priority tourist destination, this of course makes the number of tourists visiting decrease. In addition, the pandemic of covid in early 2020 also caused many tourists to cancel their visit to Indonesia. Therefore, the study aims to enhance the number of tourist visits in Indonesia through reviews from travel vloggers on YouTube. This research wants to see what factors can drive the desire of tourists to visit through the approach of parasocial interaction that is the relationship between subscriber and travel vlogger. The study tested 4 hypotheses with the analysis of the Structural Equation Model (SEM). The results of this study indicate that attitudes of homophily and physical attractiveness have a positive effect on parasocial interaction, which will then affect intention to visit. Social attractiveness in this study has not been shown to have an effect on parasocial interaction. The managerial implications of this research related to tourism will be explored in depth.Bahasa Indonesia Abstrak: Pariwisata merupakan industri yang sedang berkembang di Indonesia. Pada awal 2019 pemerintah menetapkan destinasi superpriortas yang diharapkan dapat meningkatkan jumlah kunjungan wisatawan di Indonesia. Namun demikian, peningkatan sebuah destinasi wisata menjadi destinasi superprioritas memiliki beberapa tantangan di beberapa daerah, seperti beberapa wisatawan justru menggagalkan perjalananya karena biaya masuk yang cukup tinggi pada destinasi wisata superprioritas tersebut, hal ini tentu saja membuat jumlah wisatawan yang berkunjung menurun. Selain itu, adanya pandemic covid diawal tahun 2020 juga membuat banyak wisatawan membatalkan kunjungannya ke Indonesia. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan jumlah kunjungan wisata di Indonesia melalui ulasan dari travel vlogger di Youtube.  Penelitian ini ingin melihat faktor apa saja yang dapat mendorong keinginan wisatawan untuk berkunjung melalui pendekatan parasocial interaction yaitu hubungan yang terjalin antara subscriber dan travel vlogger. Penelitian ini menguji 4 hipotesis dengan analisis Structural Equation Model (SEM). Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa attitude homophily dan physical attractiveness memiliki pengaruh positif terhadap parasocial interaction, yang kemudian akan mempengaruhi intention to visit. Sedangkan social attractiveness pada penelitian ini tidak terbukti berpengaruh terhadap parasocial interaction. Implikasi manajerial penelitian ini terkait pariwisata akan dijelaksan secara mendalam.

Abstract

Kebutuhan masyarakat akan layanan kesehatan sangat tergantung pada keberadaan Puskesmas dikarenakan lokasinya yang mudah dijangkau, biaya yang murah atau bahkan gratis dengan pelayanan yang memadai meskipun terkadang Puskesmas juga memiliki keterbatasan dalam jumlah sumber daya yang dimiliki. Kegiatan PkM yang dilakukan oleh tim dosen UMN ini adalah merupakan solusi dalam merancang, mengimplementasikan sekaligus melakukan pendampingan bagi masyarakat Keranggan maupun bagi pihak internal Puskesmas Keranggan berupa penjadwalan pasien secara online. Sistem aplikasi ini dapat diunduh secara gratis melalui aplikasi Android sistem integrasi layanan kesehatan SIPURA. Aplikasi penjadwalan pasien online ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kualitas pelayanan kesehatan yang diberikan oleh Puskesmas Keranggan, dimana pasien harus melakukan reservasi secara online dan mengurangi waktu tunggu selaras dengan kebijakan Social Distancing di saat pandemic Covid 19 ini.

Abstract

Technology encourages e-learning to improve student learning and performance. The Covid-19 pandemic accelerated e-learning in Indonesian higher education. The learning method has transitioned from complete online learning to blended e-learning in new normal era. This research was conducted to determine the factors that influence students' intention to continue using blended e-learning using the IS Success Model. This research was conducted using a quantitative approach. Sampling was carried out by convenience sampling of 232 active students using blended e-learning in Indonesia. Data analysis was carried out with PLS-SEM. The hypothesis test shows that information, system, and support service quality affect blended e-learning student satisfaction. This research demonstrates that user happiness affects the intention to continue using blended e-learning

Abstract

Consumption of household products still produces a lot of packaging waste in the form of sachets or plastic. This is a serious environmental problem because plastic takes hundreds of years to decompose. To reduce the problem of plastic waste, we carry out a Community Service program to increase public awareness through collaboration with Koinpack. Koinpack is a startup company that offers solutions to reduce waste from packaging of household products. Koinpack’s product packaging can be reused. Koinpack provides opportunities for the community to become partners. The purpose of this community service program is to provide business capital (in form of products) to the community to become Koinpack partners and educate consumers about eco-friendly household products and eventually raise awareness to reduce plastic waste. The program is implemented in collaboration with two partners, a housewife who has a home-based business and a BumDes in Tangerang. In addition, socialization was also carried out to the surrounding community regarding this eco-friendly household product solution. The results of this program are providing economic benefits for partners and also increasing public awareness in adopting new innovations in the form of eco-friendly household products. Academically, this program enriches the literature on sustainable consumption.Abstract in bahasaKonsumsi produk kebutuhan rumah tangga masih banyak menghasilkan sampah kemasan dalam bentuk sachet atau plastik. Hal ini menjadi masalah lingkungan yang serius karena plastik membutuhkan waktu ratusan tahun untuk terurai. Untuk mengurangi masalah sampah plastik, kami melakukan program Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) untuk meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat melalui kerjasama dengan Koinpack. Koinpack adalah salah satu perusahaan rintisan yang menawarkan solusi untuk mengurangi sampah dari kemasan produk kebutuhan rumah tangga, dimana kemasan produk Koinpack dapat digunakan ulang (reuse). Koinpack juga membuka peluang bagi komunitas untuk menjadi mitra. Tujuan program PKM ini adalah menyediakan modal usaha (dalam bentuk produk) kepada komunitas untuk menjadi mitra Koinpack dan mengedukasi masyarakat mengenai solusi pembelian produk kebutuhan rumah tangga yang lebih ramah lingkungan serta membantu menumbuhkan kesadaran untuk mengurangi sampah plastik. Pelaksanaan program dilakukan dengan bekerja sama dengan dua mitra yaitu seorang ibu rumah tangga yang  memiliki usaha rumahan dan sebuah BumDes di Tangerang. Selain itu dilakukan pula sosialisasi kepada masyarakat sekitar mengenai solusi produk rumah tangga ramah lingkungan ini.  Hasil dari pelaksanaan program ini yaitu memberikan keuntungan secara ekonomi bagi mitra dan juga meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat dalam mengadopsi inovasi baru berupa produk rumah tangga ramah lingkungan.  Secara akademis, program ini memperkaya literatur mengenai sustainable consumption.

Abstract

Indonesia currently has a high rate of educated unemployment. Because most college graduates are still oriented toward being job seekers rather than job creators, there is a high rate of educated unemployment. As a result, the purpose of this study was to identify factors that influence student entrepreneurial intentions in terms of the Theory of Planned Behavior framework (attitude toward entrepreneurship and subjective norms), which is supplemented with personality variables (self-efficacy and locus of control) and environmental variables in the form of environment support. The study was conducted quantitatively with judgmental sampling of 108 students who are still enrolled in school, have participated in education or entrepreneurship programs, and do not own a business. Multiple regression was used to analyze the study's findings.
