Abstract

Kemampuan literasi matematis siswa di Indonesia menurut studi PISA masih tergolong rendah, berdasarkan hasil PISA pada tahun 2018 siswa Indonesia menduduki peringkat 73 dari 79 negara. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui lebih dalam kemampuan literasi matematis siswa kelas VII MTsS Rambatan pada kelompok rendah, kelompok sedang dan kelompok tinggi dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe CPS. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian gabungan (mix method) dengan desain concurrent triangulation. Populasi dari penelitian ini terdiri dari 3 sekolah yang terdiri dari 87 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel yaitu simple random sampling. Instrumen penelitian yaitu tes dan wawancara. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes hasil belajar, studi hasil kerja siswa, dan wawancara. Disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan literasi matematis siswa menggunakan model pembelajaran CPS lebih baik dari pada kemampuan literasi matematis siswa yang menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional dengan thitung > ttabel yaitu   2,83 > 1,70. Kemampuan literasi matematis dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran CPS setelah tes dan hasil wawancara ditemukan hasil bahwa siswa kelompok rendah hanya mampu mencapai 2 level kemampuan literasi matematis. Pada siswa kelompok sedang sudah mampu mencapai 4  level kemampuan literasi matematis. Sedangkan untuk siswa kelompok tinggi sudah mampu mencapai 6 level kemampuan literasi matematis.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan modul berbasis inkuiri pada mata kuliah persamaan diferensial biasa yang valid dan praktis. Hal ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kesulitan mahasiswa dalam mempelajari materi persamaan diferensial biasa disebabkan karena buku teks yang digunakan belum mampu menarik perhatian mahasiswa untuk mempelajari sendiri materi sehingga menyebabkan mahasiswa kurang termotivasi untuk belajar. Oleh karena itu perlu dirancang sebuah modul yang dapat membantu mahasiswa dan memberikan kesempatan untuk menemukan sendiri konsep dan berbagai cara menemukan solusi dari berbagai bentuk persamaan diferensial. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan dengan rancangan penelitian yang terdiri atas 3 tahap yaitu tahap define (pendefenisian), tahap design (perancangan), tahap develop (pengembangan). Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah lembar validasi untuk mengukur validitas modul, dan angket respon untuk mengukur kepraktisan modul. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa modul berbasis inkuiri pada mata kuliah persamaan diferensial biasa 1) sangat valid dalam aspek kelayakan isi, penyajian, kebahasaan dan kegrafikan, 2) sangat praktis dalam aspek mudah digunakan, menarik dan efisien.

Abstract

This research is based on the low learning outcomes and critical thinking disposition of students at MTsN 7 Tanah Datar. The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in the acquisition of students' mathematics learning outcomes after using the scientific approach with the Socrates method with the acquisition of students' mathematics learning outcomes with conventional learning, to find out how students' mathematical critical thinking dispositions after using the scientific approach with the Socratic method. This type of research is quasi-experimental research. The instruments used were tests of students' mathematics learning outcomes, observation sheets, and questionnaires. Based on the results of data analysis, the acquisition of students 'mathematics learning outcomes after using the scientific approach with the Socrates method is better than the acquisition of students' mathematics learning outcomes using conventional learning. Meanwhile, students' mathematical critical thinking disposition in mathematics learning using a scientific approach with the Socrates method is classified as a successful category.

Abstract

Abstrac- This research is motivated by the low mathematical communication skills of students. Students have difficulty in expressing problems into mathematical notation and performing arithmetic operations and re-expressing mathematical descriptions. This is related to the students' numerical ability. Therefore, this study aims to describe students' mathematical communication skills in terms of high, medium and low numerical abilities. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative research. The subjects in this study were students of class X IPA-1 SMA N 1 Kec. Lareh Sago Halaban which consists of 6 students with 2 students each with high, medium and low numerical abilities. The instruments used in collecting data in this study include the researcher as the main instrument, and supporting instruments in the form of numerical ability tests, tests of students' mathematical communication skills and interview guidelines, with data collection techniques carried out by tests and interviews. The data analysis technique used is the Miles and Huberman concept, namely data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. Checking the validity of the data used is triangulation technique. The results showed that subjects with high numerical abilities were easier to interpret and communicate mathematical ideas and ideas. Subjects with moderate numerical ability tend to be less capable and have little difficulty in interpreting and communicating mathematical ideas. And subjects with low numerical ability tend to be unable to interpret and communicate mathematical ideas.

Abstract

[English]: This article aims to analyze the strategies and cognitive process of prospective mathematics teachers (PMTs) in constructing graphs of composition function. Forty-four PMTs participated in graph construction tasks (GCT) of composition function. Four of them were purposively selected as the subjects. Data were collected through subjects' works on GCT and interviews based on their works. Data analysis started with organizing subjects' construction of the graph and transcribing the results of the interview. We then explored and coded the subjects' constructed graphs, followed by describing the subjects' strategies and structure of the cognitive process of graph construction and establishing themes, representing and reporting the findings with tables, schemes and narratives, interpreting the findings, and validating the accuracy of the findings by triangulation of the data sources. We found (1) two strategies used by the subjects in constructing graph namely with-translation and without-translation; and (2) the translation process in constructing the graphs begins by unpacking the source representation, preliminary coordination, constructing the target representation and end with determining the equivalence between the source representation and the target representation. The findings indicate that there are transfer variations in conceptual content from micro-concepts of source representation to micro-concepts of target representation. The variations are caused by the differences in the types of mapping carried out at the initial coordination stage. Keywords: Cognitive process, Graph construction, Prospective mathematics teacher, Composition function [Bahasa]: Artikel ini bertujuan menganalisis strategi dan proses kognitif mahasiswa calon guru matematika dalam mengonstruksi grafik fungsi komposisi. Empat puluh empat calon guru menyelesaikan tugas konstruksi grafik (GCT) fungsi komposisi kemudian empat orang dipilih sebagai subjek. Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui hasil kerja subjek pada GCT dan wawancara berdasarkan hasil kerja. Analisis data dimulai dengan mengelompokkan hasil konstruksi grafik oleh subjek dan membuat transkrip wawancara. Peneliti kemudian mengeksplorasi dan membuat kode hasil konstruksi grafik, menjelaskan strategi dan struktur proses kognitif subjek dalam mengonstruksi grafik, membuat tema berdasarkan strategi dan proses kognitif. Selanjutnya, peneliti menggunakan tabel, skema dan narasi untuk menampilkan dan melaporkan temuan penelitian, menafsirkan temuan penelitian dan melakukan validasi hasil penelitian dengan triangulasi sumber data. Kami menemukan (1) dua strategi yang digunakan oleh subjek dalam membangun grafik yaitu dengan-translasi dan tanpa-translasi; dan (2) proses translasi dalam mengonstruksi grafik dimulai dengan membongkarrepresentasi sumber, koordinasi awal, membangun representasi target dan diakhiri dengan menentukan kesetaraan antara representasi sumber dan representasi target. Temuan menunjukkan bahwaada variasi transfer dalam konten konseptual dari mikro konsep representasi sumber ke mikro konsep representasi target. Variasi disebabkan oleh perbedaan dalam jenis pemetaan yang dilakukan pada tahap koordinasi awal. Kata kunci: Proses kognitif, Konstruksi grafik, Calon guru matematika, Fungsi komposisi

Abstract

Math anxiety often suffered by students in learning math. If it continues to appear, the students will not have a good ability on math concepts. Math concept actually is the basic ability in learning math. From a gender perspective, there is a difference in mathematics anxiety between male and female students. This research aims to seek out whether there is an influence of math anxiety on students’ comprehension of math concepts based on gender. The research method was the correlational research. The research subjects were the eighth grade students of MTsN 07 Tanah Datar. The research found there is a significant negative difference between math anxiety and the ability to comprehend math concepts based on gender at the eighth grade students of MTsN 07 Tanah Datar.

Abstract

This research is motivated by learning difficulties experienced by students and low learning outcomes in mathematics. The purpose of this research is to describe how the learning difficulties of students from each level of math anxiety. This research is qualitative descriptive research. The research subjects were students of class XI MIPA 2 at SMAN 1 X Koto Singkarak. There are two instruments in this study, the main instrument is the researcher himself and there are three supporting instruments, namely the math anxiety questionnaire, a test of learning difficulties, and an interview guide for learning difficulties. The data analysis technique used is data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results of the study show that students who have high math anxiety tend to have difficulty using concepts, principles, and procedures. Students who have moderate math anxiety tend to have difficulty learning to use principles and procedurals and some have difficulty learning concepts and procedurals. Students who have low math anxiety tend not to experience indicators of learning difficulties, on average students are able to complete test questions, it's just that subject 5 has difficulty with procedural indicators.
