Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of organic fertilizer and EM-4 and the interaction between the two on the growth and yield of maize. The study used a factorial randomized block design. The experimental factors studied were the factor of giving organic fertilizer and the factor of giving EM-4. Observations included plant height, number of leaves, number of cobs per plant, weight of cobs per plant and weight of 100 seeds. The results showed that the manure treatment had a significant effect on plant height at the age of 6 WAP. EM4 treatment had a significant effect on the weight of the cobs per plant. There was a very significant interaction between the treatment of manure and EM4 on plant height at the age of 6 WAP and a significant interaction with the number of leaves at the age of 4 and 6 WAP.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Sorghum is a food crop commodity that has important potential as a source of food and renewable energy for food and energy independence during the COVID-19 pandemic. Community service activities regarding processing sorghum into food and energy are very important in dealing with food dependence on rice and fuel energy from crude oil. Through extension activities and training on sorghum processing, it is hoped that it can increase public knowledge about sorghum and its processing. The method used is counseling and training on sorghum processing to the community. Extension and training activities for processing sorghum into alternative food and renewable energy in order to increase community knowledge in Blang Nibong Village, Samudera District, North Aceh Regency have been carried out and can be well received by the community. The community is very enthusiastic about participating in the service activities. The community has knowledge of the processing of sorghum into sorghum flour as an ingredient for processed food products such as steamed brownies, krispi tofu spices, cakes, and nagasari. Partners also have knowledge about other benefits of sorghum, namely as a renewable energy source. Sorghum stalks are known to contain bioethanol as fuel. Programs like this are very important to carry out, especially for people living in rural areas that have the potential for developing sorghum areas so that the program will be sustainable.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Reuleut Barat is a village assisted by Malikussaleh University which is classified Inceptisol soil as sub-optimal land that has a low pH and comes from low of organic matter. The low quality of land in the West Reuleut area as marginal land that is less productive has an impact on the low income and welfare of its people. The limitations of productive land can be overcome by the application of biotechnology innovations by utilizing microorganisms through the application of organic fertilizers. Organic fertilizers can be obtained from a waste processing process known as the 3R (reuse, reduce and recycle). Making eco-fermentation is done by sorting household waste as an initial step in producing organic fertilizer by processing vegetable waste materials such as fruit peels such as papaya, pineapple, oranges which are added with molasses as an activator of microorganisms in the fermentation process so that the final product obtained is a liquid that is easy to use in its application to the ground. The application of Eco-fermentation fertilizers as organic materials containing microflora has a role in increasing the activity of marginal soil microorganisms into productive land through the weathering process of soil organic matter which can improve the physical, chemical, and biological properties of the soil so that ultimately it can increase soil fertility which can increase crop production of Reuleut Barat village. Abstract

Training in mushroom cultivation has been chosen to be conducted in this community empowerment program, as we believe that this training can support the community in Desa Mesjid, Syamtalira Aron District Aceh Utara, not only to increase their income, but also can enrich their knowledge in serving healthier diets for their family. The main objective of this program was to increase community income and to enrich the knowledge about healthy foods by teaching them how to cultivate oyster mushroom. The results showed that the community was enthusiastic and satisfied with knowledge they obtained from the training. Ninety percent of them said it was a great, informative and useful activity. There is an increase in their knowledge about mushroom cultivation from 23% to 78%, and also how to process the mushroom into crispy fried mushroom and mushroom nugget and then to market them from 23% to 73%.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is observe the effect of rice husk addition on various growing media on its growth and yield of white oyster mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus). This research used Complete Random Design (CRD) Factorial consisting of 2 factors with 3 replications. The first factor is the various media planting (M). Media of sawdust sengon (M1); Rice straw; M2 and dried banana leaf (M3). The second factor is the supply of rice husks consisting of. Without the provision of rice husk (P0); Provision of 10% rice husk (P1); Provision of rice husk 20% (P2). The best planting medium was found in the treatment of sawdust wood media sengon (M1). Besides, the addition of rice husk concentration has significant effect on all observation parameters. The best result was found in 20% rice husk. The interaction between treatment of planting media and rice husk giving significant effect on first harvest, the body diameter of fruit of first harvest and body diameter of fruit of second harvest

Abstract

Buah tomat merupakan jenis sayuran yang mengandung nutrisi yang tinggi. Ketika tanaman memasuki fase generatif akan terjadi beberapa perubahan fisik, biokimia dan fisiologis terutama terhadap buahnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh varietas dan media tanam terhadap karakter organ-organ generatif tanaman tomat yang ditanam secara hidroponik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa varietas Victory memberikan jumlah dompolan per tanaman, jumlah bunga per dompolan dan jumlah buah per dompolan terbanyak, namun varietas Tombatu F1 memiliki diameter buah, panjang buah dan berat buah persatuan terbaik. Media tanam yang digunakan tidak memberikan pengaruh terhadap karakter organ-organ generatif tanaman tomat yang diamati.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the technique of increasing the production of corn (Zea mays, l) varieties of lamuru,bisma, sukma raga with marginal critical land with the use of cow manureby North Aceh District. This research was carried out from June to November 2021, at the West Reuleut Gampong Garden, Muara Batu District, North Aceh Regency. This study used a 3 x 2 randomized block design and replicated 3 times. The first factor is varieties with 3 levels, name-ly: Bisma, Lamuru, and Sukmaraga varieties. The second factor is cow manure with 2 levels, namely 15 tons/ha and 20 tons/ha. Parameters observed were plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, time of flower emergence, cob length, cob weight, length without cob, weightwithout cob, and weight of 1000 seeds. The results showed that the treatment of severalvarieties showed a very significant effect on almost all of the observed variables. The use of bisma varieties showed the best growth. The use of cow manure 15 tons/ha also gives the bestgrowth on almost all variables.

Abstract

Desa Geulumpang Sulu Timu merupakan salah satu desa yang layak mendapatkan perhatian dan pembinaan untuk mendukung peningkatan kesejahteraan masyarakat desa tersebut. Letak desa yang strategis dan pembangunan sarana dan prasarana yang memadai belum menjamin masyarakatnya memiliki pendapatan keluarga yang cukup yang ditinjau dari masih tingginya angka masyarakat miskin di desa tersebut. Tujuan umum kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan perekonomian keluarga dan mendorong penurunan tingkat pengangguran di desa mitra. Tujuan khususnya antara lain yaitu melaksanakan penyuluhan, pelatihan dan pendampingan teknik budidaya anggur terutama kegiatan penyambungan tanaman anggur kepada masyarakat Geulumpang Sulu Timu Beberapa metode yang diterapkan dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini yaitu (1) kegiatan penyuluhan mengenai prospek budidaya tanaman anggur serta gizi yang dimiliki oleh hasil dari tanaman tersebut, (2) praktek kegiatan penyambungan bibit tanaman anggur sebagai sarana untuk mendapatkan bibit yang berkualitas, (3) pelaksanaan pendampingan dari kegiatan penyambungan yang telah dilakukan oleh masyarakat.

Abstract

Mangosteen is a tropical fruit that grows in Langgam District, Pelalawan District, Riau Province. However, mangosteen is still difficult to consume because it is slow to bear fruit. One of the steps to speed up fruiting mangosteen plants is propagation by grafting. This community service activity aims to train the community in developing new ways to make mangosteen plants bear fruit quickly. The method used in this community service activity includes the provision of material/theory, demonstrations and direct practice for grafting mangosteen plants. The training participants in the community service program activities exceeded the target with the planned number of 10 participants being attended by 15 participants and 5 students. The participants stated that this activity was very useful and a new experience. This community service activity went well and was even specifically asked to provide training to farmer groups in the Segati area for further service
