Abstract

21st century mathematical learning emphasizes the importance of developing creativity, critical thinking, cooperation and communication skills. The aims of Mathematics are to trained students to think critically, systematically, logically, analytically, and creatively and have an effective willingness to work which is a Higher Order Thinking Skills. The development of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in learning is one manifestation of the implementation of the 2013 curriculum, so that learning and evaluation activities carried out should be oriented to HOTS. HOTS especially in mathematics was born from a continuous process and not only results oriented. A continuous and consistent process is needed to train and familiarize students. This should start from the beginning of the learning activities to take place until the completion of even the process of reflection and evaluation. Teachers must be able to facilitate students to become good thinkers and problem solvers

Abstract

This study aims to describe the mathematical higher-order thinking skills of eighth-grade students in junior high school. This research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The research subjects were 2 students of class VIII SMP Negeri 1 Palu. Data collection techniques include tests and interviews. The results obtained indicate that at the level of analytical thinking, students only apply problem-solving procedures without analyzing (C4) the principles that are relevant to the given problem. At the level of evaluating thinking (C5), students can provide valid arguments in verifying the given problem. While at the creative thinking level (C6), students cannot find work ideas to solving the problems presented

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model on the mathematical literacy abilities of MTs students. This type of research using a quasi-experimental approach. The research design is in the form of (pre-test-post-test with control group). The research resulst showed that there was an increase in students’ mathematical literacy skills by looking at the t-test data. The average post-test value for the experimental class was 78,4912 while the control class obtained an average value of 76,2059. So it can be concluded that the Problem Based Learning (PBL) leraning model is effective on the mathematical literacy abilities of MTs students

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze 21st century skills in learning. The research method used is Systematic Literature Review. Data was collected by documenting and reviewing literature in the National Library of Indonesia and Google Scholar databases related to 21st century skills in learning in the 2020-2021 period as many as 520 literatures. A total of 20 literatures were analyzed using the Miles & Huberman interactive model by collecting data, reducing data using thematic analysis techniques, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. The findings provide insight into the methodology and results of research on 21st century skills, namely 21st century skills that are positively and significantly correlated with perceptions, technology, learning outcomes, and self-efficacy. The use of inquiry learning models, Blended Learning, PBL, and project-based learning are effective in improving 21st century skills
