Abstract

Penggunaan bahasa Inggris oleh pedagang asongan di kawasan wisata Pantai Sanur menjadi objek menarik untuk diteliti. Pedagang asongan yang memiliki latar belakang budaya dan dialek yang sangat unik merupakan fenomena kebahasaan yang kompleks dari sisi semantic. Penelitian ini bertujuan untukmengungkap berbaga ragam bahasa Inggris yang digunakan oleh pedagang asongan dengan wisatawan di daerah wisat Pantai Sanur. Target khususnya adalah mengidentifikasi, menganalisa dan menjelaskan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pemilihan bentuk dan strategi bahasa yang digunakan oleh pedagang asongan di daerah wisata Pantai Sanur. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakanpendekatan penelitian kualitatif secara etnografis. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi, dokumentasi dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan beberapa ragam bahasa yang digunakan oleh pedagang asongan dalam melakukan interaksi dengan wisatawan asing menggunakan bahasa Inggris adalah bahasa Inggris dialek Bali, ragam bahasa yang digunakan adalah santaiyang biasa mereka gunakan sehari-hari dan hanya diterjemahkan ke dalam bahasa Inggris. Penutur banyak menggunakan bentuk kata yang dipendekkan, kosakatanya banyak dipenuhi unsur leksikal dialek dan unsur bahasa daerah. Adapun beberapa faktor yang mempengaruhi keragaman bahasa yang digunakan adalah faktor social dan situasional.

Abstract

The discrepancy of tourism development which focused only at the south, is now a major focus in tourism development strategies in Bali for equitable distribution of destinations. One touristic village now growing due to is Munduk Tourism Village in North Bali. This study, therefore, aims to obtain the perception of European tourists on the tourism development in Munduk through explorative analysis with 8E model. This research was conducted by using quantitative-qualitative research approach by distributing questionnaires and in-depth interviews to the respondents by accidental sampling. The results show that the tourists are dominated by female with the major countries are from Denmark. The classification of tourists are mostly millenial generation with the age range 17-25 years old, thus they are mostly students. The most enchanting attractions which become favorite preference is Panorama (22%), then followed by authentic Balinese Village (20%). Besides, it also shows that the most effective marketingstrategy is through the internet, as 36% tourists admits to get information from website or social media. Moreover, half of tourists admit for their first visit to Munduk. Another things need to concern is their length of stay which is 2.6 nights. To conclude, there are several challenges and obstacles facing tourism management in Munduk Village, namely: related to culture, local community involvement in cultural attractions, enrichment of cultural attractions to attract tourists and good waste management for sustainable environment.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to look at the category of Balinese culture terms in English media tourism promotion in Denpasar City, and the purpose of using the term in tourism promotion media published by the Tourism Department of Denpasar City. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method where the data studied are words and phrases about the term Balinese culture. Qualitative methods produce descriptive data both in the form of written and verbal expressions of the people and behaviors observed. The results of the data analysis are presented with informal methods where the results of the data analysis are presented using word threads, sentences, and technical terms to formulate and describe any research issues. From the results of research there are 3 types of categories of Balinese culture, namely the category of material culture, the category of social culture, and the category of tradition and concept. While the purpose of the Tourism Department of Denpasar City uses the term Balinese culture in the promotion media of English-language tourism in Denpasar is to preserve Bali culture and introduce Bali culture abroad.

Abstract

Pinge Village is the first tourist village in Tabanan Regency which was officially inaugurated by Tabanan Regent Decree No. 337 of 2004 that concerning to Design Pinge Traditional Village as a Tourism Village. This village has several potentials as sources of attractions for tourists. These potentials include beautiful natural scenery, cool air, residential traditional housing, friendly people, and characteristics of rural tourism in the form of "trails" along village roads. The existing potential has not been managed optimally due to several obstacles, such as: 1) the English language skills of local tour guides are still low, especially the mastery of English vocabulary and 2) the management of homestays is not optimal, because most of the tourist activities are served by travel agents. This problem was overcome through 16-hour English short course activities, 8-hour guided mentoring, and comparative studies. As a result, the implementation of the English short course received positive responses from the participants, the village head, the manager of the Pinge Tourism Village, and the head of the Pokdarwis Pinge Asri. Statistically, there was an increase in participants' English proficiency by 22.14%. Mentoring and comparative studies on homestay management also received positive responses, even the homestay managers want this activity to be carried out continuously.

Abstract

Penggunaan media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi yang tepat sangat dibutuhkan untuk menunjang proses pembelajaran daring. Salah satu medai yang dapat digunakan yakni aplikasi Quizizz yang bisa dipakai secara langsung dan bersamaan dengan Learning Management System. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini yakni untuk mengidentifikasi bagaimana implementasi Quizizz dalam evaluasi pembelajaran online pada English For Food And Beverage Service. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang dilakukan untuk memperoleh informasi mengenai keadaan saat ini. Subjek yang terlibat pada penelitian ini yakni sebanyak 60 mahasiswa dari program studi Manajemen Perhotelan. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian dilakukan dengan metode wawancara, kuesioner dan observasi dengan metode analisis data secara deskriptif. Hasil analisis penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi penggunaan Quizizz sangat membantu mahasiswa dalam mengingat kembali semua materi yang disampaikan secara online dan meningkatkan minat belajar Bahasa Inggris mahasiswa. Hal ini didukung oleh hasil analisis kuisioner yang menunjukkan bahwa 78,4% mahasiswa menyatakan setuju untuk penggunaan Quizizz menarik minat mereka untuk belajar bahasa Inggris. Hanya 21,65%  mahasiswa yang merass cukup setuju. Dan tidak ada mahasiswa yang menyatakan bahwa Quizizz ini tidak meningkatkan minat mereka untuk mengikuti perkuliahan. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa aplikasi Quizizz sangat efektif digunakan untuk membantu mahasiswa dalam proses pembelajaran daring serta dapat mempermudah proses evaluasi pembelajaran oleh dosen.

Abstract

The river has a substantial contribution in our life. But in reality the quality of rivers in Indonesia is in a heavily polluted condition. Various river structuring efforts have been carried out such as maintaining cleanliness, managing the smooth running of water, and educating people not to throw garbage into the river. This article aims to identify potential and determine the design in developing the Badung River basin to support the development of cultural tourism in Denpasar City. The technique of collecting data uses non-participant observation, document study, and in-depth interviews. This article concludes that Sungai Badung has a variety of tourism potential that can be developed as a new tourist attraction. The concept of development by designing eco-culinary tourism parks combines the concepts of ‘eco-tourism’ and ‘culinary tourism’ in an effort to create sustainable tourism without damaging the river ecosystem.

Abstract

In society’s perception, backpackers are generally travelers who choose to travel for long periods of time, at low costs using public transportation and relatively cheap accommodation. Usually, backpackers come from the lower middle class because they want to travel that is cost-effective but rich in experience. In addition, most of these backpackers are students / students with an age range between 25 - 35 years. Over time and an era that has changed the human mindset, a significant shift has begun to occur, especially for the tourist actor himself as a backpacker. Although the above characteristics are still a strong concept for a backpacker, there are a number of things that are starting to shift. Some of these things are 1) backpackers do not always come from the lower middle class, and 2) a shift in the age of the backpacker criteria (tourists over 35 years old choose to be backpackers). Therefore, it is interesting to study from this phenomenon is the shift in people's perceptions of a backpacker where now backpackers also come from the upper middle class and have an age above 35 years. The data is taken from 35 backpackers who are members of the “Backpacker International” community, which consists of Indonesian backpackers whose travel destinations are to other countries (mostly in Europe). This research is an ethnographic study with a qualitative descriptive approach.
