Abstract

Cleanliness is an essential factor in supporting health programs in Indonesia, one of which is handwashing with soap (CTPS). The application of CTPS in everyday life in the community is able to prevent various diseases. Knowledge of CTPS among the elderly is still relatively low and is often neglected. Meanwhile, the highest number of deaths by age in Indonesia is at the age of 60 years (elderly) due to a drastic decline in the immune system in the group. Therefore, increasing knowledge of CTPS in the elderly and education in the health sector is necessary. The main objective of this community service program was to improve the attitudes, knowledge, and skills of the elderly in social institutions in maintaining health, especially on hygiene. Accordingly, this is expected to increase life expectancy for the elderly. The methods in this service program were through tutorials and mentoring practices. This community service activity was conducted for the elderly at the Tresna Werdha Teratai Social Home in Palembang. The results were reflected by the enthusiasm of the elderly participants who attended. The result showed the improved posttest score in the average knowledge of the elderly from the initial score of 54 to 71 points. Increasing the knowledge and skills of the elderly towards CTPS can be applied in everyday life, thereby reducing susceptibility to various diseases.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Hipertensi adalah suatu keadaan dimana tekanan darah sistolik 140 mmHg atau tekanan darah diastolik 90 mmHg. Hipertensi dapat dikendalikan dengan cara farmakologis dan nonfarmakologis. Farmakologi berkaitan dengan obat-obatan, tetapi metode non-farmakologis adalah dengan memanfaatkan komponen nutrisi makanan yang ditemukan dalam buah-buahan dan bahan herbal seperti buah mengkudu dan madu. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian smoothie mengkudu terhadap penurunan tekanan darah pada pasien hipertensi di Puskesmas Selasa Padang Kota Palembang tahun 2021. Metode: Desain penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen semu dengan desain pre-test dan post-test with control dan dilaksanakan antara bulan Desember 2020 sampai Maret 2021. Hasil: Analisis data menunjukkan bahwa uji t-dependen pada kelompok perlakuan dan kelompok pembanding menunjukkan p-value 0.000 (<0.05). Kemudian dilanjutkan dengan uji t-independen dimana p-value sistolik 0.000 dan diastolik 0.000 (<0.05). Pada kelompok perlakuan didapatkan nilai rata-rata penurunan sistolik yaitu 18,57 mmHg dengan penurunan diastolik 10,00 mmHg, sedangkan pada kelompok pembanding nilai rata-rata penurunan sistolik yaitu 8,77 mmHg dengan penurunan diastolik yaitu 4,14 mmHg. Kesimpulan: Hasil uji statistik menunjukkan bahwa ada perbedaan bermakna rata-rata tekanan darah pada kelompok perlakuan dan kelompok pembanding. Sehingga smoothies Morinda Apis dapat menjadi alternatif untuk membantu menurunkan tekanan darah pada penderita hipertensi di Puskesmas Padang Selasa Palembang. Background: Hypertension is condition when the systolic pressure value is ≥140 mmHg or the diastolic pressure value is ≥90 mmHg. Hypertension can be controlled by pharmacological and non-pharmacological methods. Non-pharmacology method is conducted to utilize the nutritional content of foodstuffs in fruit such as Morinda and Honey. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of giving Morinda Apis smoothies on reducing blood pressure in hypertension patients at the Puskesmas Padang Salasa Palembang. Methods: The design of this study is a quasi-experimental research design with pretest and posttest with control group. Results: Data analysis showed that the t-dependent test in the treatment group and the comparison group showed a p-value of 0.000 (<0.05). Then continued with independent t-test where p-value systolic 0.000 and diastolic 0.000 (<0.05). In the treatment group, the average systolic decrease was 18.57 mmHg with a diastolic decrease of 10.00 mmHg, while in the comparison group the average systolic decrease was 8.77 mmHg with a diastolic decrease of 4.14 mmHg. Conclusion: The results of statistical tests showed that there was a significant difference in the average blood pressure. So that Morinda Apis smoothies can be an alternative to help people with hypertension at the Puskesmas Padang Salasa Palembang.

Abstract

Physical fitness is the ability of the body to make adjustments to the physical burden given to members of the police in carrying out daily work without causing excessive fatigue and still be able to enjoy their free time. Components of physical fitness related to health and skills are cardiorespiratory, muscle endurance, muscle strength and body composition. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between macronutrient consumption, body mass index status, and smoking status with physical fitness at Palembang police district officers. Data of macro nutrients intake were collected using 24-hours recall. Physical fitness levels are measured using Cooper's way. The design of this study was Cross-sectional by taking a random sample of 56 male police officers. The analysis results using chi-square concluded that there is a relationship between energy intake, carbohydrate intake, with fitness level (p≤0.05). There is a relationship between body mass index and smoking status, and physical fitness (p≤0.05). There is no relationship between protein and fat intake with physical fitness status (p>0.05). The results of the multivariate analysis obtained the most dominant relationship with physical fitness levels is BMI status and smoking status. It is recommended that police members improve physical fitness status to take some exercises that are useful to enhance physical fitness levels, namely sit ups, push-ups, squat jumps to run or jogging regularly. Police officers control their ideal weight by eating a balanced diet and not smoking

Abstract

Background. One of the nutritional statuses of children is wasting. Wasting is a group of undernourished, directly caused by inadequate nutrition and infectious diseases. One kind of food product that can be a high-protein animal side dish as a nutritional value enhancer for children with waste is High Protein Nuggets. High Protein Nuggets are nuggets made from the main ingredient of catfish. Research Methods. This study used experimental research with a complete random design (RAL) non-factorial. In this study, the best formulation was found, namely the formula F3, which included 175g catfish meat, 25g carrots, 80g eggs, 40g wheat flour, 40g bread flour, 15g leeks, 20g coconut milk, and 2g pepper. Research Result. From the effects of analysis of comparable levels, content in the best of high protein nuggets formulation 100 grams contains energy 325,6 kcal, protein 12,75 grams, fat 22,12 grams, and carbohydrates 18,63 grams.  Conclusion. Based on organoleptic data, the chosen formula is F3 Nugget, high in protein, with F3 having the most significant average value of each parameter assessment (taste, color, aroma, and texture).

Abstract

Breakfast or breakfast provides an important meaning for everyone to start the activity throughout the day. This activity is carried out until nine in the morning. Breakfast should be able to meet 15% to 30% of the total daily nutritional needs. Breakfast is expected to be able to realize a healthy, active and intelligent life (Hardinsyah, 2013). School-age children require good and sufficient intake of nutrients for activities, especially during breakfast (Susyani et al., 2014). In addition to adequate and balanced nutritional content, menu choices must be practical and varied from various types of food ingredients (Ministry of Health, 2013). Breakfast is beneficial for good school attendance, nutrient intake, academic achievement, fitness and a healthy weight (Hardinsyah; Perdana, 2013). Meanwhile, the impact of not eating breakfast on children has been shown to have an effect on academic achievement at school (Muchtar et al., 2011). There are various reasons why children skip breakfast, namely, long distance to school, late getting up in the morning, not in taste, not used to or afraid of being late for school (Mardiana, et al, 2013; Irianto in Ristiana, 2009). The habit of not eating breakfast results in a decrease in blood sugar levels (hypoglycemia) so that the energy supply decreases, if this happens continuously it causes the body to tremble, get tired quickly and decrease motivation to learn (Wardoyo; Mahmudiono, 2013). According to Hardinsyah (2012) in Briawan, et al (2013), it is recorded that 20%-40% of Indonesian children do not eat breakfast every day. Hardinsyah and Aries (2012), stated that 44.6% of school-age children consume low-quality breakfast, which is below 15% of the daily nutritional adequacy. Lack of knowledge about the importance of eating breakfast in children is one of the factors that cause children to ignore breakfast (Notoatmodjo, 2012). Nutrition education needs to be given in order to achieve health behavior (Healthy Behavior). Based on the above background, it is necessary to provide counseling and examples of providing breakfast for school children.

Abstract

Background : Hypertension or high blood pressure is a condition which is characterized by an increase in systolic blood pressure ≥ 140 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure ≥ 90 mmHg at two measurements with an interval of five minutes in a state of sufficient rest or calm. One of the non-pharmacological therapies that can help lower blood pressure is by utilizing foods that contain high potassium and Apigenin namely tempe and celery. Purpose : To determine the effect of tempe juice and celery jelly on reducing blood pressure of hypertension sufferers at the Palembang Punti Kayu Health Center.Method : This study was a quasi-experimental study with a pre-test and post-test with control group design. The subjects of this study were 60 people with hypertension at the Punti Kayu Health Center who were willing and fulfilled the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data analysis uses t-dependent and t-independent tests. Results : The study showed that there was an average decrease in systolic and diastolic blood pressure in the treatment group of 9,517 mmHg and 10,282 mmHg (p-value = 0,000 and p-value = 0,000). Whereas in the comparison group the mean decrease in systolic and diastolic blood pressure was 6,94 mmHg and 14,060 mmHg (p-value = 0.000 and p-value = 0,000). T-independent statistical test results for systolic blood pressure in the treatment and comparison groups obtained p-value 0.037 (p <0.05) and diastolic blood pressure obtained p-value 0.046 (p <0.05). Conclusion : There is an effect of giving tempe juice and celery jelly on the blood pressure of hypertension sufferers in Palembang Punti Kayu Health Center.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Background The purchase decision is one of the indications that indicates whether or not a product is accepted by consumers. Location determination based on data on the highest number of cases of malnutrition status (BB/U) in Palembang City, namely in the working area of the Nagaswidak Health Center with 370 cases.Objective: To determine the relationship between the price, nutritional knowledge, income level and advertising of milk with the decision to buy formula milk. Method: The study design was in the form of quantitative crosssectional with a sample of 32 mothers who had toddlers aged between 1 to 3 years using Lemeshow calculations plus a 10% reserve selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data collection on formula milk purchasing decisions, prices, nutritional knowledge, income levels, and direct milk advertising is using questionnaires, observations and by taking anthropometric measurements. The data were analyzed univariately and bivariately using the Chi-Square test. Results: The results showed that there was a relationship between price (p<0.001) and income level (p = 0.03) with purchasing decisions and there was no relationship between nutritional knowledge (p = 0.357) and milk advertising (p = 0.169) with consumer decisions.Conclusion: It was concluded that the price of milk and the income of a person contain a positive relationship with the decision to purchase milk and the level of knowledge of the mother is quite an important factor towards the decision to purchase a food.

Abstract

Anemia merupakan keadaan dimana kadar hemoglobin dibawah normal, kadar hemoglobin normal pada wanita remaja yaitu 12-15 g/dl dan pria remaja kadar hemoglobin normal yaitu 13-17 g/dl. Salah satu penatalaksanaan non farmakologi untuk penderita anemia adalah dengan pemberian puding psidium guajava l dan phoenix dactylifera. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian puding psidium guajava l dan phoenix dactylifera terhadap peningkatan kadar hemoglobin. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi ekspreriment dengan rancangan pretest dan postest with control group. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Januari 2022. Sampel pada penelitian ini dipilih secara proposional startified random sampling dan simple random sampling dengan jumlah sampel kelompok intervensi dan pembanding masing-masing 30 responden. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada perbedaan kadar hemoglobin sebelum dan sesudah pemberian puding psidium guajava l dan phoenix dactylifera kenaikan rata-rata kadar hemoglobin responden sebesar 1,57 g/dl (p-value = 0,000). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh pemberian puding psidium guajava l dan phoenix dactylifera terhadap peningkatan kadar hemoglobin remaja putri di SMAN 14 Palembang.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Diabetes mellitus adalah penyakit degeneratif yang ditandai dengan kadar gula darah sewaktu ?200 mg/dl. Penderita diabetes mellitus dianjurkan mengonsumsi serat sesuai anjuran adalah 20-35 g/hari yang berasal dari berbagai sumber bahan makanan. Minuman Kakatul adalah serbuk instan tinggi serat berasal dari kakao dan bekatul sebagai minuman yang dapat membantu menurunkan kadar glukosa dalam darah. Tujuan. Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian minuman Kakatul terhadap kadar glukosa darah penderita DM tipe II di Puskesmas Merdeka Palembang. Metode: Jenis penelitian menggunakan rancangan quasi experiment dengan metode pre-test and post-test with two group. Indonesian translation. Polulasi penelitian ini adalah pasien diabetes melitus tipe II di Puskesmas dan jumlah sampelnya adalah 30 orang dengan kriteria kadar gulose darah 200 mg/dl. Hasil: Rata-rata kadar glukosa sebelum perlakuan pada kelompok perlakuan yaitu 316,60 mg/dl dan 324,43 mg/dl pada kelompok pembanding. Rata-rata glukosa darah setelah perlakuan pada kelompok perlakuan sebesar 280,76 mg/dl dan pada kelompok pembanding sebesar 318,10 mg/dl. Sedangkan hasil independent sampel t-test menunjukkan selisih nilai rata-rata kadar glukosa darah kelompok perlakuan 37,93 mg/dl dan kelompok pembanding 6,33 mg/dl (p-value = 0,000). Kesimpulan: Pemberian minuman kakatul berpengaruh terhadap glukosa darah penderita DM tipe II dengan perbedaan selisih rata-rata kadar glukosa darah kelompok perlakuan lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelompok pembanding dikarenakan memiliki kandungan serat yang tinggi.
