Abstract

Jesus Christ is a role model for leaders, with His leadership still relevant until now. Jesus brought transformation to His community, and this transformative leadership model is needed to renew church ministry and evangelism. This article aims to find out the level of implementation of Jesus' transformative leadership among church leaders and activists of the Protestant Christian Church in Bali (GKPB) at Denpasar. This “traditional” church needs transformation to improve its quality and range of services outside Bali Island. The research used a quantitative method by measuring the Four Dimensions (D) in the concept of transformative leadership of Jesus according to the Gospel of Matthew. Results show that first, the implementation of Jesus' transformative leadership among GKPB Denpasar leaders and activists was found to be in "moderate" level due to the leadership model that was still committed to the system of institutional centralization and local autonomy based on tradition, which became an obstacle to develop mission work outside Bali. Second, the implementation of Jesus' transformative leadership among GKPB Denpasar leaders and activists was more dominantly influenced by the understanding of the Kingdom of Heaven (D2), meaning that leaders of GKPB Bali had practiced the Jesus transformative leadership model. However, the adequate salary and facilities provided by the synod created anthropocentric comfort, which diluted the spirit of the mission. Third, the background of "long-serving" (L5) dominantly influenced GKPB Denpasar leaders and activists to adjust Jesus’s transformative leadership model, but this was not yet able to fully optimize the practice. Therefore, GPKB Denpasar leaders and activists need to shift from the traditional paradigm to the transformative one to carry out personal and institutional transformations to improve their quality, range of services and answer future challenges.

Abstract

Genesis 3:1-7 is the most important of the four chapters in the chapter. The problem that occurred was when the woman in the garden came face to face with a snake who said to her, “you will never die” (Gen 3:4). These words resulted in a dialogue that made the woman not only see and think that the fruit gave understanding, but she also took, ate and gave it to her husband and her husband ate it (Gen 3:6). This action has caused their eyes to be opened so that they know that they are naked (Gen. 3:7a), and they make their loincloths, because naked is a picture of their sinful condition. Meanwhile the LORD God had announced His Law “…in the day that you eat of it, you shall surely die” Genesis 2:17.

Abstract

A growing church is a church that prioritizes the ministry of children, because children are the next generation of the church. However, there are indications that there are still churches that do not view children's services as important and make them a priority for programs, funding, facilities and infrastructure. Service priority is more for adult services, compared to child services. This indicates that the church does not understand Holistic Ministry based on the Synoptic Gospels. Children's ministry is a very important service and requires adequate human resources support, both in terms of quantity and quality. In fact, there are indications that the Church still suffers from a lack of quality human resources, both in terms of calling and quality in carrying out child services, weak basic vocations, PPA human resources do not understand the development of the current situation so that the approach to fostering children is not appropriate. From the various problems that the researcher described above, the researcher believes that apart from these problems, the background factors of PPA children aged 14-19 years have a role in the implementation of Child Holistic Services based on the Synoptic Gospels. These backgrounds include: educational age background, economy, ethnicity, and length of time participating in PPA. For this reason, the researcher wrote a dissertation entitled: "Explanatory and Confirmatory Holistic Services based on the Synoptic Gospels among PPA Children aged 14-19 years in the Solo Cluster" to obtain empirical data from these problems and produce implications and suggestions for the development of PPA in the Solo Cluster.

Abstract

Many people are facing problems with money, including Christian Leaders. Problems appear when a pastor serves others in order to gain prosperity. This attitude caused his teachings by emphasizing a successful life. Wealthy tend to be a standard of success. Surely the prosperity Gospel is false because Jesus Christ taught His believers to gain spiritual wealth in Heaven by giving priority to the kingdom of God (Matthew 6:19-34). This lack of attitude occurred among the pastors of the Synod of the Bible’s Truthful Voice Church (abbreviated as GSKI). Therefore, this article aims to seek the correlation between the GSKI pastors' perception of the concept of gaining treasure in Heaven consider to the Kingdom of God. Using the Quantitative Method, Correlational type, the Hypothesis is tested with SPSS 20 application. The results showed that the attitude of seeking treasure in heaven is a pattern of life that is formed by the pastor motive who gives priority to serving God, the kingdom of God, and His righteousness simultaneously. Hence, this article contributes to the research on how to practice the Kingdom values.
