Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this program is to improve the ability and skills of teachers on the use of learning media of science in the elementary school (known as Sekolah Dasar in Bahasa; henceforth abbreviated as SD) at the district of Sijunjung in the province of Sumatera Barat, Indonesia. We encouraged respective teachers on modifying, creating and using learning media relevant to Science learning in SD. Thus, teachers are not only able to utilize the existing science learning media, but also to develop new learning media related to the subject. The output of the program is the guidebook that teachers can further use as a technical guideline in applying science learning media at SD. In assuring the quality of the program, the evaluation was conducted through process and result assessments. The mean score of 3.54 and 3.73 rooted from process and result assessments respectively indicating the performance of teachers applying science learning media at a very good category. In conclusion, the dissemination program of technology aids learning media science in elementary school teachers in the District of Sijunjung at the Province of West Sumatra was successfully implemented.Keywords: Science, Learning Media, Elementary School, Sijunjung, Sumatera Barat

Abstract

AbstractThe movement that had been carried out in Early Childhood Education (PAUD) in the Cahaya and Manca playgroups in Delitua village was only on gymnastics or sports. The most basic cause is the absence of competent teachers in the field of dance movement. In addition, the available teachers do not understand optimally about how to provide dance material that is right at the age of the children in the playgroup. Based on this situation, the proposed team through the Coaching of Playgroups in Dance Motion, fostering and strengthening dance activities for children Light playgroups, as well as four teachers in the Manca playgroup. The method applied is guidance and stabilization of mastery of dance movements for the age of children, namely: (1) Butterfly dance which includes hand, foot, head, shoulder and hip movements, and (2) Flower Party dance which includes motion hands, feet, head, shoulders, and hips. Through this guidance and consolidation, 2 (two) new dances appeared, which were appropriate for the age of the children and packaged in audiovisual media, so that they could be used as learning media in the two playgroups.Keywords: Playgroup, Butterfly dance, Flower Party dance.

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this study is to examine the ability to think logically in physics teachers candidates based on gender. The study was carried out in Medan State University that is acknowledged as one of leading Teaching-based Institution (locally known as Lembaga Pendidikan Tenaga Kependidikan, henceforth abbreviated as LPTK) in Medan. This research used an instrument that further examining the Test of Logical Thinking (TOLT). The total research sample is 70 people, consisting of 27 male and 43 female students. The results showed that male students have a higher logical thinking ability than female students.
