Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out the survival rates of betta fish larvae (cupang) that were given life feed Alona sp., boiled egg yolk and commercial feed for 21 days. Data analysis was performed by one-way ANOVA, and continued with BNJ (Tukey) test. The result of the survival rate is as follow treatment with life feed Alona sp. 56%, treatment with boiled egg yolk 26%, and treatment with commercial feed 0%. The results of statistical tests show there are significant differences.  Significant value p <.0002 (<.05). Water quality parameter measured during the study was temperature of 26 ºC.Keywords: betta fish larvae, life feed, Alona sp., survival rateABSTRAKTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan laju kelangsungan hidup larva ikan betta (cupang) yang dibeerikan pakan alami Alona sp., rebusan kuning telur dan pakan komersil selama 21 hari.  Analisis data dilakukan dengan ANOVA one way, dan dilanjutkan dengan uji BNJ (Tukey).  Hasil laju kelangsungan hidup adalah sebagai berikut, perlakuan dengan pakan alami Alona sp. 56%, perlakuan dengan rebusan kuning telur 26%, dan perlakuan dengan pakan komersil 0%.  Hasil uji statistik menunjukan adanya perbedaan yang nyata.  Nilai signifikan p <.0002 (<.05).  Parameter kualitas air yang diukur selama penelitian adalah suhu 26ºC.Keywords: larva ikan betta, pakan alami, Alona sp., kelangsungan hidup

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menetapkan dosis penambahan ekstrak daun ketapang dalam pakan untuk meningktkan. Ikan uji adah benih nila berukuran 5-8 cm dengan beratr ata-rata 2,93 g yang diperoleh dari Balai Perikanan Budidaya Air Tawar Tatelu. Bahan uji berupa Daun Ketapang  (Terminalia catappa) dengan dosis A= 0, B= 5 g/kg, C= 10 g/kg, D= 20 g/kg dan E= 40 g/kg  diberikan kepada ikan selama 21 hari. Ikan diberi pakan perlakuan dua kali sehari yakni pukul 09.00 am dan 16.00 pm dengan dosis pemberian 5%/berat tubuh/hari. Hasil penelitian didapatkan pertumbuhan terbaik dicapai pada kosentrasi ekstrak daun ketapang 5 g/kg.  Sebagai kesimpulan adalah ekstrak daun ketapang dapat digunakan dalam akuakultur untuk meningktkan pertumbuhan ikan.Kata kunci : Daun Ketapang, tanaman obat, ikan Nila,  A. hydrophila, budidaya ABSTRAKThe research aimed to  establish the accurate dose of catappa leave extract supplemented into feed to enhance fish growth.  The fish measuring 5-8 cm with an average weight of 2.93 g were obtained from Board of Freshwater Fisheries Aquaculture Tatelu. Catappa leave extract as much as A= 0, B= 5 g/kg, C= 10 g/kg, D= 20 g/kg dan E= 40 g/kg were added into feed and fed to fish for 21 days.  The fish wee fed twice  day at 09.00 am and 16.00 pm at 5% of body weigth a day.  Research result showed that application of 5 g of leave extract per kg of feed gave the best absolute and specific growth of fish.  Thus, supplementation of leave extract into fish feed was potential ti improve fish growth.Keywords: catappa leave, medicinal plant, Nile tilapia, aquaculture, A. hydrophila.

Abstract

This study aims to get an overview of the intensity of predation on mangrove ecosystem in five marine protected areas (MPA), namely Tumbak, Basaan, Blongko, Bahoi and Tambun. The research method was carried out by installing Squidpops bait within one hour and calculating the number of lost bait during the exposure of baits in high tide. Fish species that migrate in the mangrove area are obtained through visual census; Mega Bentos is recorded.  The result of this study indicates the intensity of predation in the mangrove ecosystem in the five North Sulawesi DPLs are varied in each location, which has the possibility of being influenced by local condition, predatory fish population, the level of disturbance at observation, method and level of preference for the bait provided.Keywords: Predation, Predator, Mangrove, Fish Community, Squidpops ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan gambaran intensitas predasi pada ekosistem mangrove di lima daerah perlindungan laut (DPL), yaitu Tumbak, Basaan, Blongko, Bahoi dan Tambun. Metode penelitian dilakukan dengan pemasangan umpan Squidpops dalam waktu 1 jam dan menghitung jumlah umpan yang hilang selama umpan terpapar pada saat air pasang. Jenis ikan yang bermigrasi di daerah mangrove diperoleh melalui sensus visual; mega bentos dicatat. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan intensitas predasi di ekosistem mangrove pada 5 DPL Sulawesi Utara bervariasi pada tiap lokasi yang memiliki kemungkinan dipengaruhi oleh kondisi lokal, populasi ikan predator, tingkat gangguan saat pengamatan, metode dan tingkat kesukaan pada umpan yang disediakan.Kata Kunci: Predasi, Predator-Mangsa, Mangrove, Komunitas Ikan, Squidpops

Abstract

This study aims to determine the size distribution and the relationship between length and weight and condition factors of Banggai Cardinalfish (Pterapogon kauderni) in the Lembeh Strait. Fish samples were obtained by using Chang Net in the Lembeh Strait. Total fish caught were 150 individuals from three sites namely Serena Besar Island, the waters in front of LIPI and the waters in front of Papusungan village with 50 fish each. The size distribution of Pterapogon kauderni fish ranges from 4.13 - 8.92 cm and dominated by the size class of 7.13 - 7.72 cm while the size class of 4.13 - 4.72 cm only contains 3 individuals. The length-weight relationship of male fish is W = 0.0285 L2.6496 (n = 77; R2 = 0.7231), and female fish W = 0.837 L2.0723 (n = 73; R2 = 0.6626).  The growth pattern analysis shows a negative allometric pattern both for males and females while the condition factors of male fish are 1.020 ± 0.202 and female 1.027 ± 0.236.Keywords: Kauderni pterapogon, distribution size, length-weight relationship, condition factorAbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui distribusi ukuran dan hubungan panjang berat serta faktor kondisi ikan Capungan Banggai (Pterapogon kauderni) yang ada di Selat Lembeh. Sampel ikan diperoleh dengan cara ditangkap menggunakan Chang Net di Selat Lembeh. Total hasil tangkapan adalah 150 individu masing-masing 50 di Pulau Serena Besar, Perairan depan LIPI dan Perairan depan desa Papusungan. Sebaran ukuran ikan Pterapogon kauderni berkisar antara 4,13 – 8,92 cm dan didominasi oleh kelas ukuran 7,13 – 7,72 cm sedangkan kelas ukuran 4,13 – 4,72 cm hanya terdapat 3 individu. Hubungan panjang-berat ikan jantan adalah W = 0,0285L2,6496 & (n = 77 ; R2 = 0,7231), ikan betina W = 0,837L2,0723 (n = 73 ; R2 = 0,6626). Analisis pola pertumbuhan menunjukan pola pertumbuhan allometrik negatif  baik jantan maupun betina. sedangkan Faktor kondisi ikan jantan 1,020 ± 0,202 dan betina 1,027 ± 0,236.Kata kunci: Pterapogon kauderni, sebaran ukuran, panjang berat, faktor kondisi
