Abstract

BPR Mustaqim Bank needs to prepare its human resources (HR) to be success in the conversion process from conventional to sharia system. However, the major problem is that it lacks of qualified HR who is competent (have capabilities in the field of economy and sharia), and has Islamic characters. The objective of this study was then to elaborate the concept of human resources management with Islamic values to achieve qualification and strategy of human resource management during the conversion process of BPR Mustaqim Bank. This study carried out qualitative approach by using descriptive method. It involved classifying and describing qualifications of the HR, both qualifications determined by the bank and ideal qualifications in line with Islamic values required by the bank for the successful conversion process to sharia system. Based on the reality, the HR qualification in BPR Mustaqim Bank are not fully ideal yet, either in terms of the HR qualification or the HR management strategy. In the aspect of HR qualification, BPR Mustaqim Bank should optimize the knowledge of the HR on sharia banking, and improve their religiosity by conducting religious activities. Meanwhile, to improve HR management strategy, BPR Mustaqim Bank should perform recruitment, selection, training and development process, compensation, and employee performance appraisal and relationship in line with the conversion purposes, in which the application procedure is adjusted to Islamic values.

Abstract

Artikel ini fokus membahas tentang ekspresi anak muda di tengah pandemi. Selama pandemi, aktivitas sosial dimediasi melalui teknologi komunikasi modern seperti media sosial. Kondisi ini mendukung munculnya berbagai ekspresi anak muda di media sosial, salah satunya dalam bentuk menyebarkan pesan-pesan keagamaan di TikTok. Untuk mengetahui lebih jauh terkait fenomena ini, penulis menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif yang menekankan pada kerja etnografi virtual dan dianalisis dengan literatur-literatur yang relevan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Husain Basyaiban, salah satu anak muda Muslim, aktif menggunakan TikTok melalui akun @basyasman00 untuk menyebarkan pesan-pesan keagamaan di masa pandemi. Meskipun secara sosiologis, TikTok menimbulkan polemik di satu sisi, tetapi di sisi lain menjadi peluang untuk membangun popularitas. Selain itu, sikap ekspresi di media sosial sejalan dengan upaya pembentukan identitas diri dan munculnya wacana narsistik.

Abstract

Berangkat dari prinsip irreversible dalam komunikasi dan penggunaan media sosial di kalangan anak muda yang meningkat signifikan dalam beberapa tahun belakangan ini, diperlukan pemahaman yang komprehensif tentang literasi media. Tujuannya agar siswa di sekolah dapat menggunakan media sosial secara bijak dan tidak terjebak dalam penyalahgunaan media sosial. Dengan menggunakan metode ceramah dan pemutaran video selama dua hari, program pengabdian ini berupaya menjelaskan tentang bagaimana konsep-konsep media sosial, bagaimana dampak negatif media sosial, sejauh mana media sosial memberikan peluang positif bagi anak muda untuk berkreativitas di dalamnya, dan bagaimana menggunakan media sosial yang bijak. Hasil pengabdian ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa sangat antusias memahami tentang literasi media sosial dan bagaimana memanfaatkan media sosial untuk hal-hal positif. Terakhir, berdasarkan hasil pengabdian di atas, penulis merekomendasikan bahwa perlunya kerjasama dari berbagai pihak, baik guru, akademisi, orang tua, masyarakat, dan siswa, untuk memberikan literasi media kepada siswa dan menciptakan kegiatan-kegiatan kreatif dan positif di media sosial.

Abstract

Social entrepreneurship is a crucial factor in the development of society, as it can greatly contribute to the well-being of individuals. The focus of this study is to examine how millennials use new media as a tool to promote and advance social entrepreneurship. Recognizing the relationship between new media and discourse, this study argues that entrepreneurship is geared towards creating social solidarity and encouraging individuals to change their mindset about how to increase profits, primarily through building social networks. This highlights the importance of conducting communication research to identify critical issues concerning the empowerment of millennials, especially in the context of new media. Our unit of analysis focused on a social entrepreneurial group called Mengayam Pesisir which is located in Bantul and Gunung Kidul areas, Yogyakarta.  We utilized a qualitative descriptive approach, employing virtual ethnographic methods that included in-depth interviews, online documentation, and literature studies. We found that Menganyam Pesisir engaged in communicative discourse as they worked to identify the problems and opportunities in the community. By identifying problems and shortcomings in society, social entrepreneurs can use communicative discourse to address these issues and bring about positive change.

Abstract

The development of da'wah is increasing, including in South Sulawesi, especially Bulukumba. One of the pioneering da'wah organizations in Bulukumba is the Bulukumba Da'i Muda Council (MDM). Historically, MDM was founded on the desire and belief of the young preachers of Bulukumba to spread Islamic da'wah to all circles in South Sulawesi. There are 3 main targets of MDM in preaching: mothers, street youth and people with disabilities. This article is examined using several concepts, namely identity negotiation and expressing Islam. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews with research informants. The da'wah movement carried out by the Bulukumba Da'I Council (MDM) is inseparable from the portrait of contemporary issues, making youth and disabilities the primary targets for preaching. Da'wah activities among disabled people in South Sulawesi are new da'wah activities. MDM is a pioneer organization in this da'wah. The approach used in preaching is motivational and economical. In contrast, a dynamic approach is used among youths, namely, getting into the youth's habits, such as hanging out on beaches and cafes. These da'wah activities use thematic methods by raising material ranging from the Fiqhi of Worship to studying the interpretation of the Koran.

Abstract

This paper delves into the contemporary dynamics characterizing the educational practices of Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) in Indonesia, focusing on their intersection with literacy practices and the principles of religious moderation. Indonesia's pesantren system has been a cornerstone of Islamic education for centuries, and this study seeks to shed light on how these traditional institutions are adapting to modern contexts while preserving their core values. Through a comprehensive analysis of literature and theories, we argue on the multifaceted ways in which literacy practices are integrated into the curriculum of pesantren, enabling students to engage effectively with both religious texts and broader educational content. Moreover, we also explore how these literacy practices align with the principles of religious moderation, fostering an environment that promotes tolerance, dialogue, and ethical conduct among students in a modern world.
