Abstract

This article aimed to develop an improved Ant Lion algorithm. The objective function was to minimize the mean tardiness on the flow shop scheduling problem with a focus on the permutation flow shop problem (PFSP). The Hybrid Ant Lion Optimization Algorithm (HALO) with local strategy was proposed, and from the total search of the agent, the NEH-EDD algorithm was applied. Moreover, the diversity of the nominee schedule was improved through the use of swap mutation, flip, and slide to determine the best solution in each iteration. Finally, the HALO was compared with some algorithms, while some numerical experiments were used to show the performances of the proposed algorithms. It is important to note that comparative analysis has been previously conducted using the nine variations of the PFSSP problem, and the HALO obtained was compared to other algorithms based on numerical experiments.

Abstract

Production scheduling is an important activity in manufacturing. Optimal scheduling affects the time of completion of the work. PT. Interpack is a company that produces packaging machines. The job schedule of the product spare part still uses the random priority rules. Use of random rules makes a lot of time delay. Delay causes operator and machine idle. Delay also causes the total time of completion of the work (makespan) and delay the greater.  So it needs to be rescheduled to work on the spare part of product. Job scheduling using the Artificial Immune System (AIS) algorithm. AIS was developed by Farmer et al. The AIS algorithm refers to the human immune system. The stages of the AIS algorithm begin with random initialization, antibody representation and gene classification, clone breeding, selection of donor antibodies, germ-line construction, gene fragment redesign, and ending with diversification of antibodies. AIS algorithm scheduling resulted in a more optimal new schedule. AIS algorithm scheduling generates a future of 6483.91 minutes. Company scheduling generates makespan of 7059.99 minutes. AIS Schedule finishes algorithm 4 days of the due date. AIS algorithm schedule increase machine utility by 1%.

Abstract

The classical model of dynamic programming in determining the economical lot size  of orders generally considers the cost of orders and inventory costs. However, firms are often confronted with the situation of determining the number of economic orders if the seller gives incremental discounts to the buyer and limits the warehouse capacity. In this paper, explains the model of determining lot order by considering discount and limitation of warehouse capacity with dynamic program. The dynamic program model is compared with the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) model considering the discount and the limitation of warehouse capacity. The comparison result shows that dynamic programming model can minimize total inventory cost compared to EOQ.

Abstract

Recently, carbon emissions have become a major environmental problem. In the industrial sector, carbon emissions account for half of the world's total carbon emissions. This article discusses the issue of scheduling Flow Shop Sequence Dependent Setup (FSSDS). It aims to minimize carbon emissions. The algorithm proposed is the Hybrid Sine Cosine Algorithm (HSCA) to solve FSSDS problems to reduce carbon emissions. We offered one of some search agents in the SCA using NEH.  The algorithm is used for some tests on different jobs and machines. Several experiments were carried out to test the parameters and effectiveness of the algorithm. The parameters used in the trial are population and iteration. As a result, several parameters were proposed to HSCA to minimize carbon emissions. In the effectiveness test, the HSCA showed better performance compared to the simulated annealing and cross-entropy algorithm.

Abstract

The inventory-production system concerns the effective management of the goods flows from raw materials to finished products. The Integrated Procurement-Production (IPP) system consists of many elements that must be managed effectively. The problem will be more complex if it involves deciding on the number of delivery frequencies at the retailer level. In this case, the Integrated Procurement-Production's objective function depends on the frequency of raw material shipments, the frequency of delivery of finished products, and the production cycle time. This study aims to develop an IPP system to maximize total profit. The decision variables used are the frequency of raw material delivery, the frequency of delivery of finished products, and the production cycle time. This study proposes the Dragonfly Algorithm (DA) as an algorithm for problem-solving. Dragonfly Algorithm is used to find the best inventory decision variables. This study conducted experiments with various iteration parameters and DA population. The results showed that the greater the iteration and the population used, the greater the profit. A sensitivity analysis of decision variables is also presented in this investigation.

Abstract

Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) has many applications in real systems, especially in distribution and transportation. The optimal determination of vehicle routes impacts increasing economic interests. This research aims to find the optimal solution in Vehicle Routing Problem Pick-up and Delivery with Time Windows (VRPPDTW).  Targets of this problem included reducing distance travel and penalties. Three penalties that were considered are a capacity penalty, opening time capacity, and closing time capacity. An improved genetic algorithm was developed and used to determine the vehicle route.  There were one main depot and 42 customers. This research raised the problem of a shipping and logistics company. Analysis of the results showed that the proposed route obtained from improved genetic algorithms (GA) was better than the existing route and previous algorithm. Besides, this research was carried out an analysis on the effect of the number of iterations on distance traveled, the number of penalties, and the fitness value. This algorithm could be applied in VRPPDTW and produces an optimal solution.

Abstract

Currently, the issue of the fuel crisis has become a global concern. The distribution sector is one of the sectors that consume the most significant fuel. Therefore, an effective procedure for fuel energy efficiency is needed to resolve the routing problem. In addition, the vehicle load must be considered in delivery and pickup at each node. This research proposes the novel Hybrid Yellow Saddle Goatfish Algorithm (HYSGA) algorithm to solve the Fuel Consumption Vehicle Routing Problem Simultaneous Pickup and Delivery (FCVRPSPD) problem. The objective function to be achieved was to minimize fuel costs. This study conducted experiments with HYSGA parameters such as the number of Goatfish, iterations, and the number of goatfish clusters to optimize the FCVRPSPD problem. In addition, a sensitivity analysis was presented to examine the effect of the FCVRPSPD variable on fuel costs. This study also compared the proposed algorithm with several state-of-the-art procedures. The results showed that the parameters of the number of Goatfish and the HYSGA iteration affected fuel costs. Furthermore, based on experiments, the proposed algorithm provided a competitive fuel cost compared to other algorithms.
