Abstract

Schools have used an online learning system during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, several schools are still not covered by cellular services due to their remote locations. The community service activity aimed to provide alternative solutions and support for the online learning and teaching activities at Muhammadiyah elementary school in Tlogolelo, Hargomulyo village, located in Yogyakarta Special Region, Indonesia. The main issue was that not all students could participate in online learning because of poor cellular signals in the area, which hampered internet access. Furthermore, some students had limited resources to support infrastructure for online learning, namely because they did not have smartphones or had to take turns with their siblings or parents. The main program implemented was the procurement and installation of supporting facilities to utilize and optimize the existence of Radio Voice Education. The community service team provided several radio receivers, including FM radios for underprivileged students and Android smartphone devices to assist teachers in creating radio-based learning content. Several activities to increase teacher capacity in creating educational content based on FM community radio were also included in this program, such as socialization and training on the use of Android-based podcast applications, Anchor FM, and Spotify, as well as assistance in making FM community radio-based learning- content.

Abstract

The potential that exists in Kadigunung Hamlet, Hargomulyo Village, Kokap District, Kulon Progo Regency, D.I Province. Yogyakarta is where 90% of agricultural land is planted with coconut trees. The livelihoods of its residents are farmers and coconut sugar grinders. However, a lot of coconut husks are not used and are just piled up in people's yards until they become mountains. This results in an increase in unused coconut coir waste. In this hamlet, there are two farmer groups, namely the Forest Farmers Group (Poktan) Tani Makmur and the Women Farmers Group Sedyorukun. Currently, this farmer group in Kadigunung Hamlet has been active in producing POC from coconut fiber as raw material. However, they still find it difficult to peel the coco coir (separating the coir from the coconut shell) in order to get the coco coir that has been separated with large productivity. In addition, residents have not been able to package the POC products in good packaging with trademark labels, which are expected to be commercialized in general. In fact, if residents are able to produce POC products with good packaging and brand labels, residents can sell them in general in the market and can increase the economic income of residents, especially farmer groups in Kadigunung Hamlet. This Community Partnership Service aims to provide solutions to the residents of Kadigunung Hamlet, especially farmer groups by donating appropriate technology tools in the form of a Coconut Coir Peeling Machine that is able to simplify and increase the productivity of processing unused coconut coir waste into products of higher use value, namely to become ready-to-use POCs. used and can be marketed in general. This service program also develops the Kadigunung Hamlet area into an area that can care about the environment with the ability of residents to process waste (waste) independently so as to increase community environmental insight. The output of this Special Scheme Community Partnership Service (PKM) includes appropriate technology products in the form of a Coconut Coir Peeler Machine, POC Processing Module from coconut coir raw materials as well as POC packaging and trademark labeling, Proceedings of the ISBN Community Service national seminar or articles in Reputable National Journals. (Indexed by Sinta), Copyright of the POC Making Module, videos of service implementation, and news in the mass media.

Abstract

Dukuh Sibolong consists of nine RTs with a total population of 672. Based on the information our team got from Mr. Suharno as the head of the hamlet. The hamlet has several groups of informal community organizations such as youth organizations, PKK women. The majority of the population of Sonyo Hamlet are Muslim and have a livelihood as laborers, but there are also those who work as entrepreneurs because the geographical location of Sibolong Hamlet is located in the highlands. Actually, the hamlet of Sibolong has natural potential in the form of Salak Pondoh. One of these has just been processed into salak syrup. The potential of salak is managed by Mr. Suharno. Mr. Suharno has a market opportunity of up to 600 products per month. However, this opportunity brings consequences and problems, namely the wrong seed grinding machine is not owned. Information about some of the problems faced by the zalacca processors must of course be addressed as soon as possible as a solution for developing the zalacca processing business. The team that proposes service as part of the community who happens to be involved in the world of education, feels compelled to help provide solutions to the problems faced by Mr. Suharno's salak processing business. Through this proposed program of science and technology activities and based on the needs analysis that has been carried out, the service team tries to offer solutions to these problems with a touch of science and technology, namely through the main activity of designing a salak seed grinder to make salak coffee. The solosi is used to improve the processing of salak coffee.

Abstract

Since the outbreak of Covid-19, the popularity of medicinal plants has increased. Strong immunity is believed to prevent yourself from being exposed to the virus outbreak. The community believes that using traditional medicines such as herbal medicine from ginger, turmeric, ginger or kencur can increase the body's immunity. Family medicinal plants (TOGA) are family (home) cultivated plants that have medicinal properties. TOGA planting can be done in pots or on the land around the house, and if the land planted is large enough then some of the crops can be sold and increase family income. Banjarharjo 1 is one of the hamlets in Muntuk Village, Dlingo District, Bantul Regency. Geographically, Muntuk Village is a village located in an area that is in the highlands. Communities in the village area generally still have a large yard of land. The results of field observations show that the current development of TOGA is more on the aspect of cultivation only with utilization that is not optimal and limited to oneself and one's family. Communities who already have knowledge about the efficacy of TOGA and master how to process it can cultivate medicinal plants individually and use them so that the principle of independence in family medicine will be realized. Especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, processing herbal medicine to maintain health with ingredients derived from their own plants will really help maintain economic stability as well. Based on an analysis of the problems faced by partners, several efforts can be made as a solution to empower the people of Banjarharjo 1 Village in increasing the use of TOGA in the Making of Herbal Medicine to Increase Body Immunity as a Prevention of Covid-19. This PKM activity was carried out using the method of observation, counseling, mentoring and demonstration of making herbal medicine from the TOGA plant. The application of technology begins with training partners in terms of introducing TOGA types, cultivation and planting methods, as well as processing/manufacturing TOGA products for CPOTB-based family medicines and herbs. In addition, training was also made on making good and attractive packaging. The partners of the Banjarharjo Village 1 PKK team who collaborated with the proposer provided active participation in the provision of existing places and facilities. The results of the activity showed that residents already had knowledge about how to plant TOGA, knew about the benefits of TOGA for maintaining health, as well as raised awareness among residents to grow medicinal plants around their homes and increased skills in processing herbal medicine from TOGA.

Abstract

There is a tour that forms the border between the Nangsri Kidul and Nangsri Lor combinations, namely the Nangsri Lake tour. Nangsri Lake is one of the tours located on the border of the Nangsri Kidul and Nangsri Lor Villages, Candirejo Village, Kapanewon Semanu, Gunung Kidul Regency. Nangsri Lake is surrounded by large shady trees so the atmosphere is very cool and beautiful. The view at Nangsri Lake is also soothing to the eye. But unfortunately not many Yogyakarta residents know about the existence of Telaga Nangsri. Due to the corona pandemic that hit Indonesia in the Yogyakarta area, Nangsri Lake is increasingly empty of visitors. This is what underlies the KKN group and UMY Community Service Time to introduce Telaga Nangsri tourism to the people of Yogyakarta and outside Yogyakarta. To introduce and enliven Nangsri Lake tourism, our group made several work programs. The first work program is to create content for the tourism promotion of Nangsri Lake. The second work program is to make a photobooth that can be used as a photo facility at Nangsri Lake. The activity program can increase visitors to Nangsri Lake.

Apart from farmers, there are also people who open businesses such as USEP KM Cassava Chips and USEP KM Peyek.
