Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini  untuk mengetahui pengaruh level suhu mesin tetas terhadap daya tetas dan bobot tetas day old quail (DOQ) puyuh Padjadjaran. Penelitian secara eksperimental, menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), 3 level suhu diulang sebanyak 7 kali. Level suhu mesin tetas terdiri atas T1 = 37,0 , T2 = 37,5 , dan T3 = 38,0 °C. Parameter yang diamati adalah daya tetas telur dan bobot tetas DOQ. Data  penelitian diolah menggunakan analisis sidik ragam dan apabila memberikan hasil yang signifikan, dilanjutkan dengan Uji Duncan. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan level suhu mesin tetas 37,5°C selama masa inkubasi menghasilkan daya dan bobot tetas DOQ puyuh Padjadjaran yang optimal.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemberian probiotik berbasis susu sapi, susu kedelai dan susu kacang hijau fermentasi terhadap kadar kolesterol dan trigliserida darah ayam broiler. Penelitian menggunakan 100 ekor DOC ayam broiler dan dipelihara selama 28 hari. Pengujian sampel darah di Laboratorium Fisiologi Ternak dan Biokimia, Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Padjadjaran, Sumedang. Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimental dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dan pengaruh perlakuan menggunakan analisis Sidik Ragam dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan. Perlakuan terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dengan 5 ulangan, yaitu P0= (ransum komersial), P1= (ransum komersial + 2% probiotik (100 % susu sapi fermentasi)), P2= (ransum komersial + 2% probiotik (50% susu sapi fermentasi  + 50% susu kedelai)), P3= (ransum komersial + 2% probiotik (50% susu sapi fermentasi + 25% susu kedelai fermentasi + 25% susu kacang hijau fermentasi)). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian probiotik berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap penurunan kadar trigliserida darah dan berpengaruh tidak nyata  (P>0,05)  terhadap  penurunan  kadar  kolesterol darah.Kesimpulan dari penelitian bahwa pada perlakuan P3 tidak nyata menurunkan kadar kolesterol dan trigliserida darah, akan tetapi terjadi penurunan 20% dari P0 kadar kolesterol dan trigliserida darah ayam broiler. Kata Kunci: fermentasi, kolesterol, trigliserida, probiotik, broiler

Abstract

Penelitian dengan judul “Pengaruh Pemberian Ekstrak Daun Kepel (Stelechocarpus burahol) Terhadap Kadar Kolesterol Darah Dan Telur Puyuh (Coturnix-coturnix japonica)” telah dilaksanakan pada bulan Juni-September 2019 di Pusat Pembibitan Puyuh Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Padjadjaran, dan Laboratorium Fisiologi dan Biokimia, Fakultas Peternakan, Universitas Padjadjaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kadar kolesterol darah dan telur (yolk) puyuh yang diberi perlakuan ekstrak daun kepel (Stelechocarpus burahol). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Terdapat 20 unit perlakuan yang terdiri atas 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan, dengan dosis perlakuan ekstrak daun kepel yaitu : P0 = 0 mg/kgBB, P1 = 200 mg/kgBB, P2 = 300 mg/kgBB, P3 = 400 mg/kgBB, dan P4 = 500 mg/kgBB. Puyuh yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 80 ekor. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kadar koelsterol darah pada setiap perlakuan tidak berbeda nyata (P>0,05), tetapi berbeda nyata (P<0,05) terhadap kadar kolesterol telur. Kesimpulan yang dapat diambil ialah pemberian ekstrak daun kepel (S. burahol) belum mampu menurunkan kadar kolesterol darah, namun pada dosis 200 mg/kgBB dapat menurunkan kadar kolesterol telur.

Abstract

The research was conducted to know the effect of noni fruit extract supplemented by Cu and Zn on blood cholesterol and  egg yolk cholesterol, creatinin, and blood urea nitrogen of sentul chicken. The research was done from August until October 2019. Samples test was held in Physiology and Biochemistry Laboratory, Animal Husbandry Faculty, Padjadjaran University, Sumedang. The methods used experimental with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) and the effect of treatment using Analysis of  Varience (ANOVA) followed by Orthogonal Polynomial. The treatment consisted of five kind with five repetitions, those are to =  without adding noni fruit extract and  Cu, Zn , t1= Ration + 60 mg/kg extract noni fruit suplemented Cu 0,06 mg and Zn 1,5 mg, t2= Ration+ 180 mg/kg extract fruit noni suplemented Cu 0,18 mg and Zn 3,0 m, t3= Ration + 240 mg/kg extract fruit noni suplemented Cu 0,24 mg and Zn 4,5 mg, t4= Ration + 360 mg/kg extract fruit noni suplemented Cu 0,36 and Zn 6,0 mg. Abstract

This research is aimed to evaluate sweet orange’s role in lowering meat cholesterol and fat in Padjadjaran sheep. Twenty sheeps with body weigth 29.66±2.74 kg and variance coefficient <10% were used in this research using Completely Randomize Design (CRD). The treatments were consists of four level sweet orange addition in ration. The treatments were T1 (0%), T2 (7%), T3 (12%) and T4 (17%) that were repeated 5 times. The research was conducted for five weeks with observed variables are ration consumption that was measured everyday, body gain that was measured every week, cholesterol and triglycerides measured at the end of the research. During the research water consumption was given ad libitum. Meat samples were selected randomly from three for each repeated treatments. Observation result showed the highest decrease on meat cholesterol level was T2 treatment with 9.43±0.04 mg/mg on thigh and 9.71±0.04 mg/mg on breast. Meanwhile for fat, the highest decrease was from T4 treatment with 9.70±3.98 ug/mg dan 10.48±1.85 ug/mg. Rumen’s pH did not show significant difference (P>0.05) on all treatments with value range between 6.80±0.01 - 6.5±0.02. In conclusion, sweet orange (Citrus sinensis) waste is capable to lowering cholesterol level and fat in meat of Padjadjaran sheep. Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan ekstrak buah manggis yang disuplementasi dengan Cu dan Zn dalam ransum terhadap jumlah eritrosit, kadar hemoglobin, dan nilai hematokrit ayam sentul fase layer. Penelitian menggunakan 40 ekor ayam sentul betina, dan dipelihara dari umur 28 minggu sampai 35 minggu yang bertempat di Test Farm Fakultas Peternakan, Universitas Padjadjaran. Analisis Sampel dilakukan di Laboratorium Fisiologi Ternak dan Biokimia, Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Padjadjaran. Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimental dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Perlakuan terdiri dari lima macam dengan empat ulangan, yaitu, P0 = ransum basal, P1 = ransum basal+60 mg/kg ransum ekstrak kulit manggis + Cu 0,3 mg dan Zn 2,4 mg; P2 = ransum basal+120 mg/kg ransum ekstrak kulit manggis + Cu 0,6 mg dan Zn 4,8 mg; P3= ransum basal+180 mg/kg ransum ekstrak kulit manggis + Cu 0,9 mg dan Zn 7,2 mg; P4= ransum basal+240 mg/kg ransum ekstrak kulit manggis + Cu 1,2 mg dan Zn 9,6 mg. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pemberian ekstrak kulit manggis yang disuplementasi Cu dan Zn memberikan pengaruh tidak berbeda nyata (P>0.05). Disimpulkan bahwa, penambahan ekstrak kulit manggis yang disuplementasi dengan Cu dan Zn mampu mempertahankan jumlah eritrosit, kadar hemoglobin, dan nilai hematokrit berada pada kisaran normal.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the simplest quality of milk with organoleptic tests (color, taste, flavour) and milk content of dairy cows before and after treatment. In vivo testing was carried out at PT. Citra Agro Buana Semesta (CABS) Malangbong. The study design used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 4 replications. Treatment P1: Complete Ration, P2: P1 + DFM, P3: P1 + DFM + Protein by pass, P4: P1 + DFM + PFM. Analysis of organoleptic test results using the Friedman test and water content in dairy cows was tested by analysis of variance with Duncan's advanced test. Organoleptic research results and water content in milk of dairy cows showed a significant (p<0,05 The organoleptic test results for each treatment showed changes to the control treatment and the low water content obtained in the complete feed supplemented with DFM and PFM that was 86,74 ± 0,609%.

Abstract

Mangosteen peel extract contains good antibacterial compounds and is thought to be better when microencapsulated is formed. This study aimed to determine the effects of formulation of mangosteen peel ethanol extract associated to maltodextrin on activities of Escherichia coli. It was conducted by disk diffusion method according to Kirby-Bauer test in Mueller Hinton Agar (MHA) using three different concentrations namely: 100, 75, and 50 (%). Each formulation was tested as many as 10 µL disk -1 consisted of each treatment. The employed maltodextrin was obtained by enzymatic processing of arenga starch. Nine formulations were tested by measuring their bacterial inhibition activity in a Mueller Hinton Agar (MHA) medium.  The results showed that the effects of formulation between mangosteen peel ethanol extract and maltodextrin had the significant effect (P<0.05) on the antibacterial activities of Escherichia coli. It had been shown the ability to actively inhibit the bacterial growth at medium levels.

Abstract

Xanthone compounds in the ethanol extract of mangosteen peel have antibacterial activity against both pathogenic and beneficial bacteria. The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of various formulations of ethanol extract of mangosteen peel and maltodextrin from palm starch on Salmonella thypimurium and Lactobacillus acidophilus. This research was conducted by culturing the bacterial cultures of S. thypimurium and L. acidophilus on nutrient agar (NA) media in petri dishes according to the Kirby-Bauer method. The NA media that had been made in the petri dish was then made wells to test each treatment as much as 10 µL/disk at various concentrations (100, 75 and 50%). The formulations tested in this study consisted of: T1 (30% ethanol extract of mangosteen peel + 70% maltodextrin), T2 (40% ethanol extract of mangosteen peel + 60% maltodextrin), T3 (50% ethanol extract of mangosteen peel + 50% % maltodextrin), T4 (60% ethanol extract of mangosteen peel + 40% maltodextrin), T5 (70% ethanol extract of mangosteen peel + 30% maltodextrin), T6 (ethanol extract of mangosteen peel only), T7 (maltodextrin only), T8 (positive control containing 100 ppm bacitracin) and T9 (negative control/no treatment). The results of each sample were observed by measuring the sample inhibition zone on the growth medium that had been prepared. Data from the antibacterial activity test results were then analyzed using one-way ANOVA followed by Duncan's test. The results showed that the ethanol extract of mangosteen peel and maltodextrin had a significant effect (P<0.05) on the antibacterial activity of Salmonella thypimurium and Lactobacillus acidophilus. The results of this study indicated that the formulation of ethanol extract of mangosteen peel and maltodextrin had the ability as an antibacterial against Salmonella thypimurium and Lactobacillus acidophilus at a medium level.

Abstract

Abattoir is the place to get meat but also a source of potential genetic sperm. Sperm from a slaughterhouse has low motility. Sperm motility can be improved by adding caffeine to the thinner before being used for fertilization. Caffeine is an alkaloid compound that can increase energy through a cAMP cycle. The method used is the testis of 12 cows Bali taken from a slaughterhouse Cibinong and do frozen sperm. Frozen sperm is analyzed using a computer-assisted sperm Analyzed (CASA) who had been treated caffeine 0, 2, 4, and 6 mg/ml. Fertility frozen epididymis sperm was tested using in vitro fertilization. Results were analyzed using a completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments unidirectional pattern three repetitions. The results showed that the treatment with the addition of caffeine to the thinner of the yolk tris egg yolk epididymis sperm, there was no difference in motility, recovery rate, Curvilinear velocity (VCL), average path velocity (VAP), and straight-line velocity (VSL).
