Abstract

This study aims to determine the forms of participation and benefits perceived by local communities from their participation in the management of Nature Tourism Pucak Manik Waterfall in Wanagiri Village, Sukasada District, Buleleng Regency. This study uses quantitative design, with the number of samples of 56 members of the community involved directly or indirectly in the management of tourist attractions. This samples selected by purposive sampling technique. The survey method was used to collect data with a Likert scale questionnaire of degree five. The results show that the participation rate of local community in Wanagiri village is quite high, while the largest participation form is social participation with average value 3,89, and the lowest participation is the participation of property with the average value 2,37. The most perceived benefit of local community participation in the socio-cultural community is the growing sense of pride to remain in the village (stated by 83.9% of respondents), from the economic perspective of participation is expanding employment and business fields, expressed by 87.5% of respondents, and 89.3% of respondents said the environmental benefits of their participation were the identification of tourism potentials in their area, and the government’s support in the development of Nature Tourism Pucak Manik Waterfall.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis persepsi pengunjung terhadap aktivitas sales promotion dalam penyelenggaraan Garuda Indonesia Travel Fair (GATF) yang dilaksanakan di JICC (Jakarta International Convention Centre), serta keputusan mereka untuk mengunjungi destinasi pariwisata yang ditawarkan sebagai dampak dari kegiatan promosi tersebut. Disebarkan kuesioner dengan skala Likert berderajat 5 yang telah diuji validitas dan reliabelitasnya terhadap pengunjung pameran selama tiga hari, dan terisi sebanyak 272 kuesioner yang layak dianalisis. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas sales promotion dalam penyelenggaraan GATF serta promosi destinasi pariwisata yang ditawarkan dinilai baik, serta mampu membentuk persepsi positif dari pengunjung untuk mendukung kegiatan wisata di Indonesia, yang bermakna pula bahwa kegiatan promosi yang dilakukan dalam penyelenggaraan GATF mampu mempengaruhi keputusan pengunjung pameran untuk mengunjungi destinasi pariwisata di Indonesia.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan peran stakeholder sebagai “pemain utama” serta kendala-kendala pelibatan mereka dalam pengembangan desa wisata di Bali. Lokasi penelitian dilakukan pada empat kabupaten di Bali, yaitu Kabupaten Bangli, Gianyar, Badung dan Tabanan. Data diperoleh melalui Focus Group Discussion (FGD), dimana narasumber dipilih secara purposive, selain data juga diperoleh melalui studi dokumentasi. Analisis kualitatif dipilih untuk mereduksi, memilah serta menginterpretaskan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemerintah sebagai regulator, fasilitator, dan eksekutorhendaknya: (1) mendorong pengembangan desa wisata sesuai potensinya, bukan atas alasan politis dan/atau karena sekadar untuk memperoleh dana bantuan, (2) mengkaji secara konprehensif desa wisata yang akan dikembangkan, (3) menyiapkan perencanaan yang matang dengan mengintegrasikan rencana pembangunan pada tingkat yang lebih tinggi dengan rencana kerja yang disusun masyarakat, (4) memberikan pelatihan untuk mengembangkan kapasitas masyarakat local dalam pengembangan desa wisata, dan (5) memonitor dan mengevaluasi kegiatan masyarakat dalam pengembangan desa wisata.Masyarakat hendaknya secara kritis mengembangkan diri dan lingkungannya, serta menerapkan nilai-nilai lokal serta mengedepankan keunikan budaya Bali sebagai kekuatan pengembangan desa wisata, sementara itu pengusaha diharapkan berperan dalam peningkatan kapasitas masyarakat dengan memberikan pelatihan kepada masyarakat lokal terkait kebutuhan desa wisata, peran akademisi diharapkan mampu memberikan sumbangan pemikiran dalam mengidentifikasi permasalahan desa wisata dan mencarikan solusinya, sementara pers dapat menonjolkan fungsi kontrol dan penyebarluasan informasi kepada publik. Kendala utama yang dihadapi dalam pengembangan desa wisata terkait dengan koordinasi antar stakeholders serta belum adanya agent of change yang mampu mengkoordinir peran stakeholders tersebut.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyse the perceptions of visitors to sales promotion activities in the implementation of Garuda Indonesia Travel Fair (GATF) conducted in JICC (Jakarta International Convention Centre), as well as their decision to visit tourism destinations as the impact of promotional activities. Distributed questionnaires with Likert scale of degree 5 that have been tested for validity and reliabelity the exhibition visitors for three days, and charged 272 eligible questionnaires were analyzed. Data were analyzed by quantitative descriptive. The results showed that the activity of sales promotion in the administration GATF and promotion of tourism destinations offered is considered good, and capable of forming a positive perception of visitors to support tourism activities in Indonesia, which means also that the promotional activities undertaken in the implementation of GATF able to influence the decision of visitors to the exhibition to visited tourism destination in Indonesia.

Abstract

Talented with the uniqueness of art and culture, beautiful nature landscape, and friendly people, Balinese tourism sector has experienced rapid development and constant increasing number of tourist visit. The central government policy on decentralization since 1999 regarding the autonomy of local government in the development process brings about some consequences on Bali as a tourist destination. The central government policy enable the local government to share income generated from physical resources i.e. natural resources. However, it does not include intangible resources such as art and culture which immensely contribute to tourism sector. Therefore, the policy on local government autonomy brings about some disadvantages to Bali.

Abstract

Poverty has become a global issue and is multidimensional in nature. Some efforts to reduce poverty have been taken and given priority by many countries. In the tourism sector, Pro-Poor Tourism is an approach in which tourism can contribute to reducing poverty. It is a type of tourism that employs holistic ap­proach, with the main goals to provide economic benefits, open job opportuni­ties, and promote decision making to the poor. The approach to reducing poverty through tourism is by direct involvement of the poor in business ownership, providing human resources, providing products and services to tourists.
