Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of LH on premenstrual syndrome in young women at Darul Arqam Makassar. The research method used was the t-test to see the effect of LH concentrations on young women who experienced and did not experience premenstrual syndrome. The population of this study were all young women at the Darul Arqam Makassar Islamic Boarding School. The sample used was 50 young women consisting of 25 young women with PMS and 25 young women who were not. The results showed that there was an influence of the LH hormone with the average value of respondents whose average LH value was 7.36, which was higher than that of PMS, which was 7.35. After the data is processed with the t-test obtained p= 0.000 less than 0.05. This means that there is a significant effect of LH hormone concentration between no PMS, mild PMS, and severe PMS. The conclusion is that there is a significant effect of the concentration of the hormone LH f2a among young women who do not have PMS and PMS and between young women who experience mild PMS and severe PMS at Darul Arqam Islamic Boarding School Makassar.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the differences in Prostaglandin f2α concentration in female adolescents who experienced and did not experience Pre-Menstrual Syndrome (PMS). Cross-sectional study conducted at a single institution. The sample for this study was female adolescents at the Darul Arqam Islamic Boarding School in Makassar, consisting of 50 adolescents who experienced PMS and those who did not experience PMS in a ratio of 1:1. Prostaglandin f2α levels were measured using an ELISA kit. The sample used was 5 cc blood from the median cubital vein by laboratory staff 5 days before menstruation. Data were analyzed descriptively and statistically. The results showed that the average Prostaglandin f2α in the group that experienced PMS (379.07) was higher compared to the group that did not experience PMS (101.23) with a p-value < 0.05, significantly. Furthermore, the group that experienced mild PMS had an average Prostaglandin f2α value of 283.32, while the group that experienced severe PMS had an average Prostaglandin f2α value of 454.31. The average Prostaglandin f2α level in the group who did not experience PMS, mild PMS, and severe PMS had a p-value < 0.05. This study concludes that there is a significant difference in the Prostaglandin f2α Level in adolescents who experience PMS and those who do not experience it and there are differences based on the severity of PMS.

Abstract

Introduction: Current baby massage interventions have been shown to be effective in boosting baby growth so it is important to socialize baby massage to improve parents behavior so that they can do baby massage independently. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of baby massage training based on the AH Baby Massage application to enhance mother's intentions, mother knowledge, mother attitude and mother skills doing baby massage. Methods: This research uses quantitative methods with the design of one group pretest – posttest. To a mother who has a baby of 35 mothers in the area of work practice Bidan Independent District Biringkanaya City of Makassar. Results: The results of the study were obtained, there were differences in the mother's intentions, the mother’s knowledge of her attitude and her skills in performing baby massages before and after the intervention of baby massage training based on the AH Baby Massage application with (p value < 0.05). Conclusion: The conclusion of the baby massage training based on the AH Baby Massage app has been shown to improve the mother's intentions, knowledge, attitude and skills of the mother doing baby massage so it requires the role of Puskesmas, health care and kader involvement in socializing baby massage.
