Abstract

In this paper, we introduce an alternative approach as model for cluster analysis. The data were analyzed by rule-k-means algorithm. It's combine between k-means algorithm and rules. As an application, we use the simulate of item delivery data to classify items based on destination addresses. The goal is to map the item based on type of delivery vehicle. The clustering can be used as a recommendation to the item delivery service company.

Abstract

The research approach used in this research is the quantitative approach. The quantitative study is done through experimental research method by giving treatment through CRS theory implementation in Real Analysis lecture. Provision of treatment directed to improve student’s adaptive reasoning proficiency. The research design used was quasi-experimental with the design form of matching-only pretest-posttest control group design. Population in this research is all student of semester IV of academic year 2016/2017 Program of the Mathematics Education University of Singaperbangsa Karawang who contract Real Course of Analysis, and a sample of this research involves two groups of students selected using purposive sampling technique with matching the subject. Matching the subject is done by pairing individuals based on certain criteria. These criteria are determined based on placement test results before pretesting. This is done in an effort to obtain an equivalent group. The result of the research concludes that 1) The improvement of the adaptive reasoning proficiency of students who get the learning through the implementation of CRS theory does not reach 70% of ideal criteria expected. 2) Increased adaptive reasoning proficiency of students who get learning through the implementation of CRS theory is higher than students who get learning through the implementation of constructivism theory. 3) There is an adaptive difference in reasoning proficiency of students who get learning through the implementation of CRS theory based on achievement of adaptive indicators of reasoning proficiency. 4) There is no interaction between learning factor with achievement factor of adaptive reasoning proficiency toward student’s adaptive reasoning proficiency in real analysis course.

Abstract

AbstractGroup Theory course is contained the definitions, proof of theorem, and lemma so that in order to understand it, the students must have a good mathematical proofing ability. Furthermore, this article examines the comparative improvement of students' mathematical proofing abilities in the course of Group Theory. Comparisons were performed on three groups chosen purposively by subject matching techniques. The result of the research shows that at 95% level of confidence there is a difference in the improvement of students' mathematical proofing ability between those who get learning through the application of CRS theory with mastery learning materials, with students who get learning through CRS theory application and students who get learning through the application of constructivism theory.Keyword: Mathematical Proofing Ability, Conditioning, Reinforcement, Scaffolding, Mastery Learning

Abstract

Geometry Transformation courses is contained visuals (diagrams, graphs, tables), images, equations, and interpretations. So that in order to understand it, students must have good mathematical representation ability. Furthermore, this article examines the comparison of the improvement of students' mathematical representation abilities in Transformation Geometry courses. Comparisons were made on three groups selected purposively with subject matching techniques. The results showed that in the 95% confidence level there was a difference in the increase in students' mathematical representation ability between those who received learning by using van hiele theory-based teaching materials assisted by Geometer's Sketchpad software, and students who learned the van hiele theory assisted by Geometer's Sketchpad software and students who obtained learning with constructivism theory.

Abstract

Artikel ini menyajikan hasil penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan metode penelitian eksperimen dengan desain the randomized solomon four-group design, yang dilakukan terhadap mahasiswa semester VI tahun akademik 2014-2015 pada mata kuliah Persamaan Diferensial Tujuan penelitian ini selain untuk membandingkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis dari kelompok mahasiswa yang diberi perlakuan model pembelajaran problem posing atau tidak, juga untuk membandingkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif dari kelompok mahasiswa yang diberi pretes atau tidak. Berdasarkan analisis data menggunakan one way ANOVA, diperoleh hasil penelitian yang menunjukkan bahwa: 1) pada taraf kepercayaan 95%, terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis yang signifikan antara kelompok mahasiswa yang diberi perlakuan model pembelajaran problem posing dengan yang tidak; dan 2) pada taraf kepercayaan 95%, tidak cukup bukti untuk menyatakan bahwa terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis antara kelompok mahasiswa yang diberi pretes dengan yang tidak. Dengan demikian, perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis yang terjadi disebabkan oleh adanya perlakuan model pembelajaran problem posing bukan disebabkan oleh pemberian pretes di awal perkuliahan.Kata kunci: Kemampuan Berpikir Kreatif Matematis, Model Pembelajaran Problem Posing, Persamaan Diferensial

Abstract

This qualitative descriptive study aims to evaluate the implementation of education in higher education by observing the relevance of the graduate's occupation with the Study Program. The data analyzed is tracer study data obtained from the Career Development Division at one of the leading higher education in Indonesia. The data records 2561 profiles of graduates from the 2010 batch, and 1566 of them have jobs in various fields, while the other 995 graduates are unemployment or continuing their studies. Data analyzed by performing correspondence analysis. The output of this method produces a graphical display of the data in a correspondence plot. The plot displays information about the association's structure between the relevance of the graduate's occupation and the Study Program. The result shows that 69.97% of graduates have jobs that are relevant to the field of study, with the most corporation area (16%), specifically in the industry field (category C), and the most job description (22%) in the research and development division. The results of this study, in general, can be used as recommendations in evaluating the implementation of education in higher education, especially in managing career development programs for graduates.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi berdasarkan laporan hasil The Third International Mathematics and Sciense Study bahwa kemampuan siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama di Indonesia dalam merepresentasikan ide atau konsep matematis masih tergolong rendah. Penelitian ini menerapkan pembelajaran berbasis masalah terbuka, yaitu pembelajaran yang masalahnya memiliki alternatif ragam stragtegi penyelesaian namun tertuju dalam satu jawaban atau alternatif ragam stragtegi penyelesaian atau jawaban. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah eksperimen dengan desain penelitian berbentuk pretest-postest-control group design. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes representasi beragam metematis, dan non tes berupa angket, pedoman observasi, dan wawancara. Hasil dari pengolahan data gain ternormalisasi, dengan taraf signifikansi 0,05 kemampuan representasi beragam matematis siswa yang diberikan pembelajaran berbasis masalah terbuka lebih baik daripada yang siswa yang diberikan pembelajaran konvensional. Pada taraf signifikansi 0,05, kelompok siswa yang diberikan pembelajaran berbasis masalah terbuka menunjukkan adanya perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan representasi yang signifikan antara kelompok kemampuan pandai, sedang dan kurang. Ternyata kemampuan representasi kelompok kemampuan pandai lebih baik daripada kelompok sedang dan kelompok kurang. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data non tes diperoleh respon positif dari siswa mengenai pembelajaran berbasis masalah terbuka.

Abstract

The purpose of this research i.e. to analyze the ability of student’s mathematical representation in the course of geometry system based on the background of learning achievement of transformation geometry courses. This research is a quantitative research with the exposed facto method. The ex-post facto method is an empirical method of finding that is done systematically, the researcher does not control the independent variables because the manifestation has happened or those variables inherently cannot be manipulated. In this study, the attachment between the ability of mathematical representation and the background of learning achievement of the course of transformation geometry has occurred naturally, and the researchers with the setting want to trace back what are the factors causing it. The research design used is the basic causal-comparative design. Population in this research is all student of semester VI of the academic year 2016

Abstract

Correspondence analysis has been widely applied in various fields as a graphical method to depict the association structure between two categorical random variables on a low-dimensional plot. This study built a simple algorithm to determine the principal coordinates and construct the circular confidence regions on the correspondence plot. In this algorithm, the determination of the standard residual matrix and the principal coordinates is built directly from the contingency table (without calculating a correspondence matrix). The algorithm was developed using R and applied to data on Covid-19 cases in West Java.
