Abstract

Anger is basically a normal thing and has been experienced by almost everyone. However, if anger is vented incorrectly, it will have a bad impact, especially on teenagers. The purpose of this study was how the effect of murattal al-Qur'an in reducing anger due to stress, anxiety, and depression in Baznas Vocational High School students in South Sulawesi Province in Makassar City. This research is quantitative in the form of quasi-experimental with a before-after design using the one-group pretest-posttest. The research location is at the Baznas Vocational High School (SMK) of South Sulawesi Province in 2020. The population of all students in grades IX and X is 47 people and a sample of 23 students, but at the end of the study, there were 15 students left after they were heard the murattal al-Qur'ān letter ar-Rahman. a questionnaire in the form of the Novaco Anger Scale (NAS) to see the level of anger and the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS) scale to see depression, anxiety, and stress. Students who experienced depression experienced a deficit of 8.27 ± 5.89 (pre-test) increased to 9.07 ± 7.12 (post-test). It was found that the mean difference was SD - 0.80 ± 6.30 (p-Value = 0.63). The group that experienced stress on average was 13.60 ± 8.17 (pre-test) to 13.40 ± 9.53 (post-test) with an SD mean difference of 0.20 ± 5.66 (p-Value = 0.13 ). Experienced anxiety a mean of 14.20 ± 7.52 (pre-test) to 9.07 ± 7.72 (post-test) with a mean SD of 5.17 ± 6.64 (p-Value = 0.89). There was no significant difference in reducing anger that causes depression, stress, and anxiety after the murattal al-Qur'an was heard. However, in stress and anxiety, there was an improvement after hearing the murattal al-Qur'an. It is recommended that educators pay special attention to students who are easily angry because they can disrupt the learning process at school.
