Abstract

This study aims to analyze the mathematics learning outcomes of grade 5 students at SDN Cibodas 6 in learning flat shapes. Data on mathematics learning outcomes were obtained through written tests that included flat shape concepts such as squares, rectangles, triangles, and circles. Class observations were also carried out to see student activity during the flat shape learning. The results of the student data analysis showed that most of them had a good understanding of the concept of plane shapes and were able to identify and draw shapes correctly. However, a number of students experienced difficulties in calculating the area and perimeter of flat shapes. Factors that influence the results of learning mathematics in learning flat shapes include teaching methods used by teachers, student motivation, and parental support and participation in learning. The teacher has an important role in building student understanding by providing clear explanations, adequate exercises, and periodic reinforcement of concepts. The recommendation of this study is for teachers to use interactive teaching methods and involve students actively in learning flat shapes. More intensive training needs to be given to improve students' ability to calculate the area and perimeter of data shapes. Parents' support and participation should also be increased through open communication between schools and parents. This study provides a deeper understanding of the results of learning mathematics for grade 5 students in learning flat shapes. This information can be used by teachers and schools to evaluate and improve mathematics teaching and improve student learning outcomes in the future.
