Abstract

In the 2013 curriculum, science learning was implemented based on integration to improve student competency. However, the real conditions in schools show that the integration of learning materials in the worksheet and literacy integration that were applied was in the low category. The solution to overcome this problem is to use a integrated science worksheet containing new literacy theme of respiratory health and excretion. The purpose of this research was to investigate the effect of integrated science worksheet containing new literacy theme of respiratory health and excretion on the students competence in SMPN 25 Padang. This type of research used quasi experimental design with randomized control group posttest only design. The instrument used in this research consisted of observation sheet for attitude competency, written test for knowledge competency, and performance assessment for skill competency. Based on the analysis that has been done, it can be stated that the use of integrated science worksheet containing literacy new has a significant influence on student competence. These results indicate that the use of integrated science worksheet containing new literacy theme of respiratory health and excretion is effectively applied in schools.

Abstract

Science learning in the 2013 curriculum is carried out in an integrated manner. The worksheets used have not been integrated and the students' science learning outcomes low. There aremany studies related to the effect of integrated science worksheets on student learning outcomes. Notmany studies have looked at research trends overall. Based on these problems, a literature analysis was carried out regarding the effect of Integrated Science Worksheets in improving junior high school student learning outcomes. The purpose of this study was to see the effectiveness of the Integrated Science Worksheet for junior high school students' learning outcomes. Method The research is descriptive followed by meta-analysis. The study population is thearticles premisesn problem of the influence of integrated science worksheets on learning outcomes of junior high school students published in the journal ISSN with a sample of 13articles. The results of research worksheets effectively improve learning outcomes student. according to the analysis of research results in the literature and supported by the average effect size. Theinfluence of Integrated Science Worksheets in class VII is equal to (1.026), the method or approach used is the scientific approach (1.391) and student learning outcomes in the knowledge aspect (0.917).

Abstract

Science is a branch of science whose focus is on nature and the processes in it. Science deals with how to understand nature systematically. Science learning at the junior high school level in the 2013 curriculum is carried out in an integrated manner. The principle of cohesiveness is the study of living thing s and their relationship to physics and chemistry. In science learning, sometimes there are phenomena that are difficult to observe, hear, touch and feel directly, so that students sometimes experience difficulties because science is a science that requires an understanding of the material to be given. One way to solve this problem is by presenting learning media that makes learning clear, interesting, and easy to understand so that it can improve student learning competencies. The method used in this research is descriptive followed by meta-analysis. The research population was articles with the problem of the influence of integrated science learning media on junior high school students' competencies published in ISSN journals both nationally and internationally. The research sample was 15 articles with similar problems. The articles analyzed revealed that overall the research conducted had an effect and was effective on the Cognitive Competencies of junior high school students. This can be seen from the analysis of research results in the literature and supported by the average effect size. The use of Science Learning Media has an effect on class VII with an effect size (1.335) in the very high category, and student learning outcomes in the cognitive competency aspect (0.69) in the moderate category.

Abstract

Natural Science (IPA) is one of the subjects at the junior high school level, generally taught as an integrated science that studies living things physically and chemically. The main problem is that the competence of students in learning has not been achieved. This could be further improved through applying from discovery models. The goal of this study was to analyze and describe the impact of practicing discovery learning education on student academic competence based on grade at junior high schools, based on learning outcomes, and based on the subject matter. This study including a qualitative descriptive study put on a meta-analysis method. Discovery learning model is effectively used to improve the competence of students based on the class level in junior high school. It can be seen from the effect size value is the effect of discovery learning model on students science competence is 1.33 in a very high category, which means that the discovery learning model has a great effect on increasing competence of students and the use of discovery learning models for subject matter have a great influence, especially on the subject of hydrostatic pressure and Archimedes law.
