Abstract

Loa Village is one of the villages located in Paseh District, Majalaya, Bandung Regency. Loa Village has potential to be developed, in the field of animal husbandry. Many of the resident raising the chicken and duck in groups, but still use the traditional method, which is naturally hatching eggs by the hen so that it is difficult to get Kampong chicken seeds. With the village profile as above, we are challenged to provide the knowledge and techniques of raising Kampong chickens to Loa Village public, especially to farmer group members, through the virtual KKN-PPMD Padjadjaran University. The purpose of this activity is to increase the knowledge and skills of breeders in raising chickens, hatching eggs, composing the rations, processing chicken products and increasing the production of day old chicks. Apparently, the enthusiasm of the participants to gain knowledge and skills in raising Kampong chicken was quite high. Knowledge of the participants regarding the management of chickens, the preparation of rations are still lacking, but the enthusiasm of farmers to learn all the knowledge about raising Kampong chickens is very good, so that this activity can increase knowledge about how to hatch eggs and skills to operate the incubator and have a great passion for the business of Kampong chickens. Abstrak Desa Loa merupakan salah satu desa yang berada di Kecamatan Paseh, Majalaya Kabupaten Bandung. Desa Loa memiliki potensi yang harus dikembangkan, salah satunya yaitu potensi di bidang peternakan. Banyak dari penduduknya yang merupakan kelompok peternak ayam dan entok, tetapi masih menggunakan cara trasional yaitu menetaskan telur secara alami oleh induk sehingga sulit mendapatkan bibit ayam kampung. Melihat profil desa seperti di atas, maka kami tertantang untuk memberikan pengetahuan tehnik beternak ayam kampung kepada para anggota kelompok tani melalui Kegiatan KKN-PPMD virtual universitas Padjadjaran kepada masyarakat Desa Loa khususnya kepada kelompok peternak. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peternak dalam budidaya beternak ayam, menetaskan telur, menyusun ransum, dan pengolahan hasil ternak ayam serta meningkatkan produksi anak ayam untuk bibit. Dari kegiatan ini antusiasme peserta untuk memperoleh pengetahuan dan keterampilan usaha budidaya beternak aym lokal cukup tinggi. Wawasan peserta mengenai tatalaksana pemeliharaan ayam, serta penyusunan ransum masih sangat kurang, tetapi animo peternak sangat baik untuk belajar semua pengetahuan tentang budidaya beternak ayam lokal, sehingga kegiatan ini dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan mengenai cara-cara menetaskan telur dan keterampilan mengoperasikan cara menetaskan telur dengan mesin tetas dan semangat untuk usaha beternak ayam kampung.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine consumtion, weight gain, and conversion of super-native chicken rations feed with fermented sago pulp. Sago pulp is a potential local resource for alternative poultry feed as well as an energy source, this can be seen from the metabolic content of sago pulp reaching 2340 kcal / kg, crude protein 3.40%, and crude fiber 11.61%. The purpose of this study was to determine consumption, weight gain, and conversion of super native chicken rations fed with fermented sago pulp. The research method is an experiment using a completely randomized design. The treatment ration used was T0 = (0% ASF), T1 = (10% ASF), T2 = (20% ASF) T3 = (30% ASF), Each treatment was repeated five times. Variables observed were ration consumption, weight gain, and ration conversion. The results of the study there were consumption, weight gain T3 (30% ASF), T2 (20% ASF), and T1 (10% ASF) significantly higher than treatment T0 (0% ASF). The lowest avarage ration conversion results are found in treatment T1 which is 2,40. The conclusion that fermented sago pulp (ASF) can be used in super native chicken rations to the level of 30%.

Abstract

Penelitian mengenai Faktor-faktor yang Berpengaruh Terhadap Pemberdayaan Masyarakat Tani Ternak dalam Masa Reformasi ini dilakukan di Desa Cidatar Kecamatan Cisurupan Kabupaten Garut. Maksud dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui respon petani-peternak sapi perah terhadap setiap program pembangunan yang diintrogasikan ke pedesaan dalam masa reformasi, peran aparat (pelaksana program), serta faktor-faktor yang berpengaruh (pendorong dan penghambat) terhadap pemberdayaan masyarakat tani-ternak di pedesaan pada masa reformasi. Penelitian ini bersifat studi kasus dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah petani-peternak sapi perah anggota KUD Cisurupan sebanyak 25 orang, ditambah 5 orang informan. Pengumpulan data primer dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam dan diskusi kelompok. Model analisis data yang digunakan adalah model analisis interaktif. Data sekunder diambil dari Kantor Desa Cidatar, KUD Cisurupan dan Laporan PPL-KCD Peternakan. Dari hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa faktorfaktor yang berpengaruh terhadap pemberdayaan petani holtikultura dan peternak sapi perah, untuk faktor pendukungnya berupa suhu lingkungan yang cocok untuk usaha tersebut (daerah dingin: 130C-220C), adanya KUD yang menyalurkan sarana produksi pertanian-peternakan serta menerima hasil produksinya terutama susu dan pengalaman bertani-beternak yang cukup lama (3-20 tahun). Faktor penghambat berasal dari faktor fisik/struktur pemilikan lahan yang sempit, rata-rata kurang dari 0,5 ha, faktor ekonomi dan institusional berupa kebijakan harga yang tidak berfihak kepada mereka baik dari pemerintah maupun harga susu dari KUD yang lebih rendah, Rp. 100/liter dibanding KUD lain yang terdekat dengan KUD Cisurupan dengan kualitas yang sama, serta faktor sosial/kultural berupa sikap dan mentalitas petani-peternak yang lebih berorientasi pada masa kini serta pengurus KUD yang belum melakukan transparansi penuh dalam penentuan kebijakannya. Kata kunci : Pemberdayaan masyarakat tani ternak, faktor fisik, kultural dan institusional.

Abstract

Egg characteristics such as egg size and egg quality affect the hatchability rate of chicken eggs. The study objective was to determine egg characteristics of Pelung chickens that are endangered chickens of Indonesia. A total of 116 eggs from Garut, Bandung, Cianjur and Sukabumi Regencies, West Java Province, Indonesia was selected using a purposive technique. The observed parameters were egg weight, egg specific gravity, and thickness of an eggshell. Data were analyzed using the nonparametric Kruskal-Wallis test followed by the post hoc Mann-Whitney U test. The former was used to determine data differences among research areas, while the latter was applied to compare data differences between the two research areas. The rank Spearman analysis was used to determine the correlation between observed parameters. The study showed that there were significant differences (p > 0.05) among research areas for all observed parameters. Egg weight and thickness of eggshell in the Sukabumi Regency were higher than other regencies, while egg specific gravity in this regency was the highest (p > 0.05). There was a significant positive correlation (p > 0.05) between observed parameters. The findings indicated variation in the rearing management system and the genetic of Pelung chickens in research areas.

Abstract

Starfruit (Averrhoa bilimbi L.) can serve as an acidifier which can improve digestive enzymes work, suppress the growth of pathogenic microbes, protecting feed from microbial and fungal attack and to improve the palatability of feed. The main objective of this study was to determine the effect of starfruit in the ration on the performance (feed intake, body weight gain, feed conversion), the weight of carcass parts, fatty meats, and income over feed cost. The study used 80 chicks two weeks old village with a complete randomized block design experiment method. The treatment consisted of control diet (P0), and three levels of addition of starfruit (P1 = 0.5%; P2 = 1%; and P3 = 1.5%). Each treatment was repeated 5 times. Rations and water were given adlibitum. The trial period lasts for 30 days. Test performed to determine differences in Duncan.The results showed the addition of up to 5% starfruit into the ration does not affect the performance of chicken and chicken carcass weight parts. The highest value of income over feed cost was achieved by treatment with the addition of 0.5% ration starfruit juice.

Abstract

The research was held from 6th April 2023 to 6th Mei 2023 in Laboratory of Poultry Poduction, Padjadjaran University. The purpose of this research was to figure out the corellations between weight, surface area, and specific gravity on the shape index of quail eggs (Coturnix Coturnix Japonica). The method used in this research is corellational, and path analysis, with exogenous variables they are weight (X1), surface area (X2), specific gravity (X3) and one endogenous variable is shape index(Y). Sampling collects by purposive sampling with the criteria of eggshell integrity and uniform egg weight. The data obtained from the measurement results were then carried out the normality test, linearity test, Pearson correlation and path analysis. The results showed that the weight and surface area of the quail egg shape index has a correlation value of -0.194. Specific gravity with shape index quail eggs showed a correlation value of 0.013. Weight gives the greatest effect on the shape index of quail eggs (Coturnix Coturnix Japonica) by 7.51%, surface area gives the effect on the shape index of quail eggs (Coturnix Coturnix Japonica) by 0.62% and specific gravity gives a low effect on the shape index of quail eggs (Coturnix Coturnix Japonica) 0.03%.
