Abstract

A small portion is traditionally processed as a snack that cannot last long. This training aims to provide knowledge, understanding and skills to the people of the Selayar Islands to process Jawawut raw materials become diamond-jawawut that last a long time so that they become people's food and can support the community's economy. This training was carried out for 3 (three) consecutive months, starting from June – August 2020, the participants of this training were 22 people, consisting of the Village Head, and staff, PKK members, entrepreneurs in the Selayar Islands Regency. Participants are very enthusiastic about participating in the training, the results obtained by participants have understood, mastered and skilled in processing millet raw materials into diamonds that can last a long time as a source of additional income, can also be consumed by the local community and used as gifts for tourists both locally and abroad. Abstract

This study highlights the effect of (1) training and development, (2) Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills, and (3) additional employee allowances (Tambahan Perbaikan Penghasilan or TPP) on teacher performance at UPT SMA Negeri I Palopo. This is a quantitative study in an ex post facto correlational design. The population includes the 60 entire teachers at UPT SMA Negeri 1 in Palopo City, from which a sample size is calculated using Slovin’s formula at a 5% confidence level. Instrument of data collection fits in a 5-scale Thurstone questionnaire that measures four variables, i.e., training and development(X1), ICT skills (X2), additional employee allowances(X3), and teacher performance (Y). SPSS 23 is used to run multiple regression for data analysis. Findings indicate that the partialeffect of X variables on teacher performance at UPT SMA Negeri 1 Palopo is 25,7% (training and development-X1), 43,1% (ICT skills-X2), and38,2% (additional employee allowances-X3). In terms of simultaneity, the influence of X variables on teacher performance is 45%. These findings suggest that the constructs of training and development, ICT skills, and additional employee allowance, both partially and simultaneously, are helpful for aiding in the improvement model of teacher performance. UPT SMA Negeri 1 Palopo can use these findings to define performance quality plan for its entire teacher workforce.

Abstract

Water bird diversity in mangrove ecosystem of the Malili District, East Luwu Regency, South Sulawesi, is rarely studied. This reseacrh aims to examine the diversity of bird species in the mangrove ecosystem, Malili District, East Luwu Regency, South Sulawesi. The study was conducted at two stations, namely mangrove forests at the Lakawali River estuary and at the Ussu River estuary. Data collection was carried out using field by field methods, observations were made with binoculars and a Nikon D5200 DSLR camera. Data analysis was performed using the Diversity Index (H’) formula according to Shannon-Winner and evenness index (E) according to Magurren. Species conservation status is determined based on Minister of Environment and Forestry Regulation No. P.106/MENLHK/SETJEN/ KUM.1/12/2018 and IUCN redlist. The results showed that 417 individual birds were found consisting of 5 orders, 7 families and 17 species, there was one protected species, namely great knot (Calidris tenuirostris). The diversity index (H’) in the estuary of Lakawali river is 2.48, and in the estuary of Ussu river is 2.59 which indicates the medium category. The evenness index (E) in the estuary of Lakawali river was 0.92 and in the Ussu River was 0.93 which showed that the distribution of species in both habitats was quite even.

Abstract

Fisheries Management Area of Republic of Indonesia (FMARI) 573 has great potential and needs to be supported by complete and accurate information, especially fishing ground locations so that the fisheries sector can become better. This study aims to estimate the location of the fishing ground in the western of FMARI 573 based on the movement of fishing vessels carrying out fishing operations, as well as sea surface temperature (SST) conditions and chlorophyll-a concentrations. The data used is a 10 year time series of AQUA-MODIS and SNPP-VIIRS satellite images. Analysis of chlorophyll-a and SST using ArcGis, while estimation of fishing ground locations with overlay techniques between ship distribution with SST conditions and chlorophyll-a concentrations. The results showed that the average SST value was relatively higher during Transitional Season I compared to the other three seasons. The average seasonal chlorophyll-a concentration fluctuates, the maximum value occurs in the Western Season and the minimum in the East Season. The concentration and distribution of fishing vessels indicate fishing ground areas in Pangandaran waters and along the coast of Binuangeun waters and Palabuhan Ratu Bay.
