Abstract

This research is motivated by: (1) low student achievement; (2) low activity of student learning; (3) learning methodless attractive, making it less motivating for studentstolearn; (4) the students sometimes difficult to understandand developa concept that they never experienced directly. The purpose of this research is to improve student achievement using process skills approach and improve students learning activities through processs kills approach. Subjects were students of second semester C English Education Study Program Guidance and Counseling Unmas Denpasar with 40 students. Data collection method used is an essay test to determine student achievement. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistical analysis methods. The research method used was action research as much as 2 cycles. Each cycle with the basic steps: planning, acting, observing, reflecting, with arevised actionis always used to find a better and accurate results. The analysis shows an increasing in learning outcomes of second semester C English Study Program FKIP Unmas Denpasar students with the initial mean 1,97 which is in low catagory, the first cycle is 2,45 in the medium catagory, and 3,125 point at the second cycle which is in high catagory, and the student learning activities with the subject of development of students are also increasing. Therefore in this class action research, process skills approach is proven that it can incrases the students learning achievment.

Abstract

Penelitian yang mengamati kondisi ketrampilan berbahasa Inggris siswa dalam pendidikan formal telah banyak dilakukan, namun penelitian yang memfokuskan pada pelatihan komunikasi bahasa Inggris untuk pendidikan informal belum menjadi prioritas. Sehingga, fenomena sumber daya linguistik dan ketrampilan bahasa Inggris masyarakat luar sekolah seharusnya terangkat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kondisi awal dan perubahan sikap dan ketrampilan bahasa Inggris karyawan restoran melalui metode pelatihan berbasis pelibatan terintegrasi. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan tindakan berbasis fenomenologi. Sumber data berupa hasil pelatihan dan pengamatan sikap bahasa 38 karyawan Motel Mexucola. Data dikumpulkan melalui metode pengamatan dengan teknik libat cakap dan catat.melalui tes, wawancara, dan kuesioner. Terdapat tiga tahapan analisis, yaitu kondisi awal, pengembangan, dan kemahiran. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya perubahan sikap belajar karyawan Mexicola selama pelatihan berbasis pelibatan terintegrasi, yaitu lebih aktif, kooperatif, dan bertanggungjawab dalam menyelesaikan tugas. Sikap belajar ini berbanding lurus dengan peningkatan kemampuan ketrampilan bahasa Inggris karyawan dengan tingkat ketuntasan 81%. Ini membuktikan pembelajaran dengan pelibatan terintergrasi antara sikap dan pengetahuan, dan antara hasil pelatihan dengan penerapan langsung dilingkungan kerja telah membentuk pembiasaan penggunaan bahasa fungsional. Hasil pelatihan ini telah membantu karyawan Mexicola dalam peningkatan kualitas komunikasi bahasa Inggris sehingga berdampak pada kuantitas kunjungan wisatawan ke restoran ini

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to know the knowledge of farmers about jajar legowo planting system, the income of rice jajar legowo planting system, the productivity of rice jajar legowo planting system and the efficiency of rice jajar legowo planting system. The research was conducted in Subak Paang Kelurahan Penatih, the method used was extension method, survey and experiment. To know the impact of the application of jajar legowo planting system to increase income and productivity of rice farming, compared with unlived of rice jajar legowo planting system, to know the efficiency of rice usagei used R / C. The result of the research found (1) farmers almost half of them or 45% to know about the technology of jajar legowo planting system (2) revenues of rice farming with jajar legowo planting system increased by Rp 7,446,250 / land area or 40.22%; (3) productivity of rice farming with jajar legowo planting system can increase 2,225 kg / land area or 28,80% and (4) rice farming system of jajar legowo planting system more efficient than without jajar legowo planting system.

Abstract

Two groups of local community who professionalize as wood carver for living in Batuan village, named I Kadek Pastika dan Komang Astika still has complicated problems so that very much influence prosperity of the family. Their problems are centralized on human resources, production, equipment, financial management and marketing due to lack of attention of local government. The purpose of the program is to empower the groups to develop human resources in business, upgrade the product quality, and donate some equipment so that that that can improve prosperity and inspire other community. The program made use of knowledge transfer, technology diffusion, and entrepreneurship capacity building through training workshop, and simulation of art performance. Training of designing carving on wood, ornaments production, carving skill and marketing have been done for 4 months. Design products included wall ornament, interior ornament, and souvenir. Financial management and marketing training has been conducted for two weeks and the output was the ability of daily simple accounting, name cards, and name boards and social media. Based on the evaluation, the program of community partnership has obtained the target therefore the groups can lead a better economy growth.

Abstract

The main objective of this study was to determine: (1) external factors were the opportunities and threats for the development of traditional markets in Bali; (2) The internal factors were the strengths and weaknesses for the development of traditional market in Bali (3) traditional market development strategy. The research location was set in nine districts/municipalities in Bali. The research sample of 18 people, namely the head and secretary of the markets and traders in each district/city. In order to determine the market development strategy traditionally used a SWOT analysis (Strengths Weaknesses Opportunities Threats). The research found that traditional market opportunities in the future was the revitalization of the traditional market, stability conducive security and social concern on traditional markets, while the elements that pose a threat was the lack of information technology adoption The strength in the future was the quality of products, strategic market location, and the availability of parking areas, flexible pricing. Weaknesses fast transaction processing, promotion and cooperation with the tourism industry. Strategy development was a traditional market growth strategy.

Abstract

The present study aims at investigating the competence level of prospective English teachers through interactive lesson study which involved supervisions of teachers, lecturers, and student teachers themselves. A Classroom Action Research in the form of an interactive lesson study model was conducted in four steps, namely planning, practicing, observing, and reflecting. Moreover, the research was administered in two cycles. Some instruments used in data collection were rubric of teaching practice, character checklist, questionnaire, and participatory observation form. The effectivity of approach could be analyzed based on the average scores of 30 student teachers yielded randomly in each cycle, which gradually increased compared to their pre-tests after interactive lesson study has been applied. In the first cycle, the competence of student teachers started to improve with the total score of 1730 and an average score of 58 for the attitude aspect, the total score of 2169 and an average score of 72 for the knowledge aspect, and the total score of 2198 and an average score of 73 on the skill aspect. The achievement of the students' score in cycle 1 was 68 with the medium category. In the second cycle, changes in student learning attitudes began to show significant improvement: total score of 2390 on attitude aspect with a mean of 80, a total score of 2416 on knowledge aspect with a mean of 81, and a total score of 2457 on skill aspect with a mean of 83. Student score gained in cycle II was 82 with the high category. In a nutshell, the ability of the students in their learning attitudes, knowledge, and writing skills were specified as the high category with cultural attitude.

Abstract

Mahasiswa yang praktikum menerapkan strategi pengajaran dan penilaian dalam pembelajaran  daring harus memahami aspek pengetahuan isi, pengetahuan mendidik, dan teknologi. Penelitian ini menganalisis strategi pengajaran dan penyusunan soal mahasiswa praktikum prodi bahasa Inggris dalam pembelajaran daring. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif dengan ancangan penelitian tindakan. Subjek dalam penelitian yaitu 30 mahasiswa praktikum dalam program PLP prodi pendidikan bahasa Inggris di enam sekolah SMP. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa lembarana pengamatan, checklist, kuesioner, dan soal tanya jawab. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa praktikum sangat berprestasi menggunakan strategi pengajaran kontekstual, tetapi cukup berprestasi dalam penerapan strategi pembelajaran koperatif, berbasis masalah, ekspositori, dan inkuiri. Dari aspek penilaian, soal yang disusun mahasiswa sudah memenuhi kreteria administratif, konten, dan performa, yaitu layak kaidah, layak fungsi, dan layak penyajiannya. Pemilihan platform pembelajaran telah memenuhi kreteria keterjangkauan, kesesuaian, dan efesiensi. Dengan demikian, pengetahuan bahasa, metode pengajaran bahasa, dan penggunaan teknologi menjadi kunci sukses dalam pengajaran daring. Penerapan strategi kontekstual dapat membangun imaji dan konsep bahasa yang hakiki yaitu konteks, baik konteks situasi maupun konteks budaya.

Abstract

The investigation that focuses on English language learning by adult starters at the workplace is very much challenging. Thus, this study attempted to elaborate whether emotion (self-confidence, motivation, or anxiety) correlates with teaching strategy (CBI, CLT, and TBLT) and English language performance. This study applied a combination of qualitative with phenomenology design and quantitative with analytic descriptive design to analyze the effect of emotion on teaching strategy. The population was 355 employees whose ages range from 25 to 30. this study involved 100 samples using a random sampling technique. The questionnaire consisted of 15 questions concerning self-confidence, 15 questionnaires about motivation, and 15 questionnaires about anxiety. A performance test measured the student’s language competence. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics with SPSS 25, t-test, and Pearson Product Moment. The finding revealed that the emotion correlates positively either with the teaching strategy or with the learning achievement. The stronger the adult learners feel self-confidence and emotion, and less anxiety the more effective the CBI, CLT, TBLT can encourage their language performance. The factors that make emotion correlate more positively with language performance are (1) the demands of better achievements, (2) self-responsibility, and (3) teaching strategy.
