Abstract

Leaves of sangitan (Sambucus javanica Reinw) are often found but noticed. The leaf part of the sangitan plant is used to treat swelling, insecticides, antidiarrheal, antiinfectives, wounds, smoothing the skin as it contains flavonoid chemical compounds, glycosides, anthracton glycosides, saponins, steroids / triterpenoids and tannins. Screening results of ethanol extract of sour leaves (SambucusjavanicaReinw) contain alkaloid compounds, flavonoids, glikosida, antrakinon glycosides, saponins, steroids / triterpenoids and tannins. The extraction of sangitan leaves was done by maceration using 96% ethanol. Examination of antibacterial activity of ethanol extract of sangitan leaves was done in vitro by diffusion method of wells with concentrations of 500, 400, 300, 200 and 100 mg / ml. This study used cotrimosazole as a comparator and 96% ethanol as a negative control. The extract of ethanol leaves sangitan showed anti bacterial activity against bacteria Eschericia coli and Salmonella thypi at concentration 500 mg / ml respectively 16,11 mm and 17,04 mm which is classified strong but when compared with antibiotic cotrimosazole 10 mg / ml visible diameter of inhibit ethanol extract Leaves sangitan still much lower that is 30,35 mm in bacterium Eschericia coli and 33,15 mm in Salmonella thypi bacteria whereas ethanol extract do not show inhibitory power.

Abstract

This reseach was conducted to determine the antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Eschericia coli from pandanus fragrant ethanol extract formulated in the form of hand gel antiseptic preparations. The ethanol extract was prepared by percolation using 96% ethanol solvent. Phytochemical screening is done on fragrant pandan leaves. Evaluation of hand antiseptic gel preparations included organoleptic testing, homogeneity testing, pH determination, spreading test, stability, irritation testing and antibacterial testing of Staphylococcus aureus and Eschericia coli. The results of phytochemical screening showed that the pandanus fragrant leaves contain alkaloids, tannins, saponins, flavonoids and polyphenols. The pandanus fragrant leaves ethanol extract can be formulated into hand gel antiseptic preparations because the pH is about 6.0-7.1, the spreading power is about 5.06-5.15 cm, stable for 12 weeks and organoleptically a formula with a very 2.5% concentration Favored and does not irritate the skin. The results of antibacterial activity test showed that the preparation with concentration of 10% had the strongest activity with the diameter of 13,23 mm to Staphylococcus aureus and 13,13% to Eschericia coli almost same with dettol stock on the market with diameter 16,43mm to Staphylococcus aureus and 16 , 03% against Eschericia coli.

Abstract

Hipertensi atau dikenal dengan sebutan penyakit darah tinggi atau suatu keadaan dimana tekanan darah seseorang berada diatas batas normal. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan tingkat pengetahuan tentang diet dengan kepatuhan diet penderita hipertensi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian explanatory research dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Lokasi penelitian dilaksanakan di Puskesmas Padang Bulan Medan pada bulan Juli 2017. Sampel diambil sebanyak 100 responden dengan menggunakan quota sampling. Alat pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan kuesioner. Analisis data menggunakan distribusi frekuensi dan chi-square. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat pengetahuan responden tentang diet hipertensi di Puskesmas Padang Bulan Medan termasuk kategori baik sebanyak  98 responden (98%) sedangkan kategori kurang baik sebanyak 2 responden (2%).  Berdasarkan chi-square diperoleh p-value sebesar 0,0001 (p<0.05) sehingga terdapat hubungan tingkat pengetahuan tentang diet dengan kepatuhan diet penderita hipertensi di Puskesmas Padang Bulan Medan. Dari hasil penelitian didapat adanya hubungan tingkat pengetahuan tentang diet dengan kepatuhan diet penderita hipertensi di Puskesmas Padang Bulan Medan.

Abstract

The results of antibacterial activity test showed that the preparation with concentration of 10% had the strongest activity with the diameter of 13,23 mm to Staphylococcus aureus and 13,13% to Eschericia coli almost same with dettol stock on the market with diameter 16,43mm to Staphylococcus aureus and 16 , 03% against Eschericia coli.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan kegiatan edukasi kepada masyarakat dengan mengusung tema : “Hidup Sehat Pada Lansia di Masa Pandemik COVID-19”. Edukasi dilakukan oleh tim gabungan yang terdiri atas sejumlah dosen perguruan tinggi negeri dan swasta di kota Medan. Sasaran edukasi ini adalah masyarakat kelompok lansia maupum yang merawat lansia di rumah yang bermukim di daerah Medan Johor, tepatnya di Komunitas Belajar Rumah Ayah (Fadlan Institute) yang terletak di Jl. Karya Muda No. 7. Adapun kegiatan dimulai dengan senam pagi bersama dan diikuti dengan pemaparan materi serta sesi tanya jawab. Para peserta dalam edukasi ini menunjukkan antusiasme yang tinggi terutama Komunitas Senam Sehat Ceria Karya Muda yang secara rutin melakukan kegiatan senam dengan protokol kesehatan disana. Dari hasil edukasi, masyarakat terutama kaum lansia dan yang merawat lansia semakin mengerti bahwa pola hidup sehat termasuk olahraga teratur, makan makanan yang bergizi seimbang, serta menerapkan protokol kesehatan harus tetap dijalankan secara konsisten di masa pandemik ini.

Abstract

Research on the study of Minyak Karo ethnobotany aims to determine the types of plants that are the raw material for making Minyak Karo and its utilization. The method used in the study is a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques carried out through an emic approach and an ethical approach to the interview method with producers of Minyak Karo. The results obtained in this study are 42 species from 24 families which are used as ingredients in the production of Minyak Karo. Zingiberaceae is the type most widely used in these herbs. Plant parts used are leaves (16 species), rhizomes (7 species), roots (6 species), seeds (5 species), fruit (4 species), flowers and tubers (2 species each), and stems (1 species). Benefits of Minyak Karo treat aches, treat colds, reduce heat / fever, heal wounds, dry out and treat sunburn, treat itching, strengthen bones in infants, treat lumbago, treat rheumatism, treat sprains, treat body aches, and treat muscle cramps. Minyak Karo is an external medicine so that its use is enough by way of being rubbed, applied or massaged.

Abstract

The bacteria Mycobacterium tuberculosis causes tuberculosis. That bacteria is a very strong bacterium, so it should used some antibiotics to kill the bacteria. Tuberculosis (TB) treatment has two stages of intensive and advanced stages. To improve the compliance of TB, patients generally use anti-tuberculosis drugs (OAT) a fixed-dose combination. In the intensive stage, there are at least four antibiotics in the OAT combines fixed-dose. The use of polypharmacy drugs leads to the onset of unwanted side effects and is one of the causes of tuberculosis patients to stop treatment. The purpose of this research is analyzing the side effects that occur during the treatment of anti-tuberculosis. Sampling techniques performed in a prospective observation of tuberculosis patients who consume OAT for two months with analysis using statistics. The results of the study are the most frequent adverse effects on OAT are itching, headache and nausea with a percentage of each 72%, joint pain 45%, abdominal pain 36.4%, less appetite and rash respectively 27,3% and reddish colour in the urine 18.2 %.

Abstract

Vitamin telah dilaporkan sebagai mikronutrien penting, pada sistem kekebalan tubuh. Nutrisi yang memadai dan imunonutrisi dikenal sebagai prehabilitasi. Prehabilitasi dapat membantu tubuh untuk bertindak secara kuat melawan patogen mematikan seperti COVID-19. Banyak masyarakat yang mengkonsumsi vitamin untuk mencegah terpapar virus tetapi sebenarnya kurang mengetahui vitamin apa yang sebaiknya dikonsumsi. Maka perlu di berikan edukasi ke masyarakat mengenai vitamin yang tepat dikonsumsi pada masa pandemi covid 19.metodenya melalui pemberian edukasi kepada masyarakat dengan cara presentasi. Abstract

Hipertensi merupakan kondisi medis dengan prevalensi tinggi, dimana merupakan suatu sindrom atau kumpulan gejala kardiovaskuler yang progresif sebagai akibat dari kondisi lain yang kompleks dan saling berhubungan. Banyak masyarakat yang belum menyadari pemicu hipertensi adalah dari pola hidup sehari-hari yang salah. Maka perlu di berikan informasi dan edukasi sehingga masyarakat dapat mengenal dan mencegah penyakit hipertensi sejak dini. Sehingga prevalensi terhadap hipertensi akan menurun. Metode penyampaian informasi dan edukasi yang disampaikan yaitu dengan cara persentase. Hasil kegiatan ini meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat terhadap penyakit hipertensi
