Abstract

The Amohalo rice field area is one of the rice fields in the Baruga Village, Baruga District, Kendari City, Southeast Sulawesi Province. The people of the Amohalo rice field area RT 09 RW 08, Baruga Village, generally make a living as rice farmers. In addition to making a living as a farmer, the Amohalo community in Baruga Village also has livestock such as chickens and cows. The local community does not utilize waste in the form of costs from a relatively abundant amount. Applying appropriate technology in an integrated manner to compost can provide benefits as organic fertilizer for plants. Community Service Program Integrated Lecturers Thematic KKN is conducted for one month, August-September 2021. This program is carried out in several stages of implementation, namely: (1) the Preparation stage for recruitment, coordination with related parties and correspondence, assistance needs, and preparation of instruments, (2) The stage of socialization of the determination and place of socialization, as well as a debriefing of students participating in the Thematic KKN, (3) The implementation phase includes counseling and training, technical guidance, and reporting. The results achieved in this Thematic Community Service Program are an increase in public knowledge and understanding of agricultural and livestock waste by processing it into compost to increase farmer productivity and reduce the impact of livestock by-products.

Abstract

The availability of crucible furnaces is still limited, so the price in the market is relatively expensive, even though this tool is very important, especially in educational institutions as media for the practice of metal casting. The purpose of this study is to design, build and test the work of a crucible furnace that utilizes used cylinders by using LPG gas heat sources. The design of the furnace uses the autodesk inventor application while the manufacture uses machine tools. Technical data from this crucible furnace is that the body is made from used gas cylinders with an outer diameter of 280 mm, an inner diameter of 140 mm and a height of 490 mm. In the combustion chamber installed a 25.4 mm diameter gas pipeline with a length of 370.5 mm and an air channel diameter of 50.8 mm with a length of 367 mm. Kowi is made of steel with a 110 mm dimension and a height of 280 mm. The results of trials with aluminum smelting show that the crucible furnace is capable of melting 5 kg aluminum for 60 minutes with fuel consumption of 3 kg gas. The maximum temperature that can be reached 1367 oC for 15 minutes by a crucible furnace.Keywords: design, manufacture, furnace trials

Abstract

Kampas rem merupakan salah satu komponen yang sangat vital dalam sebuah kendaraan yang berfungsi memperlambat bahkan menghetikan kecepatan pada saat terjadi ancaman kecelakaan akibat laju kendaraan yang tidak terkontrol oleh pengendara. Kampas rem yang beredar di pasaran umumnya terbuat dari bahan asbestos yang memiliki kekurangan diantaranya tidak ramah lingkungan. Tujuan dari pelaksanaan bimbingan teknis pembuatan kampas cakram sepeda motor adalah untuk memberikan pengetahuan kepada siswa Jurusan Otomotif SMK 2 Kendari dan Mahasiswa D3 Teknik Mesin Program Pendidikan Vokasi, tentang bagaimana memanfaatkan bahan serat dan tempurung kelapa sebagai bahan alternatif kampas rem cakram. Pengabdian ini juga mendorong kreativitas serta minat berusaha siswa dan mahasiswa dalam memanfaatkan bahan alam tempurung kelapa sebagai bahan kampas rem pada kendaraan khususnya kampas rem sepeda motor yang secara berkala harus diganti dengan yang baru. Mitra kegiatan ini adalah bengkel Shaqueela Barakati Kelurahan Anduonohu. Melalui program pengabdian ini diharapkan terwujudnya wirausaha baru yang inovatif, kreatif dan berdaya saing dalam meningkatkan kompetensi secara mandiri. Kegiatan ini berlangsung sangat efektif dan efisien ditandai dengan antusiasme siswa dan mahasiswa dalam mempersiapakan bahan hingga melaksanakan pembuatan produk kampas rem

Abstract

Head loss is a phenomenon of flow losses in the piping system. Head loss is very detrimental in fluid flow, because it can reduce the efficiency of fluid flow. This study aims to determine how much the value of head losses (hT) is that occurs in the reducing T pipe connection with diameter variations on the pipe branch 0.0254m (1 inch), 0.019m (3/4 inch), 0.0127m (1/2 inch). This research was carried out experimentally by measuring the branching flow of the flowing fluid by recording the time and volume of water that had entered the measuring tank, then reading the preasure on the manometer. The results showed that the increase in flow rate (Q) was directly proportional to the head loss (hT). Flow greatly affects the size of the Reynolds number of the three connections, the lowest total head loss occurred in the 1-inch reducing T pipe connection with a value between 0.1715 m- 0.2814 m and the highest total head loss occurred in the reducing T inch pipe connection with a value between 0.4110 m- 0.5867 m.Keyword: Reynold Numbe, debit, head Loss
