Abstract

Mangrove forests in Damas coastal has many switching function as plantations, causing a reduction in mangrove forest areas. The decline in mangrove forest area as a result of conversion to palm plantation committed by some members of the group LMDH "Agro Lestari". This is due to the assumption of palm trees have economic value that is higher than the mangrove vegetation. Meanwhile, mangrove forest conservation efforts have been carried out by the service related to the bakau’s management group or Pokmaswas (Community Monitoring Group) called "Anchor Marine". However, the efforts of mangrove reforestation were less successful, due to the conversion of mangrove land for palm plantations is still running.This study evaluates the implementation of awareness activities in the management of mangrove forests and mangrove-based business training activities. Based on the evaluation of activities after the extension, shows that people have a positive behavior and participation of the management of mangrove forests. Based on the evaluation results to the participants counseling and training mangrove processing, respondents are interested in developing mangrove syrop (80%), crackers mangrove (70%) and brownies (60%). Based on the respondent's ability to perform processing as much as 60% of respondents feel they have the ability in processing dodol, and 60% of respondents also feel have the ability in processing syrop mangrove. Based on the analysis of business profitability, the development of products brownies value profitability 47.26%, while the mangrove crackers 43.41% and 46.93% dodol mangrove. While syrop pepada has a profitability of 16.35%. Making api-api brownies, api-api crackers and api-api dodol can be done when the fruit season fires for 4 months.

Abstract

The mangrove forests in the Prigi Gulf located in Damas beach and Cengkrong beach. In one decade, the mangrove forest area has decreased quite dramatically. The decreasing is the result of land conversion activities as oil plantations. This study aimed to describe the management of mangrove forests, the identifying mangrove vegetation, and analyze the mangrove-based business opportunities that can be developed.Mangrove fruit actually can be used as syrup’s ingredient. But it’s at an early stage. In order to reduce the destruction of forests mangrove, several things as introduces mangrove functions as coastal life support and mangrove benefit directly as a material that can be developed for productive business. Based on the data, mangrove can be used for making some product such as batik, brownies and crackers. Feasibility analyses show that batik mangrove have an NPV value of Rp. 73,101,417, IRR 352.79%, Net B/C 19.93 and Pay Back Period 0.8. Brownies has a value of Rp 8,413,444 NPV, IRR 29.01%, Net B / C 1.78 and Pay Back Period 3.18. Crackers have a value of Rp 8,094,869 NPV, IRR 62.21%, Net B / C 3.54 and 1.59 Pay Back Period. Based on these values, the mangrove processing business is feasible and can be developed for productive business.Keywords: land use, mangrove-based business feasibility

Abstract

Kabupaten Halmahera  Utara memiliki luas wilayah sebesar 24.983,32 km2, 78% wilayahnya adalah  laut dengan luas 19.536,02 km2 dan panjang garis pantai 537,83 km dengan luasan kawasan budidaya di laut 17.565 Ha, namun belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal dimana baru dapat dimannfaatkan sekitar 5% dari luas kawasan yang ada. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret sampai Mei 2011 di wilayah Kabupaten Halmahera Utara pada 8 kecamatan. Data dikumpulkan melalui survei-observasi, wawancara dan kuesioner. Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis: Kemampuan, tingkat  perkembangan ekonomi masyarakat, khususnya sektor budidaya di laut  (marikultur) di wilayah Kabupaten Halmahera Utara; Dengan menggunakan pendekatan analisis Location Quotient (LQ) dan skalogram. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukan bahwa sektor budidaya di laut  (marikultur) di Kabupaten Halmahera Utara bukan merupakan sektor unggulan (non basis)  karena nilai LQ < 1 namun berpotensi untuk dikembangkan, dimana kecamatan Tobelo merupakan kecamatan yang tingkat perkembangan ekonomi  wilayahnya lebih baik dari kecamatan lain, sehingga merupakan pusat pelayanan utama atau primer. Abstract

Perkembangan Mangrove Pancer Cengkrong sebagai destinasi wisata mengalami perkembangan yang bagus. Semakin hari semakin banyak pengunjung tidak hanya dari masyarakat sekitar, namun juga pengunjung dari luar daerah bahkan dari luar kota dan luar propinsi. Tujuan konservasi hutan mangrove sebagai kegiatan edukasi kurang nampak jelas. Pengelola belum memberikan informasi yang memadai vegetasi yang ada di hutan mangrove maupun fauna yang hidup di lingkungan hutan mangrove. Guna menguatkan pengelolaan “Mangrove Pancer Cengkrong” sebagai wisata edukasi, Universitas Brawijaya melakukan kegiatan penyadaran manfaat ekosistem mangrove dengan sasaran istri pengelola hutan mangrove dan siswa SD setempat. Kegiatan penyadaran dilanjutkan dengan praktek pengolahan pangan berbahan dasar buah mangrove dan edukasi penanaman mangrove di kawasan konservasi “Mangrove Pancer Cengkrong”. Kegiatan selanjutnya adalah membantu menyediakan sarana pembelajaran dengan membangun ruang edukasi sebagai pusat informasi kepada pengunjung yang ingin mempelajari hutan mangrove lebih mendalam.

Abstract

The pressure on the utilization of marine resources has decreased the results of fishermen's fishing both in quality and quantity. The use of fishing equipment that is not environmentally friendly also contributes to the decline in fishermen's catches. Catfish cultivation is one of an off fishing activity in Glondonggede Village, to reduce the pressure on the utilization of marine resources. The purpose of research: (1) Describe the technical aspects and market opportunities for catfish farming. (2) Analyzing the value of profitability. (3) Arrange the development of catfish farming. Purposive sampling was used in this descriptive research. The catfish cultivation business can be carried out by fishermen on the yard house using pond with a size of 3x4 m2, 60cm high, with a stocking density of 200 tails / m2. The results of catfish cultivation are marketed around Tambakboyo Subdistrict. Catfish cultivation is profitable and feasible to develop. The catfish consumption and financial analysis, the catfish cultivation business can be developed as an off fishing activity. The strategy for developing catfish business includes optimal land use; development of intensive cultivation technology; strengthening fishermen groups for aquaculture and marketing networks as well as preventing environmental pollution.

Abstract

Prawn shrimp production business is inseparable from the constraints faced, namely the form of production risks that can hamper in running the business of prawn shrimp production. UD Dewi Sri Ayu is one of the businesses that produce prawn shrimp that has been engaged in the fishery industry since 2000. The purpose of this research is to identify sources of production risk, to analyze how the value of probability and the impact of risk caused by sources of risk, and how alternative strategies for handling production risk that can be done by UD Dewi Sri Ayu. The research method used descriptive method to identify sources of production risk in UD Dewi Sri Ayu, z-score method to calculate probability value and Value at Risk method to calculate risk impact. Methods of data collection in this study is to make observations, interviews, and documentation. The result of identification has been found four kinds of source of production risk in prawn shrimp production activity at UD Dewi Sri Ayu, that is source of risk caused by mushroom (dewded packaging) having probability value and biggest impact loss, mushroom (petis not ripe perfect) human resource error (hard petty texture), and lastly the human resource error (taste of acid petition) that has the least probability and impact loss value. Alternative strategies for handling production risks can be done in two ways: preventive strategies and mitigation strategies. The advice that can be given to UD Dewi Sri Ayu is in handling production risk better done gradually by looking at the level of risk from sources of risk that exist.

Abstract

Budidaya dapat menjadi penggerak utama pertumbuhan ekonomi di sektor perikanan di Indonesia saat kondisi perikanan laut mengalami overfishing. Hubungan antara nilai yang digunakan produksi perikanan (budidaya laut, budidaya tanggul, tambak, budidaya keramba, jaring apung budidaya dan budidaya padi) dan Domestik Bruto sektor perikanan Produk di Indonesia. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh secara parsial dan simultan dominan dari nilai produksi perikanan budidaya terhadap Perikanan Produk Domestik sektor perikanan di Indonesia. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Badan Pusat Statistik Jakarta, Kementerian Kelautan dan Perikanan, Direktorat Jenderal Perikanan Budidaya dan Bank Sentral Indonesia Jakarta. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan data sekunder dari tahun 2000-2010 dengan menggunakan analisis regresi linier. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa nilai produksi perikanan budidaya secara bersama-sama mempengaruhi PDB sektor perikanan di Indonesia, nilai produksi perikanan sebagian mempengaruhi Produk Domestik Bruto sektor perikanan di Indonesia. Budidaya Laut memiliki efek paling dominan terhadap Produk Domestik Bruto dari sektor perikanan di Indonesia dan diikuti budidaya kolam dan budidaya tanggul. Adapun kolam budidaya memiliki nilai negatif. kesimpulan dan rekomendasi dari penelitian ini bahwa budidaya laut dapat menjadi penggerak utama pertumbuhan ekonomi perikanan di Indonesia, diikuti oleh tambak dan tambak, budidaya padi harus diadakan untuk studi lebih lanjut karena memiliki dampak negatif terhadap Produk Domestik Bruto dari sektor perikanan di Indonesia.     Kata kunci: budidaya, produk domestik bruto sektor perikanan, budidaya, tanggul budidaya, tambak, budidaya padi

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada juragan payang Desa Gili Ketapang Kecamatan Sumberasih Kabupaten Probolinggo, Jawa Timur, pada bulan April sampai dengan bulan Juni 2012. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor produksi yang mempengaruhi hasil tangkapan perikanan payang di Gili Ketapang Kabupaten Probolinggo, mengetahui keuntungan usaha penangkapan dengan menggunakan alat tangkap payang di Gili Ketapang Kabupaten Probolinggo dan mengetahui kelayakan usaha penangkapan dengan menggunakan alat tangkap payang di Gili Ketapang Kabupaten Probolinggo. Gili Ketapang merupakan salah satu pulau yang berada di Kabupaten Probolinggo. Di mana pulau ini merupakan pulau yang memiliki sumberdaya laut yang cukup besar. Hal ini didasarkan dari jumlah produksi ikan di Gili Ketapang yang mencapai 40% dari total produksi yang dihasilkan di Kabupaten Probolinggo. Masyarakat daerah sekitar melakukan pemanfaatan sumberdaya laut dengan cara menggunakan alat tangkap, baik secara tradisional maupun menggunakan tehnologi. Salah satu alat tangkap yang penggunaannya masih tradisional dan layak dijalankan untuk usaha adalah alat tangkap payang. Alat tangkap ini layak dijalankan karena dianalisis finansialnya baik secara jangka pendek dan jangka panjang memiliki hasil yang layak. Untuk memaksimumkan hasil produksi tangkapan, para juragan atau nelayan payang perlu melakukan adanya kombinasi penggunaan faktor produksi. Faktor produski yang mempengaruhi hasil tangkapan payang antara lain; pengalaman nelayan, jumlah trip penangkapan, jumlah BBM dan panjang kantong payang. Selain itu, dalam melakukan penangkapan, nelayan payang di Gili Ketapang Kabupaten Probolinggo harus memperhatikan dan melakukan pelestarian sumberdaya laut agar tidak terjadi overfishing yang disebabkan oleh adanya penangkapan sumberdaya laut secara besar – besaran.     Kata kunci : Alat Tangkap Payang, Juragan Payang, Finansial dan Faktor Produksi

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk menganalisa dampak perubahan parameter ekonomi seperti kenaikan BBM, kenaikan harga kebutuhan pokok, dan strategi rumahtangga dalam meningkatkan pendapatan melalui penambahan curahan kerja non perikanan. Penelitian ini menggunakan model simulasi dengan metode Two Stage Least Squares (2SLS) untuk menganalisa perubahan ekonomi dan ketahanan pangan rumah tangga nelayan di Kabupaten Pasuruan dan Trenggalek, Provinsi Jawa Timur. Hasil simulasi menunjukkan bahwa kenaikan sebesar 30 % untuk biaya operasional melaut dan harga bahan pokok pangan harus diimbangi dengan meningkatnya curahan kerja suami dan istri masing-masing 15%. Kenaikan tersebut juga menyebabkan penurunan ketahanan pangan rumah tangga nelayan. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan rumahtanga nelayan skala kecil dapat mempertahankan ketahanan pangannya dengan memanfaatkan waktu kerja di rumah dan senggang istri nelayan sebagai waktu produktif berorientasi pasar. Tittle: Simulation of Socio-economic and Strategies of Small-scale Fisher’s Household for Rural Households Economic and Food Security in in East Java's Coasts.This research aims to analyze impact of economics changes parameter, such as increasing of fuel price, primary consumption and households strategies to increase their incomes by adding non-fishing work outflow. It uses a simulation model approach with Two Stage Least Squares (2SLS) method to analyze economics changes and food security of fishers households in Pasuruan and Trenggalek districts, East Java Province. Simulation results show that 30% increase in fishers operational cost and primary consumption price should be fulfilled by 15% increasing of work outflow from husband and wife in household. This increasing also leads to declining of fisherman households' food security. This research conclude that smallscale fishers household can keep their households food security by utilizing of theirs wife leisure timeproductivelyoriented to market.

Abstract

Suatu rumah tangga dapat mencapai kondisi tahan pangan sangat berkaitan erat dengan perilaku ekonomi rumah tangga, dalam hal ini pengambilan keputusan rumah tangga dalam kegiatan produksi dan konsumsi, serta alokasi waktu kerja dan pendapatan rumah tangga. Penelitian ini menggambarkan perilaku rumah tangga nelayan skala kecil dalam mencapai ketahanan pangan di Kabupaten Pasuruan dan Kabupaten Trenggalek. Data primer dan sekunder digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Data primer diperoleh melalui survei lapang; sedangkan data sekunder diperoleh melalui studi dan kompilasi data statistik terkait topik studi. Data dianalisis secara ekonometrik melalui pendekatan ekonomi rumah tangga. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam mencapai ketahanan pangan, rumahtangga nelayan melakukan kegiatan produksi melaut dan non perikanan sebagai sumber pendapatan dari sektor perikanan dan non perikanan. Kredit non formal lebih digunakan untuk konsumsi pangan. Pada pola konsumsi pangan seimbang, ikan menduduki peringkat kedua setelah konsumsi beras. Berdasarkan parameter Indeks Porsi Pengeluaran Pangan, Indeks AKE dan Indeks AKP, maka rumahtangga nelayan skala kecil di pedesaan pantai Jawa Timur dalam kondisi tahan pangan. Tittle: Economic Behavior and Food Security of Small-Scaled Fisher’s Household in Rural Region of East Coast of Java.A chieving food security for household will depend on the economic behavior of such the household in terms of decision making-process of the household in production and a consumption activities and work time allocation. This research illustrated behavior of small-scale fisher's household in achieving food security in Pasuruan and Trenggalek districs. Primary and secondary data were used in this study. Primary data were collected by using survey method; secondary data were collected through literature study and compilation of statistical data related to the study theme. Data were analyzed econometrically through household economic approach. Results show that in achieving food security, fisher's household do fishing and non fisheries activity. Non formal credit scheme was mostly used for food consumption. In the food consumption ballance, fish was the second level after rice. Based on Food Expending Portion Index parameter, AKE and AKP indexes, small-scale fisher's household in rural region of East Coast of Java were in the secure food condition.
